Thank you for being so precise in describing the details, especially on chasing them with your hips and locking at the tricep vs the armpit. That was a light bulb moment for me as a lowly white belt that tries to snatch up Darce chokes that folks always survive.
I haven't got to train in several months due to our newborn baby, it's definitely good to pick up some new details about the darce and anaconda.. Thank you Brandon!
Man, the level of knowledge is insane. I know i shouldnt be suprised given hes a blackbelt from 10th planet but every video i watch i discover a new way this guy could kill someone😂 outstanding.
Lots of gems in this video. Thanks much! I notice that wether you do a darce or anaconda you choose the option where the “knot” of your figure-four’d arms is on the top side - towards the ceiling. But in a regular darce from half guard, the knot is on the bottom- mat side. For example, at 4:50, why switch the choking arm? I feel like there’s a principle that governs this but I can’t think of it.
Are talking about when I slip my head through and go to the marce? I think the top side finish is the most powerful once you get the hang of it. But I feel like I find the marce finish more often. What I want you to strive for is to have no preference for either. Allow your opponent to hang himself and just follow him wherever he leads you; just keep the trap closed with those 4 rules. Let all your movements and counters be movements that deepen the trap. Wait until the time is right and lock it up.
@@brandonmcninja Thank you for your reply! Yes, the 4 rules makes sense, and letting the opponent choose how to hang themself makes sense too, but I'm trying to understand the principles of the marce and anaconda rather than memorizing specific entries to them. It seems like the marce can be applied with choking arm above them or below them depending on your bodies orientations to each other whereas I usually only see the anaconda with their choking arm (their arm in your loop) on the topside. I think an anaconda with the choking arm on the bottom isn't ideal because they'd be laying right on my hand/elbow, so it's better to just switch to a marce like you did in the video. Am I understanding that right?
Hey! How do you prevent them to rip your chin strap immediately after you roll over your shoulder. That's the most common reaction I am seeing before them trying to turn away or towards me. Thank you
Nothing like figuring out a key reason why your darce sucks in the first 5 seconds of the video. Behind Danaher and Gordon, BMac’s the best on the net.
The Marce is the variation where you finish from your side or back, as demonstrated in the video. The name comes from “Marc Laimon’s Darce,” as he’s the one who popularized this variation of it many years ago.
It's 10:55pm night here I m here because I love jiu jitsu of Brandon

I rolled with a brown belt today and his whole game was darce anaconda guillotine! I got caught with all three 🤣

Nibbled on an edible and just laser focused into some of these vids. Great details. Thanks 👍
I was just trying to figure these chokes and how they correlate in flow and I stumble across this amazing breakdown. THANKS
Love the Audioslave in the background! RIP C.C
Great shorts and even better technical tips. Thank you, Brandon.

@@brandonmcninja Thank you for the clarification. This is very helpful!
Thanks for the great tips
Hit a perfect one in training tonight without it ever being taught! I have always had a good guillotine though.

Beautiful
Can you show how to defend and avoid this from bottom, thanks
I thought this was gonna show me how to apply a darce choke to a snake.

I wish I had a job where I could go to work in bmacs outfit
ha ha i had to make my own job
🙌🔥
What about having thick arms? No go?
Not an issue
Algo
What's w the shorts??
They are very short
Joking aside.. ty for the video..
Is chewing gum mandatory in your classes?
I wouldn’t say mandatory, but certainly allowed 😂🙏💕
You didnt make a point about trapping a leg with your leg when applying the darce. Why?
I don’t usually find that necessary. I almost never trap a leg

@@brandonmcninja interesting, but isn’t the darce typically done while on your side?
@@dhl671 not always. It’s a really versatile position. Finished from top or bottom
