Love the west coast. The oil rigs come into loch kishorn for repairs and decommissioning. The oil rigs you were seeing there, is called OCEAN GREATEHITE. 👍👍👌👌
Great video mate,
I could spot my sticker on the applecross pass 🤣🤣🤣 cannot believe is still there
Haha great spot
Just watching your latest video brings all those great memories back I've only done 10 miles in the last hour through taking pictures and videos 😂 then same again the next day it really is a wake up call to how vast and incredibly stunning the place is you cannot travel 200 or 300 miles without blasting past everything .
Those little smiles to yourself when another amazing view appears or the sat nav says stay on the next road for 90 miles will last forever 😊😊😊
I did say there is everything you need on the west coast try and take it joe and enjoy ❤
Oh by the way great videos 😊❤
Thanks Darren 👍🏻 🙌
Niiiiice dude, really enjoyed that.
Appreciate it! 🙌
When using Calimoto , you can cycle between distance, altitude, eta etc by simply swiping the display. In your case, showing mileage, swipe it and you can choose your preferred display set up. Also it won't allow you do pinch zoom when on the move
Don't miss The Wee Mad Road B869 from Lochinvar to the Kylesku bridge it's a buzz
There's frig all up there😆 don't see Lochinvar on the map? see Kylesku bridge ok.
What time of year did you go
A couple of weeks ago 👍🏻
First time I went up Bealach na bà, it was gale rain and I was stuck behind a cement truck all the way up. And I was almost blown off the road on the way down to Applecross- the weather can be "interesting".
Loch EWE is pronounced Ewe like the sheep. 🐑
Hi Joe, Loving the channel so far. Looks like you might have bitten off more than you can chew this day though 🤣. Looking to get a adventure bike before long after having an SV650 for a few years. I'd love to do the NC500. Can't wait for the next installement.
Just out of interest, your riding style is fairly relaxed/steady on your vids, are you generally a steady rider? Have you done any track days etc?
Thanks 🙏🏼 it was a tough day that, plenty tough days ahead as well. Yeah I don’t push it at all. I’m not a fast rider, I like to take it easy and enjoy the ride haha 😎
The oil rigs in Port Kishorn dry dock not sure if that’s repair or decommissioning
Both
Stunning views: Did you opt for any subscription options on the bike?
No, I bought it used from a third party.
My favourite place in Scotland so far Applecross pass, you can’t justify how big and steep this place is on camera 👍
Had several choices, headed here first 👍
Legend! 🙌
those drilling rigs are stacked due to the lack of contracts, you can find them in the Firth of Forth/Tay and Cromarty etc.
Thanks for the info 👍🏻
They're there to go into the Kishorn dry dock for demolition.
Great videos thank you! Maybe check out the Scorpio ADX 2 (great inners and very light weight) and Triumph 1200 GT Pro :)
I'll check it out! 👍🏻
Did it on my Speed Twin, 1600 miles, all the big passes in Lake District then up to NC500. Quite doable 😊 But yes definitely more comfortable on an adventure bike!
Great effort 🙌 that’s a good distance
My Tiger is the same with the fuel bars. One minute, you have half a tank then two bars big orange panic symbols and oh you have 30 miles 😂
Haha it was exactly the same on this trip. 😂
Great video worthy of a sub 👍🏻
Much appreciated! 🙌
You should have filled up in Applecross, I've had days like that, the scenery makes up for it.
I should have indeed sir, thanks for watching.
Perfect bike for you that Joe. Proper mile muncher. Enjoying your vids 👍🏻
Thanks 👍
With the off road stuff, join your local TRF, honestly the best thing I did since I picked up my norden just before Christmas. I was apprehensive at first but everyone has been so helpful. I just did an introductory day course to off-road riding with them a couple of weeks ago, £40 for members, it was ace apart from when they said ride up the steep grassy hill and drop your bike, wtf……I’d already picked it up around 9-12 times already, I was blowing and it wasn’t even lunch time. Couple of weeks time is another forest ride, private estate, food & amenities 9am till 4pm.
I’ll absolutely explore that, sounds like it would be ideal for me. Thank you so much for the advice and comment 👍🏻
@@freedom-machines if you do join, just keep an eye out for the adv bike stuff on the forum. Thankfully the Somerset group is quite active and they also pair up with other TRF groups. They have a weekend adv bike ride in wales and in the Yorkshire dales led by the respective TRF group, which unfortunately I can’t make.
Great vid enjoyed it
Thank you John 🙌
What are you talking about Joe, not suitable for a Bonneville, I take mine across to Applecross two or three times a year and it’s perfect for the roads around the NC500, you don’t need a Adventure bike, intact if you think about it the Triumph was the first adventure bike just ask Ted Simon 😂😂 glad you’re enjoying it 👍👍
Haha 1300 miles on a bonne with my polystyrene back. We wouldn’t have made it round Mike 😂. Jokes aside when you’re up there the bonne would be a dream 👍🏻
I’ve actually read his book so walked into that one 😉
@@freedom-machines well must admit I’ve got the King Queen seat on mine and I don’t have as far to get there, I live on the east coast near Inverness, they are fabulous roads on the west coast though, all the best buddy 👍
Really enjoying the video series Joe. Are you going to the Adventure Bike Festival? I have a street triple at the minute and looking to swap it for a bike like yours so trips like the NC500 are a little more comfortable. Enjoy Sweet Lamb, looks like a great few days training.
There’s so many great adventure bikes on the market now @motobob does some great reviews on the newer bikes into the market. I’m an ideal world you would have both but I prefer my adventure on a day to day basis. Thanks for your message as always 👍🏻
