I find centipedes much more intimidating than spiders. They're so quick.
I think this is the most beautiful enclosure you've made to date! She looks absolutely fabulous in there and complements everything. Well done! ♥
Although I love all the enclosures that Dave builds, I have to agree that this is my favourite also!
Thank you 😊
So simply puts together the most gorgeous enclosures, and makes it look so easy. He's a Maestro.
Thank you 🙏
I bet the tarantulas are hoping these boys never escape their cages 😂
😂😂😂😂
😂😂
As a hobbyist myself, I so appreciate how much passion you show for your beasties. Although my hobby involves aquariums (fish, snails and neo shrimp) I like to believe that I’m just as enthusiastic about it as you are! Another beautiful build and another great video. Thank you. Please pass my greetings and well wishes on to Mrs. Camera Lady also. Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦👍🏻
Thank you 🙏
That`s so cool! Yes, Dave is excellent. I`m from Canada as well! Specifically, Ontario.
@@noahroy7145 Me too 😊
@@reneeturcottecicigoi9435 Oh cool!
Alberta, Canada here
You should consider adding toy soldiers, miniature buildings, toy cars etc to some of your enclosures to give the appearance of a monster movie with giant insects roaming about.
That’s a really cool idea
@@Orangutan_Stella “the point is that they are naturalist setups” would have sufficed. the insults weren’t necessary.
@@demonator65 Agreed
@@Orangutan_Stella This is a genteel channel, mate. Nothing but love here. He's entitled to his opinion, and doesn't deserve to be disrespected! Same as you ♡
I'd enjoyed a lot.
"You could sit and watch this all day long"... I absolutely agree with You, Dave! 😁
I knew it, I knew it, I knew it!! You need a bigger work table. You need a bigger beastie room and I'll bet you need more shelves too! That is one very beautiful habitat. Lady centipede expresses her enjoyment thru her antennae. Curling and wiggling. At least you now know she really likes that piece of wood. It seemed she licked it in a couple of spaces and left it wet. You have given her active enrichment in her new condo. "Centi-vision" in living color!
❤️❤️❤️
Very interesting, I must admit! Never thought I would find a centepide interesting, but your enthusiasm is very contagious! Thanks Dave and CL! And the enclosure is awesome.
Thanks ❤️❤️❤️
I almost made it to bed......just couldn't say no to watching right away!
❤️ Fantastic footage !!!!
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Dave what a beautiful enclosure, the centipede is absolutely amazing what an incredible specimen!! Look forward to viewing some updates on her I loved the rehousing...Thank you sir!
Sooo centipedes creep me out quite a bit but the more I watch and learn about them the more fascinated and less freaked out I get! Love your videos Dave! Thanks you two!!!!
Thats awesome they really are very cool and interesting
That enclosure is stunning! Centipedes are fascinating, but a bit too creepy for me. I do have one question though: can they not chew through the mesh? Ive seen videos of tarantulas chewing through mesh 😱
I know people have reported them chewing but I have not had this at all and do believe if you make them comfortable they settle and you have no problems also I think most were damaged before the centipede got to it 👍👍
I believe that you love to rehouse your beasties because you love landscaping and gardening alot. All your shapes are great.
a very interesting animal PROFF . another so simple enclosure but very effective for the centipede to move about with ease and do her thing. hopefully you get the chance to mate her . great footage CAMERA LADY. take care guys and many thanks
Cheers mate glad you enjoyed the video we will have some updates in the future 👍❤️
Love the cricket chirping away while Dave creates the environment 😂❤
It's always fascinating to see how precise the coordination of those "legs" is. Image how much work is needed to create a centipede robotic capable of walking FAST like this specimen. The neurology is absolutely stunning, given how prehistoric & "simple" (as some people think of such kind of arthropods) they are.
There’s been a few galapagoensis clutches captive bred here in the U.K. over the last few years. A great accomplishment for the species 👏🏻👍🏻👏🏻
Great looking enclosure Dave!
Thank you kindly
Wonderful job on the enclosure, looks fantastic. Something that always blows my mind about these centipedes is how strong they are. It's amazing how they can just run down and overpower their prey. It's also really cool seeing how they lay one anttenae on the ground to pick up vibrations and stick one in the air to measure air current.
Thank you very much!
Oh Dave! I just LOVE this video! You have truly been given a gift.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Dave: makes the prettiest enclosure I have ever seen
also dave: *quite reasonable*
HOLY GALAPAGOENSIS SHE IS COLOSSAL! GYAAAAT DAMN!
GYAATTTTT
Early morning favourite 🙈👌🏼
What an incredibly beautiful creature. I was both excited and scared while watching it :)
Stunning setup dave.thats the most wary I've seen you handling any beastie you shown it plenty of respect and handled it with the most care... hats off to you .. a joy to watch
What an Incredable and Beautifull creature.
What impress me more than the giant is your gentleness mate ~ That 30x30 would be a comet for the carpet during me building up the enclosure 😅
😂❤️
Could have watched that all day . Lovely enclosure,, 😍 thanks for the video you two, thoroughly enjoyed it 😀.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I'd absolutely love to visit the Beasties exhibits!
Nice to see somebody as passionate as you about wot you do Dave big respect 👊🏻
Thank you 😊
That build looks amazing Dave, I thought maybe you'd put too much in but the finished product was awesome, almost perfect!! Nice camera work too Mrs Camera Lady...👍😃👍
Enclosure looks fantastic! She is a big girl!
What a stunning animal, she looks in very good health. Great camera work with some good closeups. They’re fascinating creatures but quite intimidating when you find one under a rock out in the wild. This video is great to observe one from the safety of my couch 😂
That enclosure looks awesome, nice work!
That’s one big centipede mate!
"you are being active, you are getting promotion"
also: Casually builds amazing looking terrarium in a 40 minutes video ( thank you for also saying where you collecting your substrate)
I have to say the part where she’s engrossed with the wood is quite cute. The way her head moves back and forth, almost like a dog sniffing around an interesting spot - maybe she found something tasty.
You made it look so easy moving her and her new home is beautiful
❤️❤️👍
An update vid would be great!
I think i've never seen you be so cautious before .i would crap my pants if touched by this beastie sorry for the language ..you're like David Attenborough in that your passion for your beaties and the hobby make's it so very interesting to listen and learn. That was incredible to watch. thanks
Thank you 🙏
Man that centipede is MASSIVE
Been looking forward to another Pede vid, Seen my Scolapendra Dehaani today for first time in months, Him/Her has grown alot, Cracking vid as always Dave
Amazing animal! Seems quite intimidating, but beautiful nonetheless Surprising she's sleeping so out in the open like that. Appearantly feels quite safe.
Such a cool video! Awesome enclosure.
These things are scary to encounter in the wild. I used to live in Arizona and had a few giant desert centipedes crawl out from disturbed rocks and such, thankfully never got close enough to get bitten. I don't get creeped out by snakes and spiders, but these bad boys are another story.
Great video, thanks Dave and camera Lady ♥️
I think this is one of the nicest enclosures you've showcased on your channel. Very impressive just how good these large ones can look.
Wow i clicked so fast lol. Been thinking about getting a centipede and a scorpionor two.. I only have tarantulas atm though i have quite a few
Wow so beutiful color👍
Great video, everything in the beastie room is always well behaved and so calm
Great build Dave looks fantastic. I always use plastic plants which i hate but i worry about garden centres using pesticides, you rarely see any beasties at these places.
Ive never had any issues ?
Good thinking, some traces of pesticides creates infertility or years of suffering.(Same as feeding non organically fed prey.)
I have been growing my own plants for over 50 years so they are clear of neonicotinoids and other lesser pesticides and herbicides...maybe you know someone living in your area who is a natural gardener and get plants or clippings from there?
What a Killer Queen! I also like the Enclosure very much, it really looks like Forest Floor. Very nice.
Wow!!! That's a gorgeous enclosure!!!😍
Thank you 😊
Amazing content Dave!! Your enclosures are insanely beautiful! Looks just like a picture from a woodland forest. As for centipedes there the only thing that give me the jitters lol I don't think I could own one but I do find them fascinating and love watching your videos on them. Best of luck with them mate!
Thank you my friend I do like them a lot 😂👍
wow you put the landscapes together so fast they really look nice love the creatures awesome channel
Thank you so much 🤗
She's massive! wow!
Truly a MARVELOUS and interesting video!!!! All I can say is that if I were a centipede...I would be honored to have you build my enclosure!!! Lol! 😍🤩😍
Thank you 😊 ❤️❤️
I hope I get to find me a lovely life partner like the camera lady one day. Someone who is okay (and helps) with the tubs of woodlice, cockroaches, spiders and other amazing lil guys in my house 🤣
❤❤❤❤❤
Very interesting to learn about their behaviour with their antenna, I have no experience with centipedes, so I didn't know that! I always thought centipedes were just pretty unpredictable 😄
So love your videos Dave, you not only have the knowledge and care for these creatures but also an artistic eye to how you set up your enclosures for them. Great video as usual.
❤️❤️❤️thank you
I FEAR NO MAN...but that thing...it scares me...
I live in Australia, we have much smaller ones here, this thing is a nightmare
@@EssentialComment you also have tons of other deadly stuff, so it evens out xD
You are well chuffed 🥰🥰🥰 and so you shd be, really cheered me up watching, not having a good time atm so your video was a welcome distraction, thanku 😊 🙏🙏🙏
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for another great video.
Would love to see an update video of this galap. It’s a stunning setup. Also judging by the shape of the tergits (armoured segments on the top) it’s a male. The females in the big SA centipedes have a more cylindrical shape. Males are more flared and look more exaggerated if that makes sense.
Im itching all over watching this vid . These crawlies are my worse thing of nightmares .. but im curious of them .. strange ...
Giant centipedes are fascinating and terror inducing all at the same time. Thanks Dave and camera lady!
Dave the only thing you seem to be missing now is a Bobbitt worm for your collection.
😂😂😂
Now I've got to look that up
I think she likes her new home.
Yes I enjoyed the video and you did a great job with the enclosure! I find those centipedes fascinating but they do scare 😱me to be honest 🐛! They look like angry small steam trains to me the only thing missing is the huffing and puffing noise as well as the steam blowing whistle! Intresting to watch though and as always you Dave and Sweet Camera Lady did an amazing 👏 work! Happy Friday and weekend to you both, take care! Hugs from me and my cat Trollet. 🖐😊👍🐱🐾❤️🤗
Thanks 🙏 ❤️❤️❤️
Fantastic and great information on these creatures. Hurra!
That was an impressive move Dave and to be honest, it went very smoothly. When you tried to catch her first, the strength and aggression she showed, I didn't think you were going to hold her in the catch cup, I thought she was going to evade capture, but as always, you seemed to have it fully under control and it went very smoothly indeed. Thanks for sharing, I am not so afraid of them as I am the spiders, I know they run along like a thunderous train but then you wouldn’t get me that close to have to worry ha ha. Job well done. I also think it was nice of you to feed her, it settled her down easily. The enclosure looks ace.
Thank you my friend ❤️👍
This is CLOSE to beating out the fishing spider enclosure as my favorite! Absolutely stunning!!!!
I’ve noticed that it seems like keepers in the UK are a bit more open to creating and using more natural style enclosures, while a lot of people here in the states seem to shy away from that, more. I don’t know why that is. That’s why I always tell people you can watch all the videos you want in particular species husbandry, etc. but that in the end, everyone does things differently and in their own way.
*LOSE INTEREST IN THE BOX*
😂😂 love it! I’ve never seen a centipede that I thought was so cute! 🤍
these things creep me out big time they are way too fast for my liking
beautiful enclosure 👍😊
I'd have give her some food, she seems a bit hungry lmao. You don't want them wearing down or breaking their 'fangs' as adults by grabbing everything.
What makes you think she is hungry ? She is testing the brush that’s not a feeding response 👍
I wouldn't call that centipede stunning, but that enclosure certainly is! Too many legs for me lol!
She looks like a tank! The plates on her are amazing. I agree with you, I could watch her all day moving around that new beautiful enclosure. All the different levels of terrain are perfect💙💙💙
Stunning enclosure. This is 1 Beastie that im not sure i could keep. I think they're gorgeous & really fascinating but there's just something really creepy about them lol. Maybe 1 day, just not today 🤣
You are a great teacher, noble sir. Thank you for the awesome video.
It’s so cool to be able to observe the behavior. Very nice home for her.
beautiful set-up. love it.
Thank you 🙏
I really like how you've been show casing giant centipedes. My wife has one and she loves it they are beautiful invertebrates and many people do collect them.
You're like the bob Ross of keepers. Even most of the tamer keepers get all weired about interacting with centipedes. Rightfully so. The can be really quick and I don't know if the are deadly if you don't have an allergy to them but no one wants a bit from one. If you were any kind of nervous you didn't show it. So calm and level headed about the whole experience. The only thing you didn't do is call it a happy little bug. It would have been appropriate. The the most chill centipede I've ever seen.
Thank you 🙏
Always exciting to watch your videos Dave, that was awesome to witness. The enclosure looks beautiful I’m sure she will love it !
i worked with scolopendra for years as a keeper..much more common in the trade now..this species used to be v rare in captivity, zoo or private..they were the sought species..and expensive..great vid
I've been looking forward to an update on this chap. 💖
I have Scolopendrphobia and despite , not even thinking of getting in the same room as one, these videos really help me to try to overcome my fear
I love the enclosures that you do. I have learned a lot from you and camera lady. Thank you for what you do
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I'm so glad you kept the camera on her while she was chewing on the wood. It was fascinating to watch! In fact, I hated for the video to end and really look forward to future videos of her. Their antennas are so expressive and animated! I hope you do a breeding video as I've never seen centipedes mate and am now curious how that will go. Thank you for all you do! ❤️
My gawd that tank on the corner gives me heart palpitations
yeah it does look a little precarious huh...
😂😂😂❤️👍
I picked up a centipede when I was a child and learned a quick lesson.
The forciples on this one though. Don't want to get bit by that one.
Beautiful critter.
That was fascinating! I can see why you & camera lady can watch them all day. It is very interesting & a great set-up to boot! 👍👀
Thank you 🙏
What a crazy creature, I couldn't imagine the pushback of her fighting with the box cover there as I already am surprised with how much strength my tarantulas have when they are upset! She looks absolutely beautiful in her new home though.
Ano I've told ya this before but I'd love to see some more centapede vids (totally your fault btw lol)
im in S.E. Queensland Australia, I caught one in my compost bin that was 150cm long. they're not so calm here !
centipedes have the cutest faces, almost as cute as millipedes
and i love their curly antennae they look like a curly mustache :)
Well Dave I luv all your enclosures the time and care you take certainly pays off but you've excelled yourself this time and she is a magnificent specimen and Camera Lady has certainly done a great job in filming her ....
Thank you som much ❤️👍
Another good video as always, you could even set up a live feed camera for some these guys it be amazing to watch how the act.
You had a lovely arrangement there for your Centipede. I would love it if I were a centipede.
Funny how our native centipede are so tiny but they may be in your beasty mix as they are often found where there are a lot of woodlice. Dave that is I think the best enclosure I've seen you do to date . Hello 👋 camera lady a job well done as always until next time guys 🥰🥰🥰
Thank you so very much 🙏❤️
I found a couple of natives under a plant pot yesterday ❤️
Hello from Ohio. Love your channel but usually watch you on the TV so comments aren't available. You build such amazing enclosures! Terrified of spiders personally but still enjoy watching. Camera Lady is brave I fear even the babies.
❤️❤️❤️
