Update 10 months later lol, so the issue on why my car wasn't reading the speed because the tone ring on the axle and sensor is what determines the speed and send the signal to the cluster so mine was grinded down just like in this video so what i did was replace the axles and cleaned up where the axles goes and took out the liner that goes around it and my issue was solved. Thanks again for making the video and really helped me with fixing my car because i was unsure if it was the axles or speed sensors on the transmission but thanks
So I have a similar problem because my 2002 is300 won’t mark speed but I’ve changed speed sensors to new ones and a new cluster it reads the rpms, gas mileage, and temperature everything else like how many miles and how fast I’m going doesn’t work and I took a picture inside the speed sensor and looks like something grinder against the tone ring and damaged it would I have to do something similar to what you are doing and replace the tone ring to get the speed working or no ?
So you have to remove the hub and wheel bearing to punch that stainless liner out? There's no way to get it out from the inside without removing the hub and bearing?
Updating on this. I just did the passenger side. It is possible to remove the stainless liner from the inside with relative ease. It's especially easy if you cut all the way through it with a rotary tool cutting disc and/or carving bit. Just takes some prying with a small pry bar or screw driver from there.
They’re not available anymore they came with the car. They were bought a long time ago and they fit like crap so they’re not worth anything anyway sorry thanks for watching.

It Could very well be that more than anything it’ll make the ABS and vehicle speed light come on also
You install new deflecter? Or you didint instal any ?

You can try. Ours had bad hub bearings anyway . Leave a follow up if you can. Thanks for sharing
