Taylor said that This Love was originally a poem she was writing just for fun and then she ended up putting it into a song! Also, if you listen closely to I Know Places the very beginning and end you hear a click sound which indicates that the whole time they were actually being recorded and not hidden.

@@Luscent ALL of the Grammy Museum Performances are Chef's Kiss AMAZING!! I think it was a point when a good amount of people started to look at Taylor and think she might actually be able to sing...? (Which is sooooo silly!!) She has SUCH a talent and has always been able to sing. I love her early voice and what she's matured into. Been a fan since day #1 when I heard Tim McGraw on the radio. If you're willing to look into her live performances, I'm sure we could come up with a list of video's for you! There are probably about a dozen that are worth your time and attention :)
Fun Fact: "I wish you would" was Taylor's response to H.S.
In an interview I think or maybe in the 1989 secret session, she said that she had this ex and they kind of become friends after the break up and they had a talk of what happened and why it did not work out and stuff. He [Harry] told Taylor that he purposely bought a house that was adjacent to her Street and will accidentally turn to her Street just to see her house (I think) and wanting to stop by but he never did.

I recommend u check out the deluxe version of the album, has 3 extra tracks just as good as the main album. Although there are songs on here about love, theyre not necessarily about a real relationship, there r 2 or so about harry styles but the others not really, like 'this love" and "wildest dreams" (cuz at the time, she wasnt actually dating anyone). Thematically, the album is mainly about freedom and independence and finding romance in being alone, etc. Musically the album has a nostalgic vibe, it is basically 80s synth pop modernized with taylor's signature style, she also used polaroids for its aesthetics to emphasize that.
Ah yeah I love that! I love when albums feel like one complete piece of art
So sad the bonus tracks aren't here they're some of the best songs on the album. (I know you did New Romantics haha, that's one of my all time favorite songs!)
There are rumors Taylor is re-recording her Red album right now... which should include the 10 min explicit version of All To Well. Definitely react to the re-recordings! Can’t wait for them to come out 😍

Ok, now that I have time... once again I relate to sooo much of this reaction. Especially for Out of the Woods! That song means soooo much to me. The first time I heard it for real, I was at the gym, and almost started crying in front of everyone! It's my favorite Taylor Swift song, not too many lyrics, but so perfectly concise and really pack strong emotional punch. And the actual music and arrangement just makes it hit harder (thank u Jack Antonoff). I have the words "the monsters turned out to be just trees" tattoed on my left arm.

This was the Harry Styles album!!!!!!! It's part of why I loved it so much when it came out. Taylor mentions details about their relationship on Style, Out of the Woods, I Wish You Would, and she mentions green eyes in Wonderland, one of the bonus songs

The whole album (minus bad blood, blank space, and shake it off) is about harry styles. Their relationship was famously back and forth. So this love was when they were on again.
Bad Blood is about Katy Perry.. and katy Perry also wrote "Swish Swish" about TS. After when they had the beef.. They now became very good friends again!
You should check out the "Bad Blood" collab with Kendrick-he totally makes the song! I agree with you on Bad Blood, overall. I think it's kind of ho-hum, despite loving Taylor's music. But Kendrick just makes it way more catchy and his rap is a really good addition, so I feel like that remix is the best one. :)

In clean she's actually saying 'the drought' not the drive. She's comparing getting out of the relationship to getting out of the addiction (that's why she uses words like clean, ten months sober etc.). It's my favourite song of her. Most of the love songs are about Harry Styles, definitely style (hair slicked back and white t-shirt), I know places (the media were following them everywhere) and out of the woods - the car crash was real, it was when they went skiing and they got into accident and Harry landed in hospital, he had 20 stitches. ;)

So sad you didn't do the deluxe tracks bc You Are In Love in my opinion is one of the best songs on 1989. It's a more mature version of Mine. You might consider doing singles not on any of her Albums like Safe & Sound and Eyes Open from The Hunger Games or Beautiful Ghost from Cats

This is an album, you know her finding true love during the LOWEST POINT in her life, (Her reputation was so bad that time) IF YOU base it on the ALBUM title, some songs addressed the drama but most are just love songs :)

taylor met joe during reputation actually! 1989 is mostly about her relationship with harry styles and her relationship being a superstar, being followed everywhere, being judged for her relationships, etc. rep is about her reputation (lol obviously), falling from being the media's darling and being villanized by them, but also about meeting joe through all of that.

I laughed out loud when you said the Out of the Woods' lyric about the accident had to be a metaphor. No, it's just that Harry Styles is a really bad driver, at least if Style and Out of the Woods are to be believed; there is also a reference to bad driving in another of the songs about Harry, Wonderland, that one seems more like a metaphor but maybe the lyric was put in there as a clue. Also AYHTDWS has a bad driving lyric but by the way Taylor talked about the person she wrote that song about I have a feeling that it wasn't about Harry, it sounded like an older relationship (my money is on Jake Gyllenhaal, it's also referenced he's a bad driver in All too well, the storyline fits with what we know of their relationship and how he wanted to get back with her after and it was a meaningful enough ex to have a dream about him even years later)

2014. My first year of college. My first Taylor drop. I became latched after this album. Up until Evermore this had my fave track five. I loved the Polaroid theme. I own 2 vinyls and the deluxe CD. I am unable to conceive 1989 (Taylor's Version)!!!!!
