It is not solely a matter of the officer’s relationship with his department. As a prosecutor, I enjoyed confronting drug dealers with damning photos, statements, etc. guess what. Defense attorneys and their investigators search the internet too. And the internet is a place where nothing ever dies.
I was a career smart ass and retired grateful that I only made my stupid jokes and sarcastic remarks in person to my friends. You do not want to be the cop who gets cross-examined over stereotype humor in a case with a minority defendant, or the one asked about “shoot them all and let God sort it out” in a shooting incident. Cases have been lost over this.
If need be, only share your venting in person with your closest friend. Then, hide his body. (JOKE!)
In court, everything you say will be taken out of context. Don’t give them extra ammo.
      Best, Mike

Exactly, if we're being factual humans are animals. If we're looking at meaning behind the descriptor, it's to do with animalistic/violent behavior. An example would be me getting my arm chewed into by a 300 pound man while working security as a hospital. I called him an animal. Didn't matter what his background was, the descriptor fit the behavior, like calling someone an a**hole, moron, etc. You can cry foul, scream bigotry, and plain shriek abuse as you try to shun responsibility for your actions, but if the shoe fits, lace that bitch up and wear it.

When I applied to a PD to be a Dispatcher (I have years of 911 dispatch experience). But during the polygraph they asked me 15 different ways if I had social media accounts. They actually wanted my username, password and description of my profile picture. Fuck no! Not a chance. I get that they don't want to be embarrassed down the road but #1 my user picture is not of me #2 the name is not my real name #3 I never have and never will list my job on my account #4 my phone # and work email isn't connected to my account. It is nobody's business about my posts. I have a small group of friends and a private page. I ended up not working there because of how invasive they are. They even asked me to list all my guns including serial numbers.

Granted it's a military position and not a civilian one, but one of the first things we were told in boot camp is that we are now subject to the UCMJ and not civilian law, including the constitution. We were also told that anything that could be construed as political on any way was unacceptable and would not be tolerated. This includes predjudice. And you wouldn't end up fired but In a military court.

Not just social media. In 1999, long before MySpace and Twitter, there was a guy who was a deputy sheriff in Virginia who also worked as a radio disc jockey. This was shortly after the James Byrd incident in Texas. He was playing music from an African American singer, cut the record off and mentioned something about dragging “those people” behind trucks. He lost BOTH jobs that same day. If I lived in the town where he was a cop, I’m not so sure I’d want him on my street with a badge, gun, and arrest powers either. I think he’s working graveyard shift at a 7-Eleven now.

This is why these first Admindment Auditor's attack Police Officers as well as other Public Servants. They know that they can't say anything because the complaints start pouring in against the Officer.
These frauds try to be play ground bullies, nothing more, but they fail because they are showing others just how child like they really are.
I once testified in Court against a 🤡 that assaulted me.
His lawyer asked me if I got mad because he was calling me names, I told him no.
He asked me why, and since I was on the stand, I told him that he was the one that was making an ass out of himself, and I didn't care join him in being one.
The whole Court broke out laughing, even the Judge
Defense told the Judge that he was done with me, and the Judge replied, I think you had better be.
    I got the conviction.

There is a huge problem with supervisors retaliating against their subordinates for asking questions they can't answer. Which, considering they represent the government more than the non-ranking officer, means it's the government suppressing that officer's free speech, which is wrong considering they took the same oath you did and you can't act out against a citizen because you are held to a higher standard than the citizen. After all, a supervisor committing a crime is still subjected to the laws of the state (not talking stupid 5 over speed violations), and reminding them via a question where the only answer is condemnation (and thus correction should be implied for liability reasons) that an officer is held to a higher standard should not and can not condemn an officers career, but often it does.
Why law enforcement is a shitty place to work. High stress, corrupt politicians, low pay which is worse because of an unconstitutional and often worthless retirement plan, power tripping and retaliatory supervisors who don't care to do their jobs (because of said retirement plan prevents said retirement), a job where everyone hates you, and your damned if you do and damned if you don't which is a mentality that develops because no one seem to understand cops get called as the last line of defense from some sort of anarchy - not the first, which just means everyone is going to lose because that's when cops often get involved.

While I do agree with the majority of what you said here I do have one issue. Calling someone who walks around playing a “Knockout game” with innocent people an animal, more than likely has nothing to do with race and assuming so is asinine.

Love it sir! As a law enforcement officer we should be careful about what we post because we are public servants and we should act as such at all times. People look up to us and see us as role models and we need to act accordingly in all aspects in life or that’s how I see it anyway. Great video sir. Keep me coming.

I have always liked following this channel as it breaks down police and police interactions in a fair and honest way. I also like this video and completely understand the purpose behind these regulations.
However, I am curious if there will be more push on enforcing aggravated harassment of POs on duty.
There are countless individuals out there who make it their "job" or purpose in life to intentionally go out and harass police officers on duty.
Whether they go out looking for trouble to instigate or take advantage of a police encounter to instigate there should be policies put forth to say what is free speech and what is aggravated harassment. Our POs have a job to do like everyone else and having to take time to deal with these "auditors" or "cop-blockers" or w/e they call themselves takes them away from being able to respond to ACTUAL emergencies and areas where they are ACTUALLY needed.
As much as I agree that POs need to hold themselves to a higher standard there also has to be a pushback to address the intentional obstruction / harassment of POs doing their job responding to calls and conducting investigations

I have a quick question if anyone could help me out it would be greatly appreciated, I got my first ticket tonight for a 41 in a 20 after I got the ticket I realized that the speed limit in that area is actually 30, does this matter or should I just suck it up and take my losses?

People will associate what you do and say to your place of work, no matter where you work. A cop saying something racist will be taken to mean the whole department is racist if he/she isn't fired.

While I'm not an officer, I think that can also affect other people's jobs too. I do not have anyone I work with as a Facebook friend. That way if I have a bad day at work and I vent on Facebook, or I post something I find funny (but he may not ) my boss will less likely see it.

You have freedom of speech. No law forbids you from expressing yourself, even as a cop. What we don’t have is freedom from the consequences of that speech. I’m free to say horrible things about my boss and the company I work for. There’s no law against it. But I’m not free from the consequence of getting fired as soon as I walk in the door afterwards.

In plain language you have privileges as a police officer not rights. But do you give up your rights for them ?
