IMPORTANT: Computer USB ports have high Amps and will wear faster the battery. Better charge with 1 Amp wall USB charger. Never use use 2 Amp chargers. Do not connect to Blue USB ports on your laptop or computer - these have 2 Amp current. Never charge more than 1 hour.
These units do not record date or time
INSTRUCTIONS. When recording wait for the red light to stop flashing then start recording - while recording the light will stay off.
PLAYBACK:
1. If you only have files recorded with the device, press + to advance to next audio file, press - to move to previous audio file.
2. If you have both recorded files and downloaded audio files, device will play only either type press - to toggle between the two types of files, press + to advance to next audio file
Cannot fast forward or reverse during playback.
VOLUME
Keep pressed down 3 seconds either + or - to increase or reduce audio volume.
CHARGING
Old model shows red light flashing, new model shows red light steady. Fully charged shows blue light steady (about 30 min to fully recharge). Don't keep charging for more than 1 hour (battery wear). Use only 1 Amp charger, do not use blue computer ports (2 Amps will wear battery).
Update
New model available as of 2022 ua-cam.com/video/T0VHNYW3T5U/v-deo.html. It's very similar, slightly smaller and it records directly in MP3 format. The mic sensitivity is good from close distance, but from more far away (5m and more) the sound is more quiet than the older model shown in this video - so the newer model is less good for recording in a classroom.
This old model has a very bad habit : the power switch moves way too easily by itself from a light touch. I found the recorder several times with the switch ON and battery dead. I now put a tape over the switch when I'm not using it. The newer model (see my other videos) fixed this issue with a stiffer power switch.
People asked about recording time. I had the device recording by mistake and it recorded 2gb files of 24 hours 50 minutes long. It seems it stops recording after almost 25 hours non stop on a charge. Also, be careful because it's easy to move the recording button by mistake, maybe put a tape over the button so you don't activate by mistake when your are handling it (for example when you plug it to the computer) or when it's inside your pocket.

Yes, simply connect with the USB charging cable that is included. You can then transfer them. Files are located in the Record/Voice folder, WMA format. I have Windows 10 and it recognizes the recorder right away.

You didn't tackle the most important aspect and that is the voice recording quality. Why didn't you show us any sample?
I agree completely! This is sold mostly as a recorder, so please give details. You said you think maybe it records WMA files. What, what does it record FOR SURE? Can you tell us the bitrate, sampling frequency? Can these things be changed somehow, or is it fixed for life? What if someone talks pretty loud, will it become distorted? I was glad to find your review, it looks like a nice gadget, but sadly you gave few details. But thanks for taking the time so show this!

When I turned off the device and plugin for charging, There will be no light. When I turned it on and put put back in charging I can see steady blue light, does it mean its fully charged?

Be sure the unit is at Off while charging

If using a 1A power block is important, why isn't that stated front and center? I immediately plugged into a 3A power block and broke the frickin thing. 🤬

This unit does not have voice activating. Only physical switch on/off

It doesn't say on the instructions. But I've had it recording for 24h so the battery lasts long time

hello, i have had this recorder for a year now, it was working fine this whole time, until a couple days ago, i cannot playback the recordings, and my phone does not detect it with the otg cable anymore. when i plug in the earphones and turn it on the red light turns on then goes blue and then turns off all in like half a second. is there any way to fix this? when i connect it to my desktop it says driver not available now, it did not say that a few days ago. can you help? or is all i recorded lost.

Yes. connect with the cable to a Windows computer and transfer the files just like you transfer from an USB stick

These are precharged, but you may try charging it maybe 1 hour. Even when the battery is fully drained, it shouldn't need more than 3h charge. I recommend not leaving it charging overnight because this may damage the battery and sometimes even cause it to catch in fire - better not charge it nearby anything that can catch in fire, such as near the bed, etc. These are cheap products and the batteries can be faulty.
Do you know what to do if the drive doesn't show up?
When you switch it on, do you see a red light flashing for a few seconds between the + and - buttons ? If not, the battery is faulty - I recommend charging it every month, but don't leave it attached more than a few hours. Mine shows up automatically on Windows 10. Even when it's off. Try a different USB port perhaps and make sure the cable is fully inserted in the device.

I works perfectly in the audio listening mode with the headphones, only the flash drive functions doesn't seem to work.
I guess that my device is faulty, as the cable works with my phone.
