Having just replayed Kalos, Route 13 is genuinely AWFUL, and half the reason is because of the wild encounters being almost exclusively Trapinch and Diglett that you can't run from, are immune to Repels because they're on the overworld, and only go away by literally standing still and doing nothing, hands down contender for one of if not the single worst Route in all of Pokemon
if you have a flying type, you can run from pokemon with arena trap, this isn't always the case but it's still useful to know
You can also avoid them by staying on the road.
Plus it comes with a Power Plant tease
the worst part is that you get the smoke ball only two routes later
technically you can go out of your way to go to route 3 and catch a run away dunsparce since both route 4 and route 13 are next to lumiose but who cares that much lol
Surprised there was no mention of pokemon in Scarlet and Violet that walk into your model while you are still in a battle, causing you to be in an endless cycle of encountering wild pokemon.
I literally had this happen 5 times in a row once. Fucking Tauros and Hariyama.
Those damn Geodude in that one cave in the Teal Mask DLC...

I prefer pla where you battle Pokémon while throwing your Pokémon at them instead of simply touching them… or going near them because sometimes I go past a Pokémon but I’m still close enough to go into the battle but I didn’t even touch it.
A lot people don't realise that there's a hidden mechanic with OHKO moves: The higher the gap between levels, the more accurate they become.

@Thumper17 I'm not sure if I'm calling back to the right moment but back then he was fighting someone on X and Y and got toxic clefable stalled with it spamming minimize and moonlight

@@teomcnastyyeah Clefable is on his least favorite Pokémon video, specifically one that kept using Minimize and Cosmic Power, then would heal itself with Moonlight until it’s stats maxed out for Stores Power
Zorua is the reason why I have a mythical for my buddy so that way I know that it’s a trap.
I do the same but with a Shadow Pokémon
It’s not even that hard to tell that it’s a Zaurua
Mine is always a Shiny Rayquaza or a Scizor, so it’s easy to see it’s a Zorua
I just have my best buddy as a Goomy and the ribbon is easy to see, so it's quite easy to tell. Though it was pretty funny when I had 2 best buddy Goomys on screen lol

It technically was mentioned, or at least alluded to, when talking about Pokemon that have trapping abilities. Maybe it could've been mentioned specifically, but that might've been a bit redundant
@@matthewkuscienko4616 The difference between most pokemon with counter moves and Wobuffett though is that once youre in a battle with Wobuffett your pokemon is FAR more likely to die. Pokemon like trapinch and dugtrio may be annoying, but as long as you’re not in an incredibly disadvantagous position you’d probably be fine. Wobuffett on the other hand is equipped with a multitude of counter moves, so once you hit it, it’ll likely hit back FAR harder (At it will most likely survive at least one attack as Wobuffetts rlly tanky). PLUS!! It has destiny bond, which makes dealing with Wobuffett FAR more annoying and potentially lethal. Sure, pokemon with trapping moves are annoying in general, but Wobuffett is easily the worst of the bunch
Probably because you pretty much never encounter Wobbuffet like that.
in Kanto, theyre in the post-game cerulean cave and sevii islands.
In Johto they're in the optional dark cave.
In Hoenn, they're in the optional safari zone.
In Sinnoh, they're in the postgame pokéradar.
They just straight up aren't in Unova or Alola. From Galar on, it's easy to dodge them since they're slow overworld encounters.
Kalos is the big exception where they are 10% encounters in the mandatory Reflection cave.
And honestly, I'm very sure the huge infamy of Diglett/Dugtrio and Trapinch solely comes from that godforsaken route 13 in Kalos since otherwise they often are in optional areas or postgame otherwise. In difference to reflection cave and Wobbuffets, you cannot just avoid them with repels, but also your movement often is slowed because of winds, they're fast overworld encounters, and you can only escape them by standing still, and the route is solely infested by them (aside from 20% Gible) vs. reflectioncave at having lots of other encounters.
Thus why he didn't specifically point out Wobbuffet since you basically never meet them unless it's exactly a randomized pokémon encounter nuzlocke, which probably a lot of people have watched youtubers do, but I'll assume will be a very niche thing people actually play.@@energyshatty9020

The Pokémon Go Zorua one is pretty easy to know. It appears as your buddy Pokémon. Shiny Pokémon aren’t shiny in the overworld.
So, in my case, it would turn into an Ursaluna?
@@dustinarmstrong1168 absolutely. I had a perfect Gible as my buddy Pokémon and had it follow me for a year to earn mega candies to max it out. Zorua kept tricking me until my Gible gained the Best Buddy ribbon. Then I could tell it was Zorua because it had a ribbon on it.

6:13 as someone that visits the GTS a lot, seeing this happen to both gen 6 and 7 GTS is just sad. Like they have Pokemon they want that you'd usually have such as a Zubat.. Only for it to have a impossible gender such as "back". It's even worse when you're just looking to fill up your pokedex and a certain Pokemon has nothing but hacked offers.

I feel like Wobbuffet mostly doesn't get mentioned because outside of Kalos' Reflection cave, you only encounter Wobbuffets in optional or post-game areas. And even in Kalos, Reflection Cave's Wobbuffets (which can at least be repel'd) are mostly overshadowed by that infamous route 13. Hence why he didn't feel the need to specifically point it out.

5:28 Compound Eye (since Emerald) and Super Luck (since Sword/Shield) are your best friends when it comes to hunting for rare wild items.
Also, you know what’s worse than male Salandit? Shiny breeding for a female one in Sword/Shield and ending up with TWO male Salandit with the square animation before finally getting a shiny female (number 13; total of almost 12k eggs) 😂.

6:27 Recently I decided to play Black's postgame and wanted to change my team a bit, so I caught a Pawniard. It had a plus Sp. Attack, minus Attack nature and a characteristic that means it has an above avarage Special Attack IVs. Literally the worst it could've been. -_-

When you're using an electric Pokemon and run into a dugtrio in radical red while doing a hardcore Nuzlocke and your electric type was under leveled.

In a Nuzlocke you don’t want to run into a Pokémon that requires a trade evolution and you don’t have anyone to trade with
Some of them are good enough to use without trade evolving, but yeah, it feels really bad to not be able to have them at their fullest potential.
I've always hated trade evolutions, it's great to punish people with no one else around isn't it

1:17 i had to do a double take here but from the looks of it, that ratatta was NOT there at all when FireDragon touched the shiny ponyta, meaning, and i can only assume this, that the ratatta actually spawned RIGHT as they were about to touch shiny ponyta, which lead to FireDragon having a wild encounters against the ratatta instead of the shiny ponyta

EDIT: now that i think about it, it's possible the game actually bugged out and thought they encountered ratatta instead of shiny ponyta, and honestly i can't tell which is worse

On that Zubat supersonic thing, afaik, the GBA games produce rng results depending on the frame. Because you're reloading thru save states and spamming A, you keep encountering the same results as you're essentially encountering the same bunch of frames. My save scumming method on GBA is save state, try and fail, load state, try and fail like 5-10 times, load state then fast forward, and save-load again
The one that hit me the most were the Pokemkn Go ones, god I wish I never encounter them 😭

When I was a kid, I amused myself by running into Missingno. or 'M, running away, and then heading back into the Cinnabar Island Pokémon Center to check the Hall of Fame data and see what fresh insanity had been unleashed upon it. Hell, once I got to know some of the different kinds of glitch Pokémon, it got to be kind of a "Who's That Pokémon?" deal. "Oh, that was a .4! And that had to have been an LM4!" It's the little things like that, a strange sort of unintended magic that no remake can ever hope to recapture.

Enamorus in Pokémon Legends Arceus. The other members of the Forces of Nature sucked too, but Enamorus is fifty times worse. The place she appears in is full of mud that will slow you down, tons of other wild Pokémon that will attack you, and her own attack confuses you if you get hit, plus it’s nearly impossible to avoid. Getting close enough to throw enough things at her to drop her guard enough to start a battle is a pipe dream, you will die over and over again. I only caught her through sheer dumb luck, by spamming Jet Balls. I was trying to drop her guard from a safe distance and then quickly switch to throwing out my Hisuian Goodra, but the last ball actually caught her and she stayed in it. I am NEVER going through that again if I play the game a second time in the future. 🤦♂

On the Zacian one, if you play Pokémon Masters, DEFINITELY try to get Gloria and Zacian. No joke, they are my best Steel-type Sync Pair in that game. Also EX them ASAP if/when you get them.

Combee has a gender difference, in the Gen 8 and 9 games just look for a Combee with a red dot, it's female. Salandit, yeah that one's annoying.

I never even heard of an authentic Sinistea. It seems like a pretty subtle difference.

I have another one:
Pokemon that have the wrong gender that you want them to be. Because you want their gender to fit with their design/aesthetic. Specially If they have a low encounter rate. For example:
Trying to find find a female ralts in gen 3 in the only area it appears to get a female Gardevoir for your team and getting a male one instead.
And the same situation while fishing for a female feebas.
Or getting a shiny female machop. Or a shiny male snorunt when you´re trying to get shiny froslass.
Or getting a shiny male heracross
Or a shiny male Fennekin, Popplio or Sprigatito, considering each of them have one or more members in their evolution lines that have feminine designs (specifically Braixen, Delphox, Brionne, Primarina & Meowscarada). 1/8 * 1/4096 chance full-odds, everybody.
I got like 20 shiny male salandits once...
mine has to be this: searching for a pokemon you wanted to catch for ages, and the ones you encounter the most tend to piss you off... and when you finally do find the one you wanted, itdoesn't have the right thing (in my case, the wrong *gender).
*i have a very specific logic in regards to that.
I like hunting Paras. Stealing their tiny mushrooms.

That and zorua only copies your buddy Pokemon now. Gotta love seeing 2 shiny Salamence with best buddy ribbons on them in the overworld
