These two are so sophisticated and articulate with such a command of language and mannerisms. They're just as entertaining to watch them talk as themselves as they are in character. Two remarkable actors of our time.
If you look up the word "class" in the dictionary, you will find a picture of these two. Talented, articulate, intelligent and completely down to Earth. I love watching anything with the two of them performing opposite each other. They just crackle.
Note to the uploader: Background trashy music isn't needed to enhance a Q&A video with McKellan and Stewart. I mean, this is McKellan and Stewart for goodness sake! They don't need to be enhanced!
hhhmmmm I don't think it's class. It's just a deep sense of sophistication those two hold within themselves that actually has nothing to do with grandeur at all! :)
I think it shows how masterful of an actor he is. Just by changing his voice and his mannerisms he immediately became Gandalf even though he isn’t wearing anything close to what Gandalf wears.
To be honest I never gave one thought of any music being played as I was extremely intreaged in the conversation between these two extraordinary gifted Actors of stage and cinema.
@@tonymanfredi6844 You're lucky. I found it intrusive because I don't hear so well at certain wavelengths, and sometimes have problems picking out conversations from background.

"What do I envy? I'm not very good at envy, actually. If someone's got good qualities, and you have many, I'm really glad for them." What a freaking class act.
That hands reply from Sir Patrick Stewart was indeed excellent. I come across many instances when things that I (or those I speak with) find themselves applying something unrelated from the past to improving what is being done now or at the time.
I love these two so much, individually as actors and together as friends. They are so comfortable with each other and so genuinely like each other. It shines through. Charming, both of them!
Don't worry! Patrick stated himself in this very video that his school life ended at the age of 15. Someone won't grant you passion and knowledge. You get it yourself :)
Indeed, Sir Patrick says often how he is in love with his friend Sir Ian. So that is an absolute bromance, entirely not related to sexuality but love and it is so adorable.
I love the friendship they have. Not only have they worked together SOOOOOO much, but they have a genuine friendship which is rare to find anywhere, let alone in "Hollywood"
Wow, Stewart is so well spoken for someone dropping out of high school, sounds more intelligent than 99.99 percent of the people I was in college with.
@Rad Derry but thats my ORIGINAL point. HE IS BRITISH 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I NEVER said the specific area because i didnt know. Doesnt matter if he changes his accent its STILL BRITISH and makes him sound intelligent to the rest of the world..
@Easliy Displeased Rad Derry is telling you Patrick Stewart's accent sounds poor, because he grew up very low class. teamcoco.com/video/-the-origins-of-sir-patrick-s-stewart-mellifluous-voice When he speaks today, he's using the accent he learned in theater, which is very high class.
Not only are these two super entertaining together but they are also absolutely insightful in what they say. Great sense of humor and loads of wisdom. Love it!
I rarely say this and genuinely mean it (just kind of an empty person most of the time, really), but I hope these two live out the rest of their lives pain-free and satisfied. It's odd how two calm older men can light up an entire room, but their personalities are brighter than the up-beat music and white room walls.
both men are a fantastic credit to their profession, and to the true sense of whom a knighthood should be bestowed upon. spent their life entertaining people in various forms of the acting world, on stage, in movies, and in life. well done sirs.

Yes I agree. I so much like to hear so many of english actor's voices - in movies and in audiobooks in tv documentaries or any other performances and such music like something in terrible advertising and without any correspondence with this dialogue is very disturbing.
If someone said I could only listen to two voices (besides my family) for the rest of my life it would be these two. They could say or read anything and I'm here for it.
I loved McKellen in Mr. Holmes. It's a very touching story... and his character really feels like a believable, personal side of the character that makes sense.
Except that Picard used his back pants pocket for an iPhone 6+ sized doodad in TNG S6 E18 Starship Mine. He must have forgotten that one. (Only reason I know is it was on just last night and I was surprised to see the use of a pocket.)
First thing I ever saw Ian McKellen in was when he played Iago in Othello, on video as part of my drama class in 1990. I've been a fan ever since. If you haven't seen it go and watch it. Then thank me later. These are.2 of my favourite actors.

The four horsemen of masterclass thespians and gentlemen! Sir Ian Mckellen, Sir Patrick Stewart, Sir Anthony Hopkins, and Sir Christopher Lee! Bless them!
My favorite parts of this double interview is how (and when) Stewart edits the cards he is reading from. So that what he speaks comes out properly because the cards are written lazily.
"I observed him from afar.... and was impressed"
Aww, bromance at first sight
Cam Brown lol
or more?
Talent recognizes talent!
Best bromance of all time.
He said he was most likely observing a very young and Twinkish Roger Rees.
When you sit down to watch an interview with two legends of stage and screen like this, you don't need repetitious music over the top.
Totally agree with this. The music was very distracting.
Agreed grated on my nerves just a bite .
Speak for yourself. I clicked on this video to listen to the music. No idea who these grandpas are.

Here, here...and BRAVO.
That is probably one of the BEST comments I have ever read on UA-cam.
Not to take away from them but I wonder how much of this was rehearsed and they practiced and though about the wording before.
What a class pair and very funny

hhhmmmm I don't think it's class. It's just a deep sense of sophistication those two hold within themselves that actually has nothing to do with grandeur at all! :)
I have to be honest, when Ian McKellen adopted the Gandalf face and voice I had the slightest nerdgasm. Two of the best actors in the business.
Would've been awesome if Sir patrick said in his picard voice: you're my number one ian
I think it shows how masterful of an actor he is. Just by changing his voice and his mannerisms he immediately became Gandalf even though he isn’t wearing anything close to what Gandalf wears.
Can we not just listen to the beautiful voices without the background music?
