@@Sciuridae As someone who has worked in management I think the idea that everyone involved in a project is paid or lying is always hilarious because there's absolutely no way it wouldn't get leaked, especially that many people. It's why the term whistleblower exist. It is impossible to manage a large scale project without internal leaks in one way or another, no matter how much you pay a person.

So I attended IGN Live Friday and the only reason a majority of the people in the front are cheering was because they were throwing freebies/gifts into the crowd. There was a hype crew for the show that would constantly tell the crowd to cheer/applause in certain moments of the presentation (People were going crazy for more prizes that were given or going to be given away and not the actual presentation). Also it sucked because a majority of the people that were in the front got a majority of the prizes and it wasn't actually live. Actual event/ showcase schedule is at the show and what was "streamed live" wasn't actually live because I left early into the afternoon and they were showing what I saw at the show a few hours ago. Everything that was streamed "live" was edited

Some people think amazon isn't terrible after they released the fallout show. Becuase they simply ignore the god-awful writing and clap at the jangle keys of recognizable iconography.
They have amazing shows like The Boys and Invincible and some of the worst shows at the same time

@@stigmaoftherose That's what pisses me off about video game shows and movies. There's never an original story told, or its a terrible retelling of the original story. That's why I respect the Resident Evil movies, because instead of trying to key jangle fans, they created a new story in the world of Resident Evil, which allows us to now talk about Alice and her story in the films, as well as the classic characters like Leon, Claire, Chris, Sherry etc. Alice is an Original character in those 6 movies, and they hardly ever referenced or retold the video game events. Like it all started out pretty similarly in the first 2 films, then in Extinction they went down a different Path, only bringing recognizable characters from the games to the fil later on. Carlos in the 2nd, Claire in the 3rd, Wesker and Chris in the 4th, Leon, Ada, and Berry in the 5th, and then it all ended like it started. With just Alice. Those movies successfully told an original story, sometimes well, sometimes not so well, but an original story over all.

They have no incentive to do a good job and put resources into the games because whatever millions they lose from it they’ll make back in billions in a few hours.
It’s just a side hobby for them they can get bored of at any time and leave.
Loss? New World was a massive financial success for Amazon. The game is awful, but they sold a lot of copies.
@@ce4879 Initially, they did an okay job to be fair. The game was fun for a few months and was priced reasonably. Players would be happier if they stopped thinking of new MMOs as long-term investments. Enjoy the inital hype during the first year, leave as soon as the decline happens and return to the established MMOs like WoW or FF.

The reasons are two-fold:
1: It’s Amazon, what’d you expect?
2: That’s live service for ya.
Modern game devs wanna emulate MMOs, but refuse to implement the things that players love about MMOs while treating said players like mindless cash cows.
I have great memories of the first couple months, it's a bummer to see where it's ended up.
The writing was on the wall before it even launched.
Same here, I left after the economy was ruined by duplications and lost my rented home due to a bug.
It was a three way pvp mmo that was doomed just like similar games like Warhammer online was doomed. Three way large scale pvp games are nearly impossible to maintain as large service games for long periods of time. Planetside 2 lasted the longest though

@@Ralathar44 Just to mention a few, Warhammer 3 got review bombed for their greedy half assed DLCs, and after that they reduced prices on DLCs and increased the quality of them aswell. No Man Sky got review bombed and today is one of the best sandbox survival games on the market. So review bombing does make a difference in many cases.

It was probably the most hyped mmo game in history when it released and prior. People are willing to spend and endure garbage just for the hype. Just ask Logan Paul and KSI about their prime. A perfect example how a garbage products can be inflated this way without being good in the first place

Well it was very fun early on but once the honeymoon phase was over I desired more and i suppose the developers did deliver or something like that eventually. I think i clocked like 600 hours after release before i went into the "waiting for content and fixes" hibernation. The PvP bits were fine as long as the territories were sort of similar in power level but eventually all the good players who wanted to do PvP at all banded together to "bully" the worse players... Bully ain't exactly the right word, but it was the natural outcome when a few territories dominated to such a degree. So when the best aspect of the game started to feel bad, well then there was simply nothing left to retain players since the PvE was extremely grindy.
