Nikki Sixx has a gift with writing lyrics! Every song is like an anthem. The real CRUE fans love to sing along to every word. Their songs are catchy and fun to sing at live shows!! 😂✌
"Primal Scream" is Motley Crue's masterpiece. It's their "Stairway To Heaven" or "Satisfaction." And it is why the authors of this documentary picked the tune as its own chapter. I know some people would argue "Home Sweet Home," but what "Primal Scream" showed was that the Crue was the only group out of Hollywood outside of Gn'R that could survive the Los Angeles scene of the 1980's. In this tune they wrote lyrics that were as relevant to the times and to the grunge rock era as Pearl Jam and Nirvana. The video, for me, is even more powerful that "Teen Spirit." And the line "If you wanna live life on your own terms; you gotta be ready to crash and burn" is just about as good as it gets. It completely summarizes Motley Crue and everything they stood for as a band in a POSITIVE sense. It's damn shame that Vince left after this song, because their next record could've even topped "Feelgood." They were on a roll as a band, and could've gone to another level that would have forever disassociated them from Poison, Cinderella, Warrant and the countless lame bands that followed in their wake. I mean, for me, they are disassociated from those bands, but some stupid rock critics continue to lump them up with these stupid groups. If Vince has stayed, and Motley had released that next album, we might be thinking of them as the next greatest American hard rock band besides Aerosmith.
@ 37yrs old 'Kickstart..' Is probably my absolute #1 Crue song..maybe its the punk in me that feels it and it helps me get going in the morning..also love stimulants..even need em really. So thanks guys for creating it.
That monsters of rock tour was in 91, guess in summer , cant recall exactly, by that time motley were on a roll after the feelgood record and tour, metallica havent hit it big yet with the black album, acdc was doin good with razor's edge, and for longevity they dederved the headliners slot, but either crue or tallica could have also be the headliners of those gigs, have motley not fired vince in 92 i think the crue would also rule the 90s
They all have incredible skin !! These guys are oldies here and have almost no wrinkles or texture. Looking at their lifestyle in the past, they look amazing
There was no way motley were ever bigger than ac/dc. That's an outlandish claim. A Google search of album sales will tell you that straight away. Perhaps Metallica at a period in the 80s but by the 90s they were also eclipsing these guys and continue to.
It's apples and oranges to me. But, I remember more fanfare in the 80's of AC/DC. However, I think there may be a gender difference here. I think guys tended to be more over the moon for AC/DC and young girls were in love with the hair bands. The Crue is my favorite all time band. Alw as ys will be. I love AC/DC, but I didn't fantasize about those dudes like I did members of the Crue. Objectively, I agree AC/DC made more sales with a bigger audience. But, for females, their dollars went to bands like the Crue. I wonder if anyone has ever studied gender differences in band preferences on those decades? Be cool to read it. As for the music of today, the majority of it is crap! Thank God for Greta Van Fleet and Oblivea out of Ohio, because mainstream radio has nothing to offer rock or metal fans unless, it's ironically the classic rock or Oldies stations. God when did music from the 80's and 90's become classic rock? I feel so ancient. Well, at least we knew good music back in the day.
@@annmarieknapp I never stated anything about the sexual break down of fans or the assumption of who the band's fan base were made up of. Equally that wasn't the point sixx was making either. I'm just pointing out the factual inaccuracy of what he said. Just facts, sales and popularity.
@JASON VOORHEES no way. That way my playground but they are not still around in force. AC/DC and Metallica are. Sorry but live in what reality you want.
Acdc and Metallica headlined opening the soviet union to western ideas soo not quite that big i saw crue on the dead of winter tour and there was literally 3 thousands people in a 10k seat arena ... black curtains hid all the empty seats ...
This was like 1990. Metallica hadn´t released the Black album yet and Mötley Crue was at their top. So I would say that Mötley Crue was bigger than Metallica by then.
I don't think I like this crap this BAND is saying here? Now for the rest of the story tell the fans where ,primal scream ,home sweet home, really came from (as in who actually wrote it.) Sparking your memory guys.?+ :-)
"Primal Scream" is Motley Crue at the top of their game and a statement of what they are and stand for.

U fully nailed it. 👍
Those ‘91 tracks from Decadence were some of their best work. It would have been interesting to see what they could have done with that momentum.
I don’t really like primal scream
I totally agree with you.
This is one of mick's greatest solo's.
When he plays it live, it sounds just like the record
I’m a huge Metallica fan and I can clearly remember Lars Ulrich claiming that he wanted to work with Bob Rock after he heard the Dr. Feelgood album.
Wetting well I’m sure Metallica heard something in that album that they thought would add to their sound
Kenny Testa , Bob softened Metallica.
CanadianWatcher 693 according to Bob they softened themselves. They wanted HITS
Greg Hubbard They still had one more in them. AJFA was a masterpiece!

They all have incredible skin !! These guys are oldies here and have almost no wrinkles or texture. Looking at their lifestyle in the past, they look amazing

Last track they did with Neil and one of their best, IMO.
corabi was the link to the motley crue being a much heavier band
Great video guys. Good luck with show and tour. Wow the Band Kiss as well. Enjoy and good luck.
Best band period
Motley Crue will always Kick Everyone's Arse!!!
Yeah right. Motley crue suck so bad. I put them in the same category as poison. Pussy music for bitches

Primal Scream has the "slutty rock" sound of the 90s, there's a few more out there for this type of sound.
GNR welcome to the jungle

Sixx is a trip I mean talking about badass he couldn't really play the base he just figured it out and got her done

Vince Neil makes no sense at all .....like he said it’s not rock and roll . He must be high
Barry Stamper he didn't say that tho
Listen again I swear he said it
@@clemcadidlehopper9161 "Its not... I don't wanna say its not rock n roll but its got a different vibe to it" he almost said it lmao.
deep thoughts with Vince Meal
I think the word he was looking for was "bluesy" lol
Motley Crue is great but nowhere near the audience/HUGE of Metallica or AC/DC. Nikki realized that! Good for him!
"As big or bigger"? Ummm no
No shit. I know.
I think at that time they were a little bigger than Metallica. Not even near ACDC though. A year later Metallica passed by them ofc...But August 91...
Bigger than AC/DC? In your dreams Nikky.
dcabinet Nikki wasnt the one that said that, it was the manager
dcabinet Nikki. Respect. Motley ruled the 80s and 90s
Did he just say they were bigger than Metallica and AC/DC?

Mötley Crüe Rules All, Bitches!!!!!!
Is mick just not in this one :(
I mean I love Motley Crue, but I dont think they were or are bigger than Metallica nor ACDC
in the 80s they were but as music scene shifted metallicA GAINED LIMELIGHT
Hey Vince! WRONG!!! I heard from the writer of the song himself, it's about broken families & being raised basically neglected by ur own parents.
Tommy's liplicking is so annoying
lmao Vince
600th like
wait, what? Motley bigger than AC/DC and Metallica ? lol i think not
bigger than ac/dc yes metallica never
My Opinion your username says it all....because ac/DC will ONLY be bigger than ANYONE in YOUR opinion
you're dreaming dude
naw album sales money made hits released all agree with me

As awesome as the Crue is they would not compete with Metallica change my mind.
They could never outshine metallica lol never
