Take this for what you think its worth.
    Im a b8.5 allroad owner (2014) 2.0 tfsi.
I had zero problems until about 120k (miles) when a motor mount went bad.
At 149k the water pump started leaking coolant.
Im at 151k now (and about to finally change the water pump) and the Audi side assist (which i never use) apparently doesnt work. I'm not sure when it failed..
I have been hard on this car.
I have done some 'mild racing' and had it off road many times.
I have hauled over 500lbs of stone and about 600lbs in bags of concrete.
I do perform all maintenance on time all the time except...the transmission fluid.
I was willing to sacrifice/test the trans as i can buy a low mileage replacement for 500/600 dollars.
Im glad to say, this car has been extremely good to us and has cost us less in repairs than our toyota highlander which has 45k less miles.

The 2.0tfsi is the best engine for the standard car. Get a really well specced one as the extras make the car.. Change the oil every 8,000 miles, 10,000km regardless of what Audi might tell you.

Decent review man apart from the odd sketch camera focus but I'm a bit OCD with such things, been on the look for an A4 TFSi for a wee while now, had a few Audi's in the past, A4 1.8 and a 100CD back around 1999 ish
I really like the estate and was thinking if that 1.4 had enough guts, I'm super fussy though and after the right colour and Spec with low miles on the clock, in no hurry to buy and just have a look every now and again on the usual sites, seen a few nice ones but high miles haven't not took my interest any further.
Anyway thanks again for some decent points and always good tae see a fellow jock doing reviews with a slightly different approach than the others.
    Cheers mate.

I had a 66 plate 2.0 TDI sline. I really liked it but it was plagued with stop start problems (the dealer couldn't find a fault!) and had an issue with the adblue when the car was out of warranty which ended up costing a fortune.

I owned a used 2001 Audi S3 it was mega, I kept it for nearly ten years, 140,000 on the original clutch and no problems; 95,000 o& those miles being completed by myself.
I then bought a 2014 S3 new, it was also awesome, not quite as solid as my previous vehicle but much faster, I hit a badger and destroyed it. I think due to modern crumple zones and of course badgers being very well built!
After that I bought a new 2018 RS5 Carbon, this car was out of this world despite widespread criticism at not being a V8 but it was like the Millennium Falcon fast and had its own nascar sound. Disappointingly it was stolen after 12 months of ownership but thankfully recovered with minimal damage.
Some channels disparage Audi but if the cars are treated correctly they are well thought out, solid and dependable machines.
I can not praise the Audi vehicles that I have personally been fortunate to experience enough.
I’m enjoying your channel and looking forward to hearing more about your R8 thanks

In answer to your question it involved the adblue pump not registering when added to the tank,so dashboard came up with 600 miles before engine will not function!Went to Audi they said need new pump and tank cost£1,900.However during the time of having to wait for repair and now down to 250 miles on dashboard it correct itself. No repair has been done saving me money, but now always make sure adblue is tipped up every month.

I think a comment about the ad blue pump failing should be added I recently suffered with no car for 9+ weeks whilst my local dealer had 3 cars in for the same fault it was a £2K but the dealer’s charge was half. This needs to be mentioned it’s a really common fault with 16 Reg diesels, the pump design was changed at the facelift but buyers need to be aware apart from door mirrors failing the car has been faultless for 6 years

Great review, thanks. I’m trying to find a 66 plate 2017 one at the moment. Test drove a manual one today and found the gear stick vibrating at all speeds, is this a problem. Seems to be a little bit of a trend with theses cars Stuart. Speaking with an Audi tech we are friends with he believes the wheels are quite susceptible to buckling slightly which is what causes the vibrations. A few have been replaced under warranty as a result.
