Thanks for doing this, Hal, I remember switching to linear a few months ago after watching you and I have improved so much. No cap, people hate or dick ride but honestly just watching a skilled professional makes any novice better and that's what you've done for me. I hope this video helps someone else improve at apex.

no ones hating or "dick riding" its just an objective fact that Aim assists is busted which is why 9 out of 10 top pros are now controller players

I watched Even’s video and decided to switch from 4.4 classic to 4.3 linear and definitely noticed the much more natural feel. Would definitely recommend.
I switched from alc to 4-3 linear. Made one clipping so much easier

@@snipernosniping_YT I’m doing 4-3 linear small dead and feel like the slight slower movement helps dramatically when tracking.
I rock the Chet ubetcha special, 3.3 classic, or 4.3 depending on preference.

Recently changed to Linear from ALC and it was worth it. Classic hinders your movements and practically controls your aiming 100%. ALC is inconsistent at times and require a lot of microadjusments but No deadzone linear feels free and still allows u to feel the aim assist but not fully controlled by it.

when i went to linear no deadzone, everything just constantly moves and i cant hold it steady. i don’t understand how it’s supposed to work and why would i want to get good with it

@@hitr7684 I try to play claw but whenever I do, I accidentally press the R2 button and I always melee unintentionally. I tried decreasing the sensitivity in apex but it’s still thesame. Is there a certain way I should place my fingers? Would appreciate if you could help. Also i can’t reach the Crouch button alot of times

that is why everytime i played on the stick the camera movements feel kinda off (i played on classic) it increases the speed as you are turning around

I basically went into ALC and made a 4.3 linear, except with a slightly increased yaw and tiny bit of deadzone to adjust for stick drift. It works fantastically well. The key is to remove the acceleration so turning is always consistent. It's why Hal prefers Linear over Classic.
What did you change yours to in ALC? I use 5 Deadzone, 2 OT, 4 RC, 130/100 ADS yaw/pitch
Currently using extra yaw at 250 with my normal yaw/pitch at 225 each to make for quicker turns when needed but maintains slow on target when facing them. But debating whether I go back to no acceleration given its does have its pros/cons
@@kd6-3.78 I’d lower the RC to one and try to get your dead zone lower = less recoil to control
@Saft lowest dead zone you can handle I use 3 deadzone like 250-250 yaw and pitch I use 100-100 extra for faster turning but it still locks on hip fire and 130-130 ads is beams I hit masters duo q every season with it
1-2-3 OT works I use 2-3 it just makes less you have to pull down but I would not go higher than 3

If you are going to move to controller I highly recommend looking at getting a controller with hall effect joysticks, this will help a lot with drift, they can still get drift but compared to a regular joystick it is night and day.
I recently picked up a Gamesir T4 Kaleid and I highly recommend it, I have my deadzone in Apex set to zero and get no drift whatsoever.

Thrustmaster's sticks center really well and are swappable, so it's actually possible to play without stick drift
plus gulikit with electromagnetic sticks with automatic drift compensation.
@@EradicationistI have gamesir G7 se and ps5 controller but my aiming on g7 se is so trash compares to ps5 controller
@@Decki777 try adding kontrolfreeks onto the g7 se to heighten the joysticks the more higher up you make the joystick the more accuracy based on more control of the radial area, I use a 9.9cm classic but they are discontinued I would recommend kontrolfreek's FPS Freek Inferno set which is 9.9cm the same as classic but with a texture, make sure the sticks are the same size as a ps5 controllers though first, and mess with gamesirs software they might have deadzones you need to adjust on the controller, you want to have outer deadzone maxxed out and inner deadzone pretty much off and it set to a curve you like you can make those controllers feel like ps5 controllers just takes time and good software I don't know about gamesirs though.

You can't use per optic without using alc, just 4-3
@@anonymousstoner7486you can, there’s a per optic setting for the default settings as well as ALC. but ofc the per optic in ALC has to be disabled for the default to take effect
I play controller exact same settings I’ve always used, but in my honest opinion always felt that mouse and key has always been better just kinda sad to see the switch. But other then that, keep up the good work. 👍🏻

alcs are more used by movement players because on alcs you can pretty much do anything to your sens and aiming. Its crazy what alcs can offer but it definitely isn't for everyone. But I agree when I don't use alcs I definitely play 4 3 linear. Hal knows best 💪

I was on these settings but with small deadzone, best CQB settings but i couldn't hit long range shots consistently, I made what I think is the best alc settings, long and close range beams

I have heard many people say that linear is the way, but I don't like it. I feel it is the same speed, no matter how much you pull the stick. I switch between classic and fine aim, depends on the day :)

Ok so I'm purely commenting on a movement based perspective when it comes to controllers. I'm struggling to perform certain mechanics like a super-jump for example without breaking my fingers to play claw. The speed of inputs to do that is ridiculous when holding a controller as intended. I can do it on claw but don't wish to play this way. I don't wanna use configs. This controllers button presses seem more responsive for inputs. advice?

Hey Hal, I just bought a PC and used to be an xbox guy. I want to still use controller but when i use my controller on the PC now it seems i get ZERO aim assist. Is there a setting i need to change where my PC recognizes im only using controller? Or is that just how it is if you use controller on PC? i copied my exact settings from the console and it seems very different
