GSP has my respect but that knife advice is terrible and will get you killed. For a knife you force distance and remove your shirt and span it between your hands. Then let the attacker swing. Block the blade with the shirt pulled taut. Eventually it'll tangle in the shirt and they either release it or sacrifice control of an arm.
" When you're in an argument and you feel the heat rise, just eat first", strange advice but it's GSP, been carrying a snickers around in my pocket all week
Right, I have now watched that video in full carefully and absorbed the lessons thoroughly. I am now 100% confident that if I am ever involved in a street fight I will be able to get my ass kicked just as before.
Saying that "The minute you touch me, you are declaring war", taken literally, is terrible advice. It flies in the face of how the world works. Simply touching someone can mean a lot of things. Responding to a touch with a non-proportional response is generally unwise. Is it wise to escalate? As a general rule, no. The other person may have a range of intentions. Example #1: a drunk person bumps into you on accident. Intention to fight: unlikely. Example 2: dude pushes his finger into your sternum. Intention to intimidate or fight: high. Now, if your intuition says you are about to get attacked, you can choose step away. Do that. Don't try to diffuse a boiling situation with words -- by the time emotions have got that hot, they don't cool down easily. Rationality is probably a lost cause. Trying to diffuse the situation only with words is risky. Step back, use body language to show you aren't a threat. Be the wiser person. Your anger and ego might not like these non-violent options, but the violent outcomes tend to be worse, even if you "win".
@@sepg5084 Reasonable people can see the context differently. Sure, I get his general gist, which is: use the element of surprise and don't hold back. But he doesn't discuss the consequences of fighting (winning or losing) nor alternatives to the Krav Maga style eye and groan strikes. A video of this length can't cover much, I get it. Still, I find this one somewhat irresponsible. I think Lex could have done better in editing. This is not his first rodeo.
@@burts6896 He invited a fighter, not a non-conflict street negotiator to his program. So your comments here make zero sense in the context of this specific video. And I am not even talking that they dicuss a scenario when you WILL get hit anyways. Stepping back especially against an aggressive tall person gives him a great distancne for a kick, very cimfortable to hit you in the groin while you move back. Please, don't give any advice anymore. :)
Love Georges St-Pierre! Not only is he one of the greatest fighters to ever step inside the cage, but he is a humble classy individual who is always willing to help others, especially those who were bullied like he was growing up. There's so much benefit & wisdom people with his skills can provide to others. Thanks for having him on your show, Lex!
I laughed so hard i thought he would of said first thing to do is to avoid the conflict and de-escalate the situation but no my man went straight for the eyes haha
@@veridianr2490 this is true. Years ago when I was younger my ex got threatened by a group of guys on her birthday in London. Me being the ultra male had to do something. Was completely outnumbered, had something to prove. Did well, they couldn’t fight all that well and I managed to stay up. That’s when one of them pulled a knife. By gods grace I have no idea how - maybe due to the sheer amount of adrenaline I managed to fight him off without getting harmed. After, I felt like such a strong man and was so proud of myself. Now I look back and I’m embarrassed, it could’ve gone so fucking wrong so easily and I would’ve left the love of my life bleeding out on the pavement whilst she cried. Best thing I could’ve done would be to tell her to ignore them, get her and her friends safely away and just leave.

He also basically ran down the second guys teachings from cobra kai to Daniel, if your opponent cannot see he cannot fight, if he cannot breath he cannot fight, if he cannot stand he cannot fight. You take away any of these things from your opponent and you win the fight.
@@hi._.golgo137 I think he said Bas Rutten. Bas Rutten is a retired MMA fighter and used to make videos about street fighting. I guess he's implying that Bas Rutten would be the better street fighter between him and Francis Ngannou lol.
Yeah, it's nice huh. All the black belts (well most it seems) tend to be very nice and know to set a good example, maybe because of the process it took to get there, but we know it's also personality and upbringing to or many more would be more like this :)
For whatever reason I was smiling and cracking up the whole video love these two guys and love seeing them interact. George seems really healthy mentally and physically
i wouldn't say he's "one of the most agressive fighters" dude has more "W's" come down to decision's defending his title than any other champ in MMA. doesn't mean he's not in the conversation for top 5... cause he certainly is. i just wouldn't call him "agressive."
GSP as a champion was like the opposite of aggressive fighter, someone who just tries to break opponents with ruthless offense, he was very calculating, found out opponents weakness and exploited them, an insane athlete with amazing takedowns and timing, dominant top control, and he had a heck of a jab
@@jacobsvensson8193 when I said agressive I didn't mean Mike Perry agressive, I meant GSP agressive. Calculating, timing, countering, but from first second until last he was putting his rapid tempo on his opponents. I rewatched his highlights few days ago, and realized GSP was freaking relentless, overwhelming his opponents with fast tempo, but yet was very careful and patient with his shots especially.
GSP talked about speaking to his childhood bully when he got older and was actually really nice to him. Though I know this to be more common now, people with this strong energy had a time in their life that they felt as weak as a feather. As a kid who was bullied, GSP helps me understand that those moments can make us stronger, it’s all in how your perceive it! Lol thanks guys

Best tactic to me is to avoid fighting at all. There is nothing wrong about it especially if you are not an experienced fighter. Street fights are dirty and without rules, so you never know if your opponent has someone in the back, weapon, etc. So most of the time it is better to run.
Idk about what he said tho 🤣🤣 he said he'd rather face francis ngannou in a street fight, than bas rutten. While everyone knows how humble GSP is lol, I love seeing all these comments saying how humble he is, on a video where he’s not humble and exclaims several times he’s UFC champion and to not fuck with him 😂
Valuable information. We all basically know this. The difference between ‘basically’ knowing it and actually using it in an emergency is the fact that we don’t ever apply it, especially on a day to day basis when training for our next UFC fight. The key for this info to be helpful to the average person watching this video is to ‘study/practice/memorize’ it. That’s when the information becomes MOST valuable.
That's why I play-wrestle my 6yo daughter every day. Even when I'm tired after a days work she jumps me enthusiastically and starts to work me to the ground, it's great :) She will have so much muscle memory when she's grown up that she'll be able to perform under stress and be safe.
The part of the video about going for the eyes so quickly was not persuasive nor useful. First, avoiding a fight is preferable. Second, the context and environment is key. Sure, there are times when you "fight for your life", but this is not *all the time*. Where in the video does GSP talk about the context? Nuance is not something that GSP communicates well here in this video.
Love how GSP incorporated Bas at the very beginning. This (to me) explains how there are multiple goats and how they learn and grow from one another. Just the throwback to Bas’s bar defense video from GSP says enough (along with how he says he would NOT want to cross an indivisible of Bas’s potential in a street fight). GSP is the face of The Future of MMA by recognizing the past.
@@pondacres that is awesome you got to train with him! I really enjoy his witty comedy… the man is hysterical! Like this: ua-cam.com/video/QGjPnLjvvrs/v-deo.html
So much of fighting is muscle memory and practice. Anytime you ever listen to someone teach self-defense, listen closely. You'll hear a lot of: if the opponent does this, then you do this. In a real life fight situation, you don't have time to think through that stuff. What GSP shows here is a mastery of joint locks, striking, and other offensive techniques that comes from years if not decades of practice. He's right about a lot of core principles: 1) don't fight fair. There's no ref, so strike the groin, the eyes, the neck, the soft spots where you can inflict maximum damage. In a fight for your life, you fight dirty. 2) Avoid fighting weapons, especially blades. You will get cut. It's a matter of who gets it worse, you or the bad guy. Avoid if at all possible. 3) If you can't avoid, put yourself in a position to win. Strike quickly and leave. Anyway, loved the video. I'm always a fan of GSP, and a fan of the insights you get when you interview. (10 month "late" comment for the algorithm)
Re: "Avoid fighting weapons, especially blades." ... Agreed. But how do you control that? You can't. You are guessing at best. Fights escalate. People have weapons you didn't see. Or weapons are found: like beer-bottles or pool sticks or whatever.
Everyone else: "but what of the way of the peace? The peaceful way?" GSP: "you gotta cause a lot of damage, so you must blind them and suffocate them into submission."
Being taught how to inflict the most damage to a a random bully on the street picking a fight. By an intelligent gentleman who doesn’t go looking to bully anyone. Love it.
Man, I just love GSP, he's always just so damn likeable! Greatest Of All Time, but so damn humble, down to earth, ridiculously nice guy, and such a great, dorky sense of humour. I'd be amazed if you could find a single human being alive who *wouldn't* want to be friends with this guy.
I had the pleasure of meeting GSP a couple of times when I was living in Montréal and training BJJ with Bruno Fernandes at Gracie Barra. He’s such a kind and down to earth guy. Takes his training very seriously, and none of that macho BS that is so common in UFC.
@@polderrican Yes, I trained in his first gym in Montréal for about two years. He taught a few of the classes, but most of the classes I attended were taught by brown and black belt students. Prof. Fernandes was usually present during the classes to evaluate our progress, conduct belt promotions, etc. I only met GSP two times: once at a nightclub, and once at the Gracie Barra gym.
I'm lowkey upset that GSP doesn't have his own channel. I think he has a lot to teach and share. I'm seeing many fighters have their own channel and make content.
The best self defense, is to not join a cu lt that says violence produces afterlives. And if the attacker is in a afterlife professing cu lt and they usually are, then your mental judo can shape them like a pretzel because they are obviously very maliable.

i think the most important skill for street fighting is being able to remain calm under pressure (after being able to run away of course). knowing how to fight is one thing, but remembering under pressure is another thing
“Eat first and leave the scene.” Last time when I tried to do so, waiter made a big deal out of it, restaurant manager was about to call cops, my wife was hella angry and I got to pay anyway. Not recommended behavior. Remember kids: eat, pay then leave.
Its very stupid to attack first just cuz you assume they will. And with assualt charges you just f yourself. Just bait a jab and press charges for easy money, besides why jab then run away? Either run immediately or full fight if you gonna tweak out and risk jail time
Thanks for this, aggression is everywhere in our world. And having a standard offensive action that can be taught to my daughters and son, quells my fears in their safety.
@@HitlerlandBoi It might be an idea for you to read about Sparta actual history.. How they rounded up their 'wild/savage' children that had survived the terror that was inflicted upon them... I think those children complained plenty.
@@BaconRecoil You're much more likely to be murdered or assaulted if you draw a weapon on someone in defense. Once a firearm is drawn there's no longer the "flight" mechanism in the mind of the assailant, there's only a fight or die mechanism that takes over in the brain. If you do have a firearm, keep it hidden and don't draw it until they approach you directly with a weapon. You're best off to keep it hidden and just hint at it's existence by putting your hand in your jacket, etc. It's all psychological. Unless of course you want your children to get charged with manslaughter for shooting an unarmed man. Even if they WERE going to get in a fist fight, there's no proof of that without a weapon and the ends don't justify the means. This obsession with the firearm really has caused a lot of hubris, idiocy and tens of thousands of kids of prison for years on end who took another persons life out of what they culturally were taught was fine to do - to take another mans life because he was having a bad day and started screaming at you. Ask any public defense attorney and they'll tell you where giving an 18 year a weapon will get them. Sorry to disrupt your previously held belief that taking another mans life is legal and just dandy, because they're the "other". You'll also see your child sued into abject poverty by the person they shot, or the family of the victim. (They became the victim, of course, because you made it that way instead of just teaching your child to run away from unarmed assailants instead of reaching for a firearm.) They won't be as lucky as a police officer who can just claim he saw him reaching for a knife but it was just a cell phone.
@@RobVollat 1. Most criminals look for victims, not fights. 2. In most states it’s illegal to brandish your weapon unless your life is in imminent danger. 3. Why are you just assuming parents are going to hand out firearms without having an understanding of state laws? 4. Every time you fire a gun in self defense you’re risking your freedom. Risk your freedom or have your life ended. The choice is yours if you’re carrying. 5. If you’re pulling out a gun cause a fist fight is about to happen, you’re probably not cut out to be a responsible gun owner.

I would never have paid attention to UFC if it wasn’t for this guy. GSP literally legitimized the sport because he was never an a**hole and is such a nice guy that people started to think it wasn’t just a bunch of crazy Joe Rogan’s in this sport. GSP is a role model for life.
Whereas nowadays people hate when fighters are humble and kind, they call them “goody two shoes”. People hate them unless they are super rude like mcgregor. Absolute casuals
All of this goes out the window if you can’t remain cool under pressure. The most important thing would be training yourself to remain calm but also knowing these things. Big thanks to lex and the Powerful GSP!!
Ah yes master Ryan, we must always remain calm when a random drunk smashes a bottle over our heads or sucker punches us for no reason… Can’t let that make us excited or we won’t win the fight Just amazing advice master 🙄
Well that's what training is for jerk. You know what prepares one for being calm while being punched in the face? Getting punched in the face. Muscle memory doesn't leave you just because you're not calm. I can't even remove the top of a bottle and take a drink from it without bringing my other hand holding the cap up to the side of my head. That muscle memory won't allow me to. Stress doesn't make you forget how to breathe or move or pump blood. You don't learn how to fight. You train your body to fight.
Learning martial arts and being confident with your abilities will help you be calm and defuse the situation, BUT not if you get physically abused or hit. I was so patient but I got assaulted while trying to explain myself, so can't do anything about it but to give it to him, the power of takedown and BJJ, lol.

GSP is an great guy!! My experience in street fights as a former nightclub bouncer is that people with knives try to stab instead of slash.. (I think it is an emotional thing) either way.. even fighting people.. the hardest thing you can hit someone is with the pavement.. followed by a light pole or car.. I worked that side gig for 3 1/2 years and never threw a punch.. stomped a few.. sure.. but mostly just taking advantage of the attack.. everyone watches UFC.. everyone thinks you have to strike.. as a former wrestler it was bon appetit
@@loverofhumanity Not hard at all and I have done it many times in training. The knife is a contact weapon, so you just roll back on the ground and keep the attacker at a distance from your vital organs while you pull out your gun. That's in case there is nowhere to run or you are not a good runner. Otherwise run, get enough distance and again pull out the gun. If he manages to slash the sole of your shoe or even better - cut your leg, this along with the gunshot wounds going at an upwards angle is what will make for the best outcome with the prosecution later.
I would pay to train with you. Greco Roman wrestling is underrated. People think oh how can you win by pinning shoulders there are no submissions. In the ancient world opponents were either maimed or killed. It was a fight to the death.
@@-unascertained- nah but that works against him too. In the cage it’s as close to impossible as anything for you to even touch him but in the street you can use weapons, rocks, dust anything you have.
I know this is all hypothetical, but I would have to guess it's damn near impossible to get into a street fight against a laid back cat like GSP unless you were pushing the issue yourself -- then he would hit you 3 times on your way to the ground and he would 'leave the scene.' I'd imagine fighting him in a sanctioned match wouldn't be dissimilar 😁
Fantastic advice about reacting to aggression. The key is always (1) situational awareness and (2) staying thoughtful: evaluate, assess, react within the law.
@@gaoxiaen1 The law is the 'law of self-defence'. Typically, you can only use force if they are a genuine threat. And then only enough force until the other person is no longer a threat, and which is proportional to their threat to you. Else anything more (to punish them) means you are now the aggressor, and will face assault charges, or worse if you inflict worse. You need to know the legal limits or face police action, even though you started out as the defender...
@@GreenTekGuru If they try to stand up, they are a threat. Especially if you tell them not to get up. After they've lost vision, there is no reason to get up. They are at your mercy. It is their own stupidity that earns them more injury.
@@gaoxiaen1 Just standing up is an alert to back-up, with a ‘fence’ / distance response. Then assess them as a risk. Then react accordingly. Obviously different if they launch at you from a seated position.
Even if you kill them, you won't get a long sentence. Manslaughter, at worst. Fear (being smaller) and loss of self control (It seemed like the thing to do at the time) are factors in your sentence. Better judged by twelve than carried by six. You might even get by with just probation.
If you're studying AI, let me recommend a little hidden gem of an indie film called Terminator 2: Judgement Day. It'll tell you everything you need to know about the field.
The best self-defense is always self-awareness. Be aware of your surroundings, and get out of a bad situation before it happens. We all know through intuition of sorts, that something bad is coming
I've been in various types of confrontations. There are different types of street. There's squaring up (ego brawls), there's getting jumped (trying to survive someone hitting you from behind etc), there's being a bouncer for corporate (de-escalation or you get fired and possibly sued) and working within mental health (get attacked and using basic grappling only). But in my experience with all of those (both sober and young and buzzed) I think MMA is a good clue to know when to apply what

2 big difference between street fight and MMA: - Potential presence of weapons (knife, beer bottle, piece of rock, anything other than bare fist) - Multiple opponents If the fight is fair, and the above 2 are not an issue, then it is largely the same as in the octagon. Otherwise it is about keeping distance, keep all opponents on the same direction, and leave the scene as soon as possible. Krav-maga is really good at these. As for fighting style, avoid kicks, as it can easily backfire. Maybe push kick to create distance. Boxing is effective there. Avoid going down, but most street fight end up on the ground anyway, so knowing BJJ is essential.
GSP will always be my all time favorite MMA fighter, what a class act and noble fighter (as he tells me to knee someone in the nuts and 'just leave'). LoL
Thanks for this Lex, always enjoyed your programs and as a martial artist myself, adding a bit of self defence to this one, made it more interesting to me and may well just have saved a few of your subscribers lives! As knives were mentioned and my art is blade orientated, from my own perspective, while it's always better to maintain distance and get away if you can, when cornered and forced to defend yourself, the golden rule is, be as close as you can to a gun and as far away as possible from a knife. A gun can kill you at any range, so you stand more chance of hitting/disarming the assailant when close. If you knock the person down, make sure they aren't getting up again, pick up the weapon and take it to the police, so the attacker cannot shoot you as you run away. Don't you just hate it in the movies, when people fighting for their lives leave weapons behind, or don't take the gun off their assailant when they have the chance, so the assassin gets up and shoots them later!!! With knives, unless they throw the blade, a knife can only kill you up close, keep your distance to avoid being stabbed, use your long range weapons lead leg kick and jab and use the Bruce Lee, Inosanto JKD style of hitting and blocking at the same time. As a last resort if a blade comes in don't just watch it stab you, grab the assailants wrist in both hands and use your free body parts, knees, kicks, stamps, head butt and bight etc to destroy the attacker. Alternatively swing them around and throw them into something hard like a door or wall. Most importantly, in any self defence situation, always use a weapon of some kind as this is your best chance and it may also deter an attacker from coming close, so you can get away! When I was first told this by my teacher, I thought that sounds cowardly, but the truth is, self defence means defending yourself and your loved ones' without risking your health or serious injury', some people are highly trained, so even if you know how to fight, without a weapon you will have to be at your best to beat them.. For this reason, always use a weapon, consider what you are carrying pens, keys, bag etc, or grab a bottle, shoe, rolled up magazine, a stick, your belt or even a coat etc and swing it around to keep them away, then use your kicks to the groin, jabs to the eyes when the opportunity arises and follow up with hard hits. Lastly, you are surrounded by hard fixed weapons perfect fro smashing people in to, doors, the wall, lamp posts, the floor, vehicles and other objects, slam you opponent into them and if they are really trying to kill you, make sure they aren't capable of getting up again before you run away. As you saw in John Wick, any weapon is a good weapon, even a 'Fk'g pencil' :0) Keep up the great work.
I think he means that only in the case of inevitable confrontation with someone wielding a weapon, then it would make sense to get as close as possible, if it can be avoided then by all means RUN.

As a kid my oldest brother would tell me stories of an uncle that could kick a knife out of someone's hand that tried attacking him. So I practiced the kick a lot and one day a kid pulled a knife on me trying to intimidate me and I instinctually kicked and kicked the knife out of his hand. He just stood there in awe because it happened so quick.
People forget that Karate has plenty of moves that specifically target the groin, eyes, and other specifically vulnerable areas. Because these are illegal in MMA Karate loses a lot of its potential there but in a street fight Karate is lethal as hell.
The worst part about street fights is that there are usually weapons involved. Of course there's always honorable street fighters, but the majority are cowards who will bring a gun or a knife to a street fight. So it's best to just not get involved in a street fight in the first place.
I was wondering if anyone was going to throw this golden advice out there. There are just too many unknown variables for a street fight to reliably go your way. Weapons like you mentioned, the other guy being a one man wrecking machine, the aggressors friends helping, or better yet someone is recording you take the first strike with poor audio and now you’re legally the aggressor 🤷🏻♂️
Dude, I've never heard anyone explain my fist fight philosophy so well. I always let them go first, once they do my hands are untied and I go very hard, very fast. Bruce Lee said if a fight last more than three seconds you lost.... Not sure if he really said that but it does ring true. I super like the hand posture, hopefully I'll remember that if I ever fist fight again....I'm 50 now so hopefully not. Time to put away childish things. Proved myself plenty, now I don't care as much.
Getting sucker punched first is one of the things that got me off the hook with the prosecution. They took me and the attacker to the medical examiner and that little shit was claiming that he had punched me with little force and I had dropped because I was a weakling. Not what the examiner concluded based mainly on the state of his hand, after it meeting my thick skull. A fight is a fight, but what comes after is no fun so better to look like the victim and not the aggressor.

GSP has my respect but that knife advice is terrible and will get you killed. For a knife you force distance and remove your shirt and span it between your hands. Then let the attacker swing. Well that is how it is they are no magical technic you can just learn from a video on UA-cam.
Don’t forget to wear a suit gotta look classy while getting your ass kicked
Remember, it's all about the eyes, blind tyhem 4 life
Finally a realistic self defense lesson. "The minute you touch me, you are declaring war" raw line

He has a sharp, rational mindset. Gtfo with that "humbleness" bullshit. You barely grasp the extent of that word's meaning.

Self defense instructor: Avoid or Deflect.
GSP: Go for the eyes.
Then the balls
The part of the video about going for the eyes so quickly was not persuasive nor useful. First, avoiding a fight is preferable. Second, the context and environment is key. Nuance is not something that GSP communicates well here in this video.

(They became the victim, of course, because you made it that way instead of just teaching your child to run away from unarmed assailants instead of reaching for a firearm.) Well that's what training is for jerk. You know what prepares one for being calm while being punched in the face? Getting punched in the face. Muscle memory doesn't leave you just because you're not calm.
The hands up and body angle away from center line is crucial as well.. Never want to make a big target
What the fuck are you talking about?
so what do you do if they try to stab in your opinion? That's a very hard movement to defend against imho.
This is ruthless 😂 I honestly think I'd rather be in the cage with George than against him on the street😦

Git Dee Eyez, Git Dee Groin.
I like how GSP advocates the finger jab to the throat instead of punching, was definitely not expecting that 😂
Fantastic advice about reacting to aggression. The key is always (1) situational awareness and (2) staying thoughtful: evaluate, assess, react within the law.
I agree, but fuck the law. Go with your training and instincts. Better judged by twelve than carried by six.
Keep up the consistency lex. I look up to you and switching to an AI major in my studies. Wish you the best!

Best of luck in your studies
If you're studying AI, let me recommend a little hidden gem of an indie film called Terminator 2: Judgement Day. It'll tell you everything you need to know about the field.
The best self-defense is always self-awareness. Be aware of your surroundings, and get out of a bad situation before it happens. We all know through intuition of sorts, that something bad is coming
Best self-defense is putting distance between you and danger. flight over fight.
The best self defence is self offence
Mark Normand over GSP ;)
These 2 awesome dudes put a smile on my face today.
So awesome to hear an actual fighter give you tips without you being skeptical
glad gsp gave us his opinion. so many idiots out there think jumping guard is a good form of self defense.
I love GSP. He's been one of my fav fighters since he came on the scene.
Agreed. He's been my celebrity crush since forever.
Idk who he's with now, but he'd be so much happier with me for sure! 🤣🤣🤣
@@britannybrumley7364 😂
I've been in various types of confrontations. There are different types of street. There's squaring up (ego brawls), there's getting jumped (trying to survive someone hitting you from behind etc), there's being a bouncer for corporate (de-escalation or you get fired and possibly sued) and working within mental health (get attacked and using basic grappling only). But in my experience with all of those (both sober and young and buzzed) I think MMA is a good clue to know when to apply what
honestly, it's rare when I believe someone over the internet on the matter of fighting. You successfully convinced me that you know what you're talking about
@@pawa7714 uh oh my feelings are hurt. You're very strong leaving a critical comment on youtube. Really...strong...

@@jdt8983 well it's all good anyway mate, I was just confused because earlier other people were attacking me online as well, although I was being nice there too. Perhaps I need to work on my delivery
2 big difference between street fight and MMA:
- Potential presence of weapons (knife, beer bottle, piece of rock, anything other than bare fist)
- Multiple opponents
If the fight is fair, and the above 2 are not an issue, then it is largely the same as in the octagon.
GSP. Multi-year champion with class and sportsmanship. One of my favorites.
GSP will always be my all time favorite MMA fighter, what a class act and noble fighter (as he tells me to knee someone in the nuts and 'just leave'). LoL
Sometimes that's what ya got to do

GSP is an honor to my province of Québec! Nice video, thank you!
As you saw in John Wick, any weapon is a good weapon, even a 'Fk'g pencil' :0)
Keep up the great work.
I think the staff is best yet most benign looking weapon aka the spear or Donatello
@@SmartDumbNerdyCool yeah that's why i am always carrying my 1.5m staff everywhere i go. it's a real pain in the club though
How do you find time to master the blade while balancing reddit and your waifu? Truly impressive man
Very sensible advice. Thank you.
4:20 “you wanna make sure you get close to the weapon”
advice that sounds very different depending on your level of training
I think he means that only in the case of inevitable confrontation with someone wielding a weapon, then it would make sense to get as close as possible, if it can be avoided then by all means RUN.
"I would rather fight Francis Ngannou than Bas Rutten in a streetfight...." says so much. Bas is a bad bad man
So basically he'd rather just be knocked out quickly
I mean Bas 15 years ago I'd agree but now with his nerve damage and T-rex arms he's not as dangerous as Ngannou in any circumstances.
@@Jon-lw6dn GSP is not a HW. Francis would have a tough time hitting GSP because much lighter than any heavyweights which makes him much faster.
@@johnbloom1109 all he needs is to grab him and then he could even beat Bas with GSP.
why did he say that? I dont understand...
GSP known for being one of the nicest most respectful mma champion ever, just told us to strike first and cause as much damage as possible the moment someone touches you in an argument, i love it.

A giant battle axe also works pretty well, and the severed heads of fallen enemies around your belt also doubles as a pretty good deterrent and coin purse. Tricky part is getting through TSA with it, but I normally just say it’s my emotional support axe.

That's right Melinda just gouge em in the eyes and kick em in the balls
Georges is always a class act 🍁
"If you feel tensions rising, and fear a fight may be coming, the best way to avoid the fight is by gouging out the potential aggressors eyes, neutralizing their breathing and swallowing with a chop to the throat, and finishing them with a powerful strike to the genitals, ensuring their resentment cannot be passed on into their children." GSP is ALWAYS a class and and a very kind and decent man!
People forget that Karate has plenty of moves that specifically target the groin, eyes, and other specifically vulnerable areas. Because these are illegal in MMA Karate loses a lot of its potential there but in a street fight Karate is lethal as hell.
Appreciate this man for always giving us entertainment and fireworks throughout the years :-)
✛①⑥⑥⑨ ②⑤⑧ ④③⑥③:
The worst part about street fights is that there are usually weapons involved. Of course there's always honorable street fighters, but the majority are cowards who will bring a gun or a knife to a street fight. So it's best to just not get involved in a street fight in the first place.
I was wondering if anyone was going to throw this golden advice out there. There are just too many unknown variables for a street fight to reliably go your way. Weapons like you mentioned, the other guy being a one man wrecking machine, the aggressors friends helping, or better yet someone is recording you take the first strike with poor audio and now you’re legally the aggressor 🤷🏻♂️
honorable street fighters smh...
Finally, Im ready to go to the grocery! Thank you. 😁
Admit it. Every single one of us is imagining ourselves in a street fight right now.
ahahaha i sure did
Not me, I am practicing in one at the moment
Long story short...Never attack GSP
Dude, I've never heard anyone explain my fist fight philosophy so well. I always let them go first, once they do my hands are untied and I go very hard, very fast. Bruce Lee said if a fight last more than three seconds you lost.... Not sure if he really said that but it does ring true. I super like the hand posture, hopefully I'll remember that if I ever fist fight again....I'm 50 now so hopefully not. Time to put away childish things. Proved myself plenty, now I don't care as much.
I'm a bit confused. At 1:20 he says the best thing (to have element of surprise) ist to hit first. This is not good advice.
Crickey GSP sounds a lot like old mate Van damme.
The lighting and the suits make this clip is so cinematic. They could be actors on a movie set
