Agreed!! I just listened to him this morning on an hour and a half long podcast interview with Ryan Holliday. That is how I began my day at 4:30 AM. It was a wonderful way to start my day!
Arnie wants people to understand that none of us is truly "self made" when we succeed; he stresses the importance of giving credit to the many people along the way who support a person's success.
They discussed the lessons of the Stoics, particularly Marcus Aurelius, which is where much of Arnie's brilliant wisdom and drive comes from. Go check it out. He's an amazing human being.

I really enjoyed this interview. I met Arnold back in 1991 at the hotel I was working for in Tokyo. He was there promoting his movie, Terminator 2. I had just started working at the hotel, and my job was to check in the guests and walk them to their room showing them how to use the phone, telling them about restaurants in the area, etc. I was told that Arnold would be the first celebrity of many that I would check in. I enjoyed our visit in the elevator up to his suite. He was a really nice guy. It’s hard for me to believe that was already 32 years ago. Time really flies!

Great parenting tips from the Governator. Two lessons I learned from wise parents...A teenage boy slammed his bedroom door after an argument with his dad, the dad removed the bedroom door for a week. The second came from a dad whose daughter pushed curfew, he took her car away one day for every minute she was late. Brilliant!

I was 12. My father told me to be IN the house at 7:00pm. I was at my gate at 7:00, just as he said. My father was AT the door. He saw me. He locked the door and went to sleep. I walked the 75 feet from the gate to the door and sat by the stairs. 4 hours later an older sister opened the door and let me in. Next day, home from school and he from work he asked me: What time did I tell you to be IN the house? 7, I said, but you saw me, I was at the gate. "I told you to be IN the house, not at the gate".
Listened VERY CLOSELY since. Lost him 40 years ago, me 30, he 70. I am now 70 myself. He told me once all he should want and expect is to bring up a decent man. Among many things he put me through ( and I provoked) many in our family and friends say that he would be proud of me. (I know. He told me when I was 26. I asked him what took so long to which he replied: "I wanted to make sure I was right")

Ditto, but he can't. Section 1, article 2 of the Constitution. Natural born citizens only. There are a dozen Canadians I'd rather see in the White House over our current Pepsi/Coke choice of native born septagenarians.

Arnold, I heard you tell the light bulb store before. When my daughter would leave the lights on in her bedroom I would remove a light bulb everyday that she left them on. When there where no light bulbs left. We had a talk about it. She always turned the light off afterwards. It was good to hear that story again. You've always inspired me. Congratulations on the new addition to your family. Love you man.

I love his idea of American being more cooperative than competitive. It's true that they often lose sight that both sides are American and want what they deem best for the country. Making people so divided only distracts people from what really matters.
    He's a pretty cool guy.
