  • Hello guys.
We reach the end of the road.
After more than three weeks, fourteen different sites, and four ferries, we finally have to call it a day.
But there is one last region (and site) to visit.
    Beautiful Northumberland.
Join us at Annstead Farm, near Seahouses for a couple of nights. We have always loved that coastline, and Seahouses, plus Beadnell. Probably the best beaches in the UK.
And in our opinion, the best pub!
See how we get on, talking to sheep and cows, doing foghorn impressions, and enjoying the final couple of nights of this amazing trip.
Hope you enjoy this one guys
    Dave & Sue
Music is as always by our friend Serge Pavkin, thank you Serge. 💙💛💙💛💙💛💙💛

We’re very lucky to be able to do this and wished we had done it earlier in life. But we’re manning the most of it now!!

Thanks so much. I’ve loved Scotland since I was a little kid when my parents took me up to Aviemore and the Spey
Since then we’ve tried to travel to most parts but I think that this trip has been the best yet!
Fell in love with the Isle of Mull and Ardnamurchan - the landscapes and wildlife are just jaw droppingly beautiful.
We are planning for a trip (hopefully) in October, but if not back again in the Spring.
      Counting the days already!
Thanks again Alistair you’re very kind 🙏🙏
      Hope you’re having a good week 👍👍

I had no idea that the Eiders were so stunning Dave - only ever seen them from afar.
You're right, the Olde Ship was far too tempting especially when that sea fret rolled in! 😃

Hi Dave and Sue, it’s always sad when it’s home time but Wow what a finale. That cow was giving you both the eye ha ha , a misty walk. The beach and sea looked lovely. Loved the harbour. The sheep had lovely markings on their faces. Thank you for sharing, take care xx Julie and Tony xx

We had such an amazing trip - loved every second and we were so lucky with the weather.
Northumberland was wonderful for our last couple of days, although the Sea Fret was weird and kept rolling in and out!
Seahouses is a brilliant little place with Beadnell and bamburgh equidistant along the coast
Hope you guys are having a good week 👍👍

Lovely finale to the tour with the return to England. The water crossing looked exciting especially using the squishy tire! Looks like some great options for boat tours. Great to see some more Eiders - such beautiful ducks. It's amazing how the weather by the sea can change so much over a short time. Loved the fog horn impression even if Sue didn't! I quite enjoyed the curious cows and that sheep with attitude! Have a great day you two.

    • @NBNatureTrailvan

The Sea fret there was pretty crazy Donna. One minute bright Sunshine, the next cold and misty. Guaranteed a few miles inland it would have been sunny!. Felt a bit like when we visited San Francisco many years back. That fog rolling in and changing everything. I remember as a kid living on the coast, listening to the Fog horns in the night. SUch an eerie sound - but maybe not when i was doing it! Sue not impressed 😃 I think the Olde Ship was to blame.
We have been on the island boat tours before. They are really amazing. But they looked just too crowded to be able to enjoy them or get decent photographs.
Thanks for your kind comments as always Donna - hope you guys are having a good week. 👍👍

It's been a good season, Dave. I look forward to the next one. Still, traveling by motorhome is another great experience. I was wondering where you could find sandwiches when you were waiting for 40 minutes on the road. But the sandwich is just behind Dave in the fridge! It's a motorhome! The path to the sea among the dunes was very beautiful. The North Seas have their own unique beauty. A little rest from the rest and then back on the road. A stellar August ahead!

Yes it’s something we haven’t got completely used to - being able to just stop and chill anywhere - at my age, having facilities on board is very useful! 😃
Yes, Northumberland and the North Sea is beautiful - the beaches are wonderful. I don’t think we appreciated this stop as much as we should have. I think it was because we knew we had to get home
Hope all is well, my friend 👍👍👍

You guys were in very good spirits considering it was the end of your trip, great fog horn impression Dave, although sue looked less than impressed 😂😂🙈. What a trip!! You certainly were lucky with the weather, especially considering that summer has yet to arrive in the UK. Just a little bit of drizzle at the end. Stunning beaches, despite the rain, and the ship inn looked so cool! Easy to see why it is your favourite 🍻. We have loved following along on your epic Scotland adventure, thanks for taking us along guys. It has been a fabulous series 😊🙌. Roll on the next one!
    Take care

Thanks so much for coming along with us on the trip, Shell and Pete.
It was such a memorable three weeks. We visited and stayed at some incredible locations.
We have visited that Northumberland coast quite a few times now and we love it. The Olde Ship is brilliant! Yes we were definitely in high spirits. 😃😃
Glad you liked the foghorn impression, three pints of a good strong beer just makes you have to do it 😃😃
The whole trip we only had about three days of rain. We were so lucky the whole time and midge free as we went end of April through to mid May.
Planning to go back to Ardnamurchan and Mull again in the Spring.
And hoping to get to Scotland, not sure where yet, in November.
Before that’s it’s a month in Europe - so both nervous and excited for that one!
Thanks again guys, have a brilliant weekend 👍🙏👍🙏🙏👍

I love proper old pubs like the ship, your favourite pub, rather than these modern trendy bars. Loved the spacious beach you went onto, you should always keep filming as you went over the tyre, mishaps always make great videos 😂. Love sea-houses always great, a lovely way to finish off your 3 week trip.

Been to Seahouses many a time and always just park up, get some fish n chips and then go but looks like we have been missing out on that pub, it looked amazing inside and I have just booked a night there B&B for September in a King Room :o). It would have been great to see your evening meal too, so would you recommend the evening food or should we go out? I wonder if my son and his family are on the same site as you - they are in a static caravan, about a 10 minute walk from Beadnell Bay. Never done a cruise to the Farne islands but no displayed price usually means a no from us. Oh passing the Angle of the North, about 25 miles away from us, cheers Alan

    • @NBNatureTrailvan
      @NBNatureTrailvan  Місяць тому +1

Hiya mate - that’s really cool, the Olde Ship is so atmospheric. Theres also a deck overlooking the harbour. Not sure about it as a hotel cos we’ve always been in to the pub \ restaurant but the pub is amazing - the food is good too. They do a good evening meal and bar meals too.
I think your Son and family must be on the big Beadnell site - we were on a smaller one about half way between Beadnell and Seahouses.
If you get the chance Alan - you must go to the Farne Islands - absolutely amazing. Good chance to see all sorts of seabirds and maybe Dolphins too - it’s always a great trip and the crew are brilliant on either company.
Can’t be sure of the prices mate - we went a few years back now. September wouldn’t be so crowded on the boats I shouldn’t think 👍
Anyway you will love the Olde Ship I think. 👍
