I am a student from Sakya Academy of Davao, A filipino student trying to learn chinese and this is the most educative channel that i've ever watched. As i've read the comments I saw many native chinese approve to this video and it is really clear as shown. Thank you sir!
I am a Malaysian-born Chinese living n Australia nearly all my life! My parents speak Fuzhou at home. Your mandarin is perfect, n easy to follow since I am non-Mandarin speaker (although in Malaysia we are mostly multilingual). I have subscribed. Thank you for the videos n teaching thru the UA-cam. So glad I found you!!
Really appreciate how you transcribed the language and gave us the literal Chinese format. It helps my brain better that way rather than the English translation. Wish more teachers of the Chinese language would translate that way.
You're great at making mandarin sound easy for learners. I found your videos a few months ago about pronunciation of tones, but i was far too new at the language to soak it in. My girlfriend is from Taiwan and i've gone through the effort to learn Zhuyin on my phone and all the sounds feel much more natural to me now. I wish there was more content to learn mandarin with the zhuyin system, but i understand traditional mandarin is far less used. I'm glad i get to learn pinyin from this awesome content though! I'll just have to learn mandarin with my partner saying "we use this word instead" haha. It's funny how different it can be sometimes
❤The most awesome thing about this video is that it gives both litteral and literature translation of Chinese, which is very helpful in perceiving the language concept!!!👍
Thins video alone has deepened my understanding of Chinese characters and the feelings behind why we use some of the phrases in Chinese! I've leveled up just by watching and I can't wait to start using these with my Chinese friends!
I really enjoyed this lesson! Thank you so much! Chinese is such an interesting language! I look forward to the day I will speak it with confidence and fluency. But the journey is long!
Thank you for your kind words! We're thrilled to hear you enjoyed the lesson and share your enthusiasm for learning Chinese. With consistent practice and dedication, you'll be speaking with confidence and fluency in no time. Keep up the great work, and enjoy the journey!
This is excellent. I used to watch only the native Chinese youtube videos to improve my Chinese. But, I must say I really like the way you explain some Chinese words - connecting, correlating and explaining how their meaning changes when combined with other words. Its a 5 star for me.
Hi Luke, As a subscriber of Mandarin Blueprint since last September, I was listening to this podcast and I remember on a previous podcast, you mentioned Dali as one of the most beautiful cities in China, I must agree as my wife is from Dali and although we live in Southern California, my in-laws still live there as well as we have real estate in Dali. In fact my wife and four year old daughter are there now during construction of our new house. I will be heading there in a couple of weeks and you're right, it is a very beautiful place and this lesson will be a good refresher as my Madarin is still not very good.
I am grateful for the videos MB has put out. If I were going to learn Chinese fully I would use the MB course first and foremost for sure. Thank you for the uploads.
I'm not a big drinker, but i am a line cook learning chinese, with the help of my chinese coworkwers. I'd love to watch more videos and learn about phrases you can use inside a kitchen! ❤ stuff like, "this is priority", or, "cut this", or, "cut straight". We all work in a pizza place and have a great vibe with all the nationalities that work together.
Also, "drain" and phrases that have to do with time, like, "90 seconds" or "3 minutes". Theres actually a bunch you covered already because its all so natural and can relate to kitchen work. Like "servers" ❤
Thanks, very well done . The phrases are very helpful if you are looking for something to talk about and respond to questions. One phrase I had to use frequently was Mei You Chen . Living on a fixed budget. I wish I had known a few more of these when I lived in tiawan for 2 years growing up
I love your training, i could follow up with you for 12 minutes, then i got tired. Not of you, but my mind will be digesting these learned so far. It's simply great, the way you put it. I will save it and watch it further til the end. Thank you! 🤍
All my study so far has been HSK1 and 2 syllabus. And i think i learnt more in this video than all the rest combined. Thank you so much. Appreciate your clear and concise teaching style.

jiāyōu is something we say in Germany as well, gib gas ..give gas..like to a car ..gib gas as in speed up add power :) … I’m just starting Chinese as my fourth language and I love discovering things like these similarities a lot…thank u for the amazing and helpful content

@@MandarinBlueprint You can tell. As I scan the UA-cam market place - the production quality and believability and authenticity of your videos stands out by a mile! Keep it up - I find all the content extremely useful and also quite inspiring (for a brand new language learner).
Your mandarin pronunciation is better than many native speakers. No kidding, many Chinese spoke mandarin with noticeable local accent. Your accent is less pronounced
Hi everyone. With regards to the 过 character, being an experience marker. What helped me remember it was this: Imagine you have a shopping list. Once you grab the item, what do you do? You tick it off. OR you ‘Cross’ it off. So the experience of you grabbing that item has been crossed off. You’ve done it! Imagery goes a long way with learning languages.
You mentioned drinking culture, I think to know a phrase to say that you don't drink would be useful (maybe even more so than a cheers to drinking) haha I can not drink much
@@k-chill8428 On the wagon? Thats interesting. Do you know where it comes from? In English if you are on the (band) wagon that means you are participating in a current popular activity. Haha
@@KeyasGingerBar Oh sorry, just to be clear I used "on the wagon" which is a UK English for abstaining. The Chinese doesn't translate to that - jie (戒) simply means to quit
Come on guy. I'm a native Chinese speaker, And can speak a bit of English. There is no problem for me to understand others In English. But in spoken language it's the other way around.😢 So it'll very honored and eager for me to find an English partner, Somebody just like you🎉。
Great lessons, xiexie. A great help understanding basic common Chinese phrases. I'm learning Chinese on Duolingo. It's difficult writing chinese words. How can I learn this easy way?
Can somebody give a hint about the Xiexie. I think it was in one of the videos where people explain cultural differences between the West and China, it was pointed out that in China it's rather seen as a bit impolite if you say "thank you", because it suggests that helping each other isn't the default. It actually makes sense to me. And also a friend who worked in China for several months confirmed this. However, i watch a lot of China travel vlogs and there i often see Chinese people saying Xiexie, too. So now i don't know, how accurate the above claim is. Maybe it's more like a regional thing if Xiexie is seen as polite or in contrary impolite? Or maybe they wouldn't say Xiexie to other Chinese, but they use it because they know that those Western tourists want to hear it? Or does it depend on who you talk to, if it's friends, family, colleagues?
It's a white lie, just to get closer. In fact, no one doesn't like to hear thanks, and it's no different in China. Some Chinese express dissatisfaction after hearing the thanks, but most of the time they pretend to do so. If you take it seriously and stop expressing gratitude in the future, they are likely to get angry instead. It's a bit hypocritical, but usually not malicious. There are more extreme cases. Close friends can also express intimacy in rude or even cursing at each other, but this phenomenon is not common. My advice is to always express gratitude, because the Chinese often say that "礼多人不怪" (politeness is always welcome).
That can't be right; it might possibly be true in the wild west world of pre-economic-boom China, but you'll struggle to find any Gen-X'ers agree with you on that. Saying 谢谢 is still very common and polite in modern Chinese society. One possibility is that perhaps this is talking about immediate family members. I can think of situations where it's extremely strange to thank a parent or sibling, but it is not always absolutely the case; sincere thanks to family members in certain situations is still possible, though less common than with other people. Another possibility is using a different tone of voice - note that this "tone" isn't the tones for pinyin - you can say 谢谢 in an insincere tone and it would be interpreted as sarcastic. But this again, isn't culturally specific to China, and you can do exactly the same for English by saying "thank you" in a deadpan voice while rolling your eyes.
Hey there , You are most welcome and Thanks for watching! We actually cover this in our course . You can learn more about it here : www.mandarinblueprint.com/buy-the-blueprint/

Glad you think so :)
Thank you for your support! We are glad to have you here
Really appreciate how you transcribed the language and gave us the literal Chinese format. It helps my brain better that way rather than the English translation. Wish more teachers of the Chinese language would translate that way.
Thank you for your kind words. We Truly appreciate it
The way you break these characters down and explain it is so helpful. Thank you so much. You’re amazing

Glad we could help :) and Let us know if you need help during your studies
❤The most awesome thing about this video is that it gives both litteral and literature translation of Chinese, which is very helpful in perceiving the language concept!!!👍

Thins video alone has deepened my understanding of Chinese characters and the feelings behind why we use some of the phrases in Chinese! I've leveled up just by watching and I can't wait to start using these with my Chinese friends!

This is excellent. I used to watch only the native Chinese youtube videos to improve my Chinese. But, I must say I really like the way you explain some Chinese words - connecting, correlating and explaining how their meaning changes when combined with other words. Its a 5 star for me.
We're happy you enjoyed the video!
Might see you there soon!
Thanks

Thank you for sharing!

You mentioned drinking culture, I think to know a phrase to say that you don't drink would be useful (maybe even more so than a cheers to drinking) haha I can not drink much
wo bu he jiu (I don't drink alcohol) or wo jie jiu le (I'm on the wagon)
@@k-chill8428 On the wagon? Thats interesting. Do you know where it comes from? In English if you are on the (band) wagon that means you are participating in a current popular activity. Haha
@@KeyasGingerBar Oh sorry, just to be clear I used "on the wagon" which is a UK English for abstaining. The Chinese doesn't translate to that - jie (戒) simply means to quit
