Hey Tony! Awesome job! These guys are beasts! I just saw them live in Pittsburgh last Monday. They don't disappoint. Just amazing amazing musicians. All 4 of them. You are gonna have an awesome experience when you see them.
one of the best vids I've seen is when Clay had problems with his in-ears so he had some dude just tap his foot to the tick and played everything from memory with just a dude tapping his leg to help him...
@@Kriss_941 I hate to be that guy but he plays from memory everytime, with in ears or not, the in-ears are just a metronome with the return of the other instruments So if you remove the in-ears u will just hear the other instruments in a worse quality, the only thing u will miss 100% is the metronome, thats why there was a guy tapping the tempo on his leg
This entire song just oozes with syncopation in the note choice. It's great. Hope you enjoy seeing them in October when you see em live. Saw em back in August of last year and man do I wanna go back in time haha
You'd really enjoy The Omnific. They're entirely rhythm section with 2 bassists and a drummer. They even have a song called Antecedent featuring Clay Gober from Polyphia.
I think you'll really enjoy reacting to ichika nito! He has insane guitar skills, his music is amazing and he was even in a song with polyphia called death note!
bro ichika is gud but his music is kind of same all the time, also one will understand that its a polyphia song but all of them are hella diffrnt but i rspct ichika too
Got to see them live here in phx last year, absolutely incredible. Clay is so so crisp and precise live, I think you’ll really enjoy it. Also the drum playthrough for this one is highly worthwhile! Keep up the amazing work 🤘🏼
Hi, Tony! Thank you so much for yet another great video clip on Polyphia. Yes, I agree with you that there is no need to reiterate how great Clay A. is on the kit. I came across your channel only a month ago and found so many cool stuff about drum play. I knew nothing about drums before and now slowly begun to appreciate their beauty. Good luck for the gig and go get Clay! Wishing you all the best with love from Seoul, Korea.
You should watch the making of OD as well. It's an interesting mix of hip hop chord progressions, pop song structure, and of course the polyphia elements.
Everyone talks about Tim. And, tbf, he's Tim Henson. He's earned it. I've even heard people say he feeds riffs to an AI until it generates something he likes....even if that's true, it's amazing he can play it so well. I'm a huge fan of his shit, but I'm glad to see someone fanboying over Clay. I'm not very smart, and my ears are as sharp as I am, but whenever I hear about Clay, I'm told that his name is accurate; He holds everything together for the rest of the group.
Apparently the switch-up half way through was supposed to feature a solo from Ichika Nito. Still one of my favorites from Polyphia. But after learning that, it does feel kind of.. hollow?.. Maybe not the best descriptor, but you can sense more was supposed to be there, & it always leaves me wondering now.
Hi Tony, I hope everything is going well for you. I just binge-watched a bunch of anime openings from your channel, and learning about what makes them unique and appealing is truly fascinating to me. I would greatly appreciate it if you could analyze the second opening of Bluelock! The anime is centered around soccer, in case you're interested. Keep up the fantastic work!
please look at ichika nito as well. He is an insane Japanese guitar player that plays in this style, but does more neo soul and lofi stuff rather than proper rock. would 100 percent recommend

Sweet! I can't wait
I saw them in Dallas a couple weeks ago, it was amazing and Scott brings enough stage presence to counter Tim's reservedness lol
Oh cool, I was there too. Like 3 rows back right in front of Tim's little step stool lol
@@mojitosuave yep I totally agree with you. They are a ying and yang.
I saw them live 2 weeks ago. Truly astonishing - I had the idea I might be able to catch some timing issues but Clay NEVER. MISSED. ONCE.
one of the best vids I've seen is when Clay had problems with his in-ears so he had some dude just tap his foot to the tick and played everything from memory with just a dude tapping his leg to help him...
@@Kriss_941 That was his drum tech.

Tom has also many "Making of" series which is really cool to see the progression of how the song came to be.

The real mvp is the bass, what a groove!!!!!!

Bassist clay and drummer clay do be holding everything down.
Saw them in St. Pete a few weeks ago, they were incredible live just make sure to watch your head with everyone crowd surfing
Found your channel through the AOT videos, I loved this. I just saw Polyphia live in Indianapolis a bit ago.
I can play guitar pretty well, but I could never imagine creating the type of stuff they make. Absolutely amazing stuff.
Saw them when they came to indy a few weeks ago and it was one of my fav shows ever!
Can’t wait to watch them live in a month!
Would love to see you check out some of polyphias order stuff at some point. 40 Oz, champagne and hourglass are some of my favs
