Mid removal on my turbo and this video help a lot, showed me it was worth the effort to remove the EBPV to get to the turbo flange bolt, I just need to get a 15mm wobble socket so I can get the other turbo bolt out and finish up 👍🏼
I think the sockets you need to get the flange bolts off are 13mm ( the easy top ones ) and 15mm, for the aluminum pedestal base they are 10mm - you can order them from MATCO online individually
Just tackled this three weeks ago and due to leaky upper orings (between the pedestal and cartridge) caused by hair line cracks in the turbo cartridge, I had to install and uninstall the entire turbo assembly a total of 5 times…got a lot faster but was a total PITA everytime. GREAT freaking video, I had to figure this process out the hard way!!
@@hello-uk7zd Yeah, it’s not the easiest but I’ll tell you once I got the right tools for the job. It went remarkably well. I honestly don’t see how guys get these 3 /8 drive wobble sockets in to do this job. I just can’t see that happening. The only thing that worked for me was the way I did it, and those were the exact tools that I used. I have to dread installing it in the next couple of days so that’ll be another adventure I imagine
@@zeke289goops8 It’s worth doing , I made a mistake. They’re called Fernco caps or Fernco fittings anyway, you can get them anywhere by any name. It’s the same thing you know what to do.

I’ve seen plenty of turbo removal videos and haven’t seen the fernco coupling trick before I will definitely do that when I do my turbo thanks!
