      Off topic, but would like to see Avalon King XI, I've applied it to my daily driver. Beading really well everywhere except where I tried to apply a second layer on the lower portion of the doors. I waited the specified time, but sheeting slowly after 2 weeks :(

    This review work of products is a LOT of work to trace and keep records of and it's really appreciated along with the detailed explanation of the material science.
    As a guy who has seen ceramic coatings come up and remembers before they existed I still am floored by them. Adam's on the trunk lid was almost COMICALLY good compared to the competition.

    I personally know for a fact that many products out there are really just a waste of money.

    This series has so much potential! I'm loving it and thank you. I would like to see some of the strong contenders be moved to panels that get more exposed to the elements like behind the wheels and also see how they perform on direct sunlight since some of the strong performers are on the sides. The cancoat for one needs to be set on a different area of the car since it's performing so well but I feel like it's on a spot where it doesn't get exposed to the elements as much as the others.

    Awesome program, Just subscribed. Regarding the windshield test in particular, but also on any vertical subject test, consider dividing four vertical quadrants across, rather than horizontal quadrants where one competitors products is placed above and below the other. The water runoff in some instances seems to overwhelm the product placed below its competition. In the windshield flooding stage, the product on the bottom appeared at times to be subjected to larger volumes of water. Just a thought.

    I used the seal and shine on my wife’s 2021 Telluride and just cleaned it beforehand. It’s been on for two months give or take a couple weeks and it still beads and rolls off like when I first put it on. I am in upstate NY where the summer has been cooler and raining. So it might be lasting longer for me. Love this series of testing and though.

    Really appreciate the videos! Picked up detailing tools thanks to your videos during lockdown and did full paint restoration on a 2008 Mazda 5 we have owned since new and has 215,000 miles on it.
    All that to say this. Ceramic coated half the car with no-name ceramic coating from Amazon and the other half with Adams grapheme spray coating. The car has been parked outside in Las Vegas since March 2021. During my wash today the Adams graphene on the roof has given up. Other than the wheels and the roof, both coatings are still performing great.
    Have to find some time to polish the roof and apply a new product to protect it. Used the Adams grapheme detail spray on the roof for today.
    Thanks for the videos and inspiration!

    Even though the TC582 is dead, I don't expect any spray on paint protectant to last long. For the price, easy of use and short term protection between maintenance washes every 3-4 weeks, I've stop using any quick detailing spray I have and have substituted TC582, at least the TC582 provides some protection at the expense of show car "quality" super gloss. Love the tests, good or bad.

Also interesting to see the "games" various companies play wrt product availability (Adams and Optimum seem to play for exclusivity more than others - are there others doing this as well?). In our local detalier's case "exclusivity" makes it difficult to obtain certain desirable products.

    Hey Jason excellent video! But to be fair to CSL, CSL should be topped with EXOV4 to help with self cleaning. Gyeon like you said has two layers to help with it’s cleaning also! Gyeon highly recommends you top with Gyeon Skin. So that 3 layers of protection. I think redoing CSL with the recommend EXOV4 layers would be a good comparison to GYEON MOHS.

    I'm not sure but I think comparing vertical surfaces to horizontal ones is little bit inaccurate, don't know if it plays a too big of a role though. Of course water flows faster on a vertical surface, that seems obvious but also as horizontal surfaces probably heat up more in the sun.

    • @TannerBobbitt
      @TannerBobbitt 3 роки тому +1

      Actually sheeting is better. It reduces the amount of water spots that are left on the paint after the panel gets wet. Companies are working on making sheeting coating currently.

    • @yftinthyn007
      @yftinthyn007 3 роки тому

      @@TannerBobbitt this is not correct. In real life scenarios, sheeting products cause water to stick to the paint. Mother Nature doesn’t use a controlled stream of water from a hose to “sheet” off the water. It’s an illusion because sheeting products actually make your car look dirtier because dirt AND water wind up sticking to it making one giant water spot.

    • @yftinthyn007

    I think flooding a panel is more unrealistic compared to real rain conditions. It might just be my preference but I don't care for the water beading that gets left behind and dries, leaving water spots. I prefer a sheeting product that leaves the least amount of water on the panel and therefore the least amount of water spotting. What products do you recommend if any that resist micro-marring, scratching and simply sheet water off instead of beading like crazy?

For a lot of people they want to know what installer they should go with based on brands they use as well as knowing what line is most cost effective. For me for example, I want it done professionally and the shop I’m looking at offers flash or mohs for an extra $500 and I would like to know if there is an appreciable difference that would make it worth it. Would love to be able to get Detail Wise Academy further west! I'm in Utah so all of those tour dates are too far for me to make. Love what you're doing regardless.

      Topper is not really a coating. It goes over spray coating that's why it's called topper.

    You should try polish angel products

      Do you mean Angelwax ? I'd like to see those done too, except they kind of go against one of the underlying philosophies here: affordability/ cost-effectiveness in a commercial environment. In the case of trying the more expensive waxes, some of the Swissvax ones would also be interesting, especially because many are dedicated to certain car brands and their respective proprietary paints and clearcoats... But those are Ridiculously expensive. Like 3 and 4 Hundred dollars or more for a small tub.
