I can't get over how good your memory is for the yarns and patterns for your socks. There's no way I could remember that many. LOL. I'm working on a summer tee that I'd love to enter into your KAL. I'll have to get a picture. When you were showing the shorty socks you made from the Sock Skein One Skein Wonder book it reminded me I have that book. I'm going to make those socks! They look perfect for the warmer weather.
Can't wait to see your tee! I forget about my books sometimes but there are some great patterns in there

HI Laura....in recent times, there seems to be an obsession with hand-knit socks! Sheer volume is making it very competitive to attract viiewers. I think you have a great presentation style....so don't blame yourself. Having said that, as a teacher we should always be looking for ways to change things up and have fun! I've just subscribed and liked your video....and I'll be back! :-)

I Love your videos and laid-back approach to your videos. Just be you and the followers will come. For me I love seeing yarn and projects, wips and fo's....your doing great. Background is important too. I love when you did videos with your wraps hanging on your wall or living room view. Hope this helps.

So enjoyed the podcasts and seeing all the socks you’ve knitted. I so want to be a sock knitter and I’m in fact knitting on my second pair of socks. First pair happened when we got stranded in Argentina when the pandemic hit. Actually reknit the one sock once we got back to our home in Ecuador 7 weeks later. My tension was a little too tight. 😬. Thank you for your podcast. That pink raccoon fabric is adorable.
Oh that's so great! I'm glad you had something to keep yourself busy while you were stranded - friends of ours got stuck in Peru and they said it was really hard!

A great collection of socks. I have noticed that I now have to hunt down my favourite knitting podcasts, on UA-cam, rather than them appearing in my feed (even though I subscribe and like)...I think its a UA-cam thing!!

I love your fiber cast or podcast(?). Covid restrictions have eased, my garden is in and my “sit, knit and you tube time” has decreased. I would assume others have the same situation. Don’t despair!!! I would love to join your KAL. I’m not sure if my summer knitting qualifies. I have devoted my spring and summer to finishing my WIPS . I have a shawl and socks I started in May on a road trip to Disney. Two languishing pairs of socks, one is just toes and the other had a broken DPN and I need to get a new one. I also have a hat and mitts color work I started in March and a pair of “Agatha” socks that I am struggling with(difficult lace and I’m a lefty) . I will be knitting all of the above all summer, at the beach, camping, and on road trips. Hope to finish them by August 15th so I can finish 2 sweaters by September 15 I started and then I can cast on a new sweater I’m dying to knit.

Your videos are my favorite. You are so intuitive about socks and knitting! And you have such a calming presence, I never get stressed out by your videos! I was wondering if you know where or how to go about getting the faded "How I roll" sock pattern. Ravelry shows it as no longer available. I would love to learn how to fade like that but I keep hitting a wall with finding the pattern. Thanks so much for your help!
Aww thank you that's such a nice thing to say - I had a dig around, and it looks as though all the orangeknits patterns have been taken down. Too bad because that pattern really did have the best fade instructions

Don't get discouraged with the dip or plateau....I think alot of knit people are doing their gardens and out door stuff. There are people reconnecting too with lockdowns being lifted it will pick up again. Hang in there😊 I am doing a summer top bt Caitlin Hunter in cotton. I will try to post in the KAL. Never miss an episode. The 9 inch takes some getting used to but I find them faster.

Your socks are awesome. I'm knitting on the Dubai Socks by Mina Philipp in one of the Be a Freaking Unicorn colourways as I listen. There are just so many KALs and MALs, don't feel bad. When you announced yours I thought Well, I'm not going on vacay, there are travel restrictions, and I'm not really knitting on a summer garment so my projects just didn't fit in. Maybe now that restrictions are somewhat lifted, your fans will take weekend getaways:) Btw I got your wonderful roller skate bag a short time ago and I cannot wait for an in person knit group so I can show it off!

the 2 color ribbing socks... I'm knitting socks with 2 color ribbing as well and I went up a needle size for this section bc they do come out too tight :))

hi from Australia, just stumbled across you today, I love all your socks they are beautiful. just wondering, you said that you swapped from 2.5mm needles to 2.25mm needles, do you know what guage you actually get on both needles?. I'm jumping between those sizes as well but i don't seem to be able to hit guage of most patterns with the 2.25 but am finding that our socks are wearing holes in the 2.5mm quicker (we are tough on our socks they are either in farm boots or just socks on slate floors inside the house)

I'm enjoying watching your Vlog, but I don't post on Instagram. It's interesting the way you fold your socks. I just fold mine in half (toe to cuff top) and do two rows of socks/drawer. I wonder which way would allow you to store more socks/drawer.
I fold mine into thirds just cause it fits my storage best😊
Just started knitting socks this summer and knitted cotton shorties. Besides tennis shoes, what kind of shoes do people wear with their socks. Do you have to increase the size of the shoe to accommodate the sock. Would love to see a podcast of shoes and socks.
I just wear mine with my normal shoes, usually blundstones or some sort of boots in the winter
One suggestion that I saw on another podcast for hearing impaired persons when showing the yarn and or finished objects show it and than move it away so they can see your face and read your lips when you talk about it. Not sure if that helps. You mentioned having slight problem with the 9” have you tried the HiyaHiya Flyers. I don’t like the 9” but love the HiyaHiya 8”.

Hi just curious if you’ve ever tried to knit socks two at a time cuff down or toe up? It helps with second sock syndrome. I really enjoy your podcast.
I do sometimes knit TAAT, but I find the project feels bulky and less portable (for me). So I generally prefer knitting one ar a time🙂
Please Please Please ... I would like more information on your anklets "How I Roll." Orange Knits? Is that correct? I would like more information on the color fade which you spoke about. Your socks are fabulous!
That's right! I didn't menton the yarn because it was dyed by a dyer that is no longer making yarn. It was a mini set of speckled yarns that went from green to orangey pink to purple. Hope this helps!

I used the increases from the Little Cable Knee High pattern by Purl Soho (free pattern!)
Don't be discouraged! I keep meaning to get a picture of me knitting in my backyard swing chair and forgetting. It was 107°f today so it's gonna be a few days before I brave the backyard again but I will do my best to remember!

I always watch, wouldn't dream of missing. I'm a fellow Podcaster and find that numbers are all over the place so it's not just you. Just wanted to let you know. I didn't enter my items because nothing I am doing is summer related and I can't go anywhere (ontario here) to knit anywhere different lol. Hugs your way, I'm sure it's just a glitch! You're fantastic, don't change a thing. Love your DK socks, do you follow a certain pattern? I heard 3.75mm and 44 sts I guess I can go from there though ;) still new at socks. Oh I also notice when I do longer videos I get more views, really weird right? Not sure why but I am thinking it's because people want longer ones to put on their TV them they don't have to switch every 20-30 minutes, but that could be just me lol. Loved when I seen yours was 48 minutes this time! Yay! More time with you 💙 was the to the max yarn Co coloyr called cigar? Omg I'm soooo enjoying your "sock parade!" Learning soooo much AND you're inspiring me to cast on ALL the socks! I have my first self striping hand dyed to try. It's a treat and I need to find the perfect pattern for it. Maybe even 2 pairs of shorties since you said everyone needs shorty socks lol!
Okay that's good to know! Yup 44sts on 3.75mm. I have a sock "recipe" memorized, but I'm sure you could find a pattern online if you aren't sure about the heel turn, etc
