    I've tried more low end protectants than I'd like to admit and for Ceramic based products, Griots 3-1 Ceramic spray wax is by far the most durable. For slightly more work to apply and way more slickness and Gloss- Turtle Wax 75th Anniversary Ceramic and Graphene paste wax is F'ing phenomenal. I Drive it daily up here in Toronto Canada, through all kinds of crap weather. Its parked in a condo underground overnight, but outside during the day. Result; The finish still looks amazing, like new. Oh almost forgot, I pay $17.99 a bottle (Spray Wax) at Walmart and it lasts over a year. The Liquid Wax with applicator lasts me years.

    Great follow up. Liked your point system. Somewhat surprised by some products. I've started using Can Coat myself and have been very pleased with it. For as easy as it is to use, it seems to be fairly long lasting. Inexpensive, nice looks, and it is still going on the durability side.

  • @maineeackkilla
    @maineeackkilla 3 роки тому +20

    • @LuisNY
      @LuisNY 3 роки тому +2

      I also think the pointing system is not accurate... But over or under performance should not count on the pointing system... A true result would be the lowest cost per application and how many times it needs to be applied to protect the paint for 12 months, easy of use must also consider how many times it needed to be applied for that 1 year protection.

    I personally use the 303 spray coating as more of a ceramic coating. The application seems to go smoother if you treat it as such and use an application sponge. I also use Mothers ceramic wash additive in my snow foam gun and I gotta say that combo is fantastic. After 6 months the 303 was still behaving like it was new on the upper half of the car but the lower portion of the car was a little less hydrophobic. I’ve reapplied another layer of 303 and will be using Q2M wet coat every month after every second wash to see if that helps keep the coating more intact.

    Looking forward to TW Seal N Shine, Flex Wax, and the Koch Chemie sealant! This is my favorite series as I've always wanted to find the best protection for the winters. I have been using Seal N Shine on my car for the last year now!

    Where my problem with tests like this is what you see with CQuartz and CSL. The absolute beating some panels take more than others. I’d be interested to see a vehicle with CQuartz and CSL pitted like this straight up. One half in CQuartz and the other side CSL. I’m also disappointed to not see TW Ceramic spray here. With two coats, it lasted 8 months of winter. I’m really impressed with it.

    This strange, I’ve used ceramic slam for two years now and it’s been BY FAR the easiest coating I’ve ever used. Much easier that regular wax or any of the spray on ceramics I’ve tried. Just wipe it on, wait 5 mins, it wipes off with almost no effort. Very surprised.

    Oh boy, these new sprays may make life hard for us in the coming years. I bet there will be a once a year polish or wax, that you just spray on and let dry, you did a bang up job, Thanks a lot. BB

    The Collinite was not applied correctly. It's a fantastic wax. If applied correctly, it's very easy on and off, and water beads off my car for a year plus. I learned about it from an old detailer more than two decades ago and have been using it ever since.

    Did you do a decon wash? Iron and tar massively mask the hydrophobic properties of a coating. Usually the properties come back after the panel has been decontaminated

    Gyeon Q2 Mohs only gave me about 3 months max when I applied it. That was after a decon, clay, & full correction. My 2 long distance runners are Sonax Polymer Netshield and Finish Kare 1000p (BWM 101). I get about 6 to 9 months durability on both in Northern NY. The PNS is good on all surfaces, although I wouldn't use on on the windshield (good on side glass though). The Finish Care you don't want to get on textured plastic, but it's excellent on the windshield. Excellent hydrophobicity, without any rainbow effects through the glass as I get with the PNS. My favorite all-time coating was Element 119, System-X from a decade ago. Got years out of it. Unbelievable sheeting action with no water spotting. There is a "new-er" version around but I've not tried it as they are a PITA to deal with nowadays and make you jump through hoops to purchase it.

      So funny to hear Mohs lasted 3 months... Did you apply one layer? If 2 layers were done, how much you waited between each layer? Mohs is one of the greatest ceramic coatings out there, Ive been installing it for 5 yesrs now and this man also proves it.

    As much as it's pimped on youtube, Armor Shield IX has to be part of the next test. I have it on two cars and it was simple to apply, went a long way, and seems to be holding up well for two garage queens.
    Maybe even try the Gloss It stuff that Vin Wiki was pimping b/c they did a detail on his McLaren? I have the Gloss It quick detailer and it was surprisingly good. Left a very noticeable difference on the slickness on the car surface when I subsequently washed the car.
    Thanks for doing these tests! Bueno!

    First and foremost thank you very much for taking the time to do this test! Time is money and you spent your own money to acquire the product. Thanks for taking the hit. I know you don’t offer the Ethos Graphine at your shop, do you have any thoughts on the Ethos ceramic wax pro or the Ethos Resist as a short term product? I’m older, grew up waxing the car with McGuires every spring and fall. I’ve been very interested in the synthetic waxes. Any thoughts or opinions appreciated. Thanks again for doing these tests!
