I don't think they're liquids? I'm pretty sure they're lights... and it should definitely change in the shinies. It's pretty ridiculous that they don't change at all, it would've made the shinies so much better. I'm personally ok with the future paradox shinies but I do feel like their lights should've changed. They are robots after all so the shinies could just have different lights from the regular ones
The only reason for Gholdengo's shiny being terrible is because he's made of golden coins, even his ability is called "good as gold", so a change that i think would work is making him rusty. He would still be made of gold and maybe more noticeable.
Yeah I tried explaining that to someone and they were very adamant that its lore didnt matter because no other pokemon was like that. some people cant understand design concepts. I think rose gold or a tarnished gold could have worked

It’s hilarious to me that he thinks Houndstone’s shiny is terrible when it makes its head look like a tombstone in dirt surrounded by dead grass. Also I’m pretty sure they don’t put as much thought as you want into shinies because they’re not something most players focus on.
I agree that they probably dont care and they aren't super important but at least make the shiny noticable for hunters. I'm not even a shiny hunter and I think that just making it different is bare minimum.

Charcadet and Armorouge's shinies are fine because they're a reference to Gundam character Char Aznable. In Gundam, Char's real identity is Casval Deikun, who is known for his distinctive blue eyes, and when using his Char Aznable alias, he wears a mask to obscure this. He's also known for using the color red in his mobile suits. Taken together, Charcadet and Armorouge reference Char's preferred color scheme and their shiny forms reference his true identity
Gen 9 has some of the worst shinies and it was great seeing you improve so many of them. Some suggestions I have though is not changing the armor on Armarouge and Ceruledge since that’s how they evolve in game as well as Miraidon since it already looks good imo and it and Koraidon have contrasting shinies.
I like that you made Baxcalibur black. Not only does it really look nice, but he's obviously based on Godzilla, and a common color for the Big G is charcoal black.
10:30 Except since they went out of their way to NOT change any of the Future Paradox's lights I think that was an intentional design decision that should be taken into consideration for any viable rework and considering they operate differently turning on snd off when they sleep and having other different effects And I GREATLY disagree on Miraidon needing a shiny change considering it already looks cool and it being white parallels Koraidon's shiny being black so only changing his looses that relation if Koraidon isn't altered to match Goldehngo's lackluster shiny is probably just logic based, the coins you collected make up its body and they're all gold coins, it's named after gold, it's ability is "Good as Gold", so that color can't really change so it's shiny has to be represented somewhere else (and personally I'd have it be the chest being a significantly different color for both of them, Armarouge and Ceruledge could be the same way as they have to look like the armor they're wearing which is sn external item that wouldn't logically change Changing Charcadet's colors to Ceruledge was a genius idea
I agree with all these Pokémon having mistakes as shinies except for annihilape and every starter except quaquaval. Why didn’t they just make gholdengo silver? Why didn’t they change the lights on the violet paradoxes and ONLY turned the metal chrome? I’m kinda surprised kilowattrel line wasn’t in this. Only change is the black going to a maroon colour or something. Think they could’ve done better.
I like how you turned annihilape's shiny from a more vivid version of the original color palette into a fiery sun look to it which not Only makes him look like its pure rage took over his entire body but also makes it look like a fire fighting type, it's pretty dope honestly
Genuinely a disgusting show that they just dont give a f*ck about the pokemon anymore. Theyre so preoccupied just making the game they have absolutely negative time for the shiny colors. Genuinely disgraceful and insulting from gamefreak to not be better with shinies.
I loved the red Quaquavel so much, if that was its shiny I would go through the horrors of egg hunting for it (ik Masuda method is fairly quick, it's just so freaking boring 💀)
to be honest i really like the sprigatito line as it is, it looks more minty, than the saturated more lime green it is normally, and the purple looks really nice as a highlight for that, and idk ig i like that
Agreed. I even shiny hunted my Annihilape because the blue fits it despite being subtle, like a dead body turning blue not long after death. It definitely doesn't deserve to be lumped into the same category of bad shinies as Maushold or Paldean Tauros, at least you can _tell_ it's shiny, wether it's one's taste or not.
The Ceruledge Shiny you made is phenomenal, and I honestly couldn't believe that they didn't do that. It was such an obvious thing to reverse the colours of ceruledge and armarouge for the shinies. But the flipped Armarouge colours on Ceruledge is fantastic.
My opinion on his redesigns: Sprigatito line looks bad. Fuecoco line looks pretty good. Quaxly looks horrible, too much pink. Armarouge looks nice, Ceruledge looks good. Pink Maushold is very nice. All Annihilape recolours look bad, I suggest you darken the green to make it fit better and not stand out too much. All Tauros look surprisingly good. Bramblin line looks bad. Scovillain looks nice. Houndstone looks fine. Curly giri looks nice, stretchy looks kinda bad. Frigibax line looks kinda ugly, not my thing. Iron Treads looks great. Iron Bundle looks fine. Iron Hands is pretty cool. Iron Jugulis looks bad. Iron Moth looks really nice. Iron Valiant looks meh, the pink green one is ugly. Iron Leaves looks okay. Miraidon looks awful. Gholdengo looks great with silver, it just has to look like actual silver.
0:57 no. not Skeledirge. not in my eyes. 1:55 i would have went for a darker shade of grey - the shade that looks like ash (no; not the anime character XD). and then i remembered the flaming bird on Skeledirge's snout. an ash-coloured Skeledirge, with a fiery chick on its snout? a phoenix rising from a pile of ash. in other words, a darker shade of grey fits even more than i anticipated. 2:05 better than the other pink Water types we got. in fact, it's the ONLY pink Water type that rocks the colour - in my opinion, at least. Swampert would have looked better in mud brown, light brown and moss green. Kyogre would have looked better in black with the streaks being white - since the pokemon already reminds me of an Orca. 2:32 the only difference... is that *tiny* "cut" on their helmet and their eyes!? and to think shinies like Garchomp are bad; Armorouge and Ceruledge don't change colour *at all* other than that spot. 3:35 they're not much better, i see. 4:47 what if the limbs were brown, and the fur red... and the tips of the hair were a brighter, *glowing* red? a nod to Goku's Super Saiyan form, but the red fur is to symbolize rage, with the glowing tips emanating said rage turned into power. or just straight up reference Dragon Ball Z and make Annihilape go Super Saiyan. 5:56 perhaps take the base mon and add blue and purple hues to accentuate the Ghost typing? perhaps apply the hues to the green version of the shinies you made? i'm just throwing it out there. 9:20 as in like Godzilla? that works too. ok, so what i have in mind is VERY specific: a reference to The Scooby Doo Show. one of the monsters, the Snow Beast, is a large white dinosaur with beige arms and red eyes. so let's make Baxcalibur's shiny white with beige "claws" and red eyes; with the sail, face and belly plates being an icy blue. alternatively, let's consult the Wiki - specifically the part where it discusses his origins and etymology: the Origins section mentions the dinosaurs from paleoart (like Zdenek Burian). he could be a greenish blue, in reference to those dinosaurs; his claws could be a dark brown because that's what fossilized dinosaur claws look like. that's the only thing i could think of when i noticed the mentioning of several dinosaurs in Baxcalibur's Origins section; and finally, since Baxcalibur's Etymology section mentions axes, glaives and the sword Excalibur, why not colour his sail, face and plates a metallic grey so it look like he's wearing armour? i'd say it fits better - and it reminds me of Dino-riders, come to think of it.
Grey skeledirge is a good example of how drastically changing the colour, compared to the original colour and design, isnt automatically better just because it's more of a change.
Hot take: i don't mind Ceruledge/Amarouge's shinies because they evolve after getting the armor, so imo it'd made little to no sense for the armor to change colors when they're shiny
Those green fuecoco line shinies go hard, the alternate red/turquoise colors for quaquaval go pretty hard as well I don't really like the pink it looks weird
I swear that everytime there’s some related Pokémon lines or convergent evolutions and their shinies suck, I just feel like groaning because the obvious answer is just right there! Swap the colors between the two Pokémon, it’s that easy!
Nothing anyone can ever say will ever convince me that Armarouge and Ceruledge weren't designed based on X and Zero. To see their shiny being so disappointingly stupid hurts my Nostalgia in the feels.
I think with modern Pokemon designs now more than ever, there's a lot more intentionality I'll call it. Armarouge and Ceruledge for example. The armor they wear is straight up the thing you use to evolve them, it wouldn't make much sense for the armor to change colors just because the Pokemon getting suited up is a different color. Or Gimmighoul and Gholdengo. The entire way you get them is by collecting a bunch of gold coins. Why would it suddenly become silver upon evolution? I also think some of the original shinies in this video are decently clever in their own right. Fuecoco and family being pink is probably a reference to how real world crocs and gators have an affinity towards pink (really). The future Paradoxes are chrome because they haven't been varnished and/or painted yet, but that colorful energy within still keeps them going just fine (not to mention changing only the liquid would be pretty rough since that stuff gets deactivated whenever at rest). Houndstone's shiny more closely resembles a grave on a hill. Even the Shiny Tauros I believe actually use different textures than the base Tauros. I have also heard that apparently in the modern era, it's the designers who choose what the Shiny colors are, and "why fix what isn't broken?" as they say
One thing to point out is that Gamefreak always hand picked shiny colours, there's misinformation that they used an algorithm or some pre-set shift in palette but they've always been picked deliberately
I feel like the Fuecoco line looks WAY better in green than gray, I don't know what you mean by "didn't think it would be a color that many people would like that much". Green shinies aren't inherently bad, they just have to be the right shade to make sense with the design. The boringness of the gray in the other colors just contrasts with the exciting design. Plus, not only does the green reference crocodile colors, but it also references green peppers if you look at Fuecoco as a little chili pepper crocodile.
i disagree with the future paradox shiny changes. they're robots. how are robots supposed to vary in colour? was there a malfunction in the company that made them that miraculously changed the whole paint colour? is their code specifically written to change the colour of the lights from yellow to red if you roll a dice and it lands on 4096? the only shiny that makes sense is chrome, as if the paint has worn off.
the only reason for gholdengos shiny is its name is GOLDEN but if they wanted that intact how about at least its chest around its belt the name still makes sense and it would be more noticeable
It’s odd we still get bad shinies like older gens had the whole it’s system but these are hand picked shinies now someone made that and went sure that looks cool when it’s barely noticeable. The paradox ones the past look good but the future suck it’s chrome, it isn’t all that fun when most of the body is chrome like iron moth why not give it the colours of the present day pokemon so iron moth would have the layout as volcrona The knight/armour line is one of the most disappointing, the eyes change wow what effort. There’s 2 immediate ideas make them grey/silver like knights or swap the colours. Shiny hunting then was ANNOYING AS HELL especially in SV when shinies spawn there’s no sound or animation which in LA there was which was super helpful for hunting especially if it’s a smaller Pokémon or one with a less noticeable shiny form but no you could’ve walked past many shines in your play through and not even notice

It's pretty ridiculous that they don't change at all, it would've made the shinies so much better. I'm personally ok with the future paradox shinies but I do feel like their lights should've changed. They are robots after all so the shinies could just have different lights from the regular ones
@@pikasheep The problem is, if they are the only shiny cue, they would be impossible to spot when they're sleeping.
@@pikasheep idk man, they look like science liquids to me
The only reason for Gholdengo's shiny being terrible is because he's made of golden coins, even his ability is called "good as gold", so a change that i think would work is making him rusty. He would still be made of gold and maybe more noticeable.
A rusty gold wouldn't make much sense because Gold doesn't rust, instead they could have gone with something like rose gold.
Yeah I tried explaining that to someone and they were very adamant that its lore didnt matter because no other pokemon was like that. some people cant understand design concepts. I think rose gold or a tarnished gold could have worked
@@JCash493 or white gold since that is a thing so the shiny could just as easily be a silvery platinum colour and work well without contradicting anything with its lore
Or just make Gholdengo a rosegold or white gold colour?? They're all still shades of gold.
11:23 *shows the coolest changed shiny in the entire video in the bottom corner* "the green works just fine in my opinion"
Oh I ADORE the shinies you made for the sprigatito line!!
Greavard and Houndstone don't have bad shinies at all, but your versions look cool as well
I agree. I do like the black shiny fix but honestly the actual shiny is an A or B tier in my opinion.
Not good enough for S tier like Koraidon.
GameFreak was like: "This gen the shiny Pokémon can be seen in the wild without the sparkles. Let's make a lot of shinies that are nearly identical to their original colors!".
I was so happy to hear the “DISSAPOINTED” sound again.
Excuses excuses
It also kinda looks like a sheep dog I think. Like Shep from Animal Crossing. It's shiny kinda reminds me of him. I feel like Game Freak should know that there's a whole community dedicated to hunting shinies. It may seem like many people don't care about hunting shinies but there's quite a lot of UA-camrs dedicated to doing that. I feel like the shiny hunting community is pretty big so there's no excuse for making these shinies so bad
@@pikasheep Dude, adults are 20% of Pokémon’s audience at best. Of that 20%, less than 5% are dedicated shiny hunters. Why would they focus on such a small part of their demographic?
@@primrosevale19951) saying you have to actively search out shinies to care about their appearance is a false equivalency, and 2) driving people to actively avoid a permanent feature is, _at best,_ an undesirable outcome.
I'm pretty sure Shiny Scovillain is supposed to be a reference to Mario and Luigi
Fun fact: I call shiny Iron Bundle Iron Bin
I like that you made Baxcalibur black. Not only does it really look nice, but he's obviously based on Godzilla, and a common color for the Big G is charcoal black.
not only that, his hands are basically the same shade of blue as his atomic breath
@minkusaurus I actually did not notice that?
The worst part about these barely changing shinies is that when you hunt for them in overworkd your gonna miss them since they barely change
9:41 but Alex, Everything is chrome in the future!
10:30 Except since they went out of their way to NOT change any of the Future Paradox's lights I think that was an intentional design decision that should be taken into consideration for any viable rework and considering they operate differently turning on snd off when they sleep and having other different effects
And I GREATLY disagree on Miraidon needing a shiny change considering it already looks cool and it being white parallels Koraidon's shiny being black so only changing his looses that relation if Koraidon isn't altered to match
Goldehngo's lackluster shiny is probably just logic based, the coins you collected make up its body and they're all gold coins, it's named after gold, it's ability is "Good as Gold", so that color can't really change so it's shiny has to be represented somewhere else (and personally I'd have it be the chest being a significantly different color for both of them, Armarouge and Ceruledge could be the same way as they have to look like the armor they're wearing which is sn external item that wouldn't logically change
Changing Charcadet's colors to Ceruledge was a genius idea
I agree with all these Pokémon having mistakes as shinies except for annihilape and every starter except quaquaval.
Why didn’t they just make gholdengo silver? Why didn’t they change the lights on the violet paradoxes and ONLY turned the metal chrome?
I’m kinda surprised kilowattrel line wasn’t in this. Only change is the black going to a maroon colour or something. Think they could’ve done better.
Brown Maushold looks like a bunch of Calico Critters and I love it
*frantically checking if this was posted on April 1st*
Finally, I can be proud of this generations shinies lol
Why do most of the great Pokemon get massacred by their shinies?
I like how you turned annihilape's shiny from a more vivid version of the original color palette into a fiery sun look to it which not Only makes him look like its pure rage took over his entire body but also makes it look like a fire fighting type, it's pretty dope honestly
There is absolutely no excuse for Gen 8 and especially Gen 9 to have such an alarming amount of lazy shinies.
Genuinely a disgusting show that they just dont give a f*ck about the pokemon anymore. Theyre so preoccupied just making the game they have absolutely negative time for the shiny colors. Genuinely disgraceful and insulting from gamefreak to not be better with shinies.
Bro literally turned houndstone into SCP 628
OH YEAH 😂😂😂
I loved the red Quaquavel so much, if that was its shiny I would go through the horrors of egg hunting for it (ik Masuda method is fairly quick, it's just so freaking boring 💀)
Yeah
I unironically love that yellow skeledirge, and the red quaquaval looks awesome!
This is really the worst generation of shinies.
We need to get someone who will make and fix all shines and make them all black no matter what, every shiny should be black
to be honest i really like the sprigatito line as it is, it looks more minty, than the saturated more lime green it is normally, and the purple looks really nice as a highlight for that, and idk ig i like that
I think Anihilape's shiny looks fine as is, not every shining needs to be flashy
Honestly I think houndstones default shiny is perfect. It really looked like a graveyard. Could be colored a bit darker and more vibrant though
The Ceruledge Shiny you made is phenomenal, and I honestly couldn't believe that they didn't do that. It was such an obvious thing to reverse the colours of ceruledge and armarouge for the shinies. But the flipped Armarouge colours on Ceruledge is fantastic.
Honestly, I really like the shiny for meowscarada. Subtle doesn't always mean bad.
Scovillan needed to have different colored Peppers 100% !!! It was the easiest one to make and they still messed it up !!! GAMEFREAK !!!
Now we know Bro doesn't know how to cook most of the time
By experience, even if shiny Gengar barely changes I still love him
honestly...hear me out...autumn cats
YES
@@koffinglolface1000 yes
The black hair shiny Greaveyard instantly reminded me of Horrible History's Death, and now I want it to be real so bad 😭😭
Changing the colour of the red liquid on the future paradox pokemon doesnt make sense in their lore
They definitely missed an opportunity on the pepper pokemon - the other pepper colours is a no brainer imo
Wow, you fixed these Shinies almost as well as I want somebody to fix my marriage
Nintendo/Game Freak should definately hire you and redesign ALL Pokemon shinies
Also nah, Sprigatito's shiny changes enough to have a mint with purple. Perfect subtle compared to the yellower green and bright pink
My opinion on his redesigns:
Sprigatito line looks bad.
9:20 as in like Godzilla? that works too.
ok, so what i have in mind is VERY specific: a reference to The Scooby Doo Show.
one of the monsters, the Snow Beast, is a large white dinosaur with beige arms and red eyes. so let's make Baxcalibur's shiny white with beige "claws" and red eyes; with the sail, face and belly plates being an icy blue.
alternatively, let's consult the Wiki - specifically the part where it discusses his origins and etymology:
the Origins section mentions the dinosaurs from paleoart (like Zdenek Burian). he could be a greenish blue, in reference to those dinosaurs;
his claws could be a dark brown because that's what fossilized dinosaur claws look like. that's the only thing i could think of when i noticed the mentioning of several dinosaurs in Baxcalibur's Origins section;
and finally, since Baxcalibur's Etymology section mentions axes, glaives and the sword Excalibur, why not colour his sail, face and plates a metallic grey so it look like he's wearing armour? i'd say it fits better - and it reminds me of Dino-riders, come to think of it.
Grey skeledirge is a good example of how drastically changing the colour, compared to the original colour and design, isnt automatically better just because it's more of a change.
Hot take: i don't mind Ceruledge/Amarouge's shinies because they evolve after getting the armor, so imo it'd made little to no sense for the armor to change colors when they're shiny
the fact that tatsugiri has 3 forms means i have probably walked right past a shiny without ever even noticing just thinking it was another form
I think the future paradox shinies look really nice as a set, so changing some and not all of them would make them worse I think.
Those green fuecoco line shinies go hard, the alternate red/turquoise colors for quaquaval go pretty hard as well I don't really like the pink it looks weird
Armorouge, Ceruledge, and Gholdengo are all summed up in a few simple words:
“OH MY GOODNESS… SQUIDWAARD!!!”
I swear that everytime there’s some related Pokémon lines or convergent evolutions and their shinies suck, I just feel like groaning because the obvious answer is just right there! Swap the colors between the two Pokémon, it’s that easy!
Gotta say shiny dipplin looks amazing
It got Drpplin
Dude I think GameFreak needs to hire you as their shiny Pokémon creator cause your color schemes were awesome as heck
"Gamefreak needs someone new on there team to help pick their shiny colors" and double thier current employees
Inverted Maushold will haunt my nightmares for the next few weeks.
The first meridon shiny that you make looked like deku from mha
I was immediately lost when I saw Yamper and Iron Jugulis at the beginning.
shiny mr rime is awesome,it gets decolored to look like its black and white, like chaplin's movies
How gen 9 shinies had these abysmal shinies are beyond me, but they should hire you. HIRE THIS MAN!!
what if the sprigatito line was like yellow and dark colored something?
I really liked what you did to Ceruledge, my fav by far.
gen 9 shinies were aweful.
I haven’t even seen Shiny Armorouge and Ceruledge until this video. What the actually hell were they thinking with those “shinies”
Squidward: Hey, what's going on? Why is everything... chrome?
Me: Everything is chrome in the future! 8O
I hope they do hire you because clearly everyone at game freak is smoking crack for some of these shinies to be accepted
Ceruledge just becomes zero from the megaman series, and I love it.
the only reason for gholdengos shiny is its name is GOLDEN but if they wanted that intact how about at least its chest around its belt the name still makes sense and it would be more noticeable
Bro looked like he was about to cry talking about ceruledge and armarouge
It’s odd we still get bad shinies like older gens had the whole it’s system but these are hand picked shinies now someone made that and went sure that looks cool when it’s barely noticeable. The paradox ones the past look good but the future suck it’s chrome, it isn’t all that fun when most of the body is chrome like iron moth why not give it the colours of the present day pokemon so iron moth would have the layout as volcrona
The knight/armour line is one of the most disappointing, the eyes change wow what effort.
