I agree completely. All too well is just such a complete masterpiece. I love all of her songs and she's such a talented songwriter but all too well just hits that place in your heart that cuts through your entire being.
In my opinion my tears ricochet and this is me trying are the best written songs in folklore and also better than All Too Well, but it's still such a masterpiece.

I love the fact that the line that stuck out for you in All Too Well was "dance around the kitchen in the refrigerator light" because that has always been my favourite line! There are a million good lines in Taylor's discography, there are even a ton of good lines in All Too Well alone, but that one always stick out to me for some reason.

I love that in her recent album “Lover” she calls back to “Red”. In “Daylight” she says “I once believed love would be burning red/ but it’s golden” She has grown and matured and has learned what true love is with her current love, Joe Alwyn. She makes a lot of references to “gold” or “golden” when talking about him in her recent albums, “Reputation”, “Lover” and “folklore”. In “End Game”: “it’s like your eyes are liquor it’s like your body is gold” and in “invisible string”: “One single thread of gold tied me to you”

All Too Well is THAT BITCH! It’s Taylor at her highest of peaks and it deserves all the praise it constantly gets.
My favorite is State of Grace. It really encapsulates everything that you’re about to experience in the album. And also feels so euphoric but melancholy at the same time. Captures the excitement of beginning a the relationship, but also wistfully reflects back on a past special relationship. I adore this song. Top 5 Taylor Swift for me

I'm with you!!! There are some truly outstanding songs on all TS albums, but Reputation is my no-skip album.

It's funny I don't get that vibe. I get the vibe of I was ready for a relationship and you weren't, and we loved each other but it wasn't enough. She doesn't say things like, you mistreated me, or you lied to me, or you cheated on me, she says, you broke my heart because you were scared of how big and right our love was. She talks about John Mayer being abusive towards her. But towards Jake she seems to have a lot more bittersweetness than actual deep anger. "We both knew we had it and we both know you weren't ready for it", to me is like, light years of difference to "you gaslighted and emotionally abused me."

Jake didn't make Taylor a priority in his life, which, in a relationship, is important. Take "The Moment I Knew" - if your SO promised they would be there for you for an important event (like your birthday!), and didn't even bother to text you if they couldn't make it, that shows that they weren't even concerned about disappointing you and hurting your feelings. It's not being mean, it's just callous.

@@Luscent same, and I think what makes it even more special is that initially taylor didn't like to perform it live because she associated it with the heartbreak evident in the song but the fans made the song their anthem and eventually taylor started associating the song with the fans instead of the heartbreak and it's now a happy song for her.

I’d suggest going for the pop albums first. And if you can read up on the context surrounding reputation before (the whole Kanye West debacle, and the world turning on her basically), it might enhance the experience, but it’s still an amazing pop album regardless.
After that go back to her country albums. Speak Now especially has fantastic songs and lyrics, and she wrote every single song on that album alone. No co-writers. I especially love Long Live, Haunted, Ours, and Enchanted.

We all react to ATW like you did, even now. You still need to react to Reputation tho. Red, I feel like it's the staple album that you must react to bc this truly was a bridge for her, musically and lyrically. It's also has her best song for many of us (ATW) in terms of story telling. Nevertheless Reputation is another master piece of amazing production and great lyricism. So you should check it as well💕
