You will at some point need to open the Lux TX9600 in order to replace the two AA batteries. Learn how to open it, get to the batteries and reinstall it in minutes.
Deborah, so happy to hear this video empowered you. For me it is always a great feeling when I accomplish something new. Glad the video helped out. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for this video, would be even better to mention right off the bat that you have to hold onto the faceplate to keep it from falling…instead of at the end of the description of how to remove. Most folks are probably doing this in real time. Glad nothing broke.
Thanks for posting this video. I have three of these thermostats and have always dreaded changing the battery. After watching your video it took seconds to change all three. Thanks for saving me time and frustration.
For something that needs it battery replaced on a regular basis you would think they would have made it easier. Thank you for taking the time to comment.
Wonderful.. My landlady is out of town so I needed to do this myself. Your instructions are perfect, no problems and I have heat! Thanks for your video.
Thanks for the info. I had a heck of a time trying to open mine to install following the enclosed instructions. They mentioned pushing on the bottom indent which I kept trying to no avail. Then your video allowed me to open mine by using the top tabs instead of the bottom indent.
Thank you, You Tube. Battery went dead in my thermostat just as I was going to bed at midnight. I followed your instructions and was able to get new batteries installed and the heat is now working.
Thanks. I couldn't do it but my dtr could. She was frustrated by it and angrily twisted. Didn't help either that the thermostat is mounted in a stupid place.
The Hardware Reset button (labeled “HW RST”) is located towards the right side of the circuit board, just below the battery holder. The Software Reset button (labeled “SW RST”) is located towards the right side of the circuit board, just below the battery holder.
Thank u why have they made it so hard.? Only improvement would be to add the term same hand and other hand to ur description.. I wasn't sure if I was suppose to use other hand to twist it... But I'm exceptionally stupid about things like this.
This was very helpful! I could not find manual. Simple and to the point! Don't need furnace not working in Syracuse NY!
We occasionally lose power due to winter storms no fun in the cold. Glad to hear the video helped you out. Thanks for watching.
As a 73 yr old woman....I was so Excited to change my Battery just by listening to your Video..Thx! 👍😎

OMG much needed video...not even Lux website tells you how to remove the back. thank you!
Considering that sometime you will have to open it up to change the battery it strange how awkward it is. Thanks for the comment.

It as if the manufacture never tried using the device to see if it was user friendly. Thanks for your feedback.

These are a PITA to open.
Agree. Guess its the childproof version, but like RX caps difficult for adults too.
