I've only ever done the Magic Ring method I learned from your Triceratops video. At first I was actually following it so carefully that I'm left-handed, but I was struggling to do it right-handed and then switching to the other hand after the ring was done. It took me 4 amigurumi projects to realise I can just mirror it directly smh...

I have watched about 30 different videos now trying to learn how to make a magic circle. Was starting to feel like my hands just weren't coordinated enough to crochet, but I did it thanks to you! You explain things in such a simple and slow way that it actually lets me try along with you instead of pausing and rewinding multiple times just for one step. You also just position your hands in a way that feels more open and shows me what you are doing, while slowly doing it. So glad I found your channel and look forward to learning more from you!

I know I'm late to the party, but this video is the best video I have ever found on the Magic Loop and Magic Ring. Thank you so much for your slow pace and easy to understand phrasing and word choice when explaining how to make it.

A magic loop is just a loose slip knot. One day I was doing all kinds of maneuvers to make a magic loop. Then I was looking at it for the longest time. It was then then that I realized it was just a very loose slip knot. Give it a try.

I was watching a UA-camr crocheting cherries and noticed that was how I started my slip knot. I rewound the video and saw how she completed the manoeuvre, grabbed my crochet hook and yarn and now I’m a pro. 😁 When the penny drops it’s a great feeling. 🧡

I have crocheted for over 30 years off and on. I never saw this stitch, which is odd, because I have made things that would have really looked more polished with this. I guess I made it. :)
I want to thank the video maker. I looked at two other tutorials and was beyond frustrated. This is a first with crocheting, but this time, it was better with a male teacher. Nice, and very patient. Two methods.

Explanations*, not, explanaitions*. I've had 2 strokes, but when I was in the workforce, I was a Verifier. There were 2 of us, to verify the spelling, & math of 25 women's forms that came through. About, 500-24 page forms an 8 hour shift. I thought when I had the 1st stroke, I wouldn't be able to spell. But, I spell as well, or better than before. And, we didn't have spellcheck back then, either. I can't let spelling mistakes go by me. I apologize to anyone who might not want to be corrected. I know, I'd be glad, & am, if I spell a person's name incrrectly.

Thank you so much for showing how to do both of these methods. I was trying to learn to crochet from amigurumi books and as you know, you generally start off with circular pieces for most projects and the Magic Ring (2nd method you showed?) is the method I saw being shown in books but was not as detailed. I kept getting stuck on why the tail wasn't tightening properly, so I really appreciate how clearly you showed how that worked!

I have watched at least a dozen videos trying to teach this. Yours was slow enough, concise, gave options, and FINALLY, after multiple videos, attempts, and 2 months of giving up and finally circling back to find your video I got it to work. A little bIt more practice and I will be making my first little star. I've done cloths, beanies, cowls, triangle scarfs, but the magic ring was throwing me for a loop. THANK YOU!!!

Thank you for sharing the second method. I've been doing this for days. Even though the second method you said is harder. For me I'm able to get the loop.
Now I just need to NOT cut off the circulation to my finger.
I've been getting so frustrated and watching video after video and asked for advice in groups. Today. Well I have almost conquered it. Thanks for the video and thanks for explaining every step and showing it quite slowly. It may be 2 years old. But people like me will definitely still find it useful. ❤

Omg! Lol how hard! I use to make and couldn't remember. Everyone on you tube loves making that x. I knew I never made an x. Like another person said its basically just a loose chain. Well sort of! I finally remembered with the help of another older woman. Just start like normal crochet. Then use your tail and make the circle to crochet in. No wrapping no x if you really want to know yell and ill get you the link to woman who does it same way.

yes. i use very simple loose loop just fold the yarn and create a ring no need crossing. Here in youtube, very complicated magic ring process that i can't follow 😅

You did the best job of explaining the magic ring that I have ever seen! Your instructions and demonstration are very clear! I’ve subscribed! I’m excited to see what else you can teach me! ❤
