You can adjust the cruise control distance on the fly by pushing two buttons: Alt on the right hand and the Up / Down on the left hand.

My dad had the 2018 SX SE and toured most of Europe doing 13,000 miles and had no complaints. Rumour has it he hit 186mph with panniers and all 😉. Best bike he ever owned. Such a pleasure sitting down and watching a chops video

There was one of these sitting in the showroom waiting on a lucky new owner when I collected my 900RS. I spent a good 20mins drooling over it. What a truly beautiful machine it is in the flesh. If only I had the money and space for it...

I am 6’2.5” 210lbs so I am pleased the bike is suitable for you. Was wondering about wind buffeting on the helmet but you answered that.
I sold my BMW K1200S and bought a K1600GT but I lust for a lighter & more powerful ride. If my wife ever decides she doesn’t want to ride with me, I will get the H2 SX SE.

I did a 700 mile long weekend on my SE with bags recently. It was all country B roads and an absolute blast. The ability to sit up and left the cruise manage throttle and brake in the doldrums of traffic is a treat. The real win on this bike is it’s turbine smoothness. I don’t think you can stress how amazing the acceleration is while remaining so smooth. It has a unique perspective of FAST at ease. I know you keep mentioning this. It is so smooth that it’s become the character of this bike. Absolute power in an incredibly stealthy delivery. My RT wishes it was this smooth. It may be up for sale soon.

Couldn’t agree more regarding the engine, superb power plant… I’ve had all manner of motorcycles over a 40 year span, including Busa’s, Blade’s etc and the H2 is by far the smoothest and most exhilarating to ride👍🏽

As you say, this is for touring, you've actually got to go somewhere, and Kawasaki has dialled in that smoothness perfectly. Lucky for us that you had the rain to test the fairing. The electronic niggles, not being able to connect your phone, and the apparent impossibility to save personal settings for the cruise control seem to indicate immature electronics. You made the comment that the Multistrada V4S is more nimble. The weight difference is only 20kg, and I believe this, apart from more mature electronics, is Kawasaki's challenge; to lighten this bike despite all the tech in the next generation. That and adding self cancelling indicators. The SE's electronic Skyhook suspension, which I understand mainly keeps the bike level during acceleration and braking, and adjusts to more weight, only works in the Road Mode, not in Sport, or Rain, or Manual. Not sure it's worth it, but it would be interesting to hear your evaluation of that. In addition I've seen testers saying the rear damper on the H2 SX could be improved. So switching the rear damper for e g an Ohlins, is not possible on the SE as it would render the Skyhook ineffective. Part of the attraction of the H2SX are the panniers are certified for speeds up to 186mph. I've seen German riders saying the bike is totally relaxed and stable, up to 155 mph before the speed requires more attention. BTW, you state the MPG, but what was your average speed?

As someone who rides 15 years in Belgium with all kinds of.. you're talk and chats about the cycle and things around it including some deeper thoughts about for example holding in memory settings made me as a young lad interested in subscribing. Which I did.
You did hit all my thoughts around this bike and I will order one sooner or later when im done with construction.
I'm used to heavy bikes and i just like to have torque, a whistle, own servicing which i have fun things to tinker with (includes knowledge ofcourse), and a plush tour with some massive corners and roundabouts. Thanks alot Sir . No need for wheelies and godspeed, just some tickles now and then for me however. Cheers !

That mileage is very impressive considering the bikes weight and it's supercharged engine. I have a 19l tank too, I managed 160 miles, some of which were very fun ones, very little super sensible ones. I couldn't hear any fuel in the tank when I got home and checked by shaking the bike with the cap open, and that's a 900cc carbbed engine, so still pretty impressive.

Really good review. The swimming discussion reminded me of deploying into RAF Mildenhall one summer in the early 90's. Much hotter than normal, so a car full of us Yankee airmen decided to go to the coast and swim in the North Sea. Picked Great Yarmouth as the closest place to make that happen. About five miles from our destination, the seasons changed and we went from 80's F to cold and foggy as we got to the beach. Left the shorts and towels in the car and spent the day in coats. The locals paid it no mind. Might as well have been in Hawaii. Swimming, and general frolicking. We got drunk, visited the cheesiest amusements this side of Atlantic City and learned from our intrepid hosts that it was, in fact, possible to play Frisbee in a light gale.

Fabulous machine. And yes, I suspect 90% of GS riders would be far better off on this than their german road barge.
I understand why Kawasaki don't allow fiddling through menus while riding. Watching you stop and scroll through at the end, there, illustrates it is no different to a driver scrolling through a phone, let us be very honest. My bike has very little to scroll through by comparison, but there have been times it has distracted me ever so slightly from watching the road, and again let's be honest, on a bike you cannot really afford to be distracted for even a second.

I'm so glad that I didn't say anything about mine in the comments after episode 1 because you have come to all the same conclusions as me 👍
    Two things I must add....
1, Ride it like you stole it, and you'll be paying regular trips to pumps!! However when running the Beastie in, ( no more than 4000 rpm for the first 250 miles) the range regularly showed 270 miles after a fill up..... How do they do that???
    2) The cruise control works as slow as 19mph. You just have to down stift, 3rd will go down to 30mph any slower you need 2nd or 1st 👍 And happily, up or downshifting doesn't effect the cruise control 😉
    All the best Russ 👍

That Candy Green is a fabulous colour. I suppose this is a successor to the ZZR1400R, big, plush and mind bendingly rapid. 44.5mpg is very impressive given the performance. plenty of us get that when pressing on on humbler steeds. While I'm at it my mate has just put a deposit down on a Speed Triple RS. Many reviewers (usually race spec physique) complained it was too stiffly sprung but you said it was great. On that basis he tried one and was smitten. Turns out 20 stone or thereabouts does make a difference!

Sports tourers are my choice for a road bike. The H2 SX is a beaut but very expensive. It's great that it is very different because of that supercharger but I can't get by the cost myself. Personally I keep looking at that Super Duke GT for a one bike garage but really you need more bikes for all occasions. At least that's what I tell my Mavis.
If you want to test out the sport tourer / adventure bike argument you could seek out and test the VFR 800 and VFR 800 Crosstour (or the 1200s) to see which you prefer but as a Superbike School graduate I can probably guess the outcome.

I had the previous Gen SX SE, and from what I’ve read this isn’t different other than some electronics and a few bits and pieces here and there.
I’ve now got a Gen 3 Hayabusa and I’ll stick with that. This H2 is hugely expensive as the ‘base’ model and the one thing nobody ever talks about is servicing. At some point you’ll be hit with a very eye watering bill thanks to the supercharger (which doesn’t actually make it feel any quicker than any of the litre sports bikes I’ve had so.. why have it?). Nice bike for sure, but nah

Great video👍I had a 2019 H2SX,really great bike but I'm over 6ft and I found it comfortable for about an hours ride then I began to feel it on my wrists, the bike is amazing but I did feel it was too much on our roads, you really can't use all the power because I was always worried about get caught speeding because it is so deceptively fast,so I traded in for a versys 1000S,my fourth kawasaki, great comfortable bike and enough power for the road,I'm not flying around all the time, going for a ride is a more relaxed affair now😄glad though to have owned a H2SX👍enjoying your great videos LCR👍and I had three sets of rear wheel bearings changed ,one was a recal but the others, kawasaki changed free of charge because it was a known fault, have you had any problems with this? No it wasn't due to me having it on the back wheel alot😂

Nice review as ever😀 Question: I was wondering about this special jacket or vest you are wearing ?
Do you use it for comfort
or as some kind of protection?
Or for storing little items like a wallet for instance…?
And where did you get it from?
Keep up the good work and your infectious enthusiasm for riding motorcycles 💪Thx Chopsy

It's strange that you guys use the metric system for weight and fluid volume (kilos and liters)... but use miles for distance instead of kilometers. Good video, I've owned my 2022 H2SX SE for a little over a year (7k miles)... usually I'm thinking about what the next bike will be by now, but I'm still loving it. No interest in riding anything else.

The Hayabusa way more STABLE and planted when getting ridden hard, it is also very smooth in throttle and gearbox.
      I have a 22 H2SX.(traded in a ZX14R)
Had my 1st ever ride on a Busa when the dealership gave it to me for a loan bike while they fixed the recall issues on the H2.
I LOVED the Busa's handling and silky smoothness, but getting back on a Kwaka gets your blood pumping again🤪

Im used to the H2 SX style (Currently Ninja 1000 SX) and thought the Multistrada / BMW XR 1000 might be more comfortable but not sure about the riding position after a test ride on each. Any thoughts

Would you buy this or the 1290 super duke GT if you had to choose one? Looking at it from long distance comfort and enjoyment in the twisties point of view. Currently riding a 2011 multistrada 1200. I ride it like a sport bike, but it is not very inspiring to fully lean over, you don't really trust the bike when you do it.

This is great and I’m with you on the preference for sport touring over adventure bikes.
As for MPG, I have yet to see a frugal V4 yet, my VFR1200F gets about 38mpg on a sleepy commute, 34 with luggage on, >30 when abusing it.
