quick question, when you are talking, do you hear yourself through the headset? im trying to figure out how to still record my voice but not hear myself through my headphones.
I been having this weird problem where I sound normal but then my microphone randomly sounds far away. I checked to see if it was my filters but it was not. My mic is a Rockville rcm pro if that helps?
and to describe it more when I boosted the part of the audio to sound as loud as the normal audio it did not have the smooth voice kind of feel it had.
One thing to note: Normal media players (eg: VLC) will play the first available audio track by default and, as far as I know, can only play one track at a time making a 'full' playback (game + mic) impossible. As such, at 5:35 I also have it record Track 1 (same as the stream track) as a "Mix" so media players will play as expected. Not relevant for everyone, but worth noting for those who want to playback in a normal media player fresh from OBS :) As usual, amazing video even over a year later bro, been brushing up on my OBS settings and you are the first (and only real) stop needed :)

Hey Cpaws! I can't thank you enough for the help with this video. I've only recently started my YT channel, and the audio was all over the place. I am still having issues with the mic audio cutting out if I scream and was wondering if there is any way you may be able to help me fix this issue.
I was also wondering if you could go indepth more into the two track audios, one for mic/aux, and the other for the game audio. I've followed the video as you did but I'm not getting two track audios.
Really useful video - thank you. My suggestion is slow it down a bit though. The info is great but you do rattle through it very, very fast. Thanks again.
So this video was very helpful, but I do wish that you brought up the fact that if you play it in any other media player other than an editing software, the multiple tracks won't actually play and you only get on track of Audio ( whatever audio plays first in the recording whether it be game audio or your mic audio). I spent an extra 2 hours trying to figure out why I couldn't hear the other audio tracks in the windows 11 player; to realize that it doesn't enable unless it's in an actual editing software 😅 I think that's the biggest thing that I have to get used to now after doing OBS recordings, because I can especially be forgetful when remembering my settings as it is😂
Ironically I ment to click on the Mic settings video and didn't realized till the end that you plugged the video BUT while watching I was downloading DaVinci Resolve to switch from Sony Vegas and was skeptical if it can import videos with multitrack audio because the "totally legit" version of Premire Pro I have can't do that it which is why I was using Sony Vegas, but Sony Vegas likes to clock out of work while I'm using it very often (aka crash) and legit, holds my videos hostage cuz it cant render a 30-45 minute 1080p video on my or my editors computer sometimes. AND that's when I saw you answer my question inadvertenly with you audio import test in DaVinci. I know it wasn't on purpose but I wanted to mention it so THANK YOU for solidfing DaVinci as my new editor and for the audio info. (Now I'm going to watch the Mic Settings video like I meant to lol)

Hi - Your videos have been incredibly helpful with getting me to use OBS. One issue I'm running into is capturing game audio whenever I turn on my gaming headphones. I'd check and see if your audio settings in obs are set to default, if they are, then they could be getting switched when you connect your headphones to your windows audio settings :D
@@CpawsMusic Thanks for the reply! I'm using a Mac to run OBS and streaming from Xbox Series X Console. I added my capture card as an audio input capture. I think I found a workaround by going into my Xbox settings and keeping the volume to headset and monitor even when my headphones are on, and just muting my monitor volume. Wondering if this is the most efficient, or if you might have other suggestions. Thanks again!
@CpawsMusic I've been coming to your channel for years to help me with OBS but now i am stuck with this annoying issue. While on stream my mics voice capture seems to be to high as in if i talk softly the mic won't capture my voice and it will result in my voice being cut off and i already have a booming voice if i think i am talking normally. I can't use my really use my normal voice since i stream while my other half is sleeping but my soft voice would be like your normal voice. So question is how to i get OBS voice capture to be more sensitive and not cut off every sentence. Thanks in advance and as always keep up the good work.
I'd honestly look into getting a more sensitive microphone, usually a condenser microphone would work better for you in this case over a dynamic microphone :D
@@CpawsMusic Thank for the reply but this is a new problem that i didn't have before and i haven't changed the mic but i think ill give the old un-install and re-install option a go see what happens. in 5:50 why Audio Track 1 is not enable? Can I just enable audio track 1, 2 ,and 3? and what audio setting is best If I want to play music in my "Starting Soon" "BRB" scene without my audience hearing my mic and gameplay which is in my Audio 1 or system sound
Hey Cpaws, I have been watching your videos setting up my stream and have a question for you about my audio setup currently. I would appreciate it if you have a solution! Thank you in advance! I have an Xbox One X with an elgato HD60s capture card. I am using OBX studios as well. When I am in a party chat and am recording my videos, it doesn't record the party chat audio. It doesn't pick up any audio from my voice chat when streaming to Kick. I want my viewers to be able to hear my friends in the Xbox party chat. Can you help? Loving the content! Keep up the great work!
I would recommend trying to set the Xbox audio settings in your xbox to come out of both your headset and TV speakers. Usually that will force the capture card to capture all audio 😀
Your videos made my streams sound really nice but now I have this issue where my game audio is really quiet but the mic sounds perfect and I don't understand what im doing wrong
Is there a way to use more than 1 audio track for live stream? I usually record every track separately like you show at the end. But for live stream I need to put everything in one single track. My sound was very very quiet on my live stream. How can I check loudness of my audio mix on this 1 audio track?
I do!!! It's the freaking worst haha, pretty sure it's because of anxiety and nervous habits. Got me a spinner ring to try and mess with instead when I find myself doing it :D
Make sure you check the Audio Bitrate!!! My microphone sounded like a crunchy, static mess and I was pulling my hair out trying to figure out what was wrong! I set all channels from 160 bitrate to 320, and like magic my microphone audio was smooth as butter!
Hey, I'm having issue that my mic picking up my desktop audio. I've been looking for the fix but wasn't able to find one. Do you have any advice? Thanks
Yes, if I'm using headphones the sound is not that loud but when I'm using earphones it's so loud. I tried to record using NVIDEA as well and seems to have same issue. Do you think the problem is my laptop?@@CpawsMusic
I’m so confused on the recording volume track 1-6 does each number mean something different? Bc you’re saying track 2 is gain volume and three is inverse or whatever you said. I’m not understanding what you did and what the track numbers mean? Anyone know?
track numbers are just the number of audio tracks you're streaming/recording to. usually people use them to split audio so you can control them better in post-production
my desktop audio sounds tinny for my viewers and also when recording. but to me when im playing games or doing whatver on or off stream it sounds perfectly fine...
Thanks for the helpful video! I have an audio question. My gaming audio cuts in and out a lot when I record on OBS. My mic works just fine though. The game's music and other ambient sounds don't get picked up. Any advice on how to fix that?
@Mags Haha I wouldn't consider myself a tech wizard, I just have pulled out enough hair to take some guesses at what could be wrong 😂 Do you have any filters on the game volume at all in OBS?
how to seperate game audio and desktop audio plz help asap plz what source should i use because application audio beta is failing me it not want to display sound
Question about Divninci, let's say Im recording my video with a facecam, can Dinvinci allow me to take my face cam out so that way I can make my thumbnails without face cam in it?
Ehhh. Looking for settings to basically use UA-cam audio for karaoke audio mixing in my voice, all synced /0 delay to my voice in the headset (of course) and record. No luck yet.
Your tutorial to set my stream up was brilliant thank you...but i use my headset for my Mic and my headphones for audio and im gettign an echo on stream and i can't figure out how to fix this...any tips?
How do you reduce the streamed volume for when you watch the stream in playback? When I stream it’s on low for me while playing but on ets2 while streaming the voice gps navigation is real loud
I’ve been having issues being able to hear myself and I still can’t hear me 🤧 I have my headset on and all. I’ve been trying to tweak the filter EQ because when I stream I’m way too loud and I want to balance that. (New to PC).

Thanks for you video! it has really been helpful!
You're very welcome Alec

Had to check the box with settings as well but it did that trick to the point it picks up everything in the game ground lol
You helped so much thanks 🙏

in 5:50 why Audio Track 1 is not enable? Can I just enable audio track 1, 2 ,and 3? and what audio setting is best If I want to play music in my "Starting Soon" "BRB" scene without my audience hearing my mic and gameplay which is in my Audio 1 or system sound
oh sorry, i get it now. this is for recording only. no point to enable 1 in this case.
No prob!
@@CpawsMusic thank you so much!
Your videos made my streams sound really nice but now I have this issue where my game audio is really quiet but the mic sounds perfect and I don't understand what im doing wrong
Sorry not sure about that one :/
@@CpawsMusic it's okay! The volume goes back to normal once I put both of them on the same track. I'm not sure why that happens
My twitch wouldnt be running if it wasnt for you. get all my info off you. keep up the great work!
Much love Chloe! Glad I could help :D
Is there a way to use more than 1 audio track for live stream? I usually record every track separately like you show at the end. But for live stream I need to put everything in one single track.
My sound was very very quiet on my live stream. How can I check loudness of my audio mix on this 1 audio track?
I don't believe so unfortunately
you are AMAZING
Happy I could help :D
omggg! THANK YOU SO SO MUCH!!
Glad I could help!
Beard Hair Pathches? Do you pull them out?!!!! I do that too, and it seems like a very excruciatingly painful thing to realize after a patch 😭
You'd think they have it at 320 on default haha
Hey, I'm having issue that my mic picking up my desktop audio. I've been looking for the fix but wasn't able to find one. Do you have any advice? Thanks
are you wearing headphones?
Yes, if I'm using headphones the sound is not that loud but when I'm using earphones it's so loud.
I tried to record using NVIDEA as well and seems to have same issue.
Do you think the problem is my laptop?@@CpawsMusic
What do you do is the sync offset doest change anything about the audio delay?
Not sure about that, sorry!
Thank you soooo much!

I'd double check and make sure that you have the correct default audio sources selected under your windows/obs audio settings
Thanks for the helpful video! I have an audio question. My gaming audio cuts in and out a lot when I record on OBS. My mic works just fine though. The game's music and other ambient sounds don't get picked up. Any advice on how to fix that?
Do you think it's just too quiet or where do you think it's causing the issue?
@@CpawsMusic No, it's pretty loud. As I play it will come in and out. No clue what's causing it! Jealous of you tech wizards! 😅
@Mags Haha I wouldn't consider myself a tech wizard, I just have pulled out enough hair to take some guesses at what could be wrong 😂 Do you have any filters on the game volume at all in OBS?
Is it okay to up the audio bitrate to 320 since Twitch only allows 6000 kbps? Does it mean we should down the video bitrate to stay under that limit?
Audio bitrate is fine at 320
Straight to the point, thank You !
you're very welcome!
how to seperate game audio and desktop audio plz help asap plz

Question about Divninci, let's say Im recording my video with a facecam, can Dinvinci allow me to take my face cam out so that way I can make my thumbnails without face cam in it?
You'd have to be recording separately for 2 different scenes
I’m struggling with a throw sound on my video mix can you help me on that please 🙏🙏

Ehhh.
Looking for settings to basically use UA-cam audio for karaoke audio mixing in my voice, all synced /0 delay to my voice in the headset (of course) and record. No luck yet.
Hope you figure out a solution fam :D
Thanks. My Conundrum: Using OBS, Video and Audio Spot On in Sync in the produced MP4. Problem, upload MP4 to youtube the video is advanced. Help?
Very weird, not sure on that since if it's fine in the mp4 file then nothing should change when uploading to youtube
My game audio was fine but for some reason one just stopped getting any game audio from my capture card, so you know any fixes?
I'd recommend contacting the capture card brand
I'm having trouble with how to mute my mic while playing a video clip. Is there a way to disable the mic from scene to scene?
I don't think so. But you can get creative with the hotkeys tho!
Gonna Watch later!
ayyyy
what editing software do you use?
DaVinci Resolve :)
I have a eGPU Breakaway Box 750ex with amd radeon 5800 xt. i cant get obs to recognize it on my mac mini
Sorry not sure about that :/
Your tutorial to set my stream up was brilliant thank you...but i use my headset for my Mic and my headphones for audio and im gettign an echo on stream and i can't figure out how to fix this...any tips?
Do you have your stream open and playing in a browser tab by chance and it's not muted?
@Cpaws Music yes...yes I do and now I feel a complete ass! 😂

How do you reduce the streamed volume for when you watch the stream in playback? When I stream it’s on low for me while playing but on ets2 while streaming the voice gps navigation is real loud
I'd recommend lowering the game volume
I’ve been having issues being able to hear myself and I still can’t hear me 🤧 I have my headset on and all. I’ve been trying to tweak the filter EQ because when I stream I’m way too loud and I want to balance that. (New to PC).
Make sure to hit 'monitor and output' on your microphone in your advanced audio settings :D
@@CpawsMusic thank you I figured out 😭😊
Hi i saw someone asked this prior but never responded to you, im attempting to stream and keeping getting a very noticeable echo, i do run my stream in the background which might be the problem so im going to try muting it but if i still have the problem do you have any suggestions?
It's likely you playing your stream in the background unmuted
@@CpawsMusic It was, I felt very silly, so thank you for replying to that one comment months ago, it helped
