Patrick is an International treasure
Interplanetary at least
Exactly amen 🖖
He's the kind of goofy grampa who would surprise you with deep and insightful life lessons in the middle of his goofiness. It's adorable to say the least.
Galactic.
@@NotInTheFace111 100%!!
I have a special place in my heart for Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen ❤.
They're hilarious together. Love them.
Professor X and Magneto
Charles Xavier & Eric Lensherr
Good friendship
Wow, he is a charismatic, eloquent, intelligent and lovable man who has created fascinating memories for us viewers for years. For me personally, his performance in the movie Logan was very personal and emotional.
Fabulous motion picture legendary actor! I agree with you!
I stopped doing home work nearly 18 years ago so please don’t bring back those memories 😉🤣
Yeah, Logan is a top three for comic book movies, easily.
Jimmy Kimmel was in Logan? J\K
Staying up late to watch the finale.
I hope that Stewart and the rest of the cast live long and prosper.
Star Trek: Legacy? Make it so!
This is the way! Oh no, wait... All kidding aside, YES, YES, YES, Star Trek: Legacy, make it so! And so looking forward to Star Trek: Starfleet Academy as well!
I won't spoil it because I know that, while my day off lines up right to watch the finale at 5AM when I woke up, I know not everyone is so lucky. I will say that they TOTALLY set up a new series, and it's one I will watch. The first since Voyager.
You’ve probably watched it by now, I stayed up late to watch too.
What a finale, eh? Wished I was able to get IMAX tickets, definitely an episode with a lot of audience cheering.
I went the other way, and got up early for it. Freaking great. And as others have said, it's a sneaky backdoor pilot for sure. And I love it.
The object should be to get the TNG crew together as a crew of old smugglers on a new Star Wars show under Dave Filoni
My first memory of Sir Patrick Stewart is his role as Gurney Hallick in Dune!
He is simply amazing! A true legend!
Long live Duke Leto!
"They said you were dead... you young pup." Sir Patrick was a great Gurney Halleck. That image of him holding the pug sticks with me.
@@Albo96286 lol, while saving the family pug. Cringe in the best possible way.
Gurneyman!!
@@johneakin5184 I love that scene because that's 100% what I would have done - the pup goes with me in a crisis 😁
im 50, i have never considered myself a fan of anyone. But as i sit here watching Patrick, I realized, he may be the only famous person i could call myself a fan of. He is such a good actor.
Sending a big hug for this statement. :) Best ~ Mad
Did you see him in "I, Claudius"? Brilliant.
Picard season 3 rules so hard
thats what she said
Living legend. Proper gentleman.
For me he was the greatest captain and his crew the greatest crew of the enterprise!
Sir Patrick isn't just Star Trek, he is extreme talent all around, he has Brough smiles, tears, and excitement to many people, he is a creative essence and amazing artist!
fascinating gentleman - I just found you -never watched star trek etc.
Before the x-men movies came out, most of us fan casted Patrick Stewart as professor x. That is because of his stellar acting as Jean-Luc. He has that gravitas in the way he acts.
Stewart was cast as Jean-Luc Picard because of his acting in _Dune._
@@RideAcrossTheRiver I'd have said "Excalibur".
@@SamLanena That too, but _Dune_ was SF just preceding TNG, so you can see the Gurney Halleck in Picard.
@@RideAcrossTheRiver no argument from me. The man brings an authority of respect to everything he's done. Even Conspiracy Theory😉✌️
@@SamLanena The layout of the TNG ship comes from the _V_ miniseries and a lot of seasons 2 and 3 copped _Space: 1999_ plots! So, y'know, Roddenberry pulled it all together...
He is so important to not just sci-fi, but film, cinema, television. Sir Patrick Stewart is a juggernaut through and through, and hasn't slowed down yet.
Also theater.
I love Patrick and the Star Trek gang. We all got older and better.
Wonderful!
I have loved Patrick Stewart since he first appeared in "TNG" all those years ago. The entire cast is remarkable, and it's so good to have them reunited for this series. Great interview! ❤
I just adore Patrick Stewart. He’s so sweet and humble and whip-smart. And funny! If I were his neighbor I’d be inviting him to dinner every week. Wonderful guy.
Do you invite your current neighbours to dinner every week?
Patrick Stewart is one of 3 notable people I would actually like to meet. May he live forever! Engage!
I just love Patrick Stewart. I grew up watching him as Captain Picard. As an adult, I learned about Patrick Steward beyond being an actor, everything he does for women's rights. His amazing friendships and other non-tv/movie acting. They often say don't meet your heroes but I can't imagine being anything but delighted and amazed if I got to meet him.
This man helped define me as a person and I will always love him for it. Thanks, space dad! ❤
What a wonderful comment. 🖖
What an absolutely wonderful man! Picard season 3 has been the best Trek made in the last decade. "I'm afraid I'm emotionally compromised, Captain".
Some of my earliest memories are watching TNG with my mom.
Great to see Patrick Stewart doing so well. And the rest of the TNG cast too.
Whether on the stage in a Shakespeare play, at the helm of the Enterprise, or putting the moves on Frasier (still one of my favourite episodes), Sir Patrick is a stellar talent and never takes himself too seriously.
Ahhh love that frasier episode too❤❤❤❤ my two favorite series colliding ( and of course again when Kelsey guest starred in ST)
I remember Kelsey Grammar in a starfleet uniform, but I do not remember Sir Patrick Stewart on Frasier...?
Listening to him mention the names of his cast mates just has to give you goosebumps.
LOL michael dorn is at home and crying in his gagh ;)
I was also shouting in my head "Where is Michael Dorn???"
Worf will always be a favourite to me
He's been one of my favorite actors since I was a child. 💯💯💯💯💯
When Sir Patrick Stewart asks for one serious moment, you don't interrupt.
It's a testament to JK's interview skills that, having zero interest in any Star Trek shows whatsoever, I thoroughly enjoyed this interview. I understood all the references related to Sinatra, Shatner, and Buttigieg. Jimmy has been my touchstone since Letterman retired. And Patrick Stewart, you were great, open, and honest.
Let's not forget that he was in John Boorman's "EXCALIBUR" and David Lynch's "DUNE" too. He also portrayed Sejanus in the magnificent BBC series "I, CLAVDIVS".
Indeed, glad someone realizes he had a great body of work
Sir Stewart naming his 'rat pack'
poor Michael Dorn lolol
jimmy kinda waylaid him off subject.
@@jorgegonzalez-larramendi5491 yeah so got Damn annoying, Jimmy more interested in his bald head.
"No, Worf. Permission denied."
@@pjforde1978 'But, daaaaaad'
Nah just a senior moment 😊
The guy is 82 - and still going strong - a genuine inspiration & gentleman
I love this man and I will always love his version of A Christmas Carol!
Yes!!! 😊❤
I wish I had 10% of his vitality, humour and intelligence when I'm 82.
I never cried and I'm still weeping seeing all together again, warm my heart the last two episodes thanks to all who made it happened.
You're not alone!
The best writing of any Star Trek series ever!!!!!
the story lines acting and writing of all 3 seasons of Picard were tremendous
“Picard” has been an incredible show that went out on the highest possible note with Season 3. Bravo!!!
I finally decided to watch it a few days ago....as one who grew up with TNG, I absolutely love it.
I could listen to Stewart talk all day long.
We all grew up with them. I remember being little and TNG was THE show for INSPIRATION, BELIEVING IN A BETTER FUTURE, and POSITIVITY. It was so full of charm and GREATNESS!!! Gosh i am SO HAPPY to se them reunite after all this time and being all great together again! They are part of my life and hope for a greater humanity! TNG and Star Trek are more than a show on so many levels. WE NEED POSITIVITY NOW MORE THAN EVER IN THE WORLD! We have to make this world constantly a better and better place. In the end humanity is just a big family...
One of the best interviews I have seen in a long time. Live long and prosper Sir Patrick! 🖖
Patrick Stewart is such a big sweetheart!💖
The one shocking thing about Patrick Stewart is he doesn't look like he changed all that much since I first saw him on TV in September 1987. Oh Captain, my captain!
I will be genuinely sad when Patrick Stewart passes. What an amazing man.
Stsr Trek TNG was the only show my whole family watched together. Star Trek Picard is a superb ending to a classic series. Thank you Patrick for agreeing to come back and do one last curtain call!
This man is a legend
Not since the cameras were turned on in May 1987 has the "man in the chair" been more charming and more honorable, with care and gravitas.
Picard Season 3 was everything we have been waiting for as TNG fans.
Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon them. Sir Patrick is all three.
When I was in university my entire floor would gather on Thursdays at 7 pm to watch Star Trek TNG. You could hear a pin drop. Then when it was over we’d drink and get ready to hit the bars. Loved the original but TNG was great
Likewise! I went to a small school, so the entire dorm would commandeer the common room for TNG every Thursday night.
Patrick Stewart is a treasure, and his blazer is also exceptional; props to the dresser.
I'm fortunate enough to have met many of the actors from the original series/ tng/ Voyager and Ds9.
They truly love their fans and enjoy interacting with them.
The 2 highlights for me as a fan were; sharing the "Vulcan hand greeting" with Mr. Nimoy and shaking his hand AND giving flowers to Miss Nichols and getting a KISS from her!! May they both rest in peace.
Star Trek Picard Season 3 is excellent nostalgia filled romp. It deserves an Emmy!!!
TNG is my home, Picard and the crew are family. I've watched that series many times, it makes life a little easier to deal with, having an ambitious idea of the future and people willing to sacrifice themselves for a greater good. Sir Patrick is a treasure ❤
i love how this Star Trek captain walks in to a rockstar greeting by the audience. warms the heart.
Patrick Stewart is my most favorite human. Thanks for doing Picard when I needed you most. ❤
I remember having first seen Sir Patrick in the 1976 series “I, Claudius.” It was a remarkable series. He also played Sir Alec Guinness’ adversary Karla in the 1982 miniseries “Smiley’s People.”
Was going to mention Karla! He played the role perfectly. And, yes, “I Claudius’ with Sir Derek Jacobi. How well they have both done since then!
Seriously this was a fantastic show! I Claudius incredibly good television
Oh god there will never be a man like Sir Patrick ever again. Jean Luc Picard is my HERO.
Love this man forever!!!THE GREATEST STAR TREK CAPTAIN
I loved watching ST Picard, not a surprise as TNG was my favorite SCIFI show ever. It was pretty emotional in season 3 with all of the TNG crew coming back together. Now I'm in the same emotional place I was when TNG ended, but it was worth it.
I adore Patrick Stewart! He’s a treasure!
I worked with Patrick at the Guthrie Theater, he is better in person than I can tell you. We had a nice comic book club.
There is Nothing Patrick Stewart does that isn’t Excellent! Enjoy your retirement Captain Picard, the Starship fleet, & the rest of us, will miss you dearly! Thank you for so many years of wonderful entertainment!!! Jimmy, you deserve a hug For bringing us Patrick Stewart tonight at the end of his stellar career. Can’t think of two finer people I would rather watch than seeing you two tonight!
Lol was the final emotional… I teared up five different times… The most I ever have done watching TV. Honestly, it was a wonderful homage to the whole series and this entourage of actors.
One of my most favorite actors of all time Patric Stewart is the best!
Star Trek has been such a huge part of my life. This season of Picard has been outstanding I find myself tearing up quite often. Stewart hands down best captain.
Picard season " one " was just marvelous, finally watching Star Trek again. - Rip Shaw - again this third season was entertaining, exciting and worth watching.
Patrick Stewart is a gem of a human being.
The finale was beautiful. Great sendoff and that tease wow ha
He has a masterful presence. A true genius.
Love, love, love Sir Patrick Stewart his movies and Star Trek series!!❤❤❤❤
I loved Sir Patricks’s version of “The Canterville Ghost”. Just wonderful! He even does a scene from “Hamlet”. Fabulous!
Just phenomenal - I could listen & watch Stewart all day.
What a beautiful smile Patrick has!❤️🇨🇦❤️
Patrick, if you are reading this, thank you for playing a character so powerfully moral (Picard) and so in control and diplomatic that he is to be revered as one of the best superheroes this lost man has ever had. Thank you for living your dream and becoming a source of so many things that are truly good.
I absolutely adore Patrick Stewart. He is funny, sincere, witty and has a great heart. I have watched him avidly since ST:TNG and he has not disappointed in all the years I have followed his career in TV and movies. Bless you, Sir Patrick - I hope you live forever!
With all my heart ❤ I love Sir Patrick Stewart. Worth more than antimatter
I spent most of last week in the hospital. My adult daughter spent a lot of time with me to keep my spirits up. We binged episodes of Picard together. That was cool.
One thing I really love about TNG is that it's not just a great family on screen, but also off-screen. Their rapport with each other and their friendship is so wonderful. The ease and familiarity of their interactions also translates to beautiful on-screen chemistry.
I have to think of the famous passage from Tennyson:
“Though much is taken, much abides; and though
We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are;
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.”
Sir Patrick is a legend and a treasure.
The fact that Patrick Stewart makes friends in every franchise he works in says a lot about his personal character
An amazing actor. A wonderful person. ST TNG was highlight of my childhood, and having Picard now is a new highlight.
CBS studios did a fantastic, almost believable, amazing job with Picard's 3 Seasons. He's almost 90 years old, so his TV son Jack will mostly likely take Star Trek into the New Generation. (I won't spoil the ending of the Picard Finale, but a very special and unexpected post-credit scene happened that gave me chills) Star Trek will never die with us fans that always show for for more
Patrick Stewart is 81, no not almost 90.
patrick stewart is a legend. what a great guy i love this interview.
You can't help but love this guy. Wonderful interview!
"My hairdresser - not a word!!" 😆😆😆😆😆😆😆
Finale was amazing!!! Definitely had me crying
Me too!
One of the best things SirPatStew could possibly say about the character & how Picard is portrayed in it: "He is not the same man. People are not the same as they were 25 years ago" and that's 100% true, like the 11th Doctor said: "We all change, when you think about it, we're all different people; all through our lives, and that's okay, that's good, you've gotta keep moving, so long as you remember all the people that you used to be."
Patrick Stewart is a legend.
What a legend of a person
"Make it so" sounds like a Sinatra song title, actually.
No one can ever replace him as JLP and Prof. X !!
I love that Jimmy kept saying CBS All Access when it should be Paramount+
I think he was just reading from the teleprompter .. the teleprompter got it wrong .
When stng came out I was appalled by this Capt. And he won me over within the first few episodes. He's an icon
What a gem
Sir Patrick ❤ And, yes.... the last episode was emotional. The last 2. When they got on the D I teared up.
Great guest great interview thank you Jimmy !!!
There is a part of me that wants nothing more than to give Patrick Stewart a hug.
Something about him just gives off a healing property…
But whether I ever get the chance to meet him or not, there are few people that elicit so much joy at the mere mention of there name
He is one of the few people outside my immediate friends and family that I genuinely dread losing one day:
Patrick Stewart
Patton Oswalt
Weird Al
Jonathan Davis
David Grohl
Each have played a role in who I’ve become today from an environmental aspect. Davis’ seemingly endless battles with psychological/emotional pain and tragedy but always pushing to overcome it… Patrick Stewart as Picard rising to any challenge while doing everything he can to keep those close to him safe… Patton for being able to use comedy and laughter to help process pain and loss or simply to not let a terrible day consume you… Grohl’s music, similar to Davis’, is an outlet that I’ve come to use as a means to purge myself of negative emotions or energy and give myself a mental reset rather than bottle up those emotions… and Weird Al has always been there with a new spin on something and that no matter how bizarre your interests are, that you should always embrace what makes you happy; even if it’s dancing around like a dork with an accordion, just be yourself and make the most of what you have
I wouldn’t say they are my “heroes”
per-say say but for the indirect influence on my life during and since my formative years, I have a deep appreciation for each (and many others)
Thank you Sir Patrick Stewart! What a beautiful Final season. It is great to see him get the press he had when TNG started in 87
I'm still all smiles. And I didn't even know Sinatra was a fan!
He’s a total hoot. I like him a lot 😄
Sir Patrick is a special dude
I love this man with all my heart. Such a sweet person
Sir Patrick, not just a scifi legend, a cultural icon and an amazing actor! Glad to see him looking strong, healthy, and loving life!
Love Patrick!!
The final show was epic.
