Wow, never thought I’d see a dial like that on a Citizen. That really is a broadside at Grand Seiko, and remarkably successful. Also nice to see Citizen taking advantage of the fact that they- you know- own Miyota. Nothing against the Eco-Drives, they’re like a super-quartz- but it’s nice seeing a high-quality automatic from them.
Wow Citizen like Bulova are really brining out some very impressive automatic pieces. The dial is stunning look at the NB3020-16W green version, 24hr sub dial and power reserve.
Really pretty watch, love it, on the gray strap. I like the white date wheel on this, we all have opinions, I think Citizen knocked this one out of the park.
I think this dial is superior to any Seiko Presage out there, if Grand Seiko released a watch with this dial it would be an instant hit. If it wasn't for the date function, nothing would be stopping me from getting it.
This is a watch that is definitely on my list. Your video has the best views of this beautiful blue-green silver-leaf lacquer dial which is very competitive with Seiko Presage dials (their lacquer dial offerings are beautiful but a flat laquer compared to this textured lacquer dial). This shows that Citizen is very capable of manufacturing watches with amazing dials and not simply over-complicated dial sports/utility watches. They keep this up and they could give the Seiko Presage line some definite competition!
If they just sold these types of watch over in UK the brand reputation would change so quickly. But hey I am ok ordering from Japan and keeping these on the 🤐
@@AndreiGeorgescu-j9p It didn't stop me from getting it, the dial is amazing! I don't mind the date for symmetry like others do. I just don't like setting it up every time I wear it.
as far as i know citizen's scratch resistant coating is way better than what seiko does.. there is a graph somewhere on the internet that compares these..
Okay I’ve had my b&r band like a day and I gotta say I appreciate the recommendation Got the aqua one for this watch. The most expensive band I’ve bought so far but definitely worth it May not be my always go to answer but I’m sure I’ll be buying again
Beautiful watch great video. Just want to clarify they always get Super titanium wrong. No is not just a coating and seikos coating is not harder. Super titanium duratec has a process where works the titanium itself to be harder and on top of that it has also a treatment. Seiko does not make anything as hard as this and Duratec alpha is the hardest material used in the watch industry close to a few competitors such as sinns tegemented steel.
I hear you but to me this is not purely a dress watch. More of a go anywhere do anything daily wear watch like a sarb or explorer which has some sporty things to it
Also I consider no lume on this style of watch to be a plus A case where a spec or feature detracts from the design It’s really good like this so stop Same for my sarx057 All about a killer dial with some real nice finishing and sharp transitions and some good high polishing Tactful and classy
says it on the case back, check Grand Seiko dials, they don't say it either, doesn't mean they're not Made in Japan, not the same as 'Swiss Made' standards or practices
The white is more subtle and feels a bit more grown up, while the blue is more vibrant and fun, I wanted to like the white more but I'm more excited to wear the blue.
Aligned to what? It says "ring index, bezel index, and face index are not well aligned," which doesn't make sense. There's no ring or bezel index. I think it's a generic statement for people who complain about divers.
@@WeibenWang I can't post a screen grab here, but on the other website, the comment/note says "chapter ring index, bezel index, and face index are not well aligned.
If you don't need loom, neither the sunburst effect. Basically paying 60-80% more for a paper dial, doomed glass and dolphin hands. Otherwise exact same as the NB1050-59 that I own.
Close, but not quite. I have both a Chronomaster and a Grand Seiko. Grand Seiko is still a step up in fit, finish, and design. But only one step. Chronomasters are also a good bit cheaper.
Hard to say without seeing. Grand Seiko designs are a bit more refined, and striking. Citizen doesn't have anything iconic like the 44GS case, or the range of interesting dials. Washi paper is as far as they go. And they're finishing isn't quite as finely done, just a tad on the chintzy side in comparison. But Chronomasters have a lot going for them, so if you like a design, go for it.
@@AverageBros Depends on your defintion of 'dress' and the rather unusual use of the adjective 'tons' when used to describe something as small and lightweight as a wristwatch.
huh? DiaShield is notoriously soft and bad. it's not even as hard as the average stainless steel found in cheaper pocket knives today. the most basic Duratec is 2-3 times harder than DiaShield, and the better versions (like alpha) are a whole order of magnitude better and more advanced than that awfulness called DiaShield
So yet again, Mark is responsible for me buying another watch. What a stunner! I'm going to have to unsubscribe soon, my wallet can't handle it!
I am blown away by the overall value of this Citizen! Beautiful piece that’s a hidden gem 💎.

The gray suede from B&R Bands was a terrific selection for that Citizen.
Superb, this should have a worldwide release!
Really pretty watch, love it, on the gray strap. I like the white date wheel on this, we all have opinions, I think Citizen knocked this one out of the park.
I might have to purchase one now. Great video as always!
Amazing value for a watch with a hand painted dial and 9011 movement.
That dial is mental, I just ordered a Direnzo Mondial V2 (red) and Seiko SPB297 if it wasn’t because those two this would be a nice addition
Nice combination of colors.
Now that's one impressive dial. Definitely looks galactic and a good budget GS alternative.
I think this dial is superior to any Seiko Presage out there, if Grand Seiko released a watch with this dial it would be an instant hit. If it wasn't for the date function, nothing would be stopping me from getting it.
Stunning looker.
Now THAT is a dial! Quite beautiful and pairs very nicely with the gray strap.
I'm a sucker for a 38mm sports/dress watch! Totally on the radar!

It's got a beautiful dial. Citizen makes great watches.
Gorgeous watch ! thanks for the review !
That's a beautiful dial
Beauty! Would love to see drilled lugs on this
This is such a thorough review, amazing.
It looks like the entire earth is sitting inside the watch. Wish it came on a bracelet, I’d buy it very quickly
Nb105 bracelets fit on here fwiw
@@jaer.6540 another watch that I want. This is getting expensive 😂
Wow, wont see that one at the mall
The NB10xxx line is really impressive
Should have taken the date away for these nb106's tho....or at the very least color matched it.
I saw on another video that said the duratech was harder than the seiko diashield coating. I'm going to have to look into that. Great piece!
Wouldn't be surprised, I may have been thinking of a different hard coat comparison

How about the nb2000-19a? I have the 1050-59a and love it. Plus a Promaster diver with 8204. The 19a is going for under $500 on JOS. Please review!
Never been a Citizen guy, but this is quite a beautiful piece.
I like this watch more than the Seiko sary085! Better size, movement, and it has ar coating!
higher price tag too
I wish it didn't have a date, then nothing would be stopping me from getting this.

I wish they had a nice Logo instead of the citizen name on the dial i think it would look much better.
They do: the eagle logo comes on the 10x more expensive The Citizen line. Other than the logo it's hard to tell the difference :)

It looks amazing but for a dress watch 12mm thickness is definitely too much for me. Maybe a manual wind would have looked and fit better for it?
Looks like a few mm could be shaved off the shape of the case back.

wow. Why can't they sell this here?
Bu 9011 mekanizmalı saatin rotoru tek yönde mi kurma yapıyor yoksa çift yönde mi bu konuya kimse değinmemiş
2 things that annoy me: unsigned crown and 19mm lug. Aside from these.. it's perfect.
Very nice
I noticed it doesnt have Made in Japan on the dial like the nb1050🤔

Is there a 40 - 41 mm option?
Thank God there isn't, sarx for that.
Hi Mark! I have the sarb033 and fits me well on my 6.25in wrist. Do you think i will be able to pull this off?
These do wear slightly larger than the SARB, so tough to say, more of a personal preference really
Limited edition?
Screw down crown and case back?
push/pull crown, screw down caseback
If you go on Seiya and look for this watch, there is a comment stating that the indices are not aligned.

That date window ruins that mesmerizing dial IMO. I'd love this watch even more if it had no date window.
Bombeli camları severim ancak kenarlardan çok taşmış keşke biraz daha içerde olsaymış… indexler yansıma yapıyor…
Great dial but too small
