Amazing video Man! Looks like some challenging sections along the way. Smart call to hotel it when needed. It was cool to see the inside of the lookout towers. Hope you are doing better after the drop due to the flat rear tire. Great video!!!!
Thanks. I understand that. Unfortunately on this route you’ll be under the trees the whole time sticking to the main route. The views were only on the alt sections.
Some amazing views! Not sure why people still insist on spending big bucks on ADV bikes when the DR does it all at a fraction of the price. Nice riding and thanks a ton for taking us along. -28° out right now so waiting patiently for the white stuff to disappear. Have a great week! *T4S*
Thanks. It's tempting to go with something more powerful that I could jump the water bars and drainage dips, instead of slamming the brakes every time and rolling over them. However, the cost and reliability keeps me on the DR.
Yikes! I know the videos don't do the rides justice in showing the changes of elevation but I could still feel it! Whew! The steep down hills into hairpin turns always causes a pucker. Thanks for sharing your adventure!
Nice job. I did sections 3-4 last fall and stopped at Downyville. I rode. KLX300 witch I think is a great size for the CA BDR. I had a DR650, but was worried about the weight should I lay it down. Anyway, I'll be posting up videos on my UA-cam channel this spring of the rest of the BDR. Just threw you a sub! Looking forward to more videos.
Ribs in CO, ligaments in CA! Hope your mending. The DR is still killing it despite all the “new” techno stuff being sold. The official BDR films don’t seem to capture the ruggedness.
Right! I'm grateful to the BDR organization, but I gotta say I'm quite disappointed in their video of this route. They skipped camping totally, and they were clearly working around their electric motorcycle sponsor. They made incredibly short sections, and were always talking about charging their bike. They can't camp with an electric bike because they have to charge it overnight. They also ride quite dangerously, always so close to each other trying to get good video and pictures. Also, I see you've been on the WR a lot? Are you not using the DR anymore?
I laughed out loud watching you try and stay atop of that bike. Good switching between rider and trail shot so we could get idea what the trail imparts to rider.
I put in Cogent drop in damper cartridges and stiffer springs before this trip, which dramatically improve the handling. I also have a stiffer spring in the rear to match the weight of the added gear.

Thanks. Yeah the plan was to camp every night.
@ Understand that! The Mighty DR650 seemed to do well also!
It did. I had a brand new battery but the bike still didn’t like the really cold morning starts.
@@JMotoAdventures Yeah, they are cold natured. Even though I rejetted and put a Yoshimura pipe on it, mine is the same. 😂😂😂
William!
Quite a testament to your skill and the mighty DR650.
Thanks. It’s done quite well.
Wow that was a great ride thanks for taking us along. Be safe.
Thank you
Thanks for the very informative video! No thanks to alt sections for this old boy!

Right! Thanks
Excellent video quality....I could actually get a feel for the steepness and ruggedness of the terrain.
Thats good to hear. Its hard to show that from a gopro.
Super awesome! Would love to explore a few of these sections someday...
Thanks. There are a lot of places to explore.
Nice video man, good stuff! 🤜🤛
Thanks!
nice job.💪
Thank you

Thank you, and thanks for the sub. When loaded down with camp gear it does become quite heavy.
Awesome
Right!
Wow! Looks intense and fun!

Great video! Pretty intense!

Right! The helmet mount doesn't quite show how rough some of the terrain is.
Stock suspension?

@ Kind of surprising. Looked like you were getting bucked and thrown in this one. Anyway, thanks again for taking us with you. I appreciate it.
Yeah the camera pointing back really shows how rough some sections can be. If it were just pointing forward you'd probably think it was smooth.
What tent brand and model do you have ?
I can't believe that I remember this and didn't have to go look. It's REI co-op passage 2.
