    Great looking country.. I have a 2022 Kingquad 750 and can’t wait to take it on a trip like that.

    On mileage. I have a 500axi and was ringing today in really choppy, rock-strewn roads and lots of hills. Spent most of the day in 4WD, in low, and climbing and egged 21.25 mpg. Not 28 mpg, but what is good nowadays?

      Hey Kevin glad to hear you’re out enjoying your 4 wheeler. I haven’t been paying much attention to actual mileage lately. I’m at just over 70 miles on the current trip meter right now and the fuel gauge is fluctuating between one and two bars remaining. I will make it a point to calculate it again soon and post it up. The tank has been pretty tame riding as I was out with my dad in my recent video. Very little 4x4 or low range riding. Most was pretty easy riding.

    Yep Suzuki really got all the kinks worked out of this machine. I’ve watched a lot of the videos explaining all the little updates. It’s a great machine. I’m still getting mine broken and I hope to get a go pro set up soon.

      Completely agree, they got it right with these quads. The break in process is a pain, but I'm sure it's worth it in the long run.

      @@aaronkelley7448 yep not supposed to go more than half throttle for the first 100 miles or 10 hours. I haven't had it much over 30 mph but I normally don't drive that fast anyway. 10-20 mph if perfect for exploring the trails in my area. If I wanted to go fast I would buy a dirt bike. I wanted something I could load up and go camping with and just putt around

    My only complaint about the king quad is they need to come with a better wheel and tire package

    • @aaronkelley7448
      @aaronkelley7448  3 роки тому

      Good point Nathan, with the two I bought new I had the dealer tear the stock tires off and replace them with Bighorns. The steel wheels that come on the 2019 and newer models should also be replaced. I switched mine out for some of the older aluminum wheels that were on my 2014. Still not great but better.

    How is the engine braking i have a grizz about 10 months old , looking to up grade my wifes quad current suzuki 400

    • @aaronkelley7448
      @aaronkelley7448  3 роки тому

      I think it’s about right. In low on a steep hill it holds you back enough that you don’t need to use your brakes too much. It’s not so abrupt though that it throws you off when you back off the throttle in normal riding situations when decelerating. The 2019 and up are clutched similarly to your Grizzly. 18s and down have larger clutch weights and run at lower RPMs in any given situation. Both are okay but The 19s set up has grown on me and I prefer it.

      Most of the time I’m by myself because my days off are usually weekdays. I feel blessed to live where I do. It really is loaded with lots of cool places to explore and if you’re an outdoorsman it’s hard to beat. The best part is access. Most of the mountain ranges are public land. Where are you located?

    • @snakeplisken4119
      @snakeplisken4119 3 роки тому

      @@aaronkelley7448 North Western Ontario. 95% of it crown land meaning anyone can use. Lots of heavy thick bush so you are limited to the snow machine trails and the logging roads which there is lots. Biggest risk is going alone and getting in trouble as you can very likely be a long way from the next living soul. Cell coverage is also limited so you need a winch, a reliable quad ( which Suzuki is) and don't do stupid stuff.

      My wife doesn’t really like me going out on my own, but after 30 years of it she kind of used to it. I do take a SPOT satellite tracker so if I get stuck too bad they can send someone to help or even dispatch search and rescue. I’ve been in areas with warning signs that state how remote the country is and that your not likely to see anyone for days. It’s definitely risky. If you ever decide to make a trip this way let me know.

    Were you jumping when hitting those small water bars? Sounds like a blip of the throttle was lifting your front end on them. If so, that is finally good news that the king quad has more snap to it. My 2013 with a machined sheave, lighter weights and spring still doesnt have the snap to do that. My Grizzlies have always been able to and certainly the brute force 750s I've owned. I just might get back into a king quad as that would make them more exciting to ride!

    • @aaronkelley7448
      @aaronkelley7448  3 роки тому +1

      Yes just lifting front by punching the throttle a little on the approach lifts it up enough to cruise through on the rear wheels or even jump depending on speed and how hard I hit it. I think they are better and more responsive than the older models, but still not like a brute. They have plenty of snap for me. Mine is bone stock.
