Inno is playing with 30000 level IQ.. Plays his whole Starcraft career to become known as a Macro Machine. Then people will literally never expect him to play with cheese or aggressiveness.
Maru did the opposite. He caused Ragnarok to drone scout some games because people expect him to proxy all the time. These pros are taking advantage of their own archetypes.

They're always there to talk up their game, that's fine, but jesus christ does it get annoying to hear how much better SC2 is then every other game. Maybe other casters do it and I just don't see it, long time watcher and player of League, CS:GO. They also don't even bother to view vods before they make a judgment call and you can't talk to em' cause they likely won't see your tweet or messages. (Which is normal, ya' can't respond to everything.) So realistically its like. Maru, Dark for me.

I guess it's kinda nice to see casters that aren't afraid to show some personality and go outside of just being professional and talking about the game all the time. Sure, sometimes I don't agree with their takes on everything, but there's a reason why I don't watch any other sport, they just make thing so much more enjoyable to watch.

Zest is perhaps the best Protoss these days when it comes to standard play. However his ability to read the match and adapt to unorthodox strategies is sorely lacking and is usually what takes him out of tournaments in earlier stages than he should get out in. Though I agree that none of the other top Protoss players are particularly shining right now. The top 3 are probably Zest, Stats and Trap though Parting is right up there as well and Deer not far off at all. Still when it comes to the absolute best it's really hard to say. I'm inclined to go with Trap as the Protoss with the most complete package but it's really a toss up.
@@ak47tetris84 My biggest issue with naming Zest #1 is his inconsistency. At times he's indeed the best in the world, at other times however he's trash tier for his level. In order to truly be #1 you have to be consistent, and both Stats and Trap are way more consistent than Zest ever was. So sure, at his best Zest is right up there, however when not at his best he's significantly below the others that I'm just not comfortable putting him at #1.
I don't understand how Ragnarok doesn't make infestors, corruptors, and brood lords. This is how Serral deals with Terran. He's Ultras just kept getting mowed down.

Man maru vs inno game 1 was nuts. They always say when Maru is behind he is actually equal, when he is equal he is actually ahead and when he is ahead he is so far ahead you are never gonna win. He was definitely ahead against inno here, but inno pulled it off quite convincingly.

Pretty sure he wasn't really trying much in that match. He said it himself in the interview that he wanted to come in second so he wouldn't have to face his teammate
@@peterchui1964 he was trying to avoid playing against trap dude. you should check the super tournament this year and see how maru convincingly defeated innovation. plus, it is likely he will face innovation again in the finals (assuming he beats Trap in his best matchup PvT) so it is best to save his builds as TvT is heavily relies on build order advantages

Dude, have you seen maru kill 19 workers then let opponent catch up? i think he might have gone easy that game. Watch the ST S1 games between them, every time maru killed some workers early he smashed it mid game
regarding the discussion about not having any time to do anything else during the game in SC2, in total war:warhammer battle it's the same thing. Dont know why that game isn't more popular in pro scene
...I know hydras aren't the meta. But if terran is just gonna pick up and leave with their medivacs like that, I think the zerg is obligated to threaten them to some extent. I think zergs should mix in a few corrupters or hydralisks to the ling ban comp. Or ya know, mutas. That can work too.
Hydras and corruptors can't keep up with the medivacs as easily, and they can't punish as hard. It would still work, just not as consistently as the faster mutas. Also mutas synergize well with banes, because the glaives can kill everything at low hp that barely survived a bane hit very quickly, and if marines are killed or put into medivacs, nothing fires back at them, and mutas have free reign over the medivacs.
If Maru came first, he had to face in the round of 8 his teammate, Trap. He dodged that. Although I think innovation is really good, maru had such an advantage in the first game it is really suspicious.That being said, Innovation is one of the players that can beat Maru for sure.

(Its possible im remembering wrong and some weren't in GSL, but still the strategy isn't as good as it once was). Talk to the Middle Finger He used to proxy a lot when he was winning everything and started to not meet expectations when players started to get used to his proxies. So I think he is just mixing up his game more so that the players will not automatically assume that maru is proxying every game. His proxies will be more of a threat when they least expect it.

@@stevey7997 one needs to be a toss to compare mines to banes. mines must have an armed state separated from burrow to come close to banelings, because even if mines were given the ability to attack while moving, they still would not compare equal with banes as banes attack buildings. and there's no such thing as a better race in SC2. but there are cheesy banes.

@@stevey7997 one needs to be a toss to compare mines to banes. mines must have an armed state separated from burrow to come close to banelings, because even if mines were given the ability to attack while moving, they still would not compare equal with banes as banes attack buildings. and there's no such thing as a better race in SC2. but there are cheesy banes.
