I was really impressed at Jamie's willingness to step up to flying the Alta X. Me and Drew were both a little freaked out about Jamie's power loop. Because the Alta went below the distant tree-line, it looked lower to the ground than it really was. But upon review of the footage it's clear she was in control the whole time. The edit shows the drama of the moment, but I wouldn't want anybody to come away from this episode thinking anything bad about her piloting.

The only reason I wanted to make that comment was because after watching the final edit, I was sure some jerks would take it as a sign that she wasn't competent to fly the Alta. Tell me I'm wrong. I'm not scared of backlash. I'm rising to meet it.

@Pond sorry but you all made it about gender. All I did was try to clarify that my reaction in the moment was overreacting. Jamie is a new cast member and the least experienced pilot of the crew so I wanted to stick up for her skills. I never mentioned gender until you all came out of the woodwork to accuse me of being a white knight.
I have no problem sticking up for anyone who is being treated badly and doesn't deserve it.

God I love this team. Bardwell, Drib, Zoe, and Jamie are such an amazing combo, in addition to all the others on the rotor riot team.

Rotor Riot just keeps getting better, it's awesome to see Bardwell in the wild. And special guest star RCtestflight. His car chase video was what got me thinking about drones a few years ago.
It’s great to see any medium bring the essence of life out of people. I am 45 years old and get to be 15 again every time I get a transmitter in my hands. I see you guys getting the same gift out of our hobby/sport. This kind of activity is how life is supposed to be; without the unnecessary pressures of chasing “success” as seen by society. All of you are some of the most successful (in my eyes) humans I have seen in a long time. Keep smiling and keep sharing it with each other. Hopefully others will catch on. It truly is the essence of the short time we are alive.

Daniel was one of the major reasons that I got into FPV back in 2013. I have major respect for the guy and i'm glad that he's had success in a company like Freefly.
I like the pinwheel shape of the extended arms on this thing. Kinda reminiscent of a superior ancient symbol denoting luck & balance.
3D 15.000 $ drone with Zoe . when ? 😈
We pondered it but the problem is the Alta uses collapsible props, so when the motor reversed the prop would collapse and the quad would crash.

This is now my absolute favorite Rotor Riot episode. Every moment of it is phenomenal. This is the one I'll send to people to get them interested in the channel.
Daniel was charismatic and funny. The RR team was on without being _too_ on. The "Let Zoe fly" thread was paced beautifully throughout the video. Music and editing were on point. Just... damn, guys, I love it.

Man that looks like a blast
Big drones are fun to fly. They aren't agile or good around corners, but they can feel very fast given the poor control, which is good. Something different is good when things get stale. It's like learning to fly all over again heh.
Don't be so harsh on Zoe , the lady got some mad skills on her hands.
The thing with the "Are you going to crash it?" was to get *her* to believe in herself and be confident enough, that when you're in it and you absolutely _need_ to believe in yourself, she can pull it off. And she did. Big time!
Awesome! They should make a racing league entirely off of giant quads, not xclass, but quads as big as an Alta X! Zoe's skills are good.
