Lever the arm over the object or fist well remaining as relaxed as possible key point! Tight things don't meve freely back in to place and alow the dislocation to reset 2 major tips are to relax as much as possible do not rush this painful procedure and take your time deeper the object "buddies fist" the better but don't move it it's a lever keep it still and firm tell everything pops back in to place
Excellent bike choice :) We rode through the prairies a few years ago on our DR650 trip across Canada and we were pleasantly surprised, the prairies hold it's own kind of beauty. We're in Ontario. Good on you for giving something new a try and just going for it! Gorgeous views. This video was very enjoyable to watch and well put together. Ride safe out there.
@@rangeroadmoto It was the best time of our life :) We tried to capture some of it in our videos then, but it doesn't portray our full feeling of it. It was an amazing experience to let go of everything and just take off. We woke up one morning, and just decided to go, we were packed and left at 5:00pm that evening. We originally wanted to do the TCAT, but due to time constraints, we stuck to mostly highway. In Manitoba and Alberta we did a bit of off road exploring along the way. Once we got to Kelowna BC, we explored a bit more there. If we ever get to go on a bike trip like that again, we would only wish for more time.
Really well done video. I bought a DR650 after buying an older R1200GSA and love it. Not as light as the KTMs but capable, reliable and about 200 lbs less than the GSA. Fantastic bike to ride gravel all day. Pumper carb has really woke mine up.

Well you basically branch off into teams in a giant area, so you really only end up riding with your buddies and occasionally you might see other riders here and there but not much
@@rangeroadmoto I recently passed my M license. I was leaning towards a KTM as I passed on that bike. You helped me figure out why I want to ride. Its not to have a bike chick's want to ride on the back. Its for me to have fun on trails and be fall in love with being involved with the maintenance of my bike.
(long rant) I've road (and owned) a LOT of 'big superbikes'...V-Max, Hayabusa...and a few 'KX' and 'XR' style off-road bikes (probably 70-30 on mileage mix...but assuredly hundreds of thousands of miles over my 60+ years of walking around)...and from my own experience, ONE THING not only delayed the development of 'Enduro' or 'Dual Use' bikes...and that is the SINGLE-FOCUS guys who are determined to take any bike they get, and turn it into a 'KTM SX-450' dirt bike, and bash ANYONE who dares consider 'any other brand or style' (hey dude, you can fit knobbies on that Hayabusa, if you just take the fenders off, add this suspension, ditch a few hundred pounds, and take all those blinkers off!) You know the kind...and sad to say, a lot of them visit every-single-website, just to convince everyone to 'forget this, and head over to KTM's website'. A recent effort on my old, aching bones, was to buy back into bikes (I sold my last GS1100GL a while back...and have been 'bikeless' for some time now)...I convinced myself I was old, now I forget how good 'young' feels...and want it back. My idea, go out and buy into a nice 'Dual Sport'...something in the 600-700-cc range. I always liked Suzuki, so I figure...hey, hit their mfg website, see what models are new (money isn't really an object when you are old...the hell with building your own!)...and I see the DR-650...got classic lines, looks like it is set-up good...go on youtube and try to find some videos...AND EVERY 20-year old USED-BIKE 20-something WRENCH MONKEY is talking about how horrible this bike is, unless you are ready to strip it down to the last bolt, and rebuild it. NOT WHAT I AM LOOKING FOR. I CANNOT FIND A POSITIVE REVIEW of the DR-650 on the Internet (that isn't reimbursed somehow)! So...I go on 'bike magazine' sites and do the same...same deal. I'm like, 'ok...bad bike' (it happens, but normally to a known bike company where they've built the SAME MODEL for 30 years, but whatever). So, curiosity leads me over to KTM's site...not a name I am that familiar with...but their model lineup is NOT what I am looking for. I am NOT looking for a chainsaw (sorry...never was into 2-strokes), I need street-legal (without having to go to Tractor Supply to buy blinkers to 'self-install'). PEOPLE...I WANT A BIKE I CAN DRIVE 1-hour down I-40 on, hit the state road, take some TRAILS (not raw terrain that would scare the Rubicon guys), and be able to return without the bike being in shambles on return! I don't want to trailer the bike. I don't want to treat this like an ill-tempered horse, I don't want to have to contemplate hearing protection when I return (my same gripe about Harley morons and straight pipes...85-decibels at 50-ft, people!) I WANT A TRUE ENDURO...(for those of you old enough, what I'm saying is I want a Honda XL250...scaled up to 600-700-cc's! Now, there ARE (contrary to your opinion) people, a lot of people out there that will pay money for such a bike! THERE IS A MARKET! I want this to be designed and built like my 1-ton Chevy Silverado...I DON'T WANT TO TURN WRENCHES ON IT! I want to add gas, check oil and tire pressures, pack a bag, and go...I'm GOING FOR THE ADVENTURE, the SCENERY...not to see if I can rebuild a 4-valve engine with a pinecone in the middle of a hurricane at 12,000-ft elevation while being attacked by hungry grizzly bears. compounding this issue, is you often hear 'if I could only afford the KTM I'd ditch xxxxx bike I own now, and buy it'...so you're saying you are shifting a market, and you can't afford toilet paper? Nice...there are trolls, and then there are fools like this! After OVER A WEEK of searching, I found the bike I am getting...a Kawasaki KLR-650...NEW! (Imagine that)...in fact, my wife wants one too...so it will be a 2-bike purchase...that grease monkeys almost ran me away from, while giving NO INFORMATION on 'what is the best bike in this class' or 'comparing this model to that model, which one is generally overall better?' Hate to break it to you, but the 'wrench trolls without money' are UTTERLY DESTROYING the idea of 'riding a motorcycle', and I don't know if it is because of shows like 'Orange County Choppers' or peer tech-talk, or just dealer brainwashing...but it's got to stop! LISTEN to the questions posed, before you add your comments! If someone says 'what's the best superbike out there'...I have owned, and a lot of experience with not only Hayabusa, but the V-Max, a couple of Indians (even considered buying the Indian FTR Rally, just because of their quality...but for a 'Dual Sport', I really didn't want 1200-cc's off road, and the frames are a bit too small for me at 6'5" to be trying to 'knee-hug' a bend or hill on one...off-road. The $13,000 pricetag wasn't an issue, though...and if you aren't standing in my shoes...then explain your understanding of the bike you are commenting on, and UNCHANGED, recommend other similar models!). When someone asks...'what is the best bike?' You REALLY have to treat this like a 'what is the best wife' type of question. Mine is pretty (gorgeous when we married, 35-years ago)...so, if someone asked me such a question, my reply would be 'one that is smart, true-and-faithful, someone who is your best friend, most-annoying friend at times, someone who wants to understand you, and isn't afraid of what they find once that question is answered, and has many similarities with you...notice, I didn't sideline this with 'as soon as you brainwash her', or 'like cars, trade them in every 5-years to keep maximum value'...or 'ONLY THIS KIND is worth considering...' I mean, for a kid, I'd probably say it out loud, 'you don't want one that will cheat on you, or be irresponsible with money'...ok, great, got it...common sense, and not demeaning... From my own 50-years of riding a bike...yes, it is like a woman, girlfriend, wife...and fits what my old man told me decades ago, 'when you think you've chosen your wife...ask yourself one thing, would you love her and want her JUST AS MUCH, if you couldn't manage to change ONE SINGLE THING about her for the rest of your life? If the answer is 'YES", then you've got a plan... STOP SHADETREE REDESIGNING BIKES...most over 25 that want a 'commuter' or 'weekend mild plaything' don't want to spend their 10-hours a week for recreation, spent in their garage FIXING JUNK! In the process of trying to turn every other bike into a KTM Supercross model, you are SCARING AWAY OTHERS...and NOTHING kills a sport for YOU, than scaring others away from entering it! Sorry...this was a great video...that just drew that rant out, because there are SO FEW out there that understand what I've said...and OEM's are CONSTANTLY CHASING DESIGN INPUT from 'common user input', that leads to BAD BIKES (like a market for all these KTM 2-cycles..that doesn't exist beyond select niches)...I remember 1984...remember it well...and you'd see a Honda XL250 a dozen times a day on the roads...going somewhere, going offroad, through trails...and being as you just don't see that anymore, you need to stop and ask why. The answer is simple...THERE AREN'T ENOUGH OEMs BUILDING THEM ANYMORE! (but a lot of used KTMs for sale, because everyone 'jumped in because of the reviews', only to find all the 'hidden issues' with them, after they owned them and couldn't afford living day-to-day, and maintaining one...let alone using it!) Big thumbs up on the video, though!
You are a keyboard master! To condense it down you’re saying that the endless search for the best most hardcore bike is hurting the dualsport world as a whole?
Are the geocaches still there for people to use year round?! I Just saw your post on reddit and I would love to do a couple of these before the season ends! Greetings from YEG
Unfortunately I don’t think so. The way the app worked was it didn’t allow you to access the waypoints until the morning of the race and then it shut off at 5pm. But there is so much good riding in Invermere that you won’t be disappointed if you go
Super fun event! And yeah the clutch was toast. Realized it when I was really struggling to climb hills, then on the ride back to camp on the highway if I pinned it it wouldn’t go anywhere, clutch wouldn’t grab. I think all new clutch disks cost about $200 from suzuki and took about an hour for me to change em.

Great production man! Awesome event concept. Also, Trent is a dude! Infectious. Brb, I gotta go riding.
Trent is definitely a dude! Haha I wanna go riding too
I have to get outside in the sunshine, before I sit here and binge-watch your vids :)
The camera work and cinematography on this is amazing
Thanks so much!
Havent rode in years and just got inspired. Kentucky has a few places for dual sports and I just got a klx300. Keep up the good biking!
That’s the best thing I could hear! Get out there and ride that KLX! They look like cool bikes
Awesome bike choice
Awesome video! Just got my chunky KLR650 would love to be part of this. Looks like a ton of fun. Don’t think we have anything as organized as this down in Florida.
Hey just a tip with that dislocation you must raise it above your head
How can this not be viral with 2M views?!?
So amazing, I need to join you next time you do one of these!
Yeah you do! It’s not too far from you
Thank's from Norway!
🙂
You’re very welcome! My people are from Norway, hope to visit one day
You lucky sons of guns!! Wish I could access country like that.
Beautifully done. Outstanding content.
Hey thanks so much for the kind words!
THIS is AWESOME! I wish I had areas like this to travel. Unfortunately I have to travel at least a hour or two to get some good trails. Have a great time!!
It is so awesome! This is about five hours from my house but definitely worth a weekend trip there
@@rangeroadmoto very cool! It's about 4 days away for me (Ontario) 🤣
Wow! What an awesome video! You deserve so many more subscribers.
Hey thanks man! Glad you enjoyed
Wonderful video! Thank you
I having been wanting a dual sport and this just makes me want one that much more! Loving this event I will be researching this especially since it’s friendly with new and experienced riders to the dual sport! I will be subscribing looking forward to more adventures you take
Thank you! You should definitely get one, I’ve found the community to be awesome and very friendly.
Wow! This was so much more than I expected.... Congrats dude!! How amazing..
Hey thanks man! It was a blast to ride
@@rangeroadmoto I only got my first bike ever, a cheap 250 cc dirtbike, and now im ready to get a dual sport and see what the world has to offer.
this sounds like good times with cool people
Great video. I do lots of riding by Turner Valley McLean creek area
Hey thanks!
Great video. Looks a fantastic challenge/adventure
Thank you! And it definitely was
What a great video!! We need to plan a ride in the East Kootenay’s. I live in the Elk Valley and would love take you Guys on a tour.
Oh that’s sounds like a blast!
Awesome video and idea
Great video. That looks like so much fun and in my backyard :))
Well if that’s your backyard consider me jealous.
Wow! What a greatly edited video about a wonderful concept. My wheels are spinning on how to make this happen.
Thanks for watching! It’s a super fun event
Outstanding
Thanks so much!
Great video That ride/event/app looks like a blast, gonna have to take my DR up to Canada im thinking. Would love to have or help setup something like this down here in Colorado.
Maybe we could be foreign exchange students. I go down and ride Colorado for a bit and you come ride Canada.
I do believe this app will eventually be available for people to make their own events using the app
@@rangeroadmoto hey who knows after this covid stuff that may work. Just have to talk the wife into it hehe
Another awesome video.. love this.
Dude thanks so much! I love your stuff too man
man I am hooked with all your videos!
Man thanks so much! We got some new content coming pretty soon here!
top stuff man, well done 👍👍👍
Thanks so much !
This is Brilliant! Sign me up.
Man that cinematography was good
Thanks Potato!
I'm trying to get better,I'm still scared of going down, done it already and it happens so quick. But I won't give up,I want to keep at this.
You got this! Just don’t forget to wear gear, especially boots and if you can find people to ride with that have more experience that is massively helpful! Have fun!
More great content!!
10:02 Wrong direction for a dislocation. Bend forward at the waist and pick up or try to lift something heavy. Sideways isn’t the way... Ouch!
Such a great video. Post these on Vimeo. Great work!
Man thanks so much!
Laughs in flattest county in Ontario, I wish I had the rolling terrain of the prairies lol
Hahah That’s pretty funny. Where in Ontario is flatter than alberta?
@@rangeroadmoto Essex county, largest hill within an hour is an overpass lol
I think the largest elevation change is like 3m by the lake
Sure looks like a tough first ride. Good on you I vote yay. Toto-this ain't the prairie.
I want to do this event! I wish there was one in Atlantic Canada.
An east coast version would be awesome !
Cruising your channel because I'm about to buy a DR 650 because I want to get into dual sport
Awesome bike to try it out with!
Are you familiar with the alberta dual sport forum? Its a great group and they often do events and have weekend trail rides around Edmonton, rmh, ext.
Yeah! I have met some people from there! I still haven’t gone on any rides with them yet though. I really need to soon
If you hit any good 3's near Calgary, please post a video!
Honestly just head to Invermere! Endless riding there. Head towards the ski hill, it instead of turning into the ski hill keep going straight. Most of the video was filmed in that area. Endless trails
@@rangeroadmoto I'll definitely have to check Invermere out! If you're ever in the Calgary area, there are day trips close by . . . down in the McLean Creek area past Millarville, and up in the Ghost Recreation area past Cochrane . . . There are probably many other areas, but those are the only ones I'm familiar with so far!
Hey that’s awesome to know! Thanks
Nicely filmed. Really enjoyed it 👍
Thanks for watching !
Yo I’ve seen two videos and I gotta say QUALITY…whys is your channel small that a subscription from me 👌🏽
Hey thanks man! I’m working on more content as we speak!
Wow this is fantastic! Great filming and what a cool event. Do you know if something like this is offered in Washington State? I'd love to do something like this more local to me.
Thanks so much!
I’m really not too sure, hopefully if someone reads this who knows they can let you know.
Another really great place for information is Reddit, specifically the dualsport subreddit
Hi there. This is Trent (organizer of the event). We've been chatting with some folks in Washington. Stay tuned.
Central alberta aye? I ride in northern Alberta and we have a great variety of terrain. Often muskeg to contend with tho.
I’ve ridden in the wood Buffalo quite a few times. Actually just did some filming on the sand roads north of Fort Mc.Murray
Hey Range Road, great Video. I'm from Lethbridge, where did you guys go in BC.
That’s in the Invermere area. Lots to ride around there
@@rangeroadmoto Thanks Moto. Thats really not that far from me. Good luck and have fun.
Yeah that’s really close! Definitely worth the ride/drive
Sweet video documentary
Thanks for watching!
I want to go !
Well i say that, but really like to ride with only a couple of other riders, not a whole passel of riders.
Well you basically branch off into teams in a giant area, so you really only end up riding with your buddies and occasionally you might see other riders here and there but not much
Id love to do this! Hoping to get a bike soon :)))
You should! It’s a blast
🍁Thank you! 🇨🇦
You’re welcome! Don’t know what i did but you’re welcome. 🇨🇦
That looks awesome!
So much fun! If you get the chance I would highly recommend it
Замечательные виды, классная команда! Надеюсь, ваш друг быстро поправился и вернулся в строй 👋
Thank you! He is all better now!
(Imagine that)...in fact, my wife wants one too...so it will be a 2-bike purchase...that grease monkeys almost ran me away from, while giving NO INFORMATION on 'what is the best bike in this class' or 'comparing this model to that model, which one is generally overall better?'
Hate to break it to you, but the 'wrench trolls without money' are UTTERLY DESTROYING the idea of 'riding a motorcycle', and I don't know if it is because of shows like 'Orange County Choppers' or peer tech-talk, or just dealer brainwashing...but it's got to stop!
(but a lot of used KTMs for sale, because everyone 'jumped in because of the reviews', only to find all the 'hidden issues' with them, after they owned them and couldn't afford living day-to-day, and maintaining one...let alone using it!)
Big thumbs up on the video, though!
But there is so much good riding in Invermere that you won’t be disappointed if you go
Cool.. keep mods going and have a great bike without getting a KTM
Definitely will 👍
Awesome video!!!!!!!
Thanks Travis!
Thank you 🌎
You are very welcome!
What bike would you take ?
Good stuff!
Thank you!
I have to get out and do this before its not allowed anymore.
Yes! Definitely should
Great content
Thank you!
Damg this event looks epic was the clutch really burnt out? At what point did you realize?
Super fun event! And yeah the clutch was toast. Realized it when I was really struggling to climb hills, then on the ride back to camp on the highway if I pinned it it wouldn’t go anywhere, clutch wouldn’t grab.
I think all new clutch disks cost about $200 from suzuki and took about an hour for me to change em.
This is why we ride
That’s right!
