They adopted this guy, took care of him, raised him well, and in return, he murders them to become a millionaire. What a POS. And to see Jackie get a sweetheart deal like that when it's obvious she was a cosigner.
Out of the estimated 500 serial killers in the states, 16% are adopted and 90% underwent childhood trauma, fostered, abused or similar. If you take a child away from their heritage and sometimes directly ftom an unwilling birth mother; you get what you get. . . Don't advocate adoptees to be grateful for being removed from their origins. Madness. However much physical comfort they are given, it's almost never enough and often damaging for the triad involved. Grateful? Never.
they didnt raise him well, that much is obvious, parents if you re giving your kid 30k to go play in the market at like 18... i can see already how entitled and spoiled he was raised add that to the fact he was a pos and you get a murdering pos
This is a very common uneducated way of thinking about adoption, they gave him everything, only positive opportunities right? It’s a 1/2 truth, the other side is adoptees lose everything, their mom, dad, family history, original birth certificate, real name, culture, people that share the same genetics, looks, personality traits, but adoptees are lucky and ungrateful right? Google the 7 core issues on adoption, all adoptees have these, then are told to be grateful. Education is important before speaking on things.
Him saying something like that, is just a manipulative tactic he’s trying to pull on his mother. Trying to play her heart strings/emotions/maternal instinct to abscond from accountability and in hopes he can play off her new found loneliness to get what he wants from her. What an arrogant twat.

That's so many cases right there, and those laws need to change so that bad people can't get away with their crimes just because a sexist system treats them differently.
Agreed. But I also love how bitter it made Nick in that jailhouse interview. He tries to act like he regrets what he did, but mostly he just whines that she got away with it.

You keep to the facts, with little inserts of your own opinions but it is always so well balanced. I look forward to your videos every single week. Thank you for all you do. You're wonderful.
Sadly, that's the risk of adoption sometimes. Even one's own natural children rebel and try to distance themselves from their parents once they hit their late teens to early 20s. So if you have the misfortune of adopting a child with a psychopathic brain, and they get older and rebel, they may go as far as starting to regard you as a stranger with no blood ties to them, who is simply there to be used or worse, such as in this case
We dont know at whaT age he was adopted. He has a tinge of an accent. He might have lived ywars with abuse and neglect and attachment doaprders are common in these situations. It is actually not possible for USA citizens to adopt from russia any more becUse too many children are returned there, rejected as too hard, when leiple shd be aware theyre getting high and special needs childten who need aulport and counselling... and they dont get it! Just guilt ridden adoptove parents showering them with money and trying to ease over things to stop the fights and explosive rage or the guilt trips
POS son who leaves a trail of wreckage in his wake. Sentence is ridiculous. 35 years for premeditated? They all should have gotten 30 yrs for murdering the poor dog.
We are addicted to several True Crime You Tube shows. That Chapter is heads and tails above all the rest. The reason is Mike. He's a natural story teller.
The call from mom to Nick was the giveaway. My son would have been panicking at the sound of my voice not saying “what mom?”, and “did you return fire?” Far too weird reactions from a loving son.
I agree ! 💯 The mother reacted exactly like a woman who had murdered her husband and pretended she was innocent . The mother wasn’t crying at all and sounded like she forgot her lines . I wonder when she tried to recover the million $ insurance money . Also Nick asking his mum if she fired back was like he was prompting her. If Nick wanted her dead , then she would have been . (He’d know she had a gun at hand )
Nick doesn't regret doing it. He regrets that he got caught. Jackie getting off with only 2 days every year on the anniversary is crazy sentence. The whole situation is so sad. The adopted him, showed him love and gave him a great life and this is how he says thank you.
And his mother Corey has absolutely nothing to do with him now. I believe she hates him now listening to her talk about it. He said he plead guilty partly to prove to her that he’s taking accountability. I believe he plead guilty to avoid life without parole. Corey loved him. They adopted him when they discovered that Corey could not have children. He was adopted at birth and Corey poured into him…maybe a little too much because he became an arrogant, spoiled rich kid. Corey was devastated that her own son that she was so thankful for robbed her of being able to grow old with the love of her life. She despises him now…and rightly so. He is a monster.
I was born in Russia, too. I don’t like how some media portrays adopted children as not real children; as if their status makes them lesser. They feel the need to use the word adopted too much. We don’t say “the natural child” or “the birthed child”. I also hate getting asked “do you know your real parents?” in reference to my birth parents. My real parents are the couple who raised me and loved me when the other ones didn’t want me. Nothing to do with the video. The son is awful. They lovingly chose him to be their son, but he chose money over them.
It's because they think money makes everything happen. And in this case, it did. The son was able to wrangle in that many people, including his girlfriend, because they all cared more about the money than the lives of two good people and their sweet dogs. Scary how many people out there who are a paycheck away from committing mankind's worst evils.
No one gonna mention how he tried to throw his friend under the bus, and talked down about him to the police? One more crime committed by one more narcissist.
Wow Nicholas and Jackie looked like brother and sister.Way to show us love and appreciation for them adopting him and giving him a privileged loving life.😞
I was looking for this comment in hopes I wasn’t the only one who thought they looked incredibly similar 😂🤣 They could EASILY pass for each other with a simple wig or scissors. Is that like a narcissistic trait, being attracted to your mirror image 🤔😅
It’s a sentence passed by a judge who is incapable of understanding that some people have no capacity for guilt or empathy. The judge likely thought this would cause her pain as she thought of the man whose life ended, in reality, she likely felt nothing.
No matter what the plea deal played out. Corey and Ted did not get full justice from Jaclyn. How many have gone to prison for something they didn't do. She did take part in the conspiracy, thereby (IMO) she should have gotten more than just 2 days out of the year. She is still alive, Ted is not and Corey is missing her loved one. Seems more like a boner plea deal than a sweetheart one.
I was adopted and my dad died last year unexpectedly. That guy saying “you’re going to think about it for $100,000” made me violently ill. Cause I’d pay 5xs that to have my dad back
“Did she return fire?” 🤨 That is a really bizarre question for him to ask at that time, I think. I hope that set off alarm bells to the investigators immediately. I’m only a few minutes in to the video, but I had to remark on that remark.
He just wanted to know if she shot someone who they could link to him. The motives of killers are pretty simple and obvious when they say things we would find bizarre.
2 days in county jail. For 10 years. That is a really novel sentence. First I've heard of it. It takes almost a day to process intake and then almost anothet whole day to process release... So weird.
It doesn’t take an entire day to be released. It’s a few hours max and I’ve been to the BIGGEST and busiest county jail in the US, the LA county jail (California). I’ve also been in the Maricopa County jail (Arizona) and the Broward County Jail (Florida) and those are 3 of the biggest jails in the US. Never taken me more than 3-4 hours to be released. I will say I’ve sat for 4 days in booking to be processed in though but that was in LA county. Awful place. But any other jail I’ve been in was usually a few hours or a day maximum to do intake. This is just my experience though. I’ve also been sober 9+ years now and things could be different nowadays. I haven’t been to any jail since 2012. Either way, this judge should definitely be disbarred. This is the most insulting sentence I’ve ever heard of. No justice done in my opinion when it came to her. 😢
I love how as an homage to his long time followers he plays the life insurance song with barely any words in the clip cuz we already know what the first beat means
To me it was immediately suspicious when the son said “…did you return fire?” on that call. Maybe I’m wrong, but that doesn’t seem like something you would naturally say in that situation. It made him seem like someone who already knew about the shooting, but was still in shock that it had been a full on shootout, and so he was hung up on that.
This case blows my mind… I feel so bad for the spouse. You could hear the raw emotion of shock and grief when she told her son what had just happened. You can also hear what a terrible actor the “child” was.
This is my favourite format of video! A comprehensive dive into a story, a life insurance dance, lots of background information and Mike's fantastic commentary. Another beautifully crafted video Mike, eternally grateful for your storytelling!
😂 I absolutely love your life insurance clips... 😂 Your reactions and characteristics are Awesome and I thank ya kindly for all that you do. I hope ya have kids one day because the World needs more folks like you. God bless you Mike 😊😊😊
Let's remember the mother's panicked, chaotic speech patterns next time we hear a suspect's emergency call and judge them guilty because obviously they're over-dramatizing. Sometimes grief is almost or actually wordless, but sometimes it tumbles out at high speed. People are complicated one at a time, let alone in comparison to one another.
Exactly. Could there be anything more dramatic to happen in a person’s life? There’s no way to know how you’d react in that situation until you’re in it.
I found my mom dead on the couch last July and let me tell you I remember I was sobbing and SCREAMING. Not speaking loudly, screaming. That’s why I hate when people say oh guilty bc too dramatic on the 911 call! They’d probably judge me guilty based on my call. It’s not right to decide if someone is guilty or innocent based on the call when someone finds a loved one dead. Most people are probably lucky enough to not have to go through that so they DEFINITELY don’t know how varied and intense and just soul crushingly devastating it is. And yeah that’s all I remember about the call or to be honest that whole night and the next few days. That shit traumatizes you.
Seriously. 100k is not even remotely worth it. I can't think of any amount of money that would be worth it. Something more important might convince me, but never *MONEY.* People are so messed up.
its so weird 911 calls are made public. That is probably the most vulnerable and scary moment of your life and you have people like this guy just playing it for hundreds of thousands of people
Love ya Mike, and really appreciate the work you do. Like many people say, you’ve become some sort of a friend! A familiar voice at the end of a long day kind of thing. Thanks buddy.
@dtroystopper2 the main theme of these videos are humans doing horrific things to other humans. But dogs are innocent bystanders to the human folly. Not disregarding the victims but in my heart in just extra hurt for the fur baby.
You can tell that Nick is a psychopath, i mean, the way he behaves in front of the news cameras and when he was interviewed by the detectives, just wired, nonchalant, no feelings,. His girlfriend should've been locked up too for decades , she was in on it.
This is the craziest video, I met the owner of the jewelry store, he made my wife's engagement ring like 2 months before all this happened, I had no idea!
what a horrible ending and betrayal. It never gets old seeing how stupid people think they can get away with murder no matter how they plan it. They will eventually get caught. I hope the daughter in law gets her karma too. She should be worried about having kids like her, or her husband. Thank you Mike another great story telling.
WTF kind of sentence is that for Nick’s wife?!? Is that for real…every year on the anniversary she must spend 2 days in jail?!?! Did I hear that right? She was an accomplice, plain and simple, and in any other case I’ve heard of, she would have been sentenced as such. I feel for Ted’s wife. Not only did she lose her husband, but she also lost the son she loved. What a horrible thing for the son to have done. Even his sentence seems a little light considering.
You can see from the vid that she’s telling the police about Nick. So without her confession , they wouldn’t have been able to prove fully in court that Nick was behind the murders in court . The police and the prosecution wanted to guarantee Nick’s conviction , so let her off lightly .
35 years only for each? Jackie released? Ridiculous justice! Weak weak weak prosecution. Arian deserves a really short sentence. He was genuinely remorseful and shocked.

That's so many cases right there, and those laws need to change so that bad people can't get away with their crimes just because a sexist system treats them differently.

I feel so bad for the parents. Imagine bringing home an innocent baby boy, not knowing in a short time he'll attempt to end your life.
@HumanimalChannel why would the adoptive parents be "guilt ridden"? They did nothing but open their lives and hearts to a child.

The call from mom to Nick was the giveaway. My son would have been panicking at the sound of my voice not saying “what mom?”, and “did you return fire?” Far too weird reactions from a loving son.
The mom's acting seemed fake AF too.
@@cherrymetha3185??

Nick doesn't regret doing it. He regrets that he got caught. Jackie getting off with only 2 days every year on the anniversary is crazy sentence. The whole situation is so sad. The adopted him, showed him love and gave him a great life and this is how he says thank you.
Best life insurance montage ever. 😂😂😂😂😂
White privilege. Not uncommon for these ppl… # UsualSuspects
NEVER stop doing the Life Insurance montage. It's the best!
I will never understand people who just ask a ton of people to do a job like this.
Its mental that they dont think that will somehow come back up.
It's because they think money makes everything happen. And in this case, it did. The son was able to wrangle in that many people, including his girlfriend, because they all cared more about the money than the lives of two good people and their sweet dogs.
Scary how many people out there who are a paycheck away from committing mankind's worst evils.
His a stupid man. He was sloppy and evil as well.
Mike, the tone of your voice and the rhythm of your speech is comforting to me. And
I love you
No one gonna mention how he tried to throw his friend under the bus, and talked down about him to the police? One more crime committed by one more narcissist.
It was stupid really, his mate then tells the cops that he had asked him to murder the parents. Why bring attention to the guy 🤷♀️
I don't know how there's a recording of the call to the adopted son right after the shooting but hearing the panic in her voice is heartbreaking
She mentioned the cops telling her to make a call. Perhaps they were already monitoring?
You’re right that it does seem odd though 🤔
Not odd if she's using the officer's/ 'people's' phone.
Who writes a check for hiring a murderer? That’s just dumb! 💜💜
Of course, and accepting one ain't real swift either. These people aren't the sharpest knives in the drawer.
Jerry Springer wrote a check for a hooker back when he was a politician.
There’s an Aggie joke in there somewhere.
Hey, you can avoid service fees with a check, and Joe Biden says junk fees are really really really bad!
And who still writes checks?
The 2 days in jail on the anniversary of the crime for 10 years is a really, really weird sentence.
It’s a sentence passed by a judge who is incapable of understanding that some people have no capacity for guilt or empathy. The judge likely thought this would cause her pain as she thought of the man whose life ended, in reality, she likely felt nothing.
it's called a sweetheart sentence basically.
In a way I like it but it should be every year forever.
Thanks
I am so very sorry for this man’s family!!

Yea I just got past that part. That was quite strange, honestly the entire exchange was.
He just wanted to know if she shot someone who they could link to him. The motives of killers are pretty simple and obvious when they say things we would find bizarre.
@@madsdee7803 Yeah, it makes perfect sense to us since we know who the culprit is before watching the video.

2 days in county jail. For 10 years. That is a really novel sentence. First I've heard of it. It takes almost a day to process intake and then almost anothet whole day to process release... So weird.
Judge should be disbarred.

Seen this case before, but had to see this take.
Yeah, I wonder if he was worried that one of the shooters was injured/dead (caught) and his plan would be ruined.

I presumed it was adrenalin and shock causing her to stutter?
He was guilty when he said to her did you return fire. How did he even know she took out her gun?

WTF kind of sentence is that for Nick’s wife?!? Is that for real…every year on the anniversary she must spend 2 days in jail?!?! Did I hear that right? She was an accomplice, plain and simple, and in any other case I’ve heard of, she would have been sentenced as such. I feel for Ted’s wife. Not only did she lose her husband, but she also lost the son she loved. What a horrible thing for the son to have done. Even his sentence seems a little light considering.
Clearly the patriarchy made her do it so they had to let her off easy.
so bizarre. she comes off as the instigator with that empty bank account.
For real. It's more like a symbolic prison sentence. "And every 3 years, you must take a moment of silence for Ted". Insane.
And the dog. They killed her dog too!! She lost everyone.
You can see from the vid that she’s telling the police about Nick. So without her confession , they wouldn’t have been able to prove fully in court that Nick was behind the murders in court . The police and the prosecution wanted to guarantee Nick’s conviction , so let her off lightly .
Corey, that call was so heartbreaking!
