I wish you would have shown a more up close view of crocheting the split stitch because it honestly looks like a regular SC. It really is a beautiful pattern though.
This stitch is a bit different looking in rows and works best in the round, but I do have something coming in the future that would work for a blanket.

For the split stitch she's going through the post of the stitch, BELOW the top loops where you normally insert your hook.

I don’t see where to place the hook for ssc. Would a zoom in of that process be something that can be done??
If I would use this stitch to make a blanket, or throw, would you chain 1 in the beginning of each row ?
