This is the kind of game where you don’t even need a “best team” list. You can get through the game just fine using whatever you really like as long as you use the grits. And idk if I’ve seen anyone talk about this yet but when you release pokemon, you get grits like candies in Let’s Go sending to Oak.
Exactly 😂 I beat arceus using just chimecho during the Pokémon battle times (swapping to cresselia to take hits only while I heal a couple times) and I just use shaymin for all my alpha and distortion battles 😂. Once you get Pokémon to level 50ish and use grits it's a lot easier
Scizor is top tier in this game imo - powerful, tanky as hell and with a decent movepool to boot. I didn't find the fire weakness to be a problem for it either - bar the obvious section in the midgame it seemed to me like fire coverage was pretty rare overall.
Scyther and scizor will always be one of my favorite pokemon. Their design is lit and an epitome of "pokemon" design. The only thing that turns me off is the last evolution "kleavor" it's a major downgrade when it comes to design. Kleavor is a china version of kabutops
I'm Suprised that Roserade was chosen for a Best team and not Hisuian Liligant, which has Victory Dance, Powerful moves, and an excellent typing. You must be Wary around most Flying types, but with Victory Dance, you could one-shot just about anything
@@sen5857 Using Hisuian Lilligant makes room for Hisuian Arcanine instead of Infernape. Catching my first full odds Petilil basically forced me to use it, and goddamn, isn't it amazing and the most overpowered in the whole team. Using exclusively new Pokemon is another thing for me.
@@sen5857 same thing can be said to Kreavor since Syther is acceptable very early and that a base 500 stact and fought well against most the noble pokenon in a risk vs reward way with it soild 85 speed and an powerful 130 attack
Imo, bulky Pokémon are quite good in legends, because they typically have a lot of hard hits and staying power, as well as the fact that the pokemons speed does not seem to affect turn order too much (as in, they still get to move twice) in order to merit using a speedy Pokémon that won't stick around
The problem with a Legends Arceus Best Team is that it needs to be much, MUCH tankier than the standard games. Sweeping quite literally does not exist in this game thanks to the turn system being...well, actually based on turns this time. You need to be able to take hits before dishing them out in every battle against more than one Pokemon, including every Trainer. Some of choices are way too frail, and I made the same mistake with Infernape on my team. Sure, you can have one super fast sweeper, maybe two, but you've got four. If you were to ask me for the best team with everything like that in mind... Samurott (best starter by far, both offensively and defensively) Sylveon (best Fairy type in the game, since it has the fewest weaknesses and plenty of bulk) Heracross (not as frail as the other Fighting types, and covers its weaknesses really well) Goodra (the best standard Pokemon in the game by far thanks to its typing and the move Shelter) Gliscor (defensive monster with awesome movepool) Electivire (pure Electric is a good defensive type, especially in this game, plus its movepool is astoundingly good) TL;DR, you treated this game way too much like a normal Pokemon game which it absolutely isn't. If it were, sure, you might have a point with your team. But one needs to adapt to the mechanics.
I noticed it during the endgame fights. Sweeping isn't going to cut it if the next sent pokemon gets to move before you. You need a decent defensive backbone if you want to survive. I had my Goodra and Gliscor act as my tanks and Samurott to an extent due to typing. The team you mention sounds very good. A good mix of type diversity while still having a decent amount of bulk.
@@mauroperez2848 My own team only half resembled this. Samurott, Goodra, Sylveon, Kleavor, Infernape, and Porygon-Z. I try to speak from experience of making some good decisions and bad decisions. I mean, heck, I only added Goodra because I had an opportunity to gain a Shiny Kleavor. But that is about my playthrough on a whim with no research. A Best Team would do things differently, and you pointed to exactly what I was getting at. :)
I caught an alpha elekid and replaced my luxray with him, carried me through all the legendary captures and what not. And umbreon was a huge help with those defenses
One of the beauties about this game, aside from the exploration and catching elements, is the fact that this could be the BEST team, but you can't have a final solid team sometimes. Like I have switched so many Pokemon during my playthrough with the sole exception of my Typhlosion and it's still insane in the end. Especially with that final post-game fight? BLESSINGS
Not bad team. However, most of the team members are pretty frail and, due to how battles are like in the game, I feel like it’s better to have a slow and bulky team rather than a fast and frail team in Legends Arceus.
me personally, i disagree. i think its best to have around 4 sweep/2 bulk or maybe 3sweep/1bruiser/2bulk combos but it really does matter wat ur playstyle is. (it feels like even the bulk gets hit hard) I used Garchomp (free lvl85), Infernape (prob best/versatile poke), Gardevoir(powerhouse), Gyarados (needed a water type and cant go wrong with this guy), Tangrowth (mainly just for def/tank), Goodra (good sp def/bruiser) I also use togekiss instead of gardevoir when i need some more bulk. but i beat volo with just my garchomp, infernape and tangrowth(just used to heal my garchomp/infernape).
@@DatBoiHungLo I kinda agree with you on my first playthrough I felt like everything was getting hit hard but on my second run my team with Umbreon and goodra as my bulk feel bulky enough though togekiss feels underwhelming for me
@@LordSteeleCastleClashPsteele68 yea sometime he does feel underwhelming. i didnt mind umbreon or sylveon but i also dont like farming for a good eevee since theres no alpha.
I highly recommend getting a Sylveon. It's great for the entire game. You can get one before even crossing the first bridge without over leveling (a fairy move can be tutored, so I got one at level 15).
My sylveon was honestly my mvp in my play through. Evolved from the first eevee I saw so early in the game. I was shocked by its coverage, it can deal with almost anything u come up against.
i actually got a shiny eevee on my first outbreak, jokingly saying i would shiny hunt it and ended up getting one 😅 but, glad i evolved it into sylveon, love color scheme and it’s my favorite evolution 🙂
@@itsnatemate7697 like on the far left of obsidian fieldlands by the alpha rapidash there like a little pond and there either spawns bidoof or eevee right there. U can just keep going from the village back to the fields and one will spawn, it’s rare but not hard.
@@itsnatemate7697 As Chaz said, the best place to hunt for Eevee is in horseshoe area going left from the tutorial hill. You have to have a keen eye because they will run away if they see you. Once you see an Eevee, drop to a hard save. Then, toss a berry so it will start eating it facing away from you. From there, get close enough to make a good throw, but don’t get too close. If you fail, reset. The Eevee will generate every time.
Hey Mystic, a question popped into my mind: What inspired you to make the “Best Team” Series? I used these teams for some playthroughs because I wasn’t confident in my team building so I always appreciated when they came out, and I still like watching them, even if I don’t use them. But is there anything that wanted you to make this series? I’m curious what your answer will be,
You can get Chimchar near the Heights Camp. It's a pretty rare spawn, but if you're determined you can get it before Kleavor. Much earlier than after you have Basculegion.
If anyone is curious, this team doesn’t have any flying type moves, and although it doesn’t really matter because its super affective against grass, fighting, and bug types, which is already covered by the entirety of the team, if you really want to go the extra mile for a flying type, I’d say it doesn’t hurt to change one of the two fighting type moves Infernape has for Ariel ace, samurott can also learn Ariel ace, but the decision is yours to make. 😌
Luxray is so insanely good in this game. Keep him trough the end of the game and defeating the final boss will be very easy as he can learn ice fang to kill the giratina and he can withstand 2 palkia attacks, giving him the chance to defeat palkia without dying
I started off with Rowlett which was super fun and personally I really liked using umbreon and electivire on my team. Umbreon with calm mind and snarl is super good and being able to get the elemental punches with electivire is super nice. I ended up getting gyrados early and catching the togekiss that’s in obsidian fieldlands. Then I ended up catching a gliscore for ground which isn’t the best but was super fun
@@TheMasterBlaze The problem with Togekiss imo is that it's not fast enough to avoid getting wrecked by Volo's Arcanine. Cresellia for me pretty much trolled Volo with Moon Blessing like he can only hit me 1/5 after 2 casts of it. Cresellia is tanky enough and with obscured status it becomes more broken.
@@TheMasterBlaze Tbh it's a close gap between the Cresellia and Togekiss. It's just that Cresellia is broken af when Calm Mind and Lunar Blessing came to play. ua-cam.com/video/tdKCV0h3_jg/v-deo.html
@@cyber2cyke Fair. I can see the Value in Evasion in more cases, but i just like immunities and the lack of a Dark and Ghost weakness since those types are super common in the region. Plus Togekiss only has access to rest in this game instead of roost so cresselia def has a better grind game, but this game is super aggressive.
if you don't use Samurott, Vaporeon was an absolute tank for me, almost impossible to 1 shot in my experience and it has great special attack to go with it, and looks cool af too
I really hope you do a best team for Legends Arceus but with only Hisuian forms and evolutions. Whenever I play a new generation, I only use new Pokémon on my final team and never old Pokémon.
My team is - Samurott: Dark Pulse, Aqua Tail, Poison Jab, Sword Dance - Togekiss: Calm Mind, Mystical Fire, Moonblast, Air Slash - Magnezone: Thunder, Thunder Wave, Tri Attack, Flash Cannon - Liligant: Victory Dance, Leaf Blade, Drain Punch - Ursaluna: Giga Impact, Headlong Rush, Shadow Claw, Ice Punch - Infernape: Close Combat, Thunder Punch, Raging Fury, Rock Slide Maybe I miss a lot of things but it brings me an extremely relaxing jounrey. Recently, I've try using some Legendary Pokemon.
My one dilemma with picking my team for this game is that I ended up with a fairly generic gen 4 team but I also really wanted to use some of the new Pokémon. It's a hard choice lol
I like to see two of my teammates on here being Samurott and Goodra. The rest of the team is nice but I think Ursaluna is better then Rhyperior. Mainly for the lack of 4x weaknesses.
For Reference to the below: Overall Resistance Rating is equal to adding/subtracting the following (4x Effect is +4, 2x Effect is +2, 1/2 Effect is -2, 1/4 Effect is -4, Immunity is -1, Normal Effectiveness is 0 - Lower is Better) I just researched Legends Arceus myself and found that Ursaluna is a better Ground Type until you gain access to Garchomp (If you want a faster Ursaluna). For Reference Garchomp has an Overall Resistance rating of 2, the Same as Ursaluna, with better stat totals. The Regular Attack stat is 10 less in exchange for higher Special stat which I would argue that you could still use Bulldoze, but if you want a 90 power move, you could use earth power for that if you wanted and use Stone Edge, Shadow Claw and possibly Draco Meteor. Even then, Ursaluna may be a better Pokemon compared to Garchomp for the coverage, despite everything. Ursaluna compared to Rhyperior is better at guarding against weaknesses by the following facts: 1.Ursaluna is weak to 0 4x super effective moves as opposed to Rhyperior's 2 2. Ursaluna has the same number of 2x super effective weaknesses at 4 3. Ursaluna has 2 less 50% resistances, no 75% resistances, but one extra immunity 4. Ursaluna therefore has an Overall Resistance Rating of 2 as opposed to Rhyperior's 3 This is combined with having extra bulk compared to Rhyperior: 1. Better HP by 15 2. Same Physical Attack of 140 3. Less Physical Defense of 105 vs 130 of Rhyperior (But balanced by below Special Defense for more general purpose bulk) 4. Worse special Attack at 45 vs 55 of Rhyperior 5. Better Speed at 50 instead of 40 for Rhyperior 6. Better Special Defense of 80 instead of 55 7. In Addition Ursaluna has a Higher Base Stat Total of 550 instead of Rhyperior's 535 8. Ursaluna finally is much easier to obtain Than Rhyhorn because you can find an Alpha Ursaring and Teddiursa/Ursaring in the Second Area of the Game: Crimson Mirelands Also, The Combination of Gengar and Togekiss has a better Moveset (In terms of Base Power + Accuracy) using the same type coverage and a higher Combined Base Stat Total than the Gardevoir/Roserade Pairing.... Gengar replaces Roserade with the moveset: 1. Dazzling Gleam 2. Thunderbolt 3. Energy Ball 4. Sludge Bomb. Resistance Wise: 1. Roserade Has 4 2x Weakensses of Flying, Fire, Ice and Psychic while Gengar has the same number with Ground, Psychic, Ghost and Dark. 2. Roserade is resistant to 4 Move Types by 50%: Water, Electric, Fighting and Fairy while Gengar only has 2: Grass and Fairy. 3. Roserade has 1 Resistance by 75%: Grass while Gengar has 2: Bug and Poison 4. Roserade has no Immunities and Gengar has two: Normal and Fighting. 5. Roserade has an overall resistance rating of -4 while Gengar has -6 Stat Wise: 1. Gengar is faster than Roserade by 20 points 2. Gengar's Special Attack is 5 points more than Roserade 3. Gengar has slightly less Physical Defense Than Roserade (60 instead of 65) 4. Gengar has Significantly less Special Defense Than Roserade (75 instead of Roserade's 105) Considering Roserade is less resistant/Immune to enemy move types than Gengar while having the same base HP stats and having 30 less special defense; I think the speed and slightly increased special attack stat is worth it in order to get a more speedy Special Spammer. Gengar is also Easy to Obtain as you can obtain a Ghastly, including Alpha Variant in the Second Area of the Game: Crimson Mirelands. Togekiss is a pain to level up and evolve, but it is well worth it to replace Gardevoir as the moveset is: 1. Moonblast 2. Psychic 3. Flamethrower (Better Base Power Than Mystical Fire) 4. Shadow Ball Resistance Wise: 1. Togekiss has 2 more 2x super effective weaknesses than Gardevoir (Gardevoir has a Ghost, Poison and Steel Weakness while Togekiss has Electric, Ice, Poison, Rock and Steel) 2. Togekiss has one extra 50% resistance and also 1 extra 75% resistance (Gardevoir has a 50% resistance to Psychic while Togekiss resists Grass and Dark. 75% resistance wise, Gardevoir resists Fighting Type, while Togekiss resists Fighting and Bug Types). 3. Togekiss has 1 extra immunity than Gardevoir (Gardevoir Is immune to Fairy, but Togekiss is immune to Ground and Dragon Moves) 4. Togekiss has an Overall Resistance Rating of -4 compared to Gardevoir's -1. Stat Wise: 1. Much superior stat total for Togekiss at 545 to Gardevoir's 518 2. Togekiss has exceptionally superior HP (85 compared to 60 of Gardevoir) 3. Togekiss has Superior Physical Defense (95 compared to 65 of Gardevoir) 4. Togekiss has Equal Special Defense (115) and Speed (80) compared to Gardevoir 5. Togekiss has a slightly worse Special Attack stat (only 5 less than Gardevoir) 6. Togekiss has worse Physical Attack (50 compared to 65). These facts makes it the better Pokemon to field compared to Gardevoir; especially since you can use a more powerful (90 Power) special stat oriented fire move, Flamethrower compared to Mystical Fire. Both, I feel, along with Ursaluna Replacing Rhyperior are better choices with extra bulk that have better stats and in some cases movesets with the same coverage as the original three (Rhyperior, Roserade and Gardevoir) in your video.
Fun fact: you can catch a ralts on the edge of the crimson mirelands. I was committed to finding a ralts in my first playthrough and stumbled upon it while riding on wyrdeer.
For those who chose Samurott as their starter: Against Giratina, teach Samurott Dark Pulse instead of Night Slash. Crits are nice but it will not matter if you don't hit Giratina.
Good to have a high level Hisuian Zoroark on your team for the battle with Giratina. Can learn Dark Pulse too and is immune to most of Giratina's attacks like Shadow Force and Aura Sphere.
You can say samurott is the best starter, but typhlosion carries me through the entire game by itself. There wasn't a single challenge it couldn't handle
@@kjmcgrew1215 yea i chose cyndaquil too because that was favourite starter back then but now i replaced him because i now have the VERY BEST fire type heatran idk why i did it but it was worth it
Frankly I'm considering Ursaluna instead of Rhyperior mainly for it's Tanky-ness, and how the Normal Type-ing protects it from Giratina's Shadow Force, while at the same same having Access to Play Rough
Like you mentioned, I WAS NOT ready for Giratina but I did win due to the cheese power of being rich. If anyone is struggling there, what I did was keep using revives until Giratina ran out of pp, then it was gg.
Samurott Infernape Togekiss Luxray Garchomp Gardevoir Might replay the game on a different account but with the new forms and different starter because this feels more like a BDSP team
Of course to get Hisui Samurott, you have to fill up Oshawott and Dewott's pokedex entries cause you may not get another chance until post game. Things like see it use Strong or Agile Moves 15 times. I try to complete the starter's entries before evolving them.
The way Bulldoze works in this game especially for a fast mon like Garchomp allows it to move twice even without Agile Style making it better than Earthquake. Also Hisuian Lilligant is leagues ahead of Roserade, Victory Dance is so broken. Last I would recommend a bulkier fairy over Gardevior, probably Togekiss or Sylveon.
Typhlosion is def the best starter, but I would agree with Mystic on Sammurott for the game. Like, everything has a dark move and fire is weak to a lot of common types like water and Rock. Water Dark is just better for the game.
I definitely agree with the Bulldoze issue with Garchomp. I'm raising an alpha Garchomp and I replaced Earth Power with Bulldoze at first...but it just wasn't doing it for me. So I maxed out its Sp. Atk EVs and gave it Earth Power. Works much better 👍
@@Memekyu Bulldoze lowers the opponent action speed and since Garchomp is already fast my Garchomp can move twice without agile style against alot of mons. Bulldoze works wonders on my Torterra, so much so I keep both Bulldoze and Headlong Rush.
Im just glad how early everything is. Have my full team the second i get to mirelands though goomy is a bit overleveled but its here for later. Makes for a more fun game knowing i wont forget one.
The plan for my team is gonna be Hisuian Decidueye (Favourite starter available), Hisuian Goodra (Steel / Dragon is awesome, cool design as well), Hisuian Arcanine (Just looks awesome), Hisuian Zoroark (I loved normal Zoroark, and Hisuian Zoroark is darn near perfect), Garchomp (Favourite Pokémon, and it's goated) and Basculegion (I need a water type and Basculegion is awesome). I don't care if it's bad, I just chose my 6 favourites in the Pokedex.
Can you try to introduce “non-recurring” teams for future videos? An example is not being able to use Gardevoir or Mawile in ORAS because of already being in X and Y Pokédex. HGSS would not allow Pokémon with new Sinnoh evolutions or Johto and Kanto Pokémon already in the Platinum Pokédex. This disqualifies Roserade from BDSP since it was in SwSh.
Wow, you described my team exactly. I was expecting to learn of a more optimized team, but I guess I'm already there. Thanks for the confirmation 🤷🏻♂️
I’d much rather use Ursaluna than Rhyperior, since it takes Special hits better, has fewer weaknesses, an amazing move pool, and most importantly is much easier to obtain early compared to Rhyperior.
You saved my life, my Lucario, 40 dex entries and roughly 30 hours of game play. For whatever reason after I reset this game picked a save file from like a week ago
In my experience, I found Luxaray to be probably the most important Pokémon in the game, having access to thunder wave early in the game means you can catch Alphas early in the game on top of that with his high speed decent attack and decent defense and so defense he can often times survive hits and get Alphas low enough to catch. Idk if this is confirmed but I’ve noticed that using strong thunder wave is best because it lasts longer and they’re paralyzed more often at least it feels that way. So basically Luxaray allows you to catch any Alpha you need fairly easy and fairly early fairly early with the use of smoke bombs and back shots, making him in my opinion one of the best pokemons in the game. He also has access to Crunch which is a great move in this game. The game is based on catching Pokemons and I think he may just be the best Pokémon catcher in the game.
Hisui Lelligant with Victory Dance, Drain Punch, Leaf Blade, and Recover is actually kind of broken. It can tank super effective moves then recover most of its health with a drain punch while probably 1 or 2 hit ko'ing pretty much anything after using Victory Dance.
The best part is: The team is done as soon as you enter crimson mirelands. There is a mission that gives you a free chimchar in obsidian fieldland after kleavor is done
Great video, you earn a sub. I already beat the game with my team. Typhlosion (shadow ball, flamethrower, mystic fire and infernal parade). Sylveon (shadow ball, mystic leaf, calm mind and dazzling gleam). Garchomp, my favorite pkmn (dragon claw, iron head, outrage and bulldoze). Sneasler (bulk up, drain punch, shadow claw and dire claw). Empoleon (ice beam, flash cannon, hydro pump and wave crash). I replaced empoleon with Dialga later, then replaced Dialga with Giratina. Lopunny (ice punch, thunder punch, drain punch and play rough). things i noticed, but i can be wrong as they may function differently: -It seems you also gain friendship if you use your pokemon for exploration, talking with it and let it talk with other pokemons as my eevee evolved really fast into Sylveon. -Some moves are inherently fast or slow: hyper beam and giga impact will give your enemy an extra turn while in the other hand iron head and zen headbutt will give you an extra turn.
Given the way the turn order mechanics work in this game, I heavily recommend running Aqua Jet on Samurott instead of Aqua Tail just for the ‘multiple moves before your opponent’ thing. You can get off an Aqua Jet and a Ceaseless edge consecutively before your opponent gets to move at all as long as the opposing Pokémon isn’t absurdly fast, but if it is, you simply pull an Agile Style Aqua Jet to achieve the same effect.
My team at the last boss, porygon Z, rhyperion, gardevor, magmortar, lucario and garchamp. By giratinas first form, I had three standing. By the end of the battle, only my porygon was left. Its funny, if you swap out magmortar for leafeon and gardevor for alakazam (who I ran with till the sinnoh temple let me know I needed a fairy stab) it would be exactly the same as my platinum team
funny thing is you can get chimchar-infernape even before Budew since they can spawn pretty rarely near the second base camps location in the feild lands & there's even a quest that comes with a guarentied chimchar encounter/mandatory catch
Yeah probably the only thing I wasn't a fan of was the fact that to go anywhere you had to go back to Jubilife village first. Would've been cool if there were other villages to make pit stops at when transitioning from area to area
My team was Samurott, Staraptor, Infernape, Sylveon, Gengar and alpha Garchomp, which I swapped out for Mamoswine later. Was decent, got through the main game with no issues and (only just) through Volo and Giratina without healing. Could definitely have used some more bulk though due to how this game and its turn mechanics worked, and I was surprised at how little I used Staraptor in the end. Would've liked Gliscor or Gardevoir, but I wanted to use some I hadn't before.
I got the three out of six for my team. I used Gengar, Gliscor, and Porygon-Z for the main story. For the post-game, I swapped out Z for an Alpha Zoroark that I caught. Looking at my team, I feel like I could have used a few more tanks, but the game threw me an alpha Ghastly and Zoroark, so I couldn't say no.
But why not Ursaluna instead of Rhyperior? It has better speed, as good (if not slightly better) bulk, stronger ground type stab with Headlong Rush, and nearly the same coverage options
It's due to how you get an Ursaluna. First, you need a Peat Block which you can only find digging where you first meet Ursaluna. Then, you need to wait for the full moon in the Crimson Mirelands to even evolve Ursaring. I'm guessing the reason he included Rhyperior over Ursaluna is due to ease of access. You can get a Protector from either trading your merit points or space-time distortions. You can also find an Alpha Rhyperior whereas you can't find Ursaluna in the wild.
Peat blocks are available everywhere as long as you have Ursaluna (I’ve gotten them in all areas) and Goodra still evolves in the rain so cycling for special conditions isn’t an automatic disqualification.
@@TempestNouzen didn't know about peat blocks being everywhere. Also I forgot that you can cycle through to get the weather or moon phase that you need. I remember doing that to get my Goodra and to get Thunderus to appear.
I think you should replace ryprieor for ursaluna would a big help to the team so samurott, infernape/arcunine, roserade, Ursaluna, gardevior, and goodra
I really like your choices for the team! I used Infernape & Goodra on my Decidueye playthrough, but I’ll definitely keep in mind some of your thoughts for my Oshawott run! The last boss battle was 100% the most difficult battle if you dont overlevel + max out on Grits. can’t wait for the decidueye Best Team!
My final end game team was similar to yours... Samurott, Arcanine, Roserade, Ursaluna, Gardevoir, and Goodra Eventually I built another team that I don't think was as good but I thought it was really fun... Typhlosion, Empoleon, Tangrowth, Avalugg, Overquil, Alakazam In other games I've thought coverage was not as important, but in PLA having moves of virtually every type is OP when you're trying to complete all research tasks. Great vid!
Thank you so much for this video MysticUmbreon! I always have fun using your recommendations for best teams, and I wanted to see your recommendation for Legends Arceus before I started my play through. 😊👍
the problem is you need the link cable and MP points to get rhyperior from rhydon anyways but if you ask me, the highlands is no later to get the garchomp line compared to most of the pokemon here. besides, garchomp is stronger and faster and has less weaknesses than rhyperior
I ended up on running empoleon, infernape, torterra, froslass, alakazam and gliscor (full odds random shiny 😄) Found it to be a pretty balanced team with an answer to anything you come across. Also froslass is beastly and came in clutch in that postgame battle first time which I was NOT prepared for haha. Super fragile but if you're clever with using agile style moves she can pull of 3 moves in a row against a lot of stuff.
I went with Typhlosian, Umbreon, alpha Rhyperior, alpha Tangrowth, alpha Togekiss, and alpha Ursaluna. All were above 530 stats and I felt I could cover all weaknesses with them.
My team: Blackbeard the Samurott Axel the Decidueye Turbo the Goodra Powerline the Electivire Chopper the Kleavor Crash the Zororark and Bagman the Typhlosion (I swap between the two)
For me, one team simply isn't enough. I grind a LOT regularly and by the time I reach Coronet Highlands all of my 2 teams are already above level 70. Here are my 2 teams I carry along: Team 1 - Samurott, Liligant, Sneasler, Electivire, Togekiss, Bastiodon. Team 2 - Infernape, Wyrdeer, Drapion, Sylveon, Roserade, Bronzong. I make sure each team has at least ONE defensive mon to tank any hits, which are Bastiodon and Bronzong, while the rest can be offensive. Previously had Alazakam but it was waaaaay too frail.

Hey, thank you very much for spending your time to summarize the video
What color you have eyes and eyebrows and shoes ..and name of shoes please
Love how samurott is in the thumbnail. I had a feeling typhlosion was gonna be the best but I’m glad my favourite otter is on the best team!
Typhlosion is a better offensive pokemon, but not as bulky.
Heck yeah
Typhlosion has a terrible move pool compared to the other two plus a lot of mons have access to crunch
Let's goooo my favorite pokemon
Idky but I hated typhlosions design
Counting down the minutes while I play Pokémon arceus. You’re my go to for Pokémon thank you for your content!
This is the kind of game where you don’t even need a “best team” list. You can get through the game just fine using whatever you really like as long as you use the grits. And idk if I’ve seen anyone talk about this yet but when you release pokemon, you get grits like candies in Let’s Go sending to Oak.
No matter what you fight or what you use, you can usually only take a couple of hits anyways. Even if your lvl 60 mon is fighting a lvl 25 lol
That is EVERY Pokémon game
@@Mavarik311 nah. You can usually walk around with a team of lvl 60s and clear areas no problem without having to heal every 10 mins.
@@Straight_White_Fatherly_Figure there are a couple of bulky mons that can take quite a few hits like blissey and ursaluna
This is such a uniquely put together team! Arceus really opens up the possibilities to try so many new pokemon! Great video
Scizor is top tier in this game imo - powerful, tanky as hell and with a decent movepool to boot. I didn't find the fire weakness to be a problem for it either - bar the obvious section in the midgame it seemed to me like fire coverage was pretty rare overall.
Scizor is good in every game lol
Scyther and scizor will always be one of my favorite pokemon. Their design is lit and an epitome of "pokemon" design. The only thing that turns me off is the last evolution "kleavor" it's a major downgrade when it comes to design. Kleavor is a china version of kabutops
@@style668 yeah it’s ugly.
How I cam get thunder punch at infernape?
I just kept it as Scyther because FAST
I'm Suprised that Roserade was chosen for a Best team and not Hisuian Liligant, which has Victory Dance, Powerful moves, and an excellent typing. You must be Wary around most Flying types, but with Victory Dance, you could one-shot just about anything
Likely didn't want to double up on Fighting types with Infernape on the team.
@@Varghaz I like that variation - I'm gonna have to go raise these guys

@@Sidneychu129 well I did say Mystic/Tey the simps on his teyvationavy channel aka his genshin impact channel on a live stream
Gardevoir is just a killer....I can't imagine my any playthrough without this majestic angel....
Imo, bulky Pokémon are quite good in legends, because they typically have a lot of hard hits and staying power, as well as the fact that the pokemons speed does not seem to affect turn order too much (as in, they still get to move twice) in order to merit using a speedy Pokémon that won't stick around
Beautiful! Now I can’t wait to see the alternative starter best team
Samurott (best starter by far, both offensively and defensively)
Sylveon (best Fairy type in the game, since it has the fewest weaknesses and plenty of bulk)
Heracross (not as frail as the other Fighting types, and covers its weaknesses really well)
Goodra (the best standard Pokemon in the game by far thanks to its typing and the move Shelter)
Gliscor (defensive monster with awesome movepool)
Electivire (pure Electric is a good defensive type, especially in this game, plus its movepool is astoundingly good)
TL;DR, you treated this game way too much like a normal Pokemon game which it absolutely isn't.
ah but I swept a certain final boss, 6-0. so perhaps it quite literally DOES exist...
I caught an alpha elekid and replaced my luxray with him, carried me through all the legendary captures and what not. And umbreon was a huge help with those defenses
This is legit my team rn except I have infernape instead of heracross
One of the beauties about this game, aside from the exploration and catching elements, is the fact that this could be the BEST team, but you can't have a final solid team sometimes. Like I have switched so many Pokemon during my playthrough with the sole exception of my Typhlosion and it's still insane in the end. Especially with that final post-game fight? BLESSINGS
This was quite fun to watch. Thank you for putting this out.
Not bad team. However, most of the team members are pretty frail and, due to how battles are like in the game, I feel like it’s better to have a slow and bulky team rather than a fast and frail team in Legends Arceus.
Or build your team of both 🤷♂️, not that hard to grind in the game, I used a garchomp and kept facing alpha electric types
I'm surprised Umbreon isn't mentioned I did another playthrough and Umbreon is super clutch and just bulky
me personally, i disagree. i think its best to have around 4 sweep/2 bulk or maybe 3sweep/1bruiser/2bulk combos but it really does matter wat ur playstyle is. (it feels like even the bulk gets hit hard)
I used Garchomp (free lvl85), Infernape (prob best/versatile poke), Gardevoir(powerhouse), Gyarados (needed a water type and cant go wrong with this guy), Tangrowth (mainly just for def/tank), Goodra (good sp def/bruiser)
I also use togekiss instead of gardevoir when i need some more bulk. but i beat volo with just my garchomp, infernape and tangrowth(just used to heal my garchomp/infernape).
I’ve never seen an eevee before the first bridge. Can you elaborate please?
i actually got a shiny eevee on my first outbreak, jokingly saying i would shiny hunt it and ended up getting one 😅 but, glad i evolved it into sylveon, love color scheme and it’s my favorite evolution 🙂
I’m curious what your answer will be,
I caught Chimchar earlier in the mountain by where weirddeer hang in the first map. Didn't have to wait to get fish lol
You can get Chimchar near the Heights Camp. It's a pretty rare spawn, but if you're determined you can get it before Kleavor. Much earlier than after you have Basculegion.
I found chimchar this way
There's also a quest you can do to get Chimchar as well
I saw him running around but didn't know it was rare since I just started the game.....think I scared him off or something lol
Here’s my team so far in Legends Arceus:
Hisuian Decidueye
Wyrdeer
Hisuian Goodra
Basculegion
Overqwill
Hisuian Arcanine
the alpha garchomp in the alabaster icelands it´s SO worth it, A MUST i believe, that thing can solo the entire postgame
well volo's giratina, garchomp and togekiss?
A level 32 croagunk almost two-shoted my level 71 Electivire with Poison moves. Your level 85 Garchomp will be decimated eventually.
The fact I get featured in the form of my satchel being return is amazing, thanks for returning it.
After you do the Alternate Starters, you should create a best team with all Starters
@@timotheninja You can trade for them.
Umbreon was super clutch for me with that defense
My Umbreon was able to solo giratina
I just evolved my evee to Sylveon.....surprisingly tanky
I know we still have Rowlet and Cyndaquil ahead, but I especially look forward to what the Worst Team for Legends Arceus will play out like.

I replaced Gardevoir with Cresellia. Moon Blessing and Calm Mind is a must have for the Volo battle.
Togekiss is the better substitute imo. 2 immunites and 1 resist and 1 neutral hit when Vs-ing giratina was invaluable to my run.

Infernape- Flamethrower, Close Combat, Thunder Punch, Drain Punch
Gardevoir- Psychic, Moonblast, Thunderbolt, Mystical Fire
Rhyperior- High Horsepower, Stone Edge, Thunder Punch, Shadow Claw
I really hope you do a best team for Legends Arceus but with only Hisuian forms and evolutions. Whenever I play a new generation, I only use new Pokémon on my final team and never old Pokémon.
Bulldoze is really good in this game, abusing it with the agile/strong system can actually net you 3 consecutive turns depending on opponent
Garchomp still fucking sucks lmao, bow down to the superiority of Metagross’s coverage.

- Ursaluna: Giga Impact, Headlong Rush, Shadow Claw, Ice Punch
- Infernape: Close Combat, Thunder Punch, Raging Fury, Rock Slide
Maybe I miss a lot of things but it brings me an extremely relaxing jounrey. Recently, I've try using some Legendary Pokemon.
My one dilemma with picking my team for this game is that I ended up with a fairly generic gen 4 team but I also really wanted to use some of the new Pokémon. It's a hard choice lol
What can I say… Gen 4’s just that good! 👌
I like to see two of my teammates on here being Samurott and Goodra. The rest of the team is nice but I think Ursaluna is better then Rhyperior. Mainly for the lack of 4x weaknesses.
Agreed. Ursaluna has pretty good STAB's and REALLY GOOD stats.
And should have used h lilligant over roserade
@@SACREDSCIZOR9116 I only agree if you need other physical attackers
For Reference to the below: Overall Resistance Rating is equal to adding/subtracting the following (4x Effect is +4, 2x Effect is +2, 1/2 Effect is -2, 1/4 Effect is -4, Immunity is -1, Normal Effectiveness is 0 - Lower is Better)
I just researched Legends Arceus myself and found that Ursaluna is a better Ground Type until you gain access to Garchomp (If you want a faster Ursaluna).
Ursaluna compared to Rhyperior is better at guarding against weaknesses by the following facts:
1.Ursaluna is weak to 0 4x super effective moves as opposed to Rhyperior's 2
2. Ursaluna has the same number of 2x super effective weaknesses at 4
3. Ursaluna has 2 less 50% resistances, no 75% resistances, but one extra immunity
4. Ursaluna therefore has an Overall Resistance Rating of 2 as opposed to Rhyperior's 3
This is combined with having extra bulk compared to Rhyperior:
1. Better HP by 15
2. Same Physical Attack of 140
3. Less Physical Defense of 105 vs 130 of Rhyperior (But balanced by below Special Defense for more general purpose bulk)
4. Worse special Attack at 45 vs 55 of Rhyperior
5. Better Speed at 50 instead of 40 for Rhyperior
6. Better Special Defense of 80 instead of 55
7. In Addition Ursaluna has a Higher Base Stat Total of 550 instead of Rhyperior's 535
8. Ursaluna finally is much easier to obtain Than Rhyhorn because you can find an Alpha Ursaring and Teddiursa/Ursaring in the Second Area of the Game: Crimson Mirelands
Also, The Combination of Gengar and Togekiss has a better Moveset (In terms of Base Power + Accuracy) using the same type coverage and a higher Combined Base Stat Total than the Gardevoir/Roserade Pairing....
Gengar replaces Roserade with the moveset:
1. Dazzling Gleam
2. Thunderbolt
3. Energy Ball
4. Sludge Bomb.
Resistance Wise:
3. Roserade has 1 Resistance by 75%: Grass while Gengar has 2: Bug and Poison
4. Roserade has no Immunities and Gengar has two: Normal and Fighting.
5. Roserade has an overall resistance rating of -4 while Gengar has -6
Stat Wise:
1. Gengar is faster than Roserade by 20 points
2. Gengar's Special Attack is 5 points more than Roserade
3. Gengar has slightly less Physical Defense Than Roserade (60 instead of 65)
4. Gengar has Significantly less Special Defense Than Roserade (75 instead of Roserade's 105)
Considering Roserade is less resistant/Immune to enemy move types than Gengar while having the same base HP stats and having 30 less special defense; I think the speed and slightly increased special attack stat is worth it in order to get a more speedy Special Spammer. Gengar is also Easy to Obtain as you can obtain a Ghastly, including Alpha Variant in the Second Area of the Game: Crimson Mirelands.
Togekiss is a pain to level up and evolve, but it is well worth it to replace Gardevoir as the moveset is:
1. Moonblast
2. Psychic
3. Flamethrower (Better Base Power Than Mystical Fire)
4. Shadow Ball
Resistance Wise:
1. Togekiss has 2 more 2x super effective weaknesses than Gardevoir (Gardevoir has a Ghost, Poison and Steel Weakness while Togekiss has Electric, Ice, Poison, Rock and Steel)
3. Togekiss has 1 extra immunity than Gardevoir (Gardevoir Is immune to Fairy, but Togekiss is immune to Ground and Dragon Moves)
4. Togekiss has an Overall Resistance Rating of -4 compared to Gardevoir's -1.
Stat Wise:
1. Much superior stat total for Togekiss at 545 to Gardevoir's 518
2. Togekiss has exceptionally superior HP (85 compared to 60 of Gardevoir)
3. Togekiss has Superior Physical Defense (95 compared to 65 of Gardevoir)
4. Togekiss has Equal Special Defense (115) and Speed (80) compared to Gardevoir
5. Togekiss has a slightly worse Special Attack stat (only 5 less than Gardevoir)
Very helpful and thorough thank you!
I think it's hilarious how Samurott's moveset is the exact one I ended up using on mine
Would love to see a no restrictions version and an Alpha only version too!
Fun fact: you can catch a ralts on the edge of the crimson mirelands. I was committed to finding a ralts in my first playthrough and stumbled upon it while riding on wyrdeer.
For those who chose Samurott as their starter:
Against Giratina, teach Samurott Dark Pulse instead of Night Slash. Crits are nice but it will not matter if you don't hit Giratina.
Ceasless edge is great i got a critical hit against giratina plus that residual damage is also helpful
Good to have a high level Hisuian Zoroark on your team for the battle with Giratina. Can learn Dark Pulse too and is immune to most of Giratina's attacks like Shadow Force and Aura Sphere.
You can also used to togekiss to replace gardevior it can take down dragon types and you have a flying type in your team
You can say samurott is the best starter, but typhlosion carries me through the entire game by itself. There wasn't a single challenge it couldn't handle

My mvp Luna will never leave my side 🥲
Frankly I'm considering Ursaluna instead of Rhyperior mainly for it's Tanky-ness, and how the Normal Type-ing protects it from Giratina's Shadow Force, while at the same same having Access to Play Rough

Of course to get Hisui Samurott, you have to fill up Oshawott and Dewott's pokedex entries cause you may not get another chance until post game. Things like see it use Strong or Agile Moves 15 times. I try to complete the starter's entries before evolving them.

Zoroark
Garchamp
Gallade
My team just kept changing but I landed on this in the end:
Electivire
Froslass
Rhyperior

The way Bulldoze works in this game especially for a fast mon like Garchomp allows it to move twice even without Agile Style making it better than Earthquake. Also Hisuian Lilligant is leagues ahead of Roserade, Victory Dance is so broken. Last I would recommend a bulkier fairy over Gardevior, probably Togekiss or Sylveon.
I feel like typhlosion is the better for this game. Calm mind on this thing makes it a freaking monster in game
Typhlosion is def the best starter, but I would agree with Mystic on Sammurott for the game.
Like, everything has a dark move and fire is weak to a lot of common types like water and Rock. Water Dark is just better for the game.
One thing about pla is the at moves are one big pool accessible from the menu and even the moves taught are stored with them I love that system
That works too but my experience Bulldoze usually allows Garchomp to move twice making it the better option for me.
@@PlaysManyGames Its been about a month and I still don't get how getting 2 attacks off in a row work, aside from Agile Style.
@@Memekyu Bulldoze lowers the opponent action speed and since Garchomp is already fast my Garchomp can move twice without agile style against alot of mons. Bulldoze works wonders on my Torterra, so much so I keep both Bulldoze and Headlong Rush.

You can get Chimchar much earlier as part of one request. I got it Before Kleavor fight.
I actually caught a Monferno before Kleavor. You can get Chimchar before like you said, but I got lucky.
It's also a rare spawn in Deertrack Heights. Best odds are during Sunny or Drought conditions according to Serebii.
@@mauroperez2848 Poor Kleavor wasn't expecting my Infernape, grabbed the Chimchar near the top of Deertrack Heights
Thank you for putting Rhyperior! Mine has been a godsend
Luxray has 70 base speed. That's not even remotely fast.
Hisui Lelligant with Victory Dance, Drain Punch, Leaf Blade, and Recover is actually kind of broken. It can tank super effective moves then recover most of its health with a drain punch while probably 1 or 2 hit ko'ing pretty much anything after using Victory Dance.
The best part is:
The team is done as soon as you enter crimson mirelands.
Lopunny (ice punch, thunder punch, drain punch and play rough).
things i noticed, but i can be wrong as they may function differently:
-It seems you also gain friendship if you use your pokemon for exploration, talking with it and let it talk with other pokemons as my eevee evolved really fast into Sylveon.
Volo hands down hardest fight of any Pokémon game. The only times I’ve had to switch up my team completely and have a tactic without over leveling
My team at the last boss, porygon Z, rhyperion, gardevor, magmortar, lucario and garchamp. By giratinas first form, I had three standing. By the end of the battle, only my porygon was left. Its funny, if you swap out magmortar for leafeon and gardevor for alakazam (who I ran with till the sinnoh temple let me know I needed a fairy stab) it would be exactly the same as my platinum team
spelt like every pokemon wrong
quick tip you can have two switches so you can trade Pokemon between both consoles it helps complete research taskes and the Pokédex
Good team except it lacks speed. With this setup you'll trade kills with Volo's regular team before Giratina.
funny thing is you can get chimchar-infernape even before Budew since they can spawn pretty rarely near the second base camps location in the feild lands & there's even a quest that comes with a guarentied chimchar encounter/mandatory catch
For the next game we just need to keep the battle animations and the open world and bring back cities, trainers and gyms
Would've liked Gliscor or Gardevoir, but I wanted to use some I hadn't before.
nice very similar to me
I got the three out of six for my team.
That's a good samurott move set, thanks
Can't wait for the Typhlosion video!
My final end game team was similar to yours... Samurott, Arcanine, Roserade, Ursaluna, Gardevoir, and Goodra
Eventually I built another team that I don't think was as good but I thought it was really fun... Typhlosion, Empoleon, Tangrowth, Avalugg, Overquil, Alakazam
In other games I've thought coverage was not as important, but in PLA having moves of virtually every type is OP when you're trying to complete all research tasks.
Great vid!
Thank you so much for this video MysticUmbreon! I always have fun using your recommendations for best teams, and I wanted to see your recommendation for Legends Arceus before I started my play through. 😊👍
the problem is you need the link cable and MP points to get rhyperior from rhydon anyways but if you ask me, the highlands is no later to get the garchomp line compared to most of the pokemon here. besides, garchomp is stronger and faster and has less weaknesses than rhyperior
even a year later, the garchomp is too late in the game argument is REALLY stupid. who freakin cares when its better and faster than garchomp
I ended up on running empoleon, infernape, torterra, froslass, alakazam and gliscor (full odds random shiny 😄)
Found it to be a pretty balanced team with an answer to anything you come across.
Still can’t get over how they gave Gardevoir Ice Beam and Aura Sphere. Like, dude, that’s gonna be huge in competitive.
My team:
Blackbeard the Samurott
Axel the Decidueye
Turbo the Goodra
Powerline the Electivire
Chopper the Kleavor
Crash the Zororark and Bagman the Typhlosion (I swap between the two)
For me, one team simply isn't enough. I grind a LOT regularly and by the time I reach Coronet Highlands all of my 2 teams are already above level 70. Here are my 2 teams I carry along:
Team 1 - Samurott, Liligant, Sneasler, Electivire, Togekiss, Bastiodon.
1st
Correct
Gliscor, Drapion, Gallade all made my list of pokemon who's type makes them have the most type coverage for resistance
Mystic really loves that Roserade-Infernape combo
And Mystic also love the psyical type as that type have been on alot of his team
0:40 ‘a focus more on battling that catching’
Fans look to older Pokémon switch game
Let’s Go: Pssh
You're seriously sleeping on ursaluna. For reference, it can easily go toe to toe with basically any pokemon, and is capable of soloing Volo's team
