I work in a store and sometimes we have Chinese customers. I always stick nearby to try to listen to the their conversations. One day I will be brave enough to say something! xD

When my Chinese was worse than bad, I dared to talk to Chinese a lot more than now. It was fun, it was always a nice experience. Now that I speak Chinese much better, I'm also much more insecure, I don't know why, and I only encourage myself to speak Chinese with people I know.

I have been studying Chinese characters very seriously for about 2 months now. I've learned hundreds of characters, but can BARELY string together a SIMPLE sentence in real time! I was hoping to find common phrases already put together (with audio) that I could memorize so I don't have to overthink what I'm saying. This video is literally perfect! 谢谢你!

Maybe at the end it is better for you to give summary by repeating and showing ALL the sentences again, 3 sentences in every screen, complete with pinyin and english and your beautiful voice reading them and translate them but with little or no explanation.

you need to match the words from english to chinese or vice versa. this would be a big improvement. otherwise the student is left to guess at it and ends up missing valuable learning. Other video's do this and it helps the learning process. the concept of "most common phrases" is a good one.

I live in China. A girl found me online and added me on WeChat. I chatted with her for several months but never anything in-depth. She finally suggested that we have dinner together. So, I agreed. She wanted to eat off of my plate. We were at a restaurant owned by another American. I didn't eat off of her plate as I felt it was rude. She ended up eating all of her food and nearly half of mine. Then, she started criticizing my weight. I'm a bit overweight but certainly not obese. I felt her criticism was rude and quickly knew that I wouldn't be having dinner again (ever) with her. She continued to contact me and continued to talk about my weight. The truth was, she was a bit overweight herself. I finally told her that she could quit worrying about my weight because there was zero chance that we would ever see each again. She said that she'd bought a new dress to wear the next time she saw me and now, she had no use for it. I told her that she'd figure out somewhere to wear it. I honestly think that she wanted me to pay for it which was never going to happen. Weird situation.

I’ve made many videos teaching Chinese in a self-proclaimed humorous way.
About 3000 Chinese characters cover 99% characters in newspapers and books. From my previous videos you can learn about 400 common characters.
There are about 120 commonly used Chinese character radicals. From my previous videos, you can learn about 80 basic radicals.
I’ve spent about 100,000 hours studying English humor and Western culture, and many years studying Chinese culture and jokes. My native language is Chinese.

I watched Rush Hour in Taiwan. Chris Tucker's character met an old friend and said "Hey, man! What's up? How's it going?" The subtitles said 你好. Later Jacky Chan's character met an elderly man who said "How do you do? It's nice to meet you." Again, the subtitles said 你好.

And God will do something amazing in your life. Unexplainable peace will come into your life. The Word of God promises you peace which surpasseth all understanding.
