Glad to hear you take a moment to talk about safety. Everyone thinks hydraulics are slow and that they'll have time to get out of the way. But a leaky cylinder is quiet and comes down with great force, so you don't know it's coming until it's too late. I have a relative who was killed working alone on his forklift, and now his baby daughter will grow up without her daddy. Hydraulics are serious business, so always, always, use a safety bar or chain.

My truck bed works sometimes and sometimes not. If I take my pocket knife and touch it to the solenoids the bed comes down, always have used this trick. But, it’s completely stopped now. Any suggestions please.
Just about all of those dump beds and tailgate lifts all them use regular starters as the motor 90% of the time they’ve got a hose clamp on them and get them tied to the actual starter themselves
I have same hoist on my 450, the pump just died and won’t raise. It came down fine but won’t raise. How can I lift the bed to replace the pump without removing the bed?
Mines was having the same problem so yesterday I went and bought a new fuse put it on and it started working ... this morning I go and check and it’s not working anymore... any idea on what it can be???
Go to the other end of the powerline on the pump and make sure it is tight make sure the pump also has a good ground there’s gonna be three little wires on (solenoid) or block on what looks to be a starter motor if it’s just clicking a lot of times the The little wires are bad or do not have a good connection but make sure that pump in the back has a good ground and a good hot wire going to it
Hi Donnie. i have a chevy 3500 i believe and it has the electric pump lift similar to yours.I just put a new pump unit on it and it lifts it up but when you stop it slowly lowers.Kind of like the cylinder might be letting fluid pass by or basically not holding pressure.Just wondering if you had an idea.Thanks and great video.Glad it was an easy fix
If you put the pump assembly on it I assume it come with new solenoids so it would probably be the cylinder bypassing You could try to make sure if it’s gravity down that you didn’t have a wire putting low-voltage to the solenoid for the down side
@@mybrotherdonnie Hi Donnie.Its power down also,just has the up and down button and you have to use both when lifting or lowering.I believe your right,the cylinder isn't holding.When you get it raised say half way up and you stop you can actually watch it slowly come back down.Thanks for the help i greatly appreciate it.
Brightview, Me and someone else control all their fleets In the Bay Area and All around. 5 Branchea in Total, not to mention they fired me after they bought the company I was working for.
Good company but not the best management, Branch manager yelled In my face told me "To do my job right or start looking for a new job" Theres a reason why my fleet of 15 groups over 40 vehicles of all medium duty trucks wood chippers and a bunch of equipment was running for the last 5 years I was there with my one mechanic. I did my job right but sometimes short people feel the need to talk to people stupid.
Bro am having same issue but I have full power pressure I installed a new pump thinking it was bad the system goes up but it won’t come down it’s sounds like there’s something inside the piston wont let it come down

on my ddump trailer seems to over extend and when i call it to lower it doesnt when i leave the driveway the back will slide on the cement then i can lower it seems to get wedged out idk why
Some of them do not have power down so if the backside of the trailer is waited heavier than the front it will not come down so say you back down a hill and dump it makes it a lot harder for it to come down because it’s just gravity pulling it down and pushing the fluid out of the cylinder if you don’t hear it whining you got a gravity down system

I try to be extremely cautious around that kind of stuff knowing that you do not have no control over it

When you say you put a screwdriver and jumped across the two terminals to get bed down? 4:31
Can you explain how you did that?
Jump across the terminal use the metal screwdriver handle as the fuse

Check and see if you get power back there
My transit tipper is going up but not down we’re can I find the solenoid to try this to get it down
Solenoid is usually strapped on the top of the starter

Take both of the hoses off and pull it up

There’s a little Pressure release that does not have power on it
I need your help brother my dump just go’s up but not down I press the button it go’s down but then goes up again but it self what can I do any idea
You’ve got power on the up solenoid you need to look and see where the powers coming from it’s probably your button

Absolutely use the safety stop every time, and wedge 6x6 wood blocks on each side please.. just had a bed blow a line, and it was in the air. Not fun.
