@Clouder Very weird, like it completely gets muted at random times?
@Clouder Does it say that it's muted on the Twitch VOD like a copyright sort of deal?
@Clouder Not really sure then, I'd recommend reaching out to Twitch to see if they can point you in the right direction.
nice video
quick question, when you are talking, do you hear yourself through the headset? im trying to figure out how to still record my voice but not hear myself through my headphones.
Keep up the good work Cpawn! This has really helps me a lot, I started streaming since last December and I was still dealing with audio problems. But now it's great thanks to you😅❤❤❤
Thanks! Happy I could help :)
This has been the most helpful video I've watched on OBS sound and I've watched many. Finally I'm able to get my mic sounding good. Thank you so much.
You're very welcome! If you end up having any questions or just wanna say hi, you can ask me live over on Twitch www.twitch.tv/cpawsmusic :D
This actually wasn't what I was looking for, but it was helpful information that I didn't know I needed. Thank you!
You're very welcome!
Sir I cannot express how much I am thankful i found you FRL. this video has most definitely helped me with my OBS issue
Hell yeah!
legend! I could only record on track 1 with everything on the one channel and no control and it was driving me INSANE. you saved a brother today
Haha happy I could help homie!! Totally understand that frustration for the longest time 😂
I been having this weird problem where I sound normal but then my microphone randomly sounds far away. I checked to see if it was my filters but it was not. My mic is a Rockville rcm pro if that helps?
and to describe it more when I boosted the part of the audio to sound as loud as the normal audio it did not have the smooth voice kind of feel it had.
Very weird, sounds like it could be a microphone issue if you ruled out that it wasn't any filers
just looked more into it and its weird, it acts out when I say "different" specifically@@CpawsMusic
this was really helpful!! after watching 20 tutorials on how to use my mic and headphones finally i understand how to do it! thank youuuu!

You sir, are my hero. Just set up an overlay and for the life of me I couldn't work out how to include my desktop audio. Thank you
1 question though, I have a stinger transition with some audio. How do I keep the visual but remove the audio from it?
That's actually a great question! Usually when you buy the package through their other site own3d.tv they include a file without audio, but since it's own3d.pro im actually not sure since it's built-in. If I do find a method i'll let you know, also if you find a way then let me know haha @@JustKwaK

Very helpful, could not figure out how to adjust balance for individual apps playing from desktop like spotify etc for the life of me until this vid.
Thank ya!
Ironically I ment to click on the Mic settings video and didn't realized till the end that you plugged the video BUT while watching I was downloading DaVinci Resolve to switch from Sony Vegas and was skeptical if it can import videos with multitrack audio because the "totally legit" version of Premire Pro I have can't do that it which is why I was using Sony Vegas, but Sony Vegas likes to clock out of work while I'm using it very often (aka crash) and legit, holds my videos hostage cuz it cant render a 30-45 minute 1080p video on my or my editors computer sometimes. AND that's when I saw you answer my question inadvertenly with you audio import test in DaVinci. I know it wasn't on purpose but I wanted to mention it so THANK YOU for solidfing DaVinci as my new editor and for the audio info. (Now I'm going to watch the Mic Settings video like I meant to lol)
Hell yeah! Have fun with it! Love me some free Davinci hahaha
quick question, when you are talking, do you hear yourself through the headset? im trying to figure out how to still record my voice but not hear myself through my headphones.
Turn off audio monitoring under the advanced audio tab :D
@@CpawsMusic thank you!
500 videos later and yours actually make sense! THANK YOU!!!!!!
You're very welcome 😁
Audio is so bogus man. Good vid but it’s the #1 issue. I can play on ps5 and hook up my mic it doesn’t pick anything but my voice. PC picks up if I breath. It’s like console has a built in buffer or something. So now I have a $2k pc sitting because if I steam the audio drives me nuts
Very weird, I'd recommend messing with the capture card settings like double clicking the video capture device source and click add custom audio
@@CpawsMusic that’s the thing is I don’t use a capture card. I go through OBS but thank you and great video
@@S1mL1feHopping in to comment almost a year later but you have me curious. If you are using your PS5, whats your current A/V signal flow to get your PS5 and Mic into your PC and OBS without a capture card?
@@trentonkoichi no I would just record and edit on my ps5. I did figure out the PC side literally the best way I’ve found is leave everything on default
@@S1mL1fe Interesting. I’m not going to lie, from the way you’ve described your stream/record set up and signal flow, nothing should work or is the super inefficient way of going about things. Considering you have a seemingly capable PC, you should get yourself a capture card (can get a capable ElGato used capture card for under $100). Avoid the built in stream to twitch or major video editing options like the plague. You lose a lot of functionality doing so.
The audio track advice was very helpful
Thank you!
Make sure you check the Audio Bitrate!!! My microphone sounded like a crunchy, static mess and I was pulling my hair out trying to figure out what was wrong! I set all channels from 160 bitrate to 320, and like magic my microphone audio was smooth as butter!
You'd think they have it at 320 on default haha

Hi world
Hells yeah!
I’m so confused on the recording volume track 1-6 does each number mean something different? Bc you’re saying track 2 is gain volume and three is inverse or whatever you said. I’m not understanding what you did and what the track numbers mean? Anyone know?
track numbers are just the number of audio tracks you're streaming/recording to. usually people use them to split audio so you can control them better in post-production
I have a question.... should I keep my alert on my twitch vods? I looked everywhere to see which items are best to keep on the vods and which are not recommended. Is there a video that talks about this?
It's really up for you to decide :D
I'm so frustrated! I am not streaming, just recording. I have game audio on track 1, mic on 2, and discord on 3. However, sometimes it works perfectly, and other times it only records game audio and doesnt record mic or discord, yet in the audio mixer, it shows that its picking these inputs/outputs up. Im beyond myself and infuriated at this point with the inconsistency of OBS.
EDIT: I figured it out. Solution in comments!
I would double check that your audio inputs are setup correctly and didn't accidentally get mixed around before your next recording
Did it ever work for you?
@@zzzarius1638 I found a workaround. So it turns out that it was the media player I was using to preview my recordings. Most, if not all media players that I’ve found only plays the first track. There are ways to get other media players to play multiple tracks but here was my solution: I had 3 separate tracks I was trying to record. Game audio, my mic, and discord. So, in order to hear all of them in a media player to preview them I put all 3 on track 1, since the media players only play track 1. Then, I set game audio to track 2, my mic to track 3, and then discord to track 4. So when I open the recording in premiere pro to edit them, I just delete track 1 that has all 3 on it, and then I’m left with the remaining 3 tracks that have each thing separate. I hope that makes sense. Basically I make it so track one is just there so I can preview my clips without opening them in a video editing software. But when I do open it in a video editing software, I just delete the first track so all I’m left with are the 3 separate tracks that I wanted to begin with.
hey this is happening to me, did you ever find a solution?
@@Abel-gt5pq look in the comments above. I explained it already.
Yea I have a problem.. I use 2 audio tracks for the recording that is : 2 and 3 but when I do dekstop sound 2 and mikrophone sound 3 I dont hear the dekstop sound for some weird reason
double check you have your recording tracks set correctly under the output tab
in 5:50 why Audio Track 1 is not enable? Can I just enable audio track 1, 2 ,and 3? and what audio setting is best If I want to play music in my "Starting Soon" "BRB" scene without my audience hearing my mic and gameplay which is in my Audio 1 or system sound
oh sorry, i get it now. this is for recording only. no point to enable 1 in this case.
No prob!
Will just using one track fix the echo issue when playback in a media player on windows ?
sorry not sure what you mean by that
Hi - Your videos have been incredibly helpful with getting me to use OBS. One issue I'm running into is capturing game audio whenever I turn on my gaming headphones. OBS completely stops capturing the game audio in my stream, and I've tried a bunch of different things to try and get it to work, but can't seem to get it right. My gaming headphones are wireless. Do you have any suggestions?
I'd check and see if your audio settings in obs are set to default, if they are, then they could be getting switched when you connect your headphones to your windows audio settings :D
@@CpawsMusic Thanks for the reply! I'm using a Mac to run OBS and streaming from Xbox Series X Console. I added my capture card as an audio input capture. I think I found a workaround by going into my Xbox settings and keeping the volume to headset and monitor even when my headphones are on, and just muting my monitor volume. Wondering if this is the most efficient, or if you might have other suggestions. Thanks again!
Ur awesome 👏
Using Yamaha MX10 Mixer and Shure 58 mic and playing keyboard going to MacBook. Concerned about mic levels. Will check out and hopefully able to make good adjustments after watching ur tut. 🙏

I'm using razer headset that has a 7.1 surround sound. Every time I try to stream, it's no audio from my stream. So I just switch it to default audio instead of the 7.1 surround sound from my razer headset. How to add the 7.1 surround sound to OBS? Thanks!

I don't own a stream deck :(
Hello
So while trying to record videos I noticed that when I monitor the audio its super loud, but when I hear the audio played back once I'm done its super low
what settings do I have to go through to fix it? please help
sorry not 100% sure on that
Hey I have an issue where the mic only picks up on the video if I have Monitor and output on and if I turn monitor off it says it's still picking up my mic but I don't hear anything in video
I would double check that you have your audio tracks set up correctly
thank you so much i could not get my mic aux to work and you fixed a ton thank you
You're very welcome!
06:08 i Have mine setup exactly like this - Track 1 for Desktop & Mic for streaming. Track 2 for Desktop and 3 for Mic on recording. I have two issues. The 1st issue, when i record is only my mic is being picked up on the recording when my game is not being displayed. And then the mic is not being picked up when the game is displayed.
Edit* I got the above working with the seperate tracks but the issue below with not having 2 seperate audio tracks in DaVinci still remains. Is there some setting in DaVinci i need ot enable for it?
When i import either the MKV or MP4 to DaVinci i only have 1 video track and 1 audio track not two. I have no idea wth is going on :(
Davinci should accept multiple audio tracks, I don't believe I did anything special in davinci to make it do that so im not sure what could be causing that for you if you setup your tracks correctly in obs
I'm trying to find a video on obs settings for recording acoustic guitar, but I haven't found any. I'm using an Audio technica AT2020. Any recommendations on videos?
I do not, sorry :(
Straight to the point, thank You !
you're very welcome!
mine wont split into two different recordings.still trying to figure out why too, especially when i do reaction videos.
It should split if you set it up like we did. But could also be your video editor as well
Is it okay to up the audio bitrate to 320 since Twitch only allows 6000 kbps? Does it mean we should down the video bitrate to stay under that limit?
Audio bitrate is fine at 320
My game audio was fine but for some reason one just stopped getting any game audio from my capture card, so you know any fixes?
I'd recommend contacting the capture card brand
I’m struggling with a throw sound on my video mix can you help me on that please 🙏🙏
Sorry not sure about that!
my desktop audio sounds tinny for my viewers and also when recording. but to me when im playing games or doing whatver on or off stream it sounds perfectly fine...
I'd double check and make sure that you have the correct default audio sources selected under your windows/obs audio settings
Is there a way to use more than 1 audio track for live stream? I usually record every track separately like you show at the end. But for live stream I need to put everything in one single track.
My sound was very very quiet on my live stream. How can I check loudness of my audio mix on this 1 audio track?
I don't believe so unfortunately
Please help me. When i recorded a Teams Meeting, my audio is brilliant but other people’s audio in the chat has a eco!! Why?
very weird, not sure about that sorry
Hey man. My mic echoes on OBS and I’m not sure why.
One of my sources is my Razor
Mic, so that’s one of the things that shows up under audio mixer.
Then the other thing is “Mic/Aux” which is ALSO my Razor mic. So I think they are overlaying.
But when I disable one of them, then my mic picks up barely anything. So my choices are overlay or nothing. Is there anything I can do to fix this?
I apologize for so much writing.
Never mind I fixed it!!! Thank you regardless
No worries!
How Can I add another line of audio thats seperated like the game and my voice but of my friends audio, if theyre talking in gamechat, ie. coming from the "desktop"
So you want to have a separate audio track for your game and your friends voice in that game chat?
I don't think this is what I was looking for. But a place I could find an answer. For some reason. I'm getting 2 tracks for game audio. Everything else is muted, and I cannot tell the different if it's just 2 audio tracks, or a left and a right one.
I want 1 track containing left and right from the game. And same with everything else. What did I screw up.
Very weird. You can definitely try messing with the tracks like we do in this video and you might be able to solve it
do you know a fix for game audio in obs sounding almost underwater or completely missing? I’m having a white noise sound and occasional (messed up) sounds come through but I can’t figure out how to fix it, no videos I find, no matter how helpful in other aspects, fix this specific issue

It doesn't pick up any audio from my voice chat when streaming to Kick. I want my viewers to be able to hear my friends in the Xbox party chat. Can you help?

Hi! I’m having this issue where I have gifs and memes for my stream deck on Streamlabs obs. The problem is when I hit the button on the stream deck to play the gifs or sounds they play on the stream, but I want to be able to hear them on my desktop audio to test how new sounds sound before I add them. so can you not configure obs to record gameplay at a higher volume? you have to output it, then edit it in a video editor?
You can simply just drag the gameplay volume slider higher in obs to do that :D
@@CpawsMusic hmm doesnt seem to make a difference for me, do you use the capture Audio (BETA) option?
Okay so i have a problem (5:35) , after many many tries, i still can't understand why this don't work. (I don't stream) So i have 3 audio track (1 2 and 3...kinda logic yes xD) but when i go to Advanced audio propreties and select, for exemple Track 1 for my PC audio (Game) Track 2 for my microphone and track 3 for Discord audio (for exemple or can be music) the game audio work but the mic and Discord don't, and in Clipchamp (wich is my "video editing software") i don't see the 3 tracks, it is because of Clipchamp or i do something wrong ?
It's possible that clipchamp can't use 3 audio tracks at the same time, try using davinci resolve, its free and what I use
@@CpawsMusic yes I'll check it tomorrow thx a lot
Gonna Watch later!
ayyyy
Hopefully, someone can help. I was using a different software program, and it just wasn't working out, so I searched for other options and found this video. I've downloaded OBS and followed all of the steps in the video, but there's an issue. I currently have two microphones hooked up. Both are recognized and assigned in the Audio Mixer field. However, when I talk into my microphone, I'm being picked up on the other microphone across the large table. My microphone meter moves, but on the playback of the file, you can tell that it's not from my mic, it sounds like it's from a distance. I then went over to the other mic and started recording and then played that file, and it's close, crisp, and clear, so that microphone is picking up whomever sits in front of it. I then went back over to my microphone and in the audio mixer area of OBS I muted the other microphone across the large table, recorded a test file, played it, and this time it picked me up on my microphone. Why won't my microphone pick me up when another is plugged in? Any help is appreciated.
Sorry not sure about that :/
