You should consider adding toy soldiers, miniature buildings, toy cars etc to some of your enclosures to give the appearance of a monster movie with giant insects roaming about.
@@Orangutan_Stella This is a genteel channel, mate. Nothing but love here. He's entitled to his opinion, and doesn't deserve to be disrespected! Same as you ♡
As a hobbyist myself, I so appreciate how much passion you show for your beasties. Although my hobby involves aquariums (fish, snails and neo shrimp) I like to believe that I’m just as enthusiastic about it as you are! Another beautiful build and another great video. Thank you. Please pass my greetings and well wishes on to Mrs. Camera Lady also. Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦👍🏻
Sooo centipedes creep me out quite a bit but the more I watch and learn about them the more fascinated and less freaked out I get! Love your videos Dave! Thanks you two!!!!
Very interesting, I must admit! Never thought I would find a centepide interesting, but your enthusiasm is very contagious! Thanks Dave and CL! And the enclosure is awesome.
It's always fascinating to see how precise the coordination of those "legs" is. Image how much work is needed to create a centipede robotic capable of walking FAST like this specimen. The neurology is absolutely stunning, given how prehistoric & "simple" (as some people think of such kind of arthropods) they are.
I knew it, I knew it, I knew it!! You need a bigger work table. You need a bigger beastie room and I'll bet you need more shelves too! That is one very beautiful habitat. Lady centipede expresses her enjoyment thru her antennae. Curling and wiggling. At least you now know she really likes that piece of wood. It seemed she licked it in a couple of spaces and left it wet. You have given her active enrichment in her new condo. "Centi-vision" in living color!
Wonderful job on the enclosure, looks fantastic. Something that always blows my mind about these centipedes is how strong they are. It's amazing how they can just run down and overpower their prey. It's also really cool seeing how they lay one anttenae on the ground to pick up vibrations and stick one in the air to measure air current.
a very interesting animal PROFF . another so simple enclosure but very effective for the centipede to move about with ease and do her thing. hopefully you get the chance to mate her . great footage CAMERA LADY. take care guys and many thanks
Dave what a beautiful enclosure, the centipede is absolutely amazing what an incredible specimen!! Look forward to viewing some updates on her I loved the rehousing...Thank you sir!

What a stunning animal, she looks in very good health. Great camera work with some good closeups. They’re fascinating creatures but quite intimidating when you find one under a rock out in the wild. This video is great to observe one from the safety of my couch 😂
Great build Dave looks fantastic. I always use plastic plants which i hate but i worry about garden centres using pesticides, you rarely see any beasties at these places.
Good thinking, some traces of pesticides creates infertility or years of suffering.(Same as feeding non organically fed prey.) I have been growing my own plants for over 50 years so they are clear of neonicotinoids and other lesser pesticides and herbicides...maybe you know someone living in your area who is a natural gardener and get plants or clippings from there?
I think i've never seen you be so cautious before .i would crap my pants if touched by this beastie sorry for the language ..you're like David Attenborough in that your passion for your beaties and the hobby make's it so very interesting to listen and learn. That was incredible to watch. thanks
i worked with scolopendra for years as a keeper..much more common in the trade now..this species used to be v rare in captivity, zoo or private..they were the sought species..and expensive..great vid
Stunning setup dave.thats the most wary I've seen you handling any beastie you shown it plenty of respect and handled it with the most care... hats off to you .. a joy to watch

You are well chuffed 🥰🥰🥰 and so you shd be, really cheered me up watching, not having a good time atm so your video was a welcome distraction, thanku 😊 🙏🙏🙏
It makes me mad when people call tarantulas aggressive when they are purely defensive. Centipedes seem to break that description though. Aggressive seems to define these guys to a T. I had an S. subspinipes that even when it wasn’t hungry took delight in killing every feeder I put into its enclosure. Disturb it in the least, it would just go off the hook with rage. Not an animal for the weak of heart or inexperienced. These guys are the ultimate predator.
Been looking forward to another Pede vid, Seen my Scolapendra Dehaani today for first time in months, Him/Her has grown alot, Cracking vid as always Dave
Amazing animal! Seems quite intimidating, but beautiful nonetheless Surprising she's sleeping so out in the open like that. Appearantly feels quite safe.
I really like how you've been show casing giant centipedes. My wife has one and she loves it they are beautiful invertebrates and many people do collect them.
That enclosure is stunning! Centipedes are fascinating, but a bit too creepy for me. I do have one question though: can they not chew through the mesh? Ive seen videos of tarantulas chewing through mesh 😱
I know people have reported them chewing but I have not had this at all and do believe if you make them comfortable they settle and you have no problems also I think most were damaged before the centipede got to it 👍👍
So love your videos Dave, you not only have the knowledge and care for these creatures but also an artistic eye to how you set up your enclosures for them. Great video as usual.
She looks like a tank! The plates on her are amazing. I agree with you, I could watch her all day moving around that new beautiful enclosure. All the different levels of terrain are perfect💙💙💙
Amazing content Dave!! Your enclosures are insanely beautiful! Looks just like a picture from a woodland forest. As for centipedes there the only thing that give me the jitters lol I don't think I could own one but I do find them fascinating and love watching your videos on them. Best of luck with them mate!
Well Dave I luv all your enclosures the time and care you take certainly pays off but you've excelled yourself this time and she is a magnificent specimen and Camera Lady has certainly done a great job in filming her ....
That was an impressive move Dave and to be honest, it went very smoothly. When you tried to catch her first, the strength and aggression she showed, I didn't think you were going to hold her in the catch cup, I thought she was going to evade capture, but as always, you seemed to have it fully under control and it went very smoothly indeed. Thanks for sharing, I am not so afraid of them as I am the spiders, I know they run along like a thunderous train but then you wouldn’t get me that close to have to worry ha ha. Job well done. I also think it was nice of you to feed her, it settled her down easily. The enclosure looks ace.
I'm so glad you kept the camera on her while she was chewing on the wood. It was fascinating to watch! In fact, I hated for the video to end and really look forward to future videos of her. Their antennas are so expressive and animated! I hope you do a breeding video as I've never seen centipedes mate and am now curious how that will go. Thank you for all you do! ❤️
I picked up a centipede when I was a child and learned a quick lesson. The forciples on this one though. Don't want to get bit by that one. Beautiful critter.
This is CLOSE to beating out the fishing spider enclosure as my favorite! Absolutely stunning!!!! I’ve noticed that it seems like keepers in the UK are a bit more open to creating and using more natural style enclosures, while a lot of people here in the states seem to shy away from that, more. I don’t know why that is. That’s why I always tell people you can watch all the videos you want in particular species husbandry, etc. but that in the end, everyone does things differently and in their own way.
Would love to see an update video of this galap. It’s a stunning setup. Also judging by the shape of the tergits (armoured segments on the top) it’s a male. The females in the big SA centipedes have a more cylindrical shape. Males are more flared and look more exaggerated if that makes sense.
I'm finding your channel very addictive Dave even though some of your beasties give me goosebumps I find them fascinating and love learning about them 😯
Very interesting to learn about their behaviour with their antenna, I have no experience with centipedes, so I didn't know that! I always thought centipedes were just pretty unpredictable 😄
He's not seen how much of an escape artist they are.. some of the reason I think they are so 'active they once were wild so they r always looking for a way to get back out the box they find their self in. Hahaha I think they r smarter then given credit honestly. Once again a wonderful video! Thank you and best of luck
i know this video is old, but i've seen many centipede owners first approach their centipede from the front and let it find out what it's being prodded with, then moved along once they know it's not a threat. they seem to be calmer that way.
She’s in such good condition shiny and smooth and a beautiful colour - we could watch her forever , looking forward to her hunting the running roaches too ,. Such a Great video a joy to watch x
I have been watching your videos for some time now and have subscribed because of the absolutely amazing things that go on in your Beastie Room. The centipede was great. I lived in southern Arizona as a 6/7 year old and saw large ones fairly often. Thanks and keep on going.
You are amazing. You have such love and respect for nature. You are also educated. I love it. You are spoiling your beastie's like all owners should. I would have a sanctuary if I could afford it, and a nature museum. I grew up in a home with a large aquarium in the basement. We had a blue octopus and shrimp as well as exotic fish. My dad loves fish. I love spiders, toads, and bats. My family taught me about wildlife when I was very young. My dad is native American. I appreciate what you are doing. ❤️👍
Absolutely brilliant Dave, what a fantastic set up .That's going to be a fantastic breeding project, especially if it helps put a stop to people taking species from the wild, anyway Dave another super job by yourself and camera 📷 lady.
I find centipedes much more intimidating than spiders. They're so quick.
Don't need it flailing around on the bedroom floor
So simply puts together the most gorgeous enclosures, and makes it look so easy. He's a Maestro.
Thank you 🙏
I think this is the most beautiful enclosure you've made to date! She looks absolutely fabulous in there and complements everything. Well done! ♥
