@Adrian Andres thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site thru google and im trying it out now. Seems to take quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
I got some holographic paper which separated from the paper part and stuck to the inside of my machine, no tweezers could get it out and it wasn't reading the mat anymore. I was so terrified my machine would need repairs or I needed to replace it. You showing me I could just pop it open saved me so much time, stress and dealing with customer service haha Thank you!!!!
Thank you SO much! I thought I was going to have to replace my SNC. I watched your video, turned it over and removed the piece to clean the scanning plate and there was a tiny piece of painter's tape. Now the machine accepts my mats! You just saved me a bunch of $$$! Thanks so much!
Hello Kim! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO!! I bought a ScanNCut for Christmas and I was losing my mind because I was getting load mat problems! I bought a brand new mat and I got the same error I was dreading the call to Brother support when I found your video! Turn out that there was a piece of painter's tape on my scanner that was preventing it to read the codes from the mat. Thank you, thank you, thank you! I learn so much from you, you are a wonderful teacher.
Thank you soooooo much for this video. I had a piece of painters blue tape stuck to my scanner window! I couldn't figure out why I was getting the blue line on all my scans. You're the best!!!
Wish I had seen this video 2 weeks ago when I got painters tape stuck in it. I almost cried thinking I just ruined my expensive machine. I was able to use one side of the machine still and close to an hour later of constant use the tape came out in a rolled bunch. Now that I know that the machine can be cleaned I'll be sure to do it this weekend. Thanks for the tip. Only found this video cuz you mentioned it in a recent video to look it up.
Thank you so much for this video. I have the SDX125 and a piece of adhesive stuck and I didn't know where to begin to get it off. Your instructions were perfect! Now adhesive is gone, blade is clean and machine is clean.
God bless you for this video!!! I had some tape stuck inside my machine! Thank you so much for this video… Can’t thank you enough!!! I absolutely love your channel. You have taught me so much!
Thank God for this tutorial! I had no idea what was wrong with my scan n cut. I am amazed hoe dirty my scanner glass was. My machine now has had a full service and now working wonderfully. Thank you so much
Kim, I want to say thank you so much for this video. I kepted hearing this noise and I new it sounded like tape. I could not find it. For 2 years I kepted hearing noise, when I started cleaning it and turned it upside down, and open the bottom, I found 2 peices of tape. So thank you thank you so much.i did not know that the bottom opens up. I will be opening that up more often from now on.😀
Awwww Deborah, that is great. I am glad your little machine no longer has to suffer with tape inside. I thank you for your comment and I'm glad I could help.
I had to get a piece of tape out of my machine before I saw your video on how to do it. I got the back tray out, reached in with some forceps and pulled it out. Thankfully, I didn't break anything. Machine works good. Just needs a blade adjustment. Thanks for this video.
Lisa. This isn’t about mats but I shared your thoughts that the Scan n Cut was too old and bought a SDX125e and found it didn’t cut tiny intricate designs (I do miniatures) nearly as well as my Scan n Cut2. I found that getting a USB extension cable for both my computer and my Scan n Cut and having them side by side on my desk cut out most of the annoyance of trying to plug the flash drive in to the Scan n Cut every time I wanted to transfer a design. Also, this allowed me to see all the designs I had stored on the flash drive. When you transfer wirelessly with the DX machines, you only get the last file you transferred. I also found the DX to be way more finicky about everything and not as dependable. So hang onto that CM 350 there’s plenty of life in the old machine yet. PS: The info about the mat was very helpful too. .
Re-watched this video because I have bought a new mat and a new blade and wanted to get the SNC CM350 back out after many many months of its being "in the corner". This time through the viewing, I keyed in on the alignment, which is something I've never quite gotten right. You said that sometimes it needs to be done more than once. Why is that? Whatever the reason, I'll try again and again this time. Thank you for a "top tutorial" video.
Just thinking about getting into scan/cut paper crafts and looking at Brother Scan and Cut. This excellent video gave me great info I haven't found anywhere else and gives me confidence that the machine won't be too difficult to maintain and I'm sure I'll get better/cleaner results because of this info. Thank you very much
Thanks Christine! I share all of my best tips and tricks. I even share them more than once so that lots of Crafty Friends get to see them. Please use one of the links in my video descriptions when you are ready to take the plunge and purchase a ScanNCut.
Thank you Kim for this great tutorial. Your knowledge base and and the way you are able to teach and share is excellent. I have just recently gotten my machine and have learned so much from you. Thank you, thank you.
Lin, that is great to hear. I am so glad that I'm helping you become and expert on your ScanNCut. Now you know how to give it a tune-up when the time comes.
O MY GOSH Mine was NASTY!!! I was fixing to order another Blade you saved the day again!! I would not have dared to have done all this with out your video THANK YOU so much ! MINE is all clean and Like new again YAHOO!!!
I owe you a lunch with me at your favorite restaurant! Clean the mat with the product was informative, however, take the blade out of it's holder and clean it with foil was what my machine wasn't doing correctly. I owe you lunch, you name the restaurant and I'll be there with you and I'll pick up the tab! Andrew (o: (I'm in Glasgow)
If I'm even in Glasgow (which I was in the 90s), I will definitely take you up on that. So glad I could help. I am always trying to figure out ways to tune up my fleet of machines so that they cut better.
Thanks Kim, I had no idea I could clean the the glass. I was always afraid the tape would get stuck. Way less stress for me now. Thanks so much for all the maintenance tips. XOXO
Oh I can't even count the number of times I've lost tape inside of my machines. If the mats would stick well, we wouldn't need to use tape so much but we know that some things must be done. I'm glad these tips were useful to you.
Wow! I had no idea all of those areas could be cleaned! Thank you! Maybe I'll love my CM350 again after doing these tasks. That and re-sticking my mat (watched that video, too.)
Thank your for doing this video. I’m glad to know how to keep my machine and mat in great shape. I’m having a great time using my machine. Your instructions were very clear.
Well as it turns out, so many others were also wondering about maintenance. I'm glad you watched this one as I gave you a shout out. Thanks for your comment NancyJo.
Thank you so much for this! I made my adjustments for my 350, cleaned my blade and sharpened it. I will clean tomorrow! I’m sure I was way overdue! 😀. I really enjoy your channel and you are so appreciated!
Barbara, you are very welcome. Now is the time for Spring Cleaning. You will notice an improvement in your cuts when keep you machine tuned up. Thanks for your comment.
Just watched your video (thanks for all this info!) because I've just discovered an issue cutting smaller intricate designs with my DX125. I also have a CM350 and it doesn't cut smaller intricate designs very well and that's why I upgraded to the DX125. What's the secret for cutting smaller intricate designs without having to enlarge them? And I'm just curious what projects you do with each machine since you have both. Thanks for your time!
Thank you thank you thank you. I had a sticker caught on the scanning plate and I wasn’t sure what to do. All I had to do was remove tray and carefully lift out
I just dropped my machine today. Idk u could readjust and center the mats. This will be helpful. It did cut more white space on one side vs the other. Ive had my machine 2-3 yrs and didn't know that. I feel dumb lol
I had made stickers the other day. I pulled out my tray and found little pieces of sticker paper stuck on the scan screen. Thanks for the tip. Has your machine ever show an error saying “can’t recognize mat.” It was working fine now I am getting this error.
You are welcome Dawn. You only get to manually realign it when you have the CM models. The SDX models just do their own thing. I think you should try again with a different piece of white cardstock.
So for the DX, you only need put the paper in the corners and could use scraps, instead of messing up a whole sheet:) I would love to have Brother justify the higher cost of the DX mats...because I really don't see why they are so expensive.
Oh yes, when scanning, I often like using a whole sheet because there are less things to edit out (dirt on mat). When cutting, I use scraps. I am not worried about making the mat less sticky because as you know, that already happened. It is more about saving paper like you said. Some people use less paper because they say it helps them preserve the stick.
Thanks so much. I am glad you are learning a lot. I am cleaning my mats right now. I am always keeping my machine tuned up and it keeps producing amazing results for me.
@@PaperedChef I've just cleaned mine & it was filthy you have saved me a fortune. I didn't have the window wipes that you had so I used glass wipes I presumed it would be the same ish. Just letting it dry out atm then I will put it back together. I heard it say "oooo thank goodness" lol. Thanks again x
@@kathlee3389 Oh that is great. Yes, glass wipes are fine. My sister gave me a bunch of the ones to clean my glass and they work great without scratching.
Once when I scanned something into my SNC2, it showed big blue lines thru it. I figured out I could pop the bottom open, and sure enough there was blue painters tape stuck inside. I didn't even know I lost it😳 I pulled it off and cleaned it like you did.
I know right! So was mine and I am glad I produced this tutorial because my machines were in dire need of cleaning and maintenance. Thanks for watching and for your comment Patty.
I’m waiting to buy my sdx125e which comes with an auto blade. I called Brothers today and asked if I can use regular blade and they said yes. But you just said, don’t mix the blades into other machine. I was hoping to save money and use regular blade for most cuts, but the auto blade for heavier card stocks only. Or the thin foam. Advice please?
Kathlene, you will have an Autoblade with your machine so there is absolutely NO reason not to use it. You can get and extra blade if it wears down or sharpen your blade. You would still use the Autoblade for thicker materials. Brother ScanNCut SDX125E: amzn.to/2yjb6vd Brother ScanNCut SDX125: amzn.to/2VukC9d
This was such a helpful video - thank you!!! I had no idea my machine was so dirty. Originally my problem was once the cutting began, the mat started to go crooked messing up my second cut. By doing my cleaning, I saw the bottom left roller had a piece of tape on it. Super hard, but I finally got it all off. Is there and easier way to access the bottom roller in the left? Many thanks again!
Thank you sooooo much for this video. Thank you thank you thank you. Like you I have the cm and the Dx Machines. Though I have the Disney machine or will as it was just purchased online, and is on its way. Dianne
Hey What about the rollers? I mean the once that pushes the mat. My mat is dancing right to left, and I think that they might be dirty or something. Can I clean them somehow?
Hi! Just bought a 2nd hand cm700, so excited (it arrived yesterday) & so glad I found your channel (new subbie!). I’ve only managed to cut 2 things though as I now can’t feed my mat under the left side roller, where the blade housing is. I tried to cut a row of stars; it cut the 1st one, tore the paper on 2nd & didn’t cut that one out then the next stars didn’t cut out either, just score lines. I thought I needed to change depth of blade so fiddled with the housing dial, put it back in (clip doesn’t seem to close well unless the part is down low). Then it’s as if the blade is protruding too far to get the mat under it and up to the roller on the left. I’ve fiddled for 2 hrs. Checked manual & found this video but no answer to my dilemma. Wondered if you could advise. I’m waiting for a reply from Brother (could be 5 days...).
Welcome to my channel EH. I had a lot of trouble with my mat loading when I purchased my 3rd ScanNCut. Brother replaced the mat and then the machine. It was under warrantee. Once I got through all of the tweaks, I loved my new machine. I hope you hear back from Brother. My advice is to call their support line. That is faster than email. I have had to call many times myself. I also have a a ScanNCut User Group. That is where you can share your projects and ask for help troubleshooting. facebook.com/groups/paperedchefscanncut
@@PaperedChef hello! Nice to hear from you. I joined your FB group a few days ago :) already liked lots of posts :). Since my msg above, have heard back from Brother (Europe) after phoning them, they transferred issue to relevant dept & told it can take 5 days. Luckily heard back the next morning but it seems that the whole housing needs to be replaced as it’s dropped down (blade case bib is touching the base of the machine!) and they have never heard of it happening before...! Said I need to send it to Brother by courier (££) for a quote for parts & repair. In the meantime I realised that my blade case is looking quite worn so asked on Fb it was normal wear n year. Other users have said no! I’ll share to your FB now, would appreciate your opinion :)
Thanks Barbara, I have coupons once or twice a month and will definitely have more in May. Thanks for checking out my latest video where you even have a shout out!
Papered Chef can you please help I have a scan and cut cm 800q it has started making a awful noise and now it’s not cutting properly I have noticed one of the tiniest rollers on springs has come off I can not put it back , these are located in the front of the machine would that cause this to happen I have cleaned the scan bar and needle not sure if it can be fixed Any idea what it could be thank you .
Thank you. I thought I ruined my scanncut vinyl was stuck imy machine. Now I can at least maintain my machine while I figure out how to do all the other stuff
This isnt a cleanimg question...I have a SnC mc350...my mat isnt tacky so someone told me to use the zig glue. I have the glue but what i need to know is if im to put the glue on the entire mat or just a section? Also am i to apply the glue then allow it to dry and reapply again? If so how many times do i repeat the process? I also dont have the sheet that goes over the mat to keep it clean etc is there something i can use until i order a new mat? Last question...whats the better mat to buy..standard tack or low tack? TIA
Whisper white sticks to standard tack though..... I know eventually they will lose tackiness... but it drives me mad when whisper white gets stuck! Lol.
The good news is that it doesn’t stick for long. Soon, your Standard Tack Mat will become a Low Tack and you will long for the days. I condition my mat with Designer Series Paper or use it as a lint remover before I buy Whisper White on there. Thanks for your comment.
Thanks so much for your brilliant tutorials. You are so clear! It’s much appreciated. I’ve been a demo for 8 years, but only got my sac machine 3 days ago. I’m in love with it!
Cheryl, thanks for your comment. I like producing videos which everyone can relate to. We all need to do some Spring Cleaning. Now that my machines are tuned-up, I need to tackle to task of cleaning up my craft room.
Hello I have the Brother ScanNCut SDX125E Cutting Machine when I did a cleaning and tried to power it back up I get a orange flashing screen now and it wont turn on. Have I ruined my machine? Or is there a fix for this issue? Please and thank you for any assistance.
My scan n cut dx drifts when cutting heavier vinyl like vinyl & brick used to cut them perfectly but only cutting regular vinyl without drifting. What can be the cause?
Thank you for the tutorial. I haven't purchased my scan n cut yet so I am still a newbie at this. When I get my machine, how will I know when it needs to be cleaned? I am thinking it will depend on how often I use it. Does the machine not work correctly when it needs to be cleaned?
Helen, there is no defined period of time. Just like car, the machine runs better when it is tuned up. I have had viewers tell me that had never cleaned their machines for 2 years. They still work. You can just make them work even better if you keep them well maintained. Thanks for watching and for your comment. When you are ready to take the plunge and purchase one, please use one of my links on any one of my tutorials. Thanks.
Hi. Ive gone through your steps and my cm350 sgill has a sliding mat issue. Its almost like some9catches on the left side of the mat. Abd releas es on the right side
Hi, this is very helpful thanks you :). If I may ask.. I have an old but very sparingly used CM350 ScanNCut. After ages, I tried cutting regular cardstock today and I find that the blade cuts and drags against the material wherever it is travelling across the mat - so basically it cut everywhere it travels - all criss-cross etc. I notice that this is the case with a brand new blade holder/blade and also the penholder/pen as well. I am wondering if the problem is with the carriage - no clearance between the carriage and the mat. Any recommendations please? Thanks so much
You are very welcome Marleen. The sticky tack all depends on how much you use your mats. I have needed to re-tack after a couple of days around Christmas time when my machines were all working full time. During regular usage, I retake after about 2 weeks. Washing the mats removes a lot of lint so you have to wash the mats prior to re-tacking them.
Hi there. Thanks for the great videos. I have the 125dx also. I've never aligned it, but noticed it's a little off. If I follow your directions but it still needs tweeking, do I need to rotate the paper so it reads the next alignment cuts it will make, or can I just leave the paper on the mat without rotating it? I'm not sure if the first alignment cuts would interfere with any subsequent tries. I agree with you that they really need to update this to let you adjust with arrows like your other machine. Thanks for your help!
Juanita, you hit the nail right on the head. With the SDX, you have to say Yes it is aligned or No and then you go back through the process. I can do the process 10 times and my machine still will not be aligned as well as it is with the CM350. You as a customer should let Brother know what you want for features. I have no idea why they took the ability away. I like the results of the CM350 better when cutting stamped images. Hang in there. You can get acceptable results after a while. Don't rotate your paper. Just keep aligning your machine until your stamped images cut out properly.
@@PaperedChef Thanks for your fast reply. I'll give it a try and if it's not right I'll let them know. I did have the 350, bit sent it back for this newer one at the time. I wanted the 650w because you could scan 12x24 and use my embroidery files, but couldn't afford it and thought I got a pretty good deal with this. And the dx225 was over budget. Seems like all the accessories are pretty pricey too. I did buy the memory keepers foil pens and also the foil pens that hook up to the dx125. I really like them. I wish the mats worked both sides in. I really wish they had the advanced blades and accessories like the newer cricut machines. They've really come a long way. Anyway. sorry to blab so much. 🤭 Lol! Thanks for your advice and help.
I have the same scan n cut. It all of the sudden it loads mat then says mat not recognized . Rollers roll the process of loading goes through then says not recognized. Brand new mat
Cynthia, You can use any pens which will fit into the Universal Pen Holder. There are some fonts more suitable for this. There is a Calligraphy Starter Kit for the ScanNCut you can check out as well.
It will not be too sticky for very long. I just condition my mat when I first get it by cutting paper which doesn't have a lot of fibers. If paper does get stuck, I was it off with Dawn dishwashing liquid and warm water. I also restick my mats often. Here is a tutorial. ua-cam.com/video/Y9wdsgFL0fY/v-deo.html
Have you ever had the message INITIALIZATION OF THE BLADE POSITION FAILED TURN MACHINE OFF on the SDX? Machine is almost new and was working fine. I used pen tool and then put cutting holder back in and got this message. I took it all apart and tried removing the spring and knife blade. It scans fine but just as it starts the cutting process it stops and that message comes up again. Have sent question to Brother but no answer yet.
Bonnie, I don't think that has happened but maybe the latch isn't all the way shut or something went wrong like the blade got misaligned. Try doing a Scanning/Cutting Position Adjustment to see if that will help. ua-cam.com/video/bfnbemwozkA/v-deo.html
@@PaperedChef I tried but it won't let me get that far. Finally heard from Brother who told me to turn the machine off. That, after I told them I had done that at least 25 times! Found a local service shop. Taking it there this week. Machine is only a month old, I sure hope this is a one time thing! Thanks for your help....
Cynthia, you can check out my video on sharpening your blades which will help you extend their lives. Still, it is good to have an extra one on hand. This is a link to the Autoblade you need for the SDX125. This is not the holder, just the blade. Unless your springs are worn out, you will probably just need the blade, not the holder.
Thank you so very much for a quick reply. I love watching your your UA-cam videos. You are amazing. You make it easy but still am nervous in using my SDX125. CON TINUE THE GOOD WORK IN HELPING ENJOY US ENJOY CARD MAKING. 😊👀
Hi there. I have a cm350 and i have done the calibration many times but it appears that the mat itself is slightly shifting during my cuts and i believe that may be why my lines are off. Have you encountered this issue before?

Hope you had even better results after you cleaned your machine. You are very welcome Donna!
@@PaperedChef Yes, definitely getting better results!
I don't have a Scan N Cut machine, but can you make a hole in the mat to hang it up?
Thank your for doing this video. I’m glad to know how to keep my machine and mat in great shape. I’m having a great time using my machine. Your instructions were very clear.
Well as it turns out, so many others were also wondering about maintenance. I'm glad you watched this one as I gave you a shout out. Thanks for your comment NancyJo.
What kind od glue did U use & where can U get it? Thanks for the video! Learned a lot
Cleaning mats is so satisfying.
Ingrid, I'm glad you are having fun cleaning. I like the results more than the process. We all love sticky mats.
Oops! I’m glad that is all that is wrong. Here is how to fix it. ua-cam.com/video/8EVcwMewrWQ/v-deo.html
What a very nice video for beginners.. I will be buying min next week ..hugss n thank you
You will love it and it’s on sale too!
I had made stickers the other day. I pulled out my tray and found little pieces of sticker paper stuck on the scan screen. Thanks for the tip. Has your machine ever show an error saying “can’t recognize mat.” It was working fine now I am getting this error.
Such a great video! Thank you for your wonderful instructions and tips! I just became a subscriber!
Awesome! Thank you! Welcome to my channel.
Thank you so much for this tutorial. Really helpful!❤
You are so welcome! I'm glad I could help! We all need to keep our machines tidy!
🥰 watching now! Thanks Kim 🌈🌈
MINE IS CUTTING LIKE BRAND NEW NOW THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!
Oh that is great Mary. The ball of foil trick will make your blade last much longer too.
I sewed a dust cover for mint cm900 works very well
Great idea Joyce. My Mom is a seamstress and offered to make dust covers but I use them so much that I never actually “store” them.
Thanks for the tutorial. When I realign the blade I don’t get cross hairs, just a lot of vertical lines. Any suggestions about what I should do?
Thanks for this, Kim! :) My new SDX125 comes home on Sunday! :) So excited!
I like that. The machine is coming HOME. Home to its Craft Room. Thanks for watching and for participating in my FaceBook group.
When cutting glitter card, do I place the glitter side down on the mat? Thanks for the great videos!💖
Wow what a brilliantly explained video. Whenever I watch I learn so much from you thank you x
Thank you for all the tips on maintenance!
Thanks for your comment and for watching. I hope you give your ScanNCut a tune-up.
Once when I scanned something into my SNC2, it showed big blue lines thru it. I figured out I could pop the bottom open, and sure enough there was blue painters tape stuck inside. I didn't even know I lost it😳 I pulled it off and cleaned it like you did.
I’m glad you figured it out. I bet you were pleasantly surprised by your discovery. Thanks for your comment Yvonne.
If you use the duck tape on the SDX may? Will the auto blade be able to detect the correct blade depth?
Oh my goodness! Thanks for the blade tip. My blade was so dirty!!
I know right! So was mine and I am glad I produced this tutorial because my machines were in dire need of cleaning and maintenance. Thanks for watching and for your comment Patty.
Great maintenance tips, Kim! TFS! 💜
Thanks Deborah. I'm glad I made this video tutorial because my machines really needed to be cleaned. I hope you give it a try too.
I put some rubbing alcohol on a Kleenex and clean the rollers as the mat is loading or scanning.
Brother ScanNCut SDX125E: amzn.to/2yjb6vd

Bonjour ! Merci pour votre tuto qui m'a permis d'avoir une vue complète de l'entretien pour ma sdx !
That's what it's all about Tas! I am so glad you gave this a try. I appreciate you sharing your results!
Thank you sooooo much for this video. Thank you thank you thank you. Like you I have the cm and the Dx Machines. Though I have the Disney machine or will as it was just purchased online, and is on its way. Dianne
Great! More Crafty Goodness on the way. You are very welcome Dianne!
Hey
What about the rollers? I mean the once that pushes the mat. My mat is dancing right to left, and I think that they might be dirty or something. Can I clean them somehow?
Great video. Very helpful. Thanks Kim.
Thanks Barbara. It is something that I have to do a lot.
@@eh2179 That blade holder didn't look normal to me. Mine looks nothing like that. I hope you have a Brother dealer who can fix your issue for you.
Have to wait until May to order another class. Hopefully you will have coupons in May. Thanks Kim!
Thanks Barbara, I have coupons once or twice a month and will definitely have more in May. Thanks for checking out my latest video where you even have a shout out!

Thank so much, your tutorial save my sdx125 uwu, hard sticker in the scanner
Thank you. I thought I ruined my scanncut vinyl was stuck imy machine. Now I can at least maintain my machine while I figure out how to do all the other stuff
Oh I had that SAME feeling before when my tape was stuck inside. Luckily, it comes out easily. Thanks for watching.
This isnt a cleanimg question...I have a SnC mc350...my mat isnt
tacky so someone told me to use the zig glue.
You are the best I keep learning from you thank you for all you do ❤️❤️
Thanks Janet! Glad I found your uplifting comment!
Hi Kim I followed your video step by step and when I start it after inserting the mat it says 'Attach Appropriate holder. Am I missing something?
Extremely useful video, Kim!!!! Thank you for your time and great information!!!
Thank you for a super helpful video! You rock!!
You are very welcome Andrea. I'm glad it was helpful. I tune up my machines often.
My scan n cut dx drifts when cutting heavier vinyl like vinyl & brick used to cut them perfectly but only cutting regular vinyl without drifting. What can be the cause?
This is a great video! It’s especially helpful to anyone researching to buy a machine.
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching.
Thanks.
I have a piece of painters tape stuck in the front roller, am afraid of breaking something - how do I get it out? HELP
Hi. Ive gone through your steps and my cm350 sgill has a sliding mat issue. Its almost like some9catches on the left side of the mat. Abd releas es on the right side
You are something very special!!
Awww! That is very nice of you. Thanks for watching!
What a great tutorial, so helpful, thank you
Glad it was helpful Angela. My machines are working so much better now that I gave them tune ups.
Thanks so much
I have the same problem!
Thanks for the helpful tips. How long does the mat remain tacky after treatment with ZIG? 😉💐
Can i use calligraphy markers in scan and cut 2
Thanks
Cynthia, You can use any pens which will fit into the Universal Pen Holder. There are some fonts more suitable for this. There is a Calligraphy Starter Kit for the ScanNCut you can check out as well.
What do you do with a new Mat that is too tacky, leaves paper residue or cant scrape it off?
Excellent explanation and video demos.
Thanks Angela. I hope you do your Spring Cleaning with your ScanNCut. It will run so much smoother and give you better cuts when you keep it tuned up.
Thank you so much - it helped to clean ❤
Have you had problems it cutting? it says it is but there's no cuts on the paper
Thank you so much. This is a very helpful video.
Is there anyway to clean of paper that I can’t remove
Yes Joyce, I just use warm water and Dawn detergent and scrub my mat. Others recommend Totally Awesome cleaner from Dollar Tree.
Glad to see this❣❣❣
Great, I am glad this helped you.
What size blade is used SDX125
Cynthia, you can check out my video on sharpening your blades which will help you extend their lives. Still, it is good to have an extra one on hand. This is a link to the Autoblade you need for the SDX125. This is not the holder, just the blade. Unless your springs are worn out, you will probably just need the blade, not the holder.

Hi there. I have a cm350 and i have done the calibration many times but it appears that the mat itself is slightly shifting during my cuts and i believe that may be why my lines are off. Have you encountered this issue before?
Yes, I’ve had mats slip. Clean the rollers and perhaps sand the top of them so they catch onto the rollers too. Be sure your lever is down tight.
@@PaperedChef thank you so much for your reply. I will try that out! Do I sand the top of the mat edges? Or the rollers?
The top edge of the mat so that the rollers can catch it easily.
