I have a problem with echoing but I have a setup to where my headphones are linked to my controller my input has a mocrophone array setting and in advanced it has monitor only mute output but if I turn it off it doesn’t pick up my voice at all

Hey Mike. Love your channel. Lots I learned from you. Quick question ... Can you setup hot keys for volume up or down? I'm using audio from a mixing board. It would be easier to have hot keys.
Just on and off unfortunately. Loupedeck does offer an external unit that can give you volume control.

Great info! Thank you for your videos. I am trying to project from my PC(to a projector via HDMI- with sound) while streaming on UA-cam, AND monitor sound on my headphones at the same time. I can't seem to get both working at the same time. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Hi Michael. Thanks for the video. One issue I'm having though is I wanted to change the browser audio to like distorted or maybe change pitch. I'm not going to use microphone. I will only use browser audio but I need to tweak it or change the pitch in anyway. I've downloaded a plugin reajs however it seemed like it's not working for window capture. Can you help me on this. I am new to OBS and I'm lost

I am watching your video because I shot a podcast earlier today. Watching another UA-cam video I learned how to use OBS as a VT or Video Playback Machine. Worked Great! Except one problem. The Audio from my videos would ONLY come out of my laptop speakers. No matter what I did, Change the out put in the Mac preferences Changed the output settings in OBS nothing worked. All the other sounds from my laptop routed where I wanted but OBS ONLY played out of the LapTop Speakers. I dont know what to do.

Hi Michael, thanks for this. I followed the Audio Capture guidance for adding audio from a microphone connected to DAW that is connected to my macbook. But when I play back the recording, I can only hear it on the left speaker, unless I go into Advanced Properties and tick the Mono box, then I hear it on both sides. Shouldn't this be the other way round? Is the mono meant to be selected for it to sound on both speakers?

Hey Mike love your content, I'm using an audio interface and trying to use OBS to screen record making music in logic, I can get audio on my Mic but it only plays out through one speaker not both, biggest concern is the desktop/internal audio, if I were to play a video on youtube it picks up that audio, but when I go to play music through my daw (logic pro x) it doesn't pick up that audio at all and I can't figure out why, I was wondering if you had any advice, thanks for your help Mike

Hi Michael, I've just discovered your channel and have found the videos very helpful. Thanks! One thing that I haven't been able to resolve is, when adding a Media Source, even after going into advanced properties and selecting Monitor & Output, there's no sound. The meter is showing audio levels but I can't hear anything. Is this normal? Any ideas or link to one of your videos going into this topic? Thanks again.
In settings audio see what your default monitor is. Is could actually be different then where you are listening. :-)

Hi Michael, thanks for a great tutorial. Can you tell me how to activate a media source? I have a recorded webinar, but when I want to use it for a recording I can´t hear any sound because the sound in the recording is inactive. (I see that in the advanced audio properties.)
Either the source has no sound or the format is messed up somehow. Try putting it in an editing software and see if there is an audio track. If there is export a new file.

at the bottom of the camera properties window click use custom audio device I think its called. then select the mic you want to use.

Dude, I have Digital Video Camera 4K camcorder that has shotgun mic atop of it with a 3.5 mm pin plug from it to the DVC. How do I add the audio mixer for that & what special settings should I go with??

Not directly. I have a few on troubleshooting audio issues though.
I've been streaming for a bit on Twitch (using the Xbox plugin for Twitch), but only recently switched to using OBS to stream. My issue is this: I am able to play my CF/RF music on my desktop with crystal-clear performance, and I'm seeing the mixer bar moving to around -35 or -30 dbs when my music is set to a comfortable level for my ears. However, absolutely no sound is playing on-stream. The only time my viewers can hear anything but my mic input (which is perfect, and they can hear me exactly) is when I crank my desktop volume up to more-than-comfortable levels, and then they only get a few beats and static/buzzing (feedback, I assume). Even my game sounds aren't capturing. I've added a source for Audio output capture, and have it set up on Track 1 (as are my mic and camera), so it will stream. I'm totally perplexed.

I have encountered an issue in our Church live stream set up..
We have distortion coming through when multiple microphones are being used ..also for so e unknown reason we can cannot hear any instruments coming through to Zoom?
Any ideas ? We recently upgraded OBS and wondered if that's the cause ?

Distortion could be cables. Zoom not getting instruments is probably noise cancellation of some sort. Those are tuned for voices. It thinks instruments are noise. That’s my guess.

I’ve done a livestream and the sound s very low. I use OBS studio to stream to mixcloud. The controller I use for my music is a pioneer xdjrx2 and I stream from there using an irig.

I have 3 camera's setup to advance switcher. On my livestream you are able to see all 3 camera's. The Switch is just rotating the sizing of each camera, 1 bigger view and 2 smaller view. Is there a way to have the audio switch also? So whatever camera is bigger is what you hear and the 2 smaller videos mute?

Hi Mike! I setup a scene in OBS with desktop audio and Mic. When I'm streaming our MS Teams meeting to my UA-cam channel, my audience cannot hear me talking if my mic in OBS is on mute, even though my mic in MS Teams is not muted. It means that my voice cannot pass through the desktop audio. So I need to unmute also my mic in OBS in order for my audience in my youtube channel could hear me talking. Is there a way to not to unmute and mute this two apps? Thank you.
Hi Michael, is there a way to "lock" the audio so the microphone will work on every scene? I just finished a long recording only to discover afterwards that there was no audio when I switched scenes.
just add it to every scene I think, there is a way to add the mic / desktop audio in the global OBS settings but I've been having issues with it recently not recording at all

Hello Michael, I'm new to streaming and using OBS for twitch. I have this issue that just recently happened so idk if it was something I did. When I activate my capture card my audio has a ringing or some type of buzzing in the background that I can hear. How do I fix this and I also tried noise suppression... love the tutorial as well!
Make sure it is not playing through your speakers. The ringing you hear is probably feedback.

Howdy! Great video. I'm trying to add an audio source (blackmagic webpresenter hd). OBS recognizes the video but nothing shows up when i add a video input device. It simply says "Device not connected or not available. As mentioned, the video is coming through obs but cannot connect the sound on the black box to obs
I use OBS to record Warzone gameplays. But the first problem is that my recordings come out a bit blurry and the second problem is that I can't hear my teammates and the death comms in the recording. I have my resolution set to 1920x1080 with 60fps. During the recording I can hear the game audio and my voice only. In the audio settings, I have my "Desktop Audio" set up to "Default" and my "Mic/Auxiliary Audio" set to my "Headset Microphone(Astro MixAmp Pro Voice)" because I use Astro A40 headset. Is there any way you can help me with those 2 problems please? I'd appreciate it. Thank you

Hey, if I'm trying to cast my phone video and audio (internal audio, not microphone) to obs, but I'm confused about what to do with the audio. I can get both aud and vid onto the mac with quicktime. I can get the video into obs by displaying it in the window. But how do I get the audio in as a source? Do I need to use something like audio jack, and if so how. Thanks!
thanks man, that was great. But i'm having an issue very annoying. When I open up OBS there's no audio at all in any other application, the browser stops running, no media player sound.... its like OBS crashes everything else while its open. My system is: windows 11, RTX3060, intel i7 ntel(R) Core(TM) i7-10700 CPU @ 2.90GHz 2.90 GHz; RAM: 16GB... And a Tascam US16x08 as my audio interface. But we're using FB messenger to bring his video into OBS, however using Game capture or window capture. Neither seem to support audio, so I am having to just have it through my audio card and causing some feedback.
I'm having a problem with the audio setup. I have a audio interface (Focusrite) which my external speakers are connected to. Also it has a headphone output as well. When I add "audio device". My audio is good but I have a question. I seen a video about this before but I can’t find it. I want my low voice to be the same volume as my high voice. The goal is to have the listener have a consistent volume with my video when I’m talking. Have you made a video about this?
