Killing yourself to live is top tier. All 4 of them going overtime. That second riff in the beginning is so funky. Tony never runs out.

i grew up on this stuff...and incredibly, i cant stress to you how much this band was hated back then. You hardly ever heard them on the radio...the critics absolutely hated them, Warner Brothers Records hardly promoted them at all...they were truly a cult band, you either loved them or hated them. Party and Boogie rock was the big thing back then, and Sabbath was just a little too heavy and truthful for the masses back then. . Now, rightfully, they are revered and truly appreciated...this album was them at their creative peak, just brilliant stuff....

It's a gas seeing you react to these. Looking for Today is another one where Tony Iommi plays the flute. Iommi is a creative genius.

Sabbath is great music, you've found a gem in the rough, will last you a lifetime once you "hear it"

Just a suggestion but after Mob Rules, go directly to Dehuminizer and then The Devil We Know to finish off the Dio Studio stuff.

Sabbath was our dirty little inlightened secret. There was no where else to go to hear
The truth or the hypnotic drive we were seeing. All else were pretenders. We were called the heads or freaks. Waiting for the revolution or an evolution while singing the words of the master sage Geezer Butler. .... Peace/ pot/ micro dot. Give it everything you've got.

it is so cool I can tell your appreciation for Sabbath is genuine. I would recommend exploring the last great album of the Ozzy era Sabotage.

I'm sure you had time to play these past few Sabbath albums on your headphones. I find that with every replay, you'll notice something else that has no right being so good. Whether it's a bass line from Geezer or a nasty drum part from Bill.
I'm 23, and nobody I know can appreciate their music as much as I do. I've been working on my Sabbath playlist since probably before Covid, and I can say there isn't a bad song on the first 6 albums. I don't go playing FX or Fluff on the regular, but I can't comprehend how they did it so perfectly.
UA-camrs can react to the sheets of music and the notes they're playing, but 99% of other reviews I've seen aren't genuine imo. You seem to truly get some of the same feelings about them that I do, and that a shit ton of other true fans do. This shit never gets old, and I'll blast it until my last day here lol.

I thought it was great seeing this guy experience this for the first time and reliving it for myself. Then I realized that every time I hear Sabbath it's always feels like the first time I heard it. It never gets old.

Damn how many Sabbath albums are you doing today!? After Sabotage it gets very mid - but then Heaven and Hell saves their career.
Can't wait for Heaven and Hell. It'll be a different Sabbath without Ozzy's voice, but with Dio on vocals it's still Sabbath. Dio saved the band Maybe do a quick bio lookup on Ronnie James Dio and his significance to the metal world. They didn't replace Ozzy with just _anyone,_ Dio is something special.

I definitely felt the same, it's different but Geezer and Tony show off some of their hottest work on Heaven and Hell. If you wanna get into Dio, I'd first check out his work with Rainbow and Richie Blackmore (deep purple). Stargazer, Catch the Rainbow, and the temple of the king are insanely good tracks that got released around the same time as Volume 4 and SBS.
If I wanted to get into Dio Sabbath over again I'd definitely listen to Heaven and hell first, Lonely is the word (Geezer going crazy on bass), Children of the Sea, and I'd go with Die Young. Then off The mob rules album you should start with with the Sign of the southern cross, falling off the edge of the world, country girl, and my favorite off the album, Over and over.

@@MarshmallowReactions - Before Heaven & Hell Listen to Ronnie James Dio In Rainbow .The album Rainbow - Rising released in 1976 is EPIC. Long story short Richie Blackmore Left Deep Purple and started Rainbow with Dio. You can continue loving Ozzy as a solo artist with the Randy Rhoads. his first 2 albums Bilzzard of OZZ & Diary of a Madman \m/

Yeah trust me I was reluctant at the time when it came out to even listen to it . I was never a big Rainbow or Dio fan but it saved and preserved Sabbath .Heaven and Hell really is a stunning album and Mob Rules is very very good
