I remember when Motley Crew first started.. there were rumors they were Kiss without makeup... (hysterical!) I tried to sneak into the Whisky in 1983 because I could hear them from the sidewalk outside.... they were rocking that place like it had never been rocked before... proud to be a Crew fan for 35 years!

I 'came of age' in the 1980's. Throughout middle school, high school, college, Motley Crue and their music were a HUGE part of my life. They remain, to this day, one of my favorite bands. Motley Crue fans tend to feel a strong bond, a strong connection with the band, as they are reminiscent of our youth. It's always interesting when the Crue is back in the news, as is the case recently. "Too Fast For Love" remains their VERY BEST album - and one of rock's finest. It's raw, pure, passionate... In many ways, definitive of the times in which it was made...

Motley Crue had faith and relied on the best music "professionals" to make them into something big. Local band hits the lotto. One of the luckiest bands to benefit from all the pioneers of the decade before that had begun to fade, perfect timing. Kudos to them for walking the line and coming out on the other end alive. When I started dating my girl, she thought Dr. Feelgood was one of the great rock albums. I asked what else she liked from Crue, and she didn't really know much else. First I played her Girls, she thought that was great, but then I had to explain and show that Too Fast is just the shit! Same thing with Metallica, she thought the Black album was great, until I played her Master of Puppets. She thought Shake Your Money Maker was great, until I played her Southern Harmony and Amorica back to back. It's fun schooling people on great music. If this album sucked, there would be no Crue. Undeniable--their best album. They may have made better economy on other recordings --but this is the one, period. Mick arguably-- probably without knowing--made history with these tracks, amazing guitar hooks and grit, that was never able to be re-captured, and that is a good thing for the purist. Tommy was heavy, NiKK was heavy and Vince's voice was unique. They killed it here. 2nd album worked, it was great. Downhill from there except with radio and commercial appeal, cashed in. Too Fast For Love, made them.

Should there be a glam metal Big4 tour by 80's band? who would it be?( With a BIG4 i mean something similar that metallica, slayer, megadeth and anthrax did)

    • @Tlaloc77

Amund Dimmen those bands you named aren’t glam metal. Just don’t say anything

@@Tlaloc77 i know.. but i see now that my comment could be misunderstood, what i meant was that, they could have done something similar that those band did.. but i also see that i could have trolled ppl with it:)

very true - more popular than they deserved to be. Nothing really matters to crue, i'm sure, just check the list of trim they banged out for a decade or so--a who's who of HALL OF FAME Hollywood poontang. God bless these no-talent dimwits.

Well now that you mentioned it, I am definitely going to listen to that album, I was actually a big fan in the 80's and I haven't listened to MC94 but from other those albums in the 80's I would say shout at the devil was the best one, take care and thanks for the tip I am looking out now for that album

I saw MICK MARS play a note in tune, ONCE, very impressive. I asked MICK what "look" he was going for w/ that weird facial hair, and he told me he wanted to look like what Gene Simmons looked like if he was skinned alive. THAT'S ROCK N ROLL !!

I agree it was a very underappreciated disc but I think it's a matter of personal taste of whether or not it's their best disc musically, lyrically yes, but musically it was a departure from the typical sound, it was a great record but I still prefer the Vince version of Motley, Actually, I feel that Generation Swine was even more of a underrated CD, with the exception of a couple of songs that CD was awesome, it had some of the most well written songs, such as Let Us Prey, Flush, Confessions.
