Awwww... 14:51 Why didn't you show us HOW you Painted it? This turned out so well... but I'm sad, because I wanted to learn How To Paint Foam board... Thank you for sharing this video.
Ahah! One step ahead of you! If you watch ua-cam.com/video/d6Sjv6R-WPw/v-deo.html I go through the whole painting process! I try not to repeat techniques in ever video, but I make sure that I either link or mention a video where I did do it :). If I failed to mention it I do apologize. Regardless, I hope this helps :). Thanks for watching!
I really love this . I am a huge Pirates of the caribbean fan as last year that was the theme of my front of house display for Halloween. When I saw this I just have to make this but put a pirate spin on it . Great tutorial thanks for sharing !
Hey Beachedsoul77, I'm really happy you enjoyed this video, if you poke around my channel there is a whole slew of pirate related props, my favourites being the treasure chest and the full sized canon! If there are other pirate props you would like to see my spin on, throw the idea my way and I'll see what I can do! Thanks for watching :)
I am sure everyone carries a scrapbook of far flung ideas around all the time right? I found I have so many ideas at the weirdest times, if I don’t write them down they return from whence they came never to be heard from again! So each new idea gets its own page, some get fleshed out, others remain as just a title on a page. Thanks for watching!!
Dig it... One note, the hardboard is really bad in damp locations so if making this with intent of it being outside, I would sub some exterior plywood and ensure it is painted on all surfaces...
100% agreed! I had built this as an interior decoration but outdoors, the hardboard soaks up water like a sponge so swapping out the backer board with plywood would be a good idea. Thanks for watching!
Thanks Mr. Deoblo! I admit I had no idea when you first commented what HFL meant! Took me just a few moments to realize its "Halloween for life" Thanks for watching :)
Hey Jacob, in my neck of the woods it is listed as Hardboard, here is a Home Depot link which should help you chase it down! www.homedepot.ca/product/metrie-standard-hardboard-1-8-x-4-x-8/1000167412
I would put a cheap ring on one of the hands, something big and "royal" looking. Nice work, I can't wait to do something similar, thanks for the inspiration!!!!
Super fun prop my friend, what a great creative idea! I love it! And yeah, sooooo many possibilities! You could also add some simple shreds of jute net, creepy cloth, or cobwebs hanging down over the black background to break it up! Thanks again for sharing another amazing build!🎃🏴☠️☠️👍
Lol, I added the creepy cloth to the back to try it out but decided to not re-record the end section! Lol. It does have a ton of uses, and can really add some fun to a room easily 😀. Thanks for watching Mr.Grim!
I love this. Looks fantastic. You're killing it with the foam builds. Why are you not a member of the Trio Of Terror Facebook group and sharing your videos? More people need to see these awesome tutorials!
This reminds me of a creepy character to greet you as you enter a cool dark ride!! I love it!! On an unrelated note, for the longest time, I thought "Samhain" was pronounced just like it's spelled.🤪
It was a fun project, I want to do more fake depth projects like this and I have a low profile bookshelf I have in the works right now. I like the idea of warping the perspective of the actual size of a room. I also get you on the "Samhain" and "Saw-win" pronunciation, It was not the best name for easily telling people my channel, but at the same time Samhain is such a great ancient tradition and the origin of Halloween. I had to honour it :). Thanks for watching Fraidy!
@@SamhainPropworks Yeah! It's a great channel name, and inspires people to learn more about the origins of Halloween. --As for warping the perception of room size, I just put up temporary black wall coverings in one room, and somehow it didn't make the feel as claustrophobic as I expected!
Someone once commented when they came in my house and I had put up a new wall to separate rooms, "Everyone is so busy taking walls down, you are the only person I know who is putting them up!" I have always liked a house to have almost independent zones, I hate trying to decorate a huge open concept, I can't throw enough decor at it to really transform the space. To each their own, but if I could ever get my hands on a 1900's mansion with 20 small rooms, I would be in happy land. Every room would be a theme and I would never take down my decorations! lol
