I agree with everything you said, which is why I did the same set up after you had them installed. I did have Jason wrap mine in leather and it does make a world of difference. Definitely a missed opportunity, but I know we’ll see it wrapped in alcantara some day. Thanks for sorting this out for us.
Hands down the best street built VA STI. I’ve never seen someone else’s build that if I were to buy it I wouldn’t need to change or remove anything. Usually I’m like “ I like the car but I don’t like those tail lights” or wing etc. but you and I have a very similar taste and your car is perfect IMO. Great job bud
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. What is ugly or “clean” to one is not for another. Thank goodness for diverse tastes. Although I am biased pro OEM plus in my tastes gauges need to be positioned to prevent distracted driving. Form should follow function, the essence of good design and ergonomics. An engine readout behind the shifter fails that test for me, maybe not for others when “exercising” their engines and suspension where focus on driving is critical. Like my eyes to be looking over the dash straight ahead. Aftermarket heads up displays to me would offer the optimal solution. Seen one Amazon with a quick search. With the proper mounting frame this set up would check all the boxes for OEM plus, ergonomics and functionality. One last observation hyper car and exotic car designers are all over pod mounted gauge arrangements, Pagani and Koenigsegg to name two. Absolutely gorgeous and superlative in their look and function.
No need as I only need one for the wireless CarPlay which is in the glovebox. Otherwise, I don’t use the USB’s. But a cool idea for people who use them!
Great videos and an even better sti build! You mentioned that an oil temperature would be your next gauge to install. Where would you put the sensor for the temp reading? And would you mind doing an install video for your gauge? Thanks for putting our so much awesome and informative content. Keep up the good work!
Hope all is well man. Im currently stock outside of a catback but considering stage 1+ with a protune on my 2020 & love these guages. Didnt see an install vid from ya, if you can remember how was that process difficulty and time wise? Thanks!
I ordered the single Cubby Pod for my AEM wideband. Haven’t installed yet, Accounting class is killing my schedule. Was just looking at the Revel gauges but was undecided. Surprise you have a video on them. Now my purchase it set but I’ll be getting the oil pressure and temp. Just need to find the best location to place the temperature gauge.
Really like your approach on your gauges, however the way I look at it is, in sight in mind. I wanted my 3 aem gauges on the a pillar because I can see them directly when Im driving regardless of whether they look good or not.
If you want to keep an eye on it most of the time, wouldn't it be easier to have it on the cluster in terms of visual? I really do like yours. It is clean, but im just wondering, I would have to look down while driving to see the numbers, as opposed to if its on the cluster gauge, its right in front of you. What are your thoughts? Is it annoying to keep looking down? Thanks
The gel ones peel after a while. I used some gloss black vinyl to wrap the emblems first and remove all the chrome then got a basic gloss decal and put it over that.
Not as big of an annoyance in person as you’d think. I also realized it may be off centered like that as well so you have access to the 12v as well. Depending on the gauge, you might run into clearance issues if you used it and the gauge harness or body was in the way.

I’ve never had any issues with my AEM gauges however my friend also had these and if I needed too, I would switch to these. 👍🏼

Thanks for the kind words!
I agree!! Only other one ive seen is smeedia's sti.

I like the clean oem set up. I currently have 4 prosport gauges on the pillar, not clean but great to monitor while driving.
Watched the old interior video to figure out what gauges you had. Glad you made this video switching over to this from my AEM setup.
Good choice and glad to help!
Why don’t you add USB ports in that open space since the gauges are off to one side ?
No need as I only need one for the wireless CarPlay which is in the glovebox. Otherwise, I don’t use the USB’s. But a cool idea for people who use them!

I run the killer b oil pan which has another threaded hole for a sensor.
Really like the gauges. Much nicer than the aem crap everyone on UA-cam has. Thanks for showing a much better option.

My shop did the gauges when I went to stage 3.
Right on, ty

Nice video, but I have a question, do you know what is the normal temperature range for a 2008 STI or EJ25?

Never found it to be annoying. In your line of sight would be a bit easier for sure, but the aesthetic of this won me over on it.
Me: looks nice but wish they were centered
Scooby: I wish they were centered
Love it, please tell me what diffuser you have? It’s perfect and I need it lol

@@Scoobyfreak86 even better! thanks for your time🤙
Have the VLS wideband as well as a banks obd2 gauge on Smy dual gauge pod looks great
But definitely like your setup 👍
I don’t have a Subaru, I still gotta watch these vids.
Thanks for the support!
Looks good the guages my man
can i get a link to ur diffuser? u said ikon motor sports in one of ur videos but didn’t link it in description, and i’d really like to purchase one
I don’t run that one anymore
What is a wideband sensor? What can you read from the air/fuel ratio? Sorry, I’m new to that. Usually only use oil temp & pressure
Wideband measured the air to fuel ratio. Allows you to monitor if the car is running lean or rich.
@@Scoobyfreak86 Guess in a stock engine not that of an importance (?)
Not needed unless running more power/boost.
what seats are those? they look superb

Do I need a separate Mount if I wanna put it on The cluster cockpit?
Yes it’s an entirely different part
@@Scoobyfreak86 Also did you need an adaptor plate for the sensors?
Did you drill holes in the cubby for the wires?
Yes just one small hole in the back for the wires to pass through.
Where did you get the steering wheel sticker? Is it a gel one?
The gel ones peel after a while. I used some gloss black vinyl to wrap the emblems first and remove all the chrome then got a basic gloss decal and put it over that.
An excellent alternative would have been upholstered in alcantara or carbon vinyl
Have one wrapped in alcantara coming!
🔥🔥🔥
What shift knob is that?

The fact that it is not centered is the only thing holding me back from buying this immediately.

could put it on the cluster
