So inspiring to hear that someone who has become so successful also has had to deal with those demons I feel as a regular person. It makes you feel there isn’t too much wrong with you. I trained for a Muay Thai fight and felt all those same self doubts GSP talks about, how you have to override those doubts with deliberate positive thoughts and back your training. The parallels it has with life is no different.

It was really a great moment when Lex responded to GSP’s long explanation of knowing when an opponent has resigned themselves to defeat & then Lex talks about not being able to keep eye contact in evolutionary psychology
I stumbled on this channel by chance and heard this guest speak by chance, all for the first time but I'm really satisfied with what these two talk about. They are two deep souls. I'm in nursing school, listening to GSP talk about the upfront sacrifices and the digging deep and the coming up and the going down and digging deeper and the holding on and the holding on. "You going to make it" I may or may not have a tear in my eye. I felt every word.

GSP is just so eloquent in his expression of ideas and his intellect, that he could easily be called the Richard Feinman or Carl Sagan of MMA world.
He seems like a highly intelligent person.
More like the Elon Musk of MMA.
He used his brain, not his body, to be on the mount Rushmore of MMA
That’s incredibly insulting to RF and CS lmao
@@nugzila4170 He's average lol, uses 4 sentences when he could use one... once you get that, it makes him look more stupid. I talk french from Montreal too
A gem of a person you are GSP.
One of the best episodes ever, GSP is amazing. His perspectives on combatting fear and confidence as an elite athlete in combat sports is incredible.
This guy has einstein level combat IQ. This also include fight preparation. His techniques are very interresting and I'm sure that they are use by other athletes.
What an incredible human being he is, I love the sparkle he has for life- you can see it so brightly in his eyes!
Brilliant episode, Lex, and thank you for all your brilliance!
I love how you’re changing up topics on the podcast Lex. Keep doing interesting things like this!
GSP is a GOAT!
The most self-aware and wisest mma fighter there is. Hands down the greatest. Amazing interview, thanks a ton Lex.
Lex is like an animatronic Russian Santa Claus with the podcasts he’s gifting us lately.
He is the AI Baba Yaga
He is building relations with people via his podcast.
I think he is too mature to care about just a UA-cam channel.
Дед Мороз.
He somehow shows no emotion while also always looking like he is on the brink of bursting into laughter every time he talks
This Russian dude is hiding well... His mask will slip soon...
Just the fact that GSP is still doing interview in english is amazing. Thank you for everything, you're the best GSP 🇨🇦
English is eazy to learn...and he also lives in multicultural canada...not amazing...but yes, i have seen alot french that does not know or dont want to know english
Why wouldn't he answer in English? Speaking only a bastardized form of French would leave him with an audience of perhaps a couple million. Don't try and start with the French stuff.
@@brianpruden6576 u clearly didnt understand what I wrote but u also dont sound very smart 💁 same with the other dude before u, a retired french canadian (at the moment I wrote my comment) still doing english interview for the fans is something we appreciate. U must be so sad in your life to find negativity where there is none.
I must say, it really amazes me how how well-informed George is on the topics of AI, robotics, UFO's and previous podcast guests. Great interview!
I love GSP. He’s my favourite fighter of all time, a childhood hero, a fellow east coast Canadian, he inspires hope and motivation, he’s very smart, funny and technical, similar interests outside of MMA and to hear him speak about fighting in such a scientific way is always fascinating. Great interview! I subbed
Einstein level combat IQ. When they were talking about the fighters looking themselves in the eye and reading their opponent. Love it
I like that Georges combined fun and smart, it reminded me of how messy yet joyful life can be at times. Not to say that I'm most likely going to engage in martial arts, but it's great to have someone with experience talk about it.
I would totally recommend trying them!!!
What a great guest. I really liked the bit about pre fight fear and anxiety and how candid he was about confronting that and overcoming it. Very humbling and admirable
I’m almost done listening to all your videos and I know I’m just going to cycle back through them a second time once I’ve finished. You’re absolutely brilliant!!! You give me life!!!! :)
This is truly one of the best podcast episodes I have ever seen. Top 3 with out a doubt.
1st minute in and Lex is just giving the intro and it already gives me goosebumps! So happy for your success brother. Much love!
GSP is the truest reincarnation of Bruce Lee in Mixed Martial Arts today.. he’s a true Martial Artist!
A real warrior 👊🏽 RESPECT to you GSP, you’re an inspiration brother!
George is also in the Falcon and the Winter Soldier! Love him!
He is Batroc the Leaper, appeared first on Cap Winter soldier movie.
That's the one!
I knew I recognized the face on the thumbnail. I know basically nothing about UFC and the Fighting scene, but this podcast was awesome!
GSP's approach to fighting is so scientific. Amazing. He is the GOAT for me. he has the compassion as well that is sadly lacking in many fighters.
Both gsp and and lex are such humble and respectful human beings.
Humble and tough. That is discipline.
I have attempted to meditate many times in my life and prior to this CD the only success I've experienced is with live guided meditation. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxzpa8CIfZcihW4Z0F_ja0QF3W9KIatrsq This is the first CD I've used that cuts through my unmedicated ADHD and enables me to truly relax and experience a quiet and energizing interval. The instructors voice is very soothing and pleasant to listen to. I am easily able to sit successfully through the entire CD, and for quite some time after. I cannot adequately express how tremendously helpful this CD has been on my spiritual journey!! Two thumbs up and 10 stars!

Thanks so much for this interview. Pierre has always been my fav. Seeing him brought back happy memories as a kid with my brother watching Pierre on the big screen. ☺️
Getting tapped like a white belt by Hughes!!!! Hahahahaha.
Mr George St Pierre est un model pour tous les jeunes combattants aspirants .Un homme humble , dédié , respectueux et , surtout un maitre accompli dans l'art de la guerre . C'est un réel plaisir de l'écouter converser avec Lex . Chapeau bas
This interview is really motivating me for the difficult work week I have ahead of me. GSP has a really fantastic energy in this interview.
I'm ready to fight Khabib right now!!
Georges is such a down to earth guy. I'm not even a fan of MMA and I would love to just sit with him and talk about dinosaurs or UFO's or some shit. Also, I really enjoy your interviews Lex. Great work.
I've been waiting on this one for so long, I heard he was on lex fridmans podcast on Joe's podcast and ive kept checking every day lol finally! Lmao
One of the greatest interviews with an athlete, ever! Thank you and great job Lex.
What an absolute class act. Unflinchingly honest about many things most fighters would never open up about. When someone is truly dominate in their field they are rarely humble… many try to appear humble, few genuinely are.
I need to start watching MMA. The way these guys talk about it is fascinating.
Great art to it. I started watching 3 years ago, and I found out there’s more to it than two people beating each other up.
@@swizzcc is it on Netflix?
@@sonderexpeditions there are documentaries you can find on Connor Mcgregor or Ronda Rousey (two people who grew the sport and made it popular) on Netflix. It will give you a background and a backstage of what goes on with fighters preparation during a fight that might get you interested. I honestly suggest also to watch the live fights on Espn. It comes on like every Saturday night. You might enjoy it 😁
@@swizzcc I will for sure. I'd also like to watch this Khabib guy. 👌🏾😊
@@sonderexpeditions Khabib retired a couple months ago, but you can watch quite a few of his fights on youtube I think.
Amazing one of the best interviews I've seen in a very long time 2 men haveing a real conversation . No one cutting the other off in mid convo it's refreshing .
I love how intellectually curious and open GSP is. At times he started interviewing Lex. This has been great all the way through.
GSP is not only cemented as one of the best of all time, but also looks like a complete and total badass in a suit. What a legend.
Yes the goat on the podcast, a must watch
Loved your work in the cell games ! Huge fan
The opposite of love is forgetting... man this is why I love this podcast
I love how you can't hide your excitement when talking about how Joe and George conspired to make you feel special.
What?

It's during the introduction to the podcast. First few minutes.
@@lauchlanmccutcheon1716 thanks bud
@@vikingmma All good. Must say, this Russian-American chap, for all his cheesy talk about beauty in all things, has grown on me to the point where his is the first podcast I check every week. Long may he prosper.
This is one of the greatest commentaries/insights on developing the mindset to succeed in life. In any area, whether it’s selling, interviewing, public speaking, etc., you need to prepare mentally and develop a strategy to win. This will help.
Being a Canadian from Eastern Ontario, I recognized Georges' Quebecois accent immediately. Quebec has produced many remarkable athletes and Georges is at the top. Salut, Georges, and thank you.
GSP is such a great role model. Thank you Lex for putting on this great podcast!
We can talk about who the GOAT in MMA is all the time. But GSP is not just a fighter, he is the epitome of a true martial artist in my opinion. A philosopher who has mastered physical combat.
He's a mediocre philosopher lol, if you can even call him that. He is unsure of his own existence when he says that "free will is an illusion". Why bother making right choices if it's an illusion? Typical deterministic attitude..
@@markgregsputnik7288 Free will certainly is an illusion. Don't you follow science? Genetics and epigenetics are in control my friend, not you.
@@markgregsputnik7288 your life must be so miserable 🤣
It was a privilege to watch GSP fight when I was young. Him coming out in his karate uniform made me feel badass in my taekwondo one. Great role model to have.
this is one of the best podcasts he has done so far George is such a great guest with some amazing experiences to share
Mad respect for the vulnerability of the two gentleman having this discussion with regards to the truth. It's refreshing.
Was waiting for this podcast since GSP mentioned he was with Lex on JRE. Excited!!!
“What is a perfect day in the life” is a super underrated question. We should be asking each other that more. Great episode right here.
GSP plays warzone with us. He hasn’t been on the last couple days because he was training and interviewing. We miss you George, get back on so we can do some island quads
Gsp is my uncle. He comes round to my house every Sunday for a barbecue. See it’s that easy to make a lie
@@bestshortclips18 Who doesn’t love a big boi bbq?
@@bestshortclips18 So that's why he never plays on Sundays...
What else are you going to do in your hotel room at night on thr road
GSP refused to fight in the age of juicers.... Why you think he'd game in the land of cheaters?
Listening to GSP at Rogan made it very clear that he also was honored to speak with Lex Fridman. You are becoming a real legend man. Just by being yourself. Your humble attitude only makes it better. I love the guy that you are. Please don't go hiding behind some paywall. I see the trend happening, and it hurts me, having no money to spend for anything but necessity of life. Keep going man.
I clicked faster than his super man punch
That's humanly impossible.
Same brother haha
Me too
GSP is Top Ten in my Heroes List. The physical meets the moral meets the intellectual. And as humble as can be. He’s the perfect human to look up to.
The host also participates in real talk and exchange, a real conversation instead of just asking questions only and get the answers, as in most interviews.
One of the longest podcasts I've seen. Didnt get bored once. Thanks.
Wow. GSP is such a cool guy. Such an open mind and willing to bring that openess to any discussion.
I will watch every interview of Mcgregor and GSP. These dudes completely changed the game.
I could listen to GSP talk all day. I love the honesty and humbleness
So impressive - especially his self-knowledge. Thank you so much for this.
GSP is such an empath and thats why we love him. Lex is the right temperament to get the best from him. Great interview guys. Love from New Zealand x

Hands down one of the best interviews I’ve watched ever. You went into so many diverse topics with GSP.
Came here for the first half, but most thoroughly enjoyed the last half. I've watched a lot of these and this one is easily one of my favourite.
GSP huge respect....intelligent speaking in a ‘second language’, humble, wonderful person.
Lex, podcasts like this allow me to reflect and really think about where I wanna be in the future. You guys are exceptional role models! Thank you 🤙🏽
He's so cool, inspiring and down to earth. No douchiness whatsoever.
this is one of the deepest and engaging interview. Great thanks to both of you Lex and George.
GSP is just so unique in the fighting world. This interview is so good because neither person is trying to dominate it and both listen to the other person talk without interrupting each other.
This is why GSP is one of my top 5 favorite athletes/public figures.
I’m glad you had an opportunity to interview GSP I love this guy and what he represents. It was a real pleasure to listen to this podcast. A great man forge by the experience of life, and honestly who couldn’t fall in love with this simple man with such a rich experience. Thanks again and the best to GSP. 👍
Gsp is really a great individual. And Lex, you're fascinating. Thanks for the podcasts and the ideas and reflections you bring us. 👍
I saw the Street fighting tips video with Lex and GSP and thought “ these two would make for a good interview” and now here I am . Excellent.
After tearing my acl/mcl and detaching my kneecap I reached 300 lbs the fasting changed my life. I lost 150 ish and have kept it there for about 4 years so far? This was a great conversation.
