I took immediate notice of the Citizen NB1060 in both the blue and white dials about 6 months ago. The silver leaf & lacquer dial is definitely competition with some of the best dials that Seiko produces (thinking of some of the lacquer dials available on the Presage line). I seem to always lean towards dressy watches even though I'm retired and really don't do anything that requires a dressy watch. Glad to see Citizen is stepping up their game!
@@glynchristopher1743 You are right. The comment i replied to claimed that the promaster would beat any seiko🤣 I mean. It's not even close😅 The promaster is a direct rival to Seiko 5 but not for the Prospex-Models.
i hope not many people see this video because this watch could comfortably be sold for 2x the price just for the dial, it doesnt show very well on video but the blue dial version shows the dial finishing muuuch better off on video. Such an underrated watch
Would love to see this next to the SARX055! I've been thinking of saving up for the SARX, but this might be a better size for me. They seem like the entry point for spectacular dials for their respective companies.
And you have done it again. This is now the second watch I discovered on your channel I absolutely had to have. I placed my order on sakurawatches. And what can I say, thank you for that. :-)
Having a hard time deciding between the Citizen NB1050/60 line and the Seiko SARX055 baby snowflake. Seems like the Citizen has a better movement but the movement in the SARX055 is still decent and the dial has a texture and depth to it that the white/silver Citizen offerings do not have. The SARX dial is not as good as the real GS Snowflake dial but it still comes to life in the right lighting in a way that the Citizens do not. Pricing is similar. Finish quality appears similar. Decisions decisions.
I think that the time has come for Citizen to get out of the shadow of Seiko and Grand Seiko. I have/had multiple Grand Seiko and Seiko references but Citizen is not represented in my collection, although I have one Campanola quartz reference which is a very distinguished example of what Citizen’s horological capabilities.
Seems to me like it's a bit boosted from the bottom due to the thick case. Not sure why companies sacrifice wearability over movement display. It's usually the first thing you forget about a watch after you buy it, more of a gimmick than anything else. If they include a display case, a slim metal case should also be included with the watch.
I just bought a white dial Presage. I want this one as well. Alas, the timing is wrong for me. I can't add it to my collection right now since it is not dissimilar enough from that Presage. If this Citizen had a blue dial variant, it would be different enough I could feel like I am not duplicating the Presage's role in my collection so close after purchasing the Presage. I will likely reconsider buying this watch at some point.
I have the hesitate between this and the blue maybe because I can found on live in my city. My cuestión, whom is the most interesting and fine dial? Thanks in advance.
This looks fantastic! That being said the unsigned crown at this price is a massive let down, to an otherwise outstanding offering. Question about the rotor - is there any audible rotor noise? I've had a Miyota before and the free spinning rotor sound was loud, harsh and terrible.
you’ve mentioned towards the end of video that there would be comparison on other seiko watches. are you still posting that video? that would be interesting thank you for reviewing underrated watches Mark!
Bro stop talking like Miley Cyrus 😂 like imperial droids 😂 4:06 It makes the watches nervous! 😂 Impeccable watch... I have it and a King Seiko... selling the King Seiko (too much happeing on it, also the movement is.. meh) For the price, this dial, movement, case finish... a daily elegant office beater ❤
I'm looking forward how the bracelets work out on this. The NB1050 is nice, but a bit plain. The more elaborate dial of this line really elevates them to another level and a decent bracelet would make it perfect. If the NB1050's bracelet swaps on, you're pretty much there.
@@ceja1500 I don't think they bothered since many people say the bracelet on the NB1050 is kind of cheap at the 1050s price point. I guess it's not nice enough to bother putting on an even nicer and more expensive watch. I'd still like to see it done, though.
Shame these Citizens have to be imported. I walked around a shopping centre at the weekend ducking into many watch shops that sold at all scales and the Citizen watches available were so poor. This would sell really well.
It is a dress watch but it's built on the same platform as the NB1060 line, which is meant to be more of an everyday lineup, so this one shouldn't have any problems being put through daily paces.

That's up there with their Chronomaster quality. A 9000 series movement with a hand painted dial at this price is amazing.
Price/ value definitely better than Seiko. Citizen is candidate for the most underrated watch brand imo
Any Citizen beats any Seiko at all times! Durability and other aspects...
@@bookofmillions wouldn't say that. I have the citizen Promaster and the Seiko Sumo and the Sumo is definetly the better watch.
Agreed! And their QC is second to none!
@@TheMonsterHunterTV my promaster was £160 if the sumo couldn't beat it I would be massively surprised

Another great review - the nb1050 has been on my radar for a while but this also looks stunning

Japanese perfection!

Great geometry and nice execution! I would buy one...
Perfect every day dress watch. I will get it. Thanks for the in-depth review.

It's lovely. I enjoy clean, classic designs like that.
Very nice video, same with the matching decorations on the table. Great watch!

Looking forward to this

There is a blue dial!
@@jonathanilagan7778 There is Blue Lacquer version. I did see that after posting this. I'm looking for something more like the NJ0150-81L blue dial.
Please do a comparison video with this and the sarx055, undoubtedly competitors.
Great value for money
When is Blue one??
I have the hesitate between this and the blue maybe because I can found on live in my city. My cuestión, whom is the most interesting and fine dial? Thanks in advance.
This watch is the love child of the NB1041-17A and the NB1050-59A.
Do you have a video on the metal bracelet for this watch?
Just when I finally get ready to buy a used Grand Seiko..... this comes along and throw everything out of wack.
Love the case and indices. Wish it was thinner.
only thing that's holding me back is the 47mm lug to lug
Really like this watch. Blued second hand and drilled lugs would elevate it even more.

This particular line from citizen makea a total moackery of just about anything under £2000
you’ve mentioned towards the end of video that there would be comparison on other seiko watches. are you still posting that video? that would be interesting thank you for reviewing underrated watches Mark!
correct, still in the works, thanks
If I didnt already have a Iwao dial GS i wouldve gotten the blue dialed version
too bad, the date window is not flushed right!
The NB1060’s are on my radar.
Can’t wait.

Did you manage to get the bracelet? If so where did you get it from?
Damn if only they have a no-date version. Why do watch companies keep shoving a date window on a dress piece?
Is the dial curved or flat?
I own the blue version, you can mention the blue version so people can get what you're talking about
I'm hesitating between this one and seiko sary147/srpd97. I'll not be able to see them in real life. What do you recommend? Thanks!

does the dial have some resemblance to the snowflake that the camera could not catch?
yeah, tough to capture, follow up video coming next week to get some better looks
Unsigned crown for that price..??
hey bro,do u think it will fit a 15.5cm wrist☺️
Oh yeah, Seiya Japan take my money on this one
it looks different from the pictures
You sure your wrist is 7-1/2 inches...?? I've got slim bezel 40mm watches that wear smaller than that on my 7 inch wrist.
Yes, I'm sure, lol
