I understand. Glad I could help. Appreciate the comment
Great video. Explained perfectly.
Glad I could help. Thank you
Very Nice 👌
Subscribed, Thanks Larry.
Thanks for the sub!
Not using the plyers why you holding it while working
Are the center lines supposed to show any type of voltage generating if using a voltage reader? My AC isn't turning on yet I have 119ish showing on the two exterior lines but 0 on the inner lines. Thank you
Would definitely want to match the colors in my opinion incase one phase goes bad you know which color and not mess it up in a troubleshoot situation 🤷♂️
Yes sir, good point, appreciate the comment
If im using a voltmeter to check for voltage, am i putting one probe on the line and one probe on the load?
Meter connects to each leg that has 118-120 volts. You should get a reading somewhere close to 240
what's the wire gauge that you used for this 60 amp disconnect?
depends on load.. but a close guess would be around 4-6 GA
@@LarrySbrusch I'll be putting up a 60 amp disconnect too, I didn't hear you mention what size it was just wanting to know. Thanks
Yellow romex is 12 awg
What gauge wire?
Depends what the load is and the length of pull. 8-10 ga is in the area
Where is the neutral?
according to directions on this box you do not use Neutral with the 220-240 Volts
@@LarrySbrusch And yet, what if the 220v device also contains a 120v device which needs a neutral white wire? I find this issue confusing, and actually had never previously heard that no neutral is required in 220. For example, I needed 220 for a stove and the heavy duty wire had 4 prongs: two hots, a neutral, and a ground.
@@KpxUrz5745 Some appliances, like stoves, require both 240 and 120 v. Thus the necessity for neutral in those cases. Air conditioner usually only needs 240 volts, so no neutral required.

Why did you not match the wiring colors? Black line - load Black, etc?
Not necessary when each wire will carry 120 volts to get a total of 240
It's all good so long as there is an incoming hot and outgoing hot on each side.
@@pinkiepie1656 NEC?
@jamesmpaton I don't have my electrical work inspected or permitted. Therefore, I just get the job done safely and functionally:)
@@pinkiepie1656 Sure, I gotcha. Can you describe how you twist on wire nuts for me?
Those wires are *way* too small for 60 Amps.
I believe I stated that in the first part of video..This video was the basic way to hook it up. Appreciate the comment
The Disconnect switch is rated for 60 A. The load in this case is no more than 20 amps, judging by the 12 ga. cable.
