Hope you have enjoyed the first week of Legends Arceus!
I'd also like to amend some thoughts about the battle system from the video, I think it's fine in the context of Legends Arceus but....shouldn't be used anywhere near a competitive format lol. Figured I'd make that point a little clearer.

For me it's currently up there as one of the best MODERN (3DS Era and newer) Pokémon games, if by default due to the generally low bar of quality. Being a completely different type of Pokémon main series game gives it many new strengths and flaws. The game is overall refreshing compared to the repetition of main series games but isn't better by those means.
Coming rom the same man responsible for Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon Cutscenes, it stands to reason that the beginning of the game is riddled with the same tutorials, pacing, and constant cutscenes issues.
So far (haven't completed main story) the game feels quite barebones in terms of overall content and due to its priority switching from battling players and exploring to catching and fighting Pokémon and exploring, it becomes a preference in what type of game you prefer and enjoy. As I enjoy battling more, I won't expect to play this much on repeat or LGPE due to its learning curve in its catching mechanics.
With regards to the new battle mechanics, Wolfe Glick's channel WolfeyVGC does a greta job at explaining why the current change from simultaneous turns to sequential turns makes 1v1 and 2v2 battles fundamentally broken in Legends Arceus and why PvP is disabled. I'd argue there would need to be SUBSTANTIAL changes to how turns, speed, and styles work to properly fix the game so battles become much better. This system for battling works with how the wild Pokémon AI works here as well as with how few Pokémon trainers in game have, so future Legends games of these kinds can make this fighting format work as long as PvP is disabled or major improvements are made.
Also for other good critiques of this game that label flaws in a good manner check out Moist Critical (penguinz0) and Gireum Red.

Playing Legends Arceus right now hopefully they let us catch Arceus since they didn't in the original since they thought it would've been confusing to find which didn't make sense my best guess is they didn't think no one would ever think of going back to spear pillar.🤔🤔

The Thing That You Guys Don’t Know is that Pokémon Games HAVE ALWAYS BEEN SLOW Until The End Of The Games After The Antagonists REVEALS Their True Motives, The Story Starts Of SLOWLY, But it Becomes Faster as it Progresses at The End After The Antagonists REVEALS Their True Motives.

For me, it’s definitely up there. Not one of those “new bad old good” people but I have had a lot of issues with every other mainline game since the jump to the Switch. Spent the weekend playing and this is the most fun I’ve had on the Switch besides Smash Ultimate. I love sidequests and Pokémon has always lacked in that department so this was fun for me. Is it the best 3D game? I’d say these or the Alola games are the best. Definitely hope most of this game will be featured in Gen 9

They can bring back Hisuian Growlithe and Arcanine through Ancient Power like Mamoswine.
Breed Ancient Power onto a Growlithe it hatches as its Hisuian form then use a fire stone as normal to evolve it.
Ancient Power is the perfect way to bring back all these Hisuian forms that are extinct in the modern day.

I like all of these ideas. Personally, I also love Time-Space Distortions. It was how you got Pokémon like Scizor, Porygon, and Magnemite into the past *and* how you got fossil Pokémon into the future. And just by itself, they're super chaotic, terrifying, and fun.
If the Distortions can exist in future games, you can find items like Black Augurite or a Peat Block in them, or even find Hisuian/other ancient region variant Pokémon. Or how you get an Ice Pokémon earlier in the game instead of having to wait until near the end of the game.
Just have to find an in-game reason for why distortions are occurring in the first place. I think that's fairly simple though: if the Distortions in PLA pulled future Pokémon into the past, the exact same Distortion can also pull them from the *past* into the _future_ while the future Pokémon are displaced.

It's clear to me that this has all been a build-up since Gen 7. It introduced full-body character models, ride Pokemon (which returned here, Gen 8 had the bike), trials where you face a big boss Pokemon (later became alphas & nobels), trial captains (similar to wardens who each associate with a strong Pokemon) and of course, regional forms which have become super important to not inflating the Pokedex. Gen 7 might not have been perfect, but to see it's ideas fully realised to in a bigger way makes me happy. I REALLY hope Gen 9 takes from Legends Arceus in the way the world works even with how you can be rewarded for alternative Pokemon catching methods. The wild area looks and feels pathetic now.

The way the world looks is an artistic style that has been a choice because not everything has to look ultra-realistic with ultra realistic details. However I feel that a bigger problem is that the nearby trees and shadows go off when you don't look at them, which is strange and breaks a little immersion. But PLA is not ugly. On the contrary, I have found PLA's style mostly cozy, calm, harmonious, serene and magical which would not be possible if the overworld style of the game was ultra-realistic.

This games makes catching Pokémon fun (it's not arbitrarily long, but it can be difficult in a good way.)
Also they removed certain battle features to make the battles FAST pace even tho it's turn based and the agile/strong mechanic is awesome,
it's strategical without being overdone. I literally DON'T want to play old Pokémon games anymore, this feels like the only route to play now.

Unironically, if they never bought abilities back, I'd be perfectly okay with that. I love the battle system, it's like a (much) easier version of the Press Turn system from SMT.
My main issue is the population density after the first area. That coupled with the series staple of including mostly evolutions of older mons, which is a bad combo.

In my opinion, the Legends Arceus game's biggest strengths was its restrictions, because since they cannot rely on technology or relying on the formula as a story tool to be lazy, they have to make new mechanics and concepts which fit with the time period, such as the crafting mechanics or the concept of survival, which provides actual stakes and therefore enjoyment. Like I enjoy that I can get absolutely bodied even at such a high level, which makes me actually pay attention and fight properly instead of how it goes in the main series games where I can just spam stab moves once I reach over level 30.

I appreciate the video, but I disagree with you on a few points.
    1) I think the ride Pokémon spacing was appropriate. Keeping the player slow in the beginning encourages them to move cautiously and take in their surroundings, and placing obstacles in the over world forced us to take routes that we wouldn’t have considered if we had the ride pokemon already. I had a lot of fun re exploring areas of precious maps that were recontectualized once I got each new ride Pokémon, and this was only possible bc they were spaced out.
    2) A lack of a minimap kept me more immersed in my surroundings. I turn the minimap off in breath of the wild bc it’s a distraction and it makes my experience a lot better. If there was a minimap I think there’d be a lot more focus on the destination than the journey, and I prefer the game how it is.
Overall I loved this game, the core gameplay loop was the most fun I’ve had in Pokémon in ages

9:55 I really hope they change the battle system back due to Pokémon losing it's simultaneity. You go into your turn knowing you will act right then and knowing what the opponent did, eliminating the prediction that used to exist. Not to mention the current speed management system feels bad to play with. You can move, knowing your opponent will act once, and then suddenly get attacked twice in a row. It just isn't as deep as the old system and is a lot more frustraiting.
12:05 they do. I have watched them. They at least try and cover it up a bit with having their legs shift, but it still happens.
12:25 yes! We don't need ANOTHER charizard.
Though my biggest concern is that they brought back fog. That weather needs to die in a fire.

i don't quite like the changes they did to the battle system. the lack of abilities and hold items, no AOE attacks despite having the ability for multiple Pokémon to join in the battle against you, it just makes the game feel unbalanced, and some what generic, also strong and agility styles feel inconsequential and tacked on for the sake of a gimmick, id take megas, Z moves and yes even Dynamax, over it .

The best battle system changes were always minor or "background". Double battles, special/physical split, and now styles. From a design perspective, they're relatively simple (double battles are basically what if pokemon ... but 2?) but have massive implications. As opposed to the big flashy generational gimmicks that get abandoned in the next Gen.

Personally I feel they need to keep the concept of Pokemon Legends in the next games to come, they just need to brush up on a few edges and improve on what they've got, all in all I'm impressed.
Hopefully in the games to come they will have more of a breath of the wild experience, which most of us I believe would like to see, also more improvements like gym leaders, tournaments, would also be good to see.
Also Nintendo needs to put their games on PC like Pokémon games and Fire Emblem games.

Why does everyone say the game looks horrible? Even if not perfect this is probably the best looking Pokémon game to date except for Pokkén Tournament.
Pokémon has been, and probably always will be, graphically behind the curve in order to try and best preserve their stylization and keep their little money making mascots recognizable and appealing. Since Red and Blue Pokémon has always been subpar in the graphics department, probably the closest they have come to graphically being on point for the time is gen 3 and maybe 4.

I think for a franchise which is the most profitable entertainment brand ever made its fine for us to want more impressive graphics haha. I agree the stylisation is important but that can be done with good graphics. Personally I've always felt like the sprites in the older games have way more style and character than the 3D models.

This is the most fun I've had with a Pokemon game since X and Y. And the first Pokemon game since X & Y, that I can recommend to non-Pokemon video game players.
That said, this game is a huge step in the right direction. Polish is definitely needed and GameFreak needs a bigger studio, period. But in the end, I enjoyed this game and am looking for its sequel more than anything else right now.
Never thought I'd be saying that a month ago.
There are a few issues that need to be fixed, but some are a necessary evil. Like the tutorial. Yeah, it's long. But overall... people are dumb. For a new style of play like this... we needed it. Also, Pokeballs have a range. That's weird. Especially for the Feather Balls and its successors. I actually love the story in this game. But you gotta get to the credits and then do the "post-game" to get to the end. They should kind of hinted at that.
The battle mechanics need to be tweaked a bit, but it's overall improved. Also, there is no multiplayer besides trading. That will obviously be fixed for future games, but it does need to be noted.
A lot of QoL changes are HUGE in this game and we need those for all future games. I can't wait.
In the end, way more good than bad in this. 9 out of 10 for a Pokemon game. 8 out of 10 for a video game, overall. You did good GameFreak. You did good.

the upgrades I want for open world pokemon games
    1. the overworld should feel more natural as if pokemon lives there. legends arceus world felt like a desert where pokemon roams in small grass. add some mountans, houses, villages, cities, forests, lakes etc so that the world feels more alive
    2. add the ability to climb and swim as the game character. I know legends arceus has the ability to swim and climb but using another pokemon. but I want this ability built in with the game character and using these abilities shall consume stamina just like BOTW. swimming and climbing using pokemons wont cost any stamina
    3. polish the game texture. it is frustrating how bad the game looks compare to BOTW and anyother openwolrd game came out this gen. it is shame that despite being the biggest franchise in the world pokemon games look like this horroble
    4. add voices to dialouge. I mean every game has this feature. I dont know why they dont do this earlier. I think they are lazy enough to not appoint voice actors
    5. there should be a side quests and main quests. after accepting quest players have the freedom to do them any time. main quests should drive the plot of this game like beating certain gyms or doing island challanges or evil team arcs. the side missions should be finding and catching a certain pokemon or catch a rare pokemon, beating a certain pokemon trainer or certain activities with well written stories
    6. erase the exp share mechanic or rework it so that other pokemon gets very little amount of exp. pokemon games should be hard and overcoming certain challanges should be felt rewarding. exp share makes these games easy. players really needed to grind their pokemons by challanging various trainers and batteling/catching wild pokemons. in these late gen games trainer can evolve pokemons even without batteling with them. it is very unrealisting feature. so the shared exp should be minimum. open world games should encourage the players to grind to make their pokemons powerfull rather than beating the story content to become auto powerfull, so a trainer who didnt grind enough will find this game very difficult
    7. pokemon battle should be like pokken tournament. I know the turn based style is the tradition but atleast one game should have dynamic batteling system so that the fans who love button mashing and hack and slash love this game. 4moves should be the limit but there should be an option to use certain moves to block/parry an attack, dodge an attack. there should be a dodge and block button in general and I liked the strong and agile style system. so they should be also include in these games. they can also add a small skill tree to every pokemon where pokemon can unlock various skills through a move. like use a move to block opposing pokemons move, add move combos for example using dragon claw by both arms and this doubles the move power but costs more stamina/pp, upgrade certain moves to increase their power or add variation to that move like as greninja instead of throwing five small water shurriken combine those power and create a gaint water shurriken that deals all of their damage combined etc.
    8. boss battles should be more than throwing something at the boss pokemon to break their sheilds. I think in a boss fight you should be able to use all of your pokemon at once or atleast 3 of them at once. you can switch between pokemons to control them while the other pokemons you are not controlling plays like a bot/npc. there should be a mechanic of elemental reactions. like after applying water electric attacks deal more damage or paralyzes them or able to hit rock/ground pokemons(just like anime), after applying water using an ice attack instantly freezes them/ decrease their speed. their should be a meter above pokemon after they get hit by a reactive element like poison, fire, ice and electric. when the meter fulls the pokemon gets static effects of that element. hitting a pokemon in there weakpoints increases the stun meter. when stun meter is full the pokemon is weakened and can be catched immediatly. higher level pokemon gets confused when their stun meter is fulled instead of getting weakened. boss pokemon like legendaries or alpha pokemons need to have an elemental aura sheild type of thing where this sheild can be only broken using certain elemental pokemon. like heatran having a fire aura sheild where only water attacks can break them and other elements have no effect on them. while battling bosses or agressive wild pokemons they can attack the trainers indstead of the pokemon. in that case you need to block that attack controlling your pokemon or set your pokemon on auto pilot and dodge attacks as a trainer. there should be a health bar and when the health meter drops to zero you faints and the wild pokemon flees and you get teleported to the pokemon center/ hospital. there should be a mechanic where certain legendary pokemons like suicune, entei and raikou tries to escape from you midbattle and you have to chase them while battleing using your ride pokemon and attack them while chasing. this will add variety in pokemon battles.
9.every big pokemons should be ridable and usable in openworld not just some pokemons. you can ride your own pokemons like pokemon lets go rather than using some flute. trainers could also battle while flying but they can send pokemons that can fly. same for underwater or occean surface battles. some water pokemons speed increases while fighting in water surface and the fighting enviornment affects the battle more drasticly. like in dark caves you may get attacked by wild pokemons and instantly kocked out. so you use your partner pokemon to follow you so they can block incoming attacks and some pokemon can enlighten the dark caves.there should be more collectable items in open world. these items can be used as craftables to craft pokeballs, certan battle buff items, health potions, status condition recovery potions etc. berries are fine collectable and there should be more berries and cooking them will have a special effect on the dish
    10. there should be a trainer level and research level( already in pokemon legends arceus so not gonna talk about that). increases trainer level by catching / leveling up your pokemon and winning battles. pokemon higher than your trainer level wont obey your command. if there are gyms then the gym challange difficulty will depend on your trainer level. for example if you have a high trainer level then the gym leader will use higher level pokemons. but the elite four and champions pokemon level wont be dependent on your trainer level. they will be using their absolute best team. trainer level will affect the item shop. higher level trainer can buy high quality pokeballs and other items and tm/tr moves
    11. ingame daynight circle(which already exists). but in night time their will be some new pokemon in the same area as the day time or new trainers who wants to battle will roam that place. so to fully explore an area a trainer needs to explore them both day time and night time
    12. I like the umderground wild area type of mechanic of bdsp. so adding them is not bad. there should be both underground and under sea wild areas where rare pokemons live and fun to explore.
I dont know if my absolute dream pokemon game will be made but I am sure many fans want this type of game. nindendo needs another type of console to make this game because switch cannot handle that. I have been deaming about AAA type of pokemon game when I got introduced to the franchise. I hope I and many other pokemon fans can get this game soon

I also honesty hope games like this slow down or just eliminate the need for remakes. I love going back to the regions, but underwhelming and unoriginal remakes like BDSP are perfect examples of why this practice needs to come to an end. Going back to "Sinnoh" before it was actually called that was a very refreshing take on an old region.
